Mollie Tibbetts Update: Reward Offered in Search for Iowa Student | Heavy.com

Facebook Mollie Tibbetts family has launched an extensive search for the missing Iowa college student.

A reward has now been offered for information in the disappearance of 20-year-old University of Iowa student Mollie Tibbetts, who vanished on July 18 while dog-sitting at her boyfriend's brother's home in Brooklyn, Iowa.

Police said they remain "hopeful" that Tibbetts will be found alive, ABC News reports.

"At this point, we don't know her exact whereabouts but we continue to look.

We are hopeful that she is still alive and so we will continue to think that way until told otherwise," Richard Rahn, special agent in charge of the Iowa Department of Public Safety's Division of Criminal Investigation, told ABC News.

"We're doing everything we can to locate her and track her down.".

The T.I.P Rural Electric Cooperative in Brooklyn is offering a $1,000 reward, while Iowa CrimeStoppers is offering an additional $1,000, the Des Moines Register reports.

The reward is offered for information that leads to an arrest or conviction in Tibbetts' disappearance, the newspaper reports.

Police have not confirmed that there is any wrongdoing in the case, and have been treating it as a missing persons investigation.

But authorities have said that an abduction remains a possibility and becomes more likely as time goes on.

Tibbetts was last seen on the evening of July 18 while running in dark-colored shorts, a pink sports bra and running shoes.

Tibbetts later sent text messages to her mother and a Snapchat to her boyfriend that he opened about 10 p.m.

Her family and friends said she could also be wearing a red shirt and denim shorts she was planning on wearing to work at a daycamp on July 19.

She was reported missing after she didn't show up for work and did not respond to phone calls and messages.

Police have ruled out Tibbetts' boyfriend, Dalton Jack, as a suspect in the case.

He was out of town with his brother and brother's fiancee at a construction job site in Dubuque, Iowa.

Brooklyn is a city in Poweshiek County of about 1,400 people in eastern Iowa, located midway between Des Moines and Cedar Rapids.

Tibbetts is 5'3″ tall and weighs 120 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

She was possibly wearing running clothes, like gym shorts, running shoes and a sports bra or high school athletic T-shirt, or could be in her work clothes, denim shorts and a red T-shirt.

Mollie Tibbetts' family members told KCCI-TV that she was doing homework on her computer late in the evening of July 18, the news station reports.

Police told the family that she was working on the computer, but did not provide a specific time, saying it could hinder the investigation.

Tibbetts had last been seen running around Brooklyn about 5:30 p.m.

Police have obtained data from her FitBit, an activity tracker, and have said that could help them in the investigation.

They have also been examining her other electronic devices and social media accounts.

"There's really no clues," Laura Calderwood, Tibbetts' mother, told ABC News.

"There's a DCI agent who said she's been in the business for 23 years and only one other case where she had so few leads.

So I really can't speculate.

I'm just hoping for the best.".

Dalton Jack, Tibbetts' boyfriend, told WOI-TV, "This is not like her.

If this is her running off, nobody would've seen it coming.

Nobody in the world.

Not her family, not me — nobody would've ever guessed that she just take off and not tell anybody.".

Police Have Interviewed More Than 100 People, but Have Not Identified Any Suspects.

Police have interviewed more than 100 people during their investigation into Tibbetts' disappearance, but have not identified any suspects, KCRG-TV reports.

They have also searched several locations.

"I anticipate we're going to get more leads so I anticipate working through the weekend and do whatever we can to track her down and locate her," DCI Special Agent Richard Rahn told the news station.

He said they are not scaling back efforts to locate Tibbetts and believe she is still alive.

"At this time, no person has been identified as a suspect nor has anyone been arrested or criminally charged for her disappearance.

The joint investigation by the Iowa Department of Public Safety's Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI), the Poweshiek County Sheriff's Office, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Iowa State Patrol, the Brooklyn Volunteer Fire Department and a host of local law enforcement agencies continue to look into her disappearance," the Iowa Department of Public Safety said July 27 in a press release.

"With the aide of the public, investigative leads continue to be investigated and a multitude of individuals have been interviewed.

Additionally, a number of searches have been conducted to include ground, air and K-9 searches.".

A GoFundMe has been set up to help Tibbetts' family as they search for the missing University of Iowa student.

Only one fundraising campaign has been authenticated by the family.

Nick Barry, who set up the campaign, said in a video explaining what the money will be used for, "Most of us can only imagine the devastation the family is going through right now and work is simply out of the question as they monitor phone calls and do everything they can to bring their little girl home.

The friends of the family have put together this GoFundMe page to help alleviate some of the financial burden, because the bills do still come in.

And it's a way that we as a family can help them through this tough time right now.".

He added, "It doesn't have to be much.

$10 to $20 can go a long way and if you're not in a financial position to give anything, a 30-second prayer is just as important to us.

We also want to use this format to get the word out from coast-to-coast to keep our eyes and ears open to help Mollie and bring her home.

Sony A7S III - 7 Things it HAS to Have for Me to Buy It - Duration: 12:49.

This camera needs to shoot 4K at 60 frames a second if it doesn't then

it sucks I'm not going to buy it. Today were talking about the Sony a7s III and what it's

going to take for me to actually buy this thing. So if you don't know who I am I'm Tom

Ryan that's why my channel says Tom Ryan. I'm a YouTuber and a filmmaker and I'm trying

to make it through my life. Before we start out do you like photography filmmaking Tech

and content creation? It's the best. I love it. well considering you like all of those

things I'm going to say go down below and hit subscribe if you like this content and

I'll share more of this stuff with you guys. so I actually had to reshoot this shot right

here and you're probably wondering why well it's because on this camera that I'm using

right here the a7r III from Sony it has no articulating screen you can't flip it out

and look at yourself. It's on the back and it doesn't rotate. The number one thing that

the Sony a7s III is going to need to have if this wind would stop I'd be able to tell

you. the number one thing that the Sony a7s III needs to have in order for me to buy it

is a fully articulating screen that I can see myself while I'm shooting. The articulating

screen just makes it easier to make content to shoot stuff by yourself and not have to

worry about if you're in Focus or if your exposures correct or anything like that. You

don't have to redo shots so often like I did in this video. It's awesome for vlogging of

course but it's also really great for filmmaking and trying to get different angles and moving

and having to stand in different positions for weddings or for regular film-making in

general it's just a great tool to have an articulating screen that flips around. I'm

the guy that advocates for bigger sensors that are better in low-light but the fact

that Panasonic made the gh5s is proof that you don't need a bigger sensor. And the features

that are packed into those cameras are ridiculous. And if Sony doesn't really hit at home with

the a7s III I'm going micro 4/3 guys I'm sorry. everybody knows that Sony has incredible 4K

footage. the images you can produce with these cameras are amazing and Sony helped revolutionize

the small form-factor bodies being able to do amazing quality video. the problem is that

I follow Caleb Pike from dslrvideoshooter if you want a link to his channel it's up

here or down in description below and ever since he started using the gh5 I've noticed

this wind noise is not going to stop is it. I definitely noticed a difference in the quality

of his videos and it wasn't really that clear to me at first but I kind of caught on to

what it was and it it just kind of made it feel a little bit more professional little

bit more cinematic and the problem is that Panasonic just has better pixel quality than

Sony cameras due to the better quality pixels in their sensors regardless of sensor size

which is kind of crazy. the gh5 and gh5s are actually comparable to some of the lower budget

RED cameras which is kind of crazy that's absolutely ridiculous for $2,000 you can get

similar image quality to that of a $20, 000 camera. even the A7 III from Sony which down

samples 6K footage to 4K isn't as sharp as what you'll get from the gh5 cuz the gh5 just

has better pixel quality. the difference between the Sony cameras and the gh5 quality is kind

of like the difference between Kraft mac and cheese and Walmart brand mac and cheese there's

a difference it's not really that noticeable but there's definitely a difference. Cool.

Tom please insert a generic shot of my feet while I'm walking to convey the transition

from one place to another. no problem Tom. 4K and 1080p just don't mix together especially

on a 4K timeline. this camera needs to shoot 4K at 60 frames a second if it doesn't then

it sucks I'm not going to buy it. even if it's not 10 bit 422 60 frames per second that's

not that big of a deal but 4K and 1080 just don't mix. the difference between 4k and 1080

is a little bit different it's kind of like Pepsi vs Coke. If youre Coke drinker then

you despise Pepsi and vice-versa. There's a clear difference and you're not about to

drink some poor man's version of whatever drink you like. so the police station is right

behind this building I'm sitting in front of and if Sony doesn't incorporate 10-bit

recording into this camera I feel like whoever came up with that idea needs to be there they

need to be put into prison because 10-bit is a necessity now in the day and age of mirrorless

cameras small form-factor mirrorless cameras for shooting weddings or shooting professional

corporate stuff with these cameras they need 10 bit 422 recording. We've all been there

we finally shot the entire video we get it into post we edit it and then we go and we

color grade it and we need to just push it a little bit further than it's able to go

and it starts banding and starts falling apart and things start looking bad and that's where

10-bit 422 would really come in handy come on Sony please really. its just necessary

for this camera to do 10-bit 422 internal I mean I used to be a Blackmagic pocket Cinema

Camera owner and having that 10-bit prores was just incredible I could It was flexible

and I could mess with it the way that I wanted to and it was just incredible to have that

feature. I'm not an advocate for fix it in post but when shooting stuff like weddings

it's just it's high stress and it's really fast paced and you're going to overexpose

you're going to underexpose sometimes it's going to happen and you need that flexibility

to be able to push it or pull it back to where it needs to be. if we don't have 10 bit 422

internal then Sony what are you doing? Sony colors have fallen apart on me time and time

again and that's because it's only 8 bit color depth we need 10 bit Sony please give it to

us please. Speaking of colors color science needs to change in this new camera. now they

did a decent job with a7 iii the a7r III of mixing up the colors making them a little

bit better making the skin tones a bit better as well but they're just not good enough yet.

obviously theyre much better than the older models I still own the a6500 and that camera

is really really hard to work with as far as colors but the Panasonic gh5 in gh5s are

just on another level as far as colorescience and as far as skin tones and just color reproduction.

I go as far to say that Panasonic has now gotten to the point with the gh5s that they're

basically as good as Canon is. Sony just implemented a new color science into their new cinema

camera the Venice and it's actually pretty good. there's a comparison between the Sony

Venice and the Canon c100 Mark II that I saw recently and it was really really close it

wasn't perfect it was super super close just enough so that I think that if they put Venice

color science into the Sony a7s III i think it'd be workable it would be good enough it

would probably be as good as Panasonic colorescience. Now rumor has it that Sony actually is planning

on putting the Venice colorescience into the Sony a7s iii so that's a good sign and I would

really appreciate it if they did that. Now only Sony shooters. when is this going to

end is been going on for 45 seconds now. This had been going on for so long. We're going

somewhere else i want to finish this video. of course it stops as soon as I leave as soon

as I set up my camera it starts and as soon as I break down it stops. okay so only Sony

Shooters are going to understand this this is kind of a weird one to put at the end but

it makes so much sense. Sony needs to upgrade their HDMI support. it has a micro HDMI and

thats already a disadvantage to begin with but anytime you plug in a Sony mirrorless

camera via HDMI to an external monitor the HUD all your information on your camera on

your LCD screen just goes away if you're in movie mode. to see your settings you have

to be in manual mode and when you hit record in manual mode all your settings go away and

it's just a blank screen again so it's just it's a big problem Sony please fix this you

got to fix this or else I'm not going to buy your camera. alright I looked at my phone

and I actually lied I have one more thing that I need to talk about so let's go do that

I'll do this little transition here we go. The last thing I'm going to talk about is

the budget how much this cameras going to cost or how much I think it's going to cost

how much it should cost based off of the specs or what I think the specs should be or are

going to be and just all-around price differences and what cost more what cost less so we're

going to talk about that right now. If it's camera cost anything over $3,000 I will not

buy it. If the gh5 can do what it does and by the way I didn't mention all of the other

features that I like about it then the Sony a7s iii should have absolutely no problem

doing all that stuff for under three thousand bucks because the gh5 only costs 2000. The

only two noticeable things that I found that Sony has over the gh5 and gh5s is sensor size

which is going to obviously be better for lowlight its going to be better for photography

it's going to give you better Bokeh you have that crop mode in video mode where you can

punch in and out of A-PSC mode. and it has better auto focus thats just universally known

the Panasonic cameras don't have it they don't have bad Auto focus like their auto focus

isn't garbage it's doable on a wide angle lens and to be honest it's really not that

big of a sensor so you're not going to find anything to out of focus anyways. if we're

talking about the upgrades that I mentioned if it doesn't have all of those or even some

of the ones that I mentioned then I don't see auto focus and a bigger sensor to be worth

all the shortcomings at Sony cameras have. now although i would prefer not to live without

these features in the gh5 and I'm going to list them off cuz there's just so many I can

live without the better in body stabilization of the gh5 the 6K anamorphic shooting the

1080p at 180 FPS the cheaper price for both the body and the lenses the higher-resolution

screen the better battery life the no record limit the better menu system Etc. but as a

video shooter and as a filmmaker all of the things that I listed earlier I just can't

live without anymore they're too important and I need them all in my list of things because

video production quality has just gotten so much better it's gone through the roof since

the gh5 and gh5s have come out and I just can't live without any of these features anymore.

in conclusion finally we're at the conclusion in conclusion Sony has to literally knock

my socks off and blow my mind in order for me to buy this camera especially at a price

point of 3000 I don't think it's going to be any cheaper than $3,000 especially at a

price point of $3,000 or more it has to not have to blow my mind knock my socks off for

me to buy this thing. The gh5 was the foundation I really never thought I would say this I

argued so hard for bigger sensors I argued with this one guy on Facebook forever and

he actually didn't like me because of it. I argued that the gh5 was just not a good

camera for run-and-gun stuff because it wasn't good in low-light and bigger sensors were

just better and micro four-thirds was not going to give you enough depth the field.

I never thought I would say this but the gh5 was the foundation and then the gh5S came

out and proved to everyone that smaller sensors can do better low-light and do literally as

good of low light as my camera does. I have a full frame camera it cost me $3,500 and

the gh5s which cost $1,000 less than actually right now $1,500 less than that can do just

as good low-light with a micro four thirds sensor. So that's just incredible. sorry Sony

is your move Bros. you're not as bad as Canon but you're not moving forward quick enough.

we've been asking for articulating screens for literally like since the a7s II came out

you never did it your color science is not good the record limit is something that we'd

be willing to pay in order to get rid of. you got upgrade your stuff guys. all right
