Waching daily Jul 30 2018

If you've been paying attention to any of the Conservative or Right Wing, and even establishment

Democrat talking heads recently, then you are probably aware of the fact that socialism

is creeping into the United States, and that this country is essentially screwed because

of it.

Now, of course, none of that is true.

We're not screwed.

Socialism is not creeping up here in the United States, though it should be.

We just have a few politicians out there right now who are saying those radical things like,

"Hey, maybe we should have Medicare for all, for citizens of the United States.

Maybe a public option that people could buy into, rather than going to a private health

insurance company that's going to rip them off, or deny them coverage based on preexisting

conditions."

That, according to these wealthy elite, is the socialism that's coming to the United

States.

And here's the thing.

Meghan McCain on The View, is one of the leading voices of this anti-socialism movement.

She got all up in arms last week because she was furious about the fact that her grandkids,

her kids may end up having to grow up in a world where everybody is entitled to healthcare.

How horrible would that be for a man whose father can't even remember how many homes

he owns?

I'm sure we all remember that from the 2008 presidential primaries and debates.

John McCain didn't know how many houses he had.

He's so damn rich, he doesn't know.

And the same is true for people like Meghan McCain, born into this obscene amount of wealth

so they have no concept of reality anymore.

All she knows is that she wants to deny everybody else the same privileges that she has had

since the day she was born because her mother has a ton of money.

Socialism does need to creep into the United States.

But the reason we're hearing all of these scaremongering tactics that it's going to

destroy the country, or that it's completely unaffordable, or that it's going to give us

worse care, is because corporations want us to think that.

The health insurance companies, big pharma, all of those companies have a financial stake

in keeping things the way that they are and not improving them.

Because if we were to get a public option, that could open Congress up to be able to

negotiate drug prices with pharmaceutical companies.

Oh, big pharma doesn't want that.

And if we're buying from the government instead of a place like Blue Cross, or Aetna, or any

of the other ones, they're going to lose money because they're not going to get our dollars

anymore.

And to be honest, employers should be pushing for this kind of plan because it takes the

healthcare burden cost off of them and shifts it to the patient, the consumer, the worker,

and the government that they're paying into.

Seems like a pretty decent trade off to me, right.

And yet, here we are, still having to have these discussions about whether or not Medicare

for all, universal healthcare, a public option, whatever you want to refer to it as.

I know they're all different things, but you hear different things all the time about them.

Whatever you want to call it, we're still having to have the discussion about whether

or not it's viable.

And the worst part of the discussion is when these right-wingers and the establishment,

Democrats, like to talk about the cost.

"We just can't afford it."

I mean, how CNN did an analysis of it about a year and a half ago and they said, "It's

going to cost us $1.4 trillion a year to have universal healthcare here in the United States."

Wow.

That is a lot.

$1.4 trillion a year.

If only there was a way to maybe come up with that money, like I don't know, not giving

the wealthy another tax cut.

Boom.

That just paid for universal healthcare in the United States.

Did you know that?

The cost of the tax cut we just gave the wealthy would have paid for universal healthcare.

And of course, it actually would have been a lot cheaper because that cost of universal

healthcare does not count on the fact that every American citizen that is working would

be paying into it.

You want some more money?

Well, how about we not add $70 to $80 billion to an already bloated military budget each

year.

A $770 to $780 billion per year on the military.

We could probably get by without all of that money going to that, and maybe put that instead,

since we've already paid for universal healthcare with the tax cut, remember.

So now, let's take half that military budget and make debt-free college.

Oh, look.

Everything stays the same, nobody gets screwed out of anything, and everything is paid for

without us having to pony up any extra dollars if we didn't want to.

That's what these people are saying.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

Those are the ideas she's putting forward.

Bernie Sanders and so many others all throughout this country, those are the ideas they want

to implement.

Not tax us to hell and back so we could pay for all these socialistic ideas.

Just maybe not give money to the wealthy elite, not continue to feed the military industrial

complex, and if we do those two things, or should I say, stop doing those two things,

we can easily pay for these programs that are going to make the lives of millions upon

millions of American citizens so much better.

Barack Obama Is Running For Cover After This Massive Scandal Exploded - Duration: 3:28.

Please Help Me To 100,000 Sub : https://bit.ly/2yOF8Xi Barack Obama Is Running For Cover After This

Massive Scandal Exploded Barack Obama told a massive lie when he claimed

his administration was scandal free.

That was fake news.

Now someone stepped up and blew the whistle on a massive scandal that sent Obama scurrying

under a rock.

Office of Management and Budget Director Mick Mulvaney spoke at the State Department's

Ministerial to Advance Religious Freedom in Washington, D.C.

Mulvaney was one of the founding members of the conservative House Freedom Caucus and

is best known for pushing the GOP to slash spending and balance the budget.

The South Carolinian was not known as a culture warrior, but when he spoke before the attendees,

Mulvaney let them in on a horrible secret from the Obama years.

Mulvany claimed a past administration – everyone understood this to be the Obama administration

– withheld foreign aid from sub-Saharan African nations because those countries'

populations opposed abortion and homosexual marriage.

The audience was stunned.

No one could believe that an American government intentionally harmed people because of their

Christian belief.

Mulvaney stated "Our U.S. taxpayer dollars are used to discourage Christian values in

other democratic countries.

It was stunning to me that my government under a previous administration would go to folks

in sub-Saharan Africa and say, "We know that you have a law against abortion, but

if you enforce that law, you are not going to get any of our money.

We know you have a law against gay marriage, but if you enforce that law, we are not going

to give you any money.

That's a different type of religious persecution.

… That is a different type of religious persecution that I never expected to see.

I never expected to see that as an American Christian."

This was not the first shot in the Obama administration's war on Christianity.

During his eight years in office, Barack Obama attacked Christians both rhetorically and

with policy.

Obama rose to the defense of Islam at the National Prayer Breakfast by scolding Christians

about being on their "high horse" and blamed Christians for the crusades and slavery.

"And lest we get on our high horse and think this is unique to some other place, remember

that during the Crusades and the Inquisition, people committed terrible deeds in the name

of Christ."

"In our home country, slavery and Jim Crow all too often was justified in the name of

Christ," Obama lectured.

The Obama administration's policy assault on Christian beliefs was just as fierce.

Obama fought the Little Sisters of the Poor in court over the Obamacare contraception

mandate.

Rather than accept the fact that the Nuns' Christian beliefs meant they could not support

abortion under any circumstances, the administration fought to force the Little Sisters of the

Poor to provide abortion drugs as part of their health coverage plans.

This attempt to effectively force the Nuns to renounce their Christian beliefs appalled

millions of Americans.

Donald Trump was elected with historic support from Evangelical Christians who saw their

values under attack in Obama's America.

Mulvaney's testimony about the administration using taxpayer money to force other countries

to bow to Obama's far pro-homosexual and pro-abortion agenda is another piece of evidence

that Obama's war on Christianity was his administration's greatest scandal.

Do you agree Obama waged war on Christianity during his two terms as President?

Meet our first Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, Lori Reesor - Duration: 1:40.

((music))

Hi I'm Lori Reesor, the new Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs at UW–Madison.

This is a new position created to bring together a number of

important units on campus, that provide critical student services.

First a bit about me. I grew up just down the road in Waukesha and my parents still live there.

I'm a first gen college student and earned my bachelor's degree at UW–Whitewater.

This is an incredible opportunity to take a job where I can

give back to the state I grew up in and do something I love - help students be successful.

It feels like I'm coming home.

This role for me perfectly mixes the professional and the personal.

I've worked at student affairs for more than thirty years,

primarily at major public research institutions like UW–Madison.

I'm passionate about creating programs services and policies that enhance

Badgers learning and success, both inside and outside the classroom.

Now, I won't be doing it alone. I'll be working with wonderful colleagues from

the Division of Recreational Sports, the Division of Student Life,

University Health Services and the Wisconsin Union.

Lots of outstanding work is being done in these areas already

and together we have an exciting opportunity to unite

and serve students even better.

In many ways, I feel like a first year student, brand new to campus.

I look forward to meeting people and exploring all UW–Madison has to offer.

I simply can't wait to begin this marvelous journey together.

It gives me great pleasure to officially say for the first time, "On Wisconsin!"

James Gunn: 'Guardians of the Galaxy' Cast Asks for Director's Reinstatement | THR News - Duration: 2:47.

James Gunn has found support from some of his A-list colleagues

in the wake of his firing by Disney. The 'Guardians of the Galaxy'

director was terminated on July 20, after offensive tweets

resurfaced in which the filmmaker joked about

controversial topics such as pedophilia and rape.

On Monday, Chris Pratt and his fellow 'Guardians'

stars released an open letter in support of their ousted director.

Pratt published the letter on his Instagram account, with a caption

that reads: "Although I don't support James Gunn's inappropriate jokes

from years ago, he is a good man. I'd personally love to see him

reinstated as director of Volume 3. If you please,

read the following statement- signed by our entire cast."

The letter itself was signed by Pratt and his castmates,

including Bradley Cooper, Zoe Saldana, Vin Diesel, Dave Bautista,

Karen Gillan, Michael Rooker, Sean Gunn and Pom Klementieff.

"We fully support James Gunn," the open letter began.

"We were all shocked by his abrupt firing last week and have

intentionally waited these ten days to respond in order to think,

pray, listen, and discuss. In that time we have been encouraged

by the outpouring of support from fans and members of the media

who wish to see James reinstated as director of 'Volume 3'

as well as discouraged by those who so easily duped

into believing the many outlandish conspiracy theories around him."

Gunn's offensive tweets were resurfaced by conservative personalities,

and the Guardians stars cited the nation's current

political division as a contributing factor to the director's firing.

"There is little due process in the court of public opinion," the letter continued.

"James is likely not the last good person to be put on trial.

Given the growing political divide in this country, it's safe to say

instances like this will continue, although we hope American from

across the political spectrum can ease up on the

character assassinations and stop weaponizing mob mentality."

In the open letter, the cast referenced a Change.org petition

asking for Gunn to be reinstated. So far,

the petition has attracted more than 330,000 signatures.

In announcing Gunn's firing on July 20, Walt Disney Studios

chairman Alan Horn said, "The offensive attitudes and statements

discovered on James' Twitter feed are indefensible and inconsistent

with our studio's values, and we have severed our business relationship with him."

Though Disney and Marvel Studios had not set an official release

date for 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3,' the film had been preparing

to shoot in Atlanta this fall, and Gunn had been working on a script.

Gunn previously said the film would open in 2020.

Gunn's two 'Guardians' films have been big hits for Disney,

with the 2014 original earning $773 million globally

and last year's 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' earning $863 million.

Before this letter, various castmembers had taken

different approaches to publicly addressing Gunn's firing.

Bautista, Rooker and the director's brother Sean Gunn had been

the most outspoken in their support of the filmmaker,

while Pratt had been more measured, sharing several Bible verses.

This is the first statement on the subject from Cooper and Diesel.
