Publix is Already Facing MAJOR Financial Backlash After Caving to Hogg.

When will companies realize that kowtowing to teenage liberal extremists will only cause

more harm than good?

In Publix case, it looks like they'll be learning a BIG financial lesson very soon

as the free-market just responded in a powerful way after they caved to David Hogg's anti-NRA

campaign.

From The Blaze

Publix spokesman Dwaine Steven told the Orlando Sentinel on Friday his employer never meant

to upset its customer base with its political donations — which crossed party lines — so

Publix executives decided to stop all political donations.

"We would never knowingly disappoint our customers or the communities we serve,"

he said.

"As a result, we decided earlier this week to suspend corporate-funded political contributions

as we reevaluate our giving processes."

For many Americans, Publix's decision was another slap in the face, just one more entity

caving to the liberal outrage mob.

So they decided to hit back.

What happened in response?

Thousands of Americans have voiced their displeasure over Publix's lack of backbone and have

decided to take their grocery needs to other stores.

It's a counter-boycott of sorts, but really it's just a free-market reaction to Publix's

decision.

Watch some of the Twitter Reactions Here:

Find a new place to shop for a while other than @Publix -

Dan Bongino.

Totally, completely and absolutely disgusted with Publix.

Will do my grocery shopping at Walmart.

This is how Airbnb's oldest interns travel the world on a budget | CNBC Profiles - Duration: 3:22.

We've been to 70 countries and I think that's a lot of countries,

and then Michael reminds me that there's almost 200 in the UN, so okay.

Hi I'm Michael and I'm Debbie.

We're the senior nomads.

I knew it was crazy when we were asked to do an interview for

Travel & Leisure on extreme traveling.

I was like... why do they want to talk to us?

I guess we are extreme travelling at this point.

Money was a concern.

We have a retirement nest egg, we would call it, a little, a fund.

We need to spend it very carefully.

I always wondered at the beginning, could we do this financially?

And five years later, we are doing just fine.

I had no idea what Airbnb was.

I had no idea you could rent homes all over the world.

And so if it weren't for Airbnb we wouldn't have even embarked on this journey.

Michael did a lot of spreadsheets, a lot of budgeting.

And then we started to look at Airbnbs in places that we might like to visit,

and we could see that it matched up with our budget.

We set a budget of $90 a night to spend for our Airbnbs wherever we are in the world.

Sometimes we have a little more, sometimes a little less, but on average it's $90.

We've traded experiences for things.

So we don't buy things, because we don't have room in our suitcase

to put anything, they're already full.

But we've gotten so bad that now if I see a greeting card I want to give Michael,

I take a picture of it and I say, "I'd like to give you this greeting card"

and show him the picture on my phone.

We always try to see the free things in a city, and that's the thing locals see anyway.

They're not the ones that are going to the tourist experiences.

So we get tips from our hosts on how to see the city in a slightly different way.

We're just trying to live locally in the neighbourhood as best as you can.

And it's to be said, because we eat most of our meals at home

so we're grocery shopping, then we're washing dishes.

It hasn't been hard to keep track of our expenses, because we do a daily journal.

And we write in the journal every day what we did and we write down what we spent

and we tape in the receipts and it's become so routine, that we enjoy doing it.

And Michael keeps meticulous spreadsheets, so much so that

he even keeps our game scores in a spreadsheet.

We usually stay in the centre of a city, because we like to walk.

so we walk a lot, and I think that's helped us with our health.

We walk way more than we do when we're home with the car.

We have such a nice relationship with Airbnb.

Let's ask them if they would consider having us as interns?

And they said yes, it was simple as that, really.

It was just wonderful, because when you get older,

you're worried about - Gee, can I make a difference anymore?

A lot of people that are older feel like they still can make a contribution.

I think this has been really healthy, in that we have discovered

that we can live in smaller spaces, we can live with fewer things.

I think, I hope, that when we return to Seattle, when we finally settle down

that we'll have learned a lot of lessons about just how much

we need to spend to be comfortable.

Who Is Vinson on The 100? | Heavy.com - Duration: 3:20.

Who Is Vinson on The 100? | Heavy.com

A new character is introduced in Season 5 Episode 5 of The 100 and he's a member of the prison crew.

Who is? Read on for more details.

This post has minor spoilers for the newest episode.

Vinson is a prisoner aboard the Eligius IV.

He was one of the crew awakened by Raven and Murphy so they wouldn't die from lack of oxygen on the ship, according to early reports when his character was first announced in December.

Mike Dopud is cast as Vinson.

When he's introduced on "Shifting Sands" to Abby and Kane, he's wearing a collar and Kane and Abby are told to be careful around him.

He says that sometimes his demon comes out, and they need to shock his collar if that happens.

Mike Dopoud is playing Vinson.

TV Line reported in December that he was cast to play a serial killer who is very ruthless.

That's really all we know at this point.

Looks are deceiving when it comes to Vinson.

He looks almost like a professor with the glasses that he wears, but he's actually very, very dangerous.

Vinson has some type of disease, which many prisoners who did mining now have, along with Wonkru.

Abby is going to try to find a cure, but it will be difficult.

Doupod has played a lot of roles recently, including on many scifi shows.

So if he looks familiar, there's a good reason for that.

He's starred in Power, Deadpool 2, iZombie, Arrow, Dark Matter, and more.

This is a developing story.

'OMG This Is Wrong!' Retired English Teacher Corrects a White House Letter and Sends It Back - Duration: 6:31.

'OMG This Is Wrong!' Retired English Teacher Corrects a White House Letter and Sends It Back

The notes were sprawled across a letter bearing President Trump's signature.

In the top left corner: "Have y'all tried grammar style check?".

At the top right: "Federal is capitalized only when used as part of a proper noun.

And toward the bottom: "OMG this is WRONG!".

The letter, dated May 3 and printed on White House stationery, was addressed to Yvonne Mason, 61, a former high school English teacher who retired last year but hadn't quite left "grading-paper mode," she said on Sunday.

So when she received the letter in the mail, she pulled out her go-to purple pen and started making corrections.

Then she snapped a picture, posted the letter on Facebookand mailed it back to the White House.

"It was a poorly worded missive," she said.

"Poor writing is not something I abide.

If someone is capable of doing better, then they should do better.".

Mason, a Democrat who lives in Atlanta, had written to Mr Trump to ask that he visit each family of those who died in the shooting that killed 17 people at a school in Parkland, Fla., in February.

"I had written to them in anger, to tell you the truth," she said.

"I thought he owed it to these grieving families.".

The letter she received did not address her concerns, she said.

Instead, it listed a series of actions taken after the shooting, like listening sessions, meetings with lawmakers and the STOP School Violence Act, a bill that would authorize $500 million over 10 years for safety improvements at schools but had no provisions related to guns.

Then there were the grammatical errors.

"Nation" was capitalized, so was "states." Ms.

Mason circled both.

A sentence about a "rule" banning devices that turn legal guns into illegal machine guns was unclear.

"Explain 'rule,'" she wrote.

There was more. Much more.

"If my students turned that in they would get exactly the same marks," she said.

But she didn't correct everything.

"I did not mention the dangling modifier," she said.

"I focused mainly on mechanics.".

The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The letter stood in contrast to other letters she has received from politicians, Ms.

Mason said.

Senator Lindsey Graham, Republican of South Carolina, sent "beautiful" letters that struck a tone that "makes me more important than him," she said.

She has written to several legislators in South Carolina, where she taught Advanced Placement English language and composition.

Following up on a New Year's resolution, she has written a postcard to the White House every day since Jan.

1, she said.

When she was teaching, she wanted to show her students that their voices mattered, even if they weren't old enough to vote, she said.

"You're important.

You need to be a part of this, you need to pay attention to what's going on," she said.

When word spread about the corrected letter she had sent to the White House, Ms.

Mason received hundreds of messages from people across the country — some positive (a lawyer in Houston wanted to know if she would be interested in looking over his appellate briefs) and others venomous (one person suggested she "must be a lonely bitter hag with a lot of cats").

But Ms.

Mason wasn't focusing on the negativity.

"Let them have their day, bless their little hearts," she said.

"They aren't changing my mind.".

'The 100' Season 5 Episode 5: Is Octavia Turning Evil? | Heavy.com - Duration: 4:11.

'The 100' Season 5 Episode 5: Is Octavia Turning Evil? | Heavy.com

Somebody has to say it… Is Octavia possibly turning evil? The latest episode of The 100 is leaving some fans concerned that this might be the case.

Is it possible that The 100 writers would do this to Octavia? This post will have spoilers for Season 5 Episode 5 of The 100.

After you finish the story, take our poll at the end and let us know what you think will happen to Octavia. .

Maybe, just maybe, Octavia is losing her soul… At least, that's what some viewers are starting to be scared might be happening.

Most of this season, Octavia has been amazing.

She's a badass leader who could probably beat anyone in a fight in any post-apocalyptic world.

She kept her crew alive for six years in a bunker, even though they were low on supplies.

She turned opposing factions into "Wonkru." She went from being Skaicru to being a Grounder to eventually leading everyone.

And all that without being Nightblood.

She did the impossible, and she did it with an amazing post-apocalyptic style.

But now it looks like it might be going to her head, and fans are starting to get worried.

In Season 5 Episode 5, she started taking things a bit too far.

She's determined to fight and kill the prison crew, no matter what the cost to her own people.

On one hand, this might be warranted.

There may be only one patch of valley where anyone can survive, and it may be "kill or be killed" right now.

You can't completely fault her on that.

But on the other hand, she's starting to turn against her own brother.

She's getting to the point where she doesn't want anyone to question her, and that's NOT a good thing.

Remember how Kane and Abby fled because they thought she would kill Kane? Not good.

Then she warned Bellamy tonight that if he spoke against Wonkru, then he would be an enemy of Wonkru.

And we all know what that means.

It's not a good idea to have no confidantes, especially your own brother whom you know you can trust.

So is all this power and need-to-survive going to Octavia's head? Some fans have been predicting it.

Take Our Poll.

What do you think? Is Octavia turning evil or is she simply the most powerful character out of everyone on The 100? Let us know in the comments below.

Why Is The 100 Returning June 5? | Heavy.com - Duration: 4:19.

Why Is The 100 Returning June 5? | Heavy.com

The CW Why is The 100 taking a week off?.

Tongiht's episode of The 100, "Shifting Sands," was phenomenal.

It was fast-paced, multi-layered, and incredible.

But it also left fans with one sad revelation: we aren't getting a new episode next week. The 100 isn't returning until June 5.

Do we have any idea why?.

Unfortunately, at this time we don't know exactly why the show is taking a week off.

However, we have a pretty good guess.

It's likely due to a combination of the Memorial Day holiday and planning for July Sweeps.

The CW hasn't made an official announcement about why the show is taking a week off, as of the time of publication.

One possible reason is because of Memorial Day.

The holiday is on May 28.

That means The 100 might not want to air a new episode the day after the holiday.

It doesn't make a lot of sense, but it's certainly one possibility.

There don't appear to be any major sports events happening on May 29 that would compete with the show.

And nothing major is airing on The CW either next week, just a rerun of The 100.  In fact, we scanned through all the major events happening on TV that night and didn't see anything major. So more than likely, it's a decision partially based on the holiday that ends the day before.

It might also have to do with May and July Sweeps. The CW often builds hiatuses strategically into its series to make sure they can take advantage of sweeps.

Last year, for example, The CW put The 100 on a three-week break in April because of Sweeps.

This year, May Sweeps took place from April 26 – May 23.

That means that tonight's episode was the last major episode of The 100 during May Sweeps (and they picked a good one.).

So The CW might also be planning for July Sweeps.

Typically the season ends before July Sweeps happens, but because the show started later this year, The CW will actually be able to air the show during summer sweeps, which is June 28-July 26. Each season of The 100 has 13 to 16 episodes.

That means we still have at least eight weeks or two months of episodes left.

The CW likely wants to make sure they air some of their best episodes during July Sweeps, thus the one week hiatus.
