Interviewer: There are some people in Singapore, especially the younger people

who say, why are we so worried about economic growth?

Why do we need 4% growth? Why can't we do with 2% or 1%?

Can you explain to me what it would mean in our lives, the lives of citizens,

if you have 2% or 1% growth and that carries on for 5 years? What happens to Singapore?

PM Lee: I think the mood will change dramatically.

We have been used to high growth - 5%, 6%, 7%

That is what we have been doing over the last decade until the financial crisis.

There's a certain lift, optimism, vibrancy excitement,

new things happening, each time you come back the place is different.

All my visitors tell me, Singapore has changed since the last I was here 5, 10 years ago.

If you go to 1% or 2% growth, well life is not getting worse.

but life will not be getting better in the same way.

If you look at the countries which are in that position,

Japan, the European countries, America after the global financial crisis, for some time.

You get an angst, a fractiousness, a despondency.

A whole gloom settles over the society,

and you say - why is it next year is not better than this year?

And we want so many things to be better.

Poor people to be less poor, healthcare to be improved,

schools to be improved, housing to be improved

The only we can do that is to grow.

If you do not grow, there is no where to get those resources to make our lives better

Interviewer: Would it mean no 13th month bonus,

that families will go for fewer trips abroad?

PM Lee: Well, that I think will be for a start.

What we have got used to every year,

a million people or several million people travel abroad, in Singapore.

I think that is the lifestyle we have got used to.

If you can no longer sustain that lifestyle,

then I think you are going to feel it very very deeply.

Not immediately, but progressively it is going to happen.

Your children want a better life than you.

My children want a better life than me.

But how can all our children have better lives than us if when it reaches their generation

the economy is smaller than it is today?

The Hunt for Asteroids - NASA is Hunting for Near-Earth Objects - Duration: 3:20.

The Hunt for Asteroids - presented by Science@NASA

A few NASA-funded astronomer teams are always on the hunt for potentially hazardous near-Earth objects,

asteroids and comets whose orbits periodically bring them within 30 million miles of Earth's orbit.

At NASA, the Planetary Defense Coordination Office supports the search programs,

while also planning and coordinating any response to possible asteroid impacts.

Lindley Johnson Heads up this NASA office.

"We oversee several NASA-supported search programs that detect and track near-Earth objects,"

"The rate of asteroid discovery has increased considerably due to these dedicated astronomers

and to upgraded telescopes coming online in recent years."

As part of NASA's planetary defense strategy, the Center for Near Earth Object Studies

at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory analyzes the data collected on near-Earth objects

and publishes the running statistics on numbers and types discovered.

"After almost 20 years of searching, over 93% of the near-Earth objects larger than one kilometer (.62 miles)

are already discovered. The focus is now on finding 90% of those larger than 140 meters (450 feet).

Almost 7,700 of these are now being tracked, but we believe there are still over twice that number out there to be found."

NASA is not only hunting asteroids, it's also working on ways to defend Earth against them.

Astrodynamicists at the Center for Near Earth Object Studies predict orbits a century into the future

to determine whether there are any risks for impact.

"Asteroid impacts are predictable and preventable.

If we can find them before they strike, we can precisely predict their paths and time of possible impact.

And we now have the space technologies to divert them."

For example, if an approaching asteroid were detected early enough,

its path could be altered by using a large spacecraft as a 'gravity tractor.'

It would fly alongside the asteroid for an extended time and slowly pull it out of Earth's path

using nature's virtual tug-rope -- gravity.

Another method involves sending a heavy, high-speed spacecraft into the path of an approaching object

to strike it at the right time and place. This technique, called the kinetic impactor,

could slow or speed up the asteroid into a different trajectory, away from the Earth's path.

And then there's the Hollywood option.

"This is a last resort measure, It involves exploding a device close enough to an asteroid

that the super-heated surface material blows off, creating a powerful, rocket-like push.

Though quite effective if time is short, it would take a lot of coordination and approval

not only within the U.S. government, but also with the international community.

Another reason we should find any impactors as early as possible is so more benign methods can be used."

All these techniques are in some stage of study or design.

Meanwhile, the hunt for potentially hazardous asteroids goes on.

"After all, at NASA every day is an Asteroid Day."

Senator Bernie Sanders wants the federal government to provide a $15-per-hour-job

to every American who wants one. It's hard to overstate how silly this

proposal is. Taxes could never be raised, and existing programs could never be cut

enough to finance this policy at the level required, and the government could

not possibly come up with enough jobs to satisfy its obligations under this plan.

This cartoonish proposal is predicated in part on the notion that there are "bad

jobs", jobs that are beneath the dignity of what a reasonable person should

expect from employment. It's true, of course, that many jobs are physically

demanding and pay relatively little. But it's also true that work confers dignity

and is virtuous. Flipping burgers for $10 an hour isn't a bad job. It's an

opportunity to build skills and climb the employment ladder; it's an

opportunity to provide for yourself and your family; it's an opportunity to make

a contribution to your community and to society. All leaders should encourage

work. Leaders shouldn't denigrate – even unintentionally – the jobs held by

millions of hardworking Americans. That message is counterproductive. Messages matter.

platforms how to use video there so one big thing about online is we get told to

build your list with email so having a quick look at this course as Adam says

here it's not directly about list building even though YouTube is a great

way to build your list but here we have just all the tips and tricks you're ever

going to need about how to create a name email series how to write those emails

other part I like about the video creation is Adam goes through how to

he actually uses so over to the right hand side here all these different tips

and about creating awesome videos from lighting to microphones to using

third-party software to create your videos so this is how you can make your

videos pop and make yourself really stand out now my favorite part of this

course is about ranking so this is how we can use SEO and a lot of different

tips and tricks to get your videos to rank in YouTube

now with this section here my favorite course within the course is the

suggested videos so yes it's great to be able to rank YouTube videos but if

you're able to get your video to rank in the right-hand side column of a

suggested video in the suggested video section that's how you can get so many

more eyeballs onto your videos which helps you to then rank even higher but

it's not about trying to battle or trying to outrank other people who may

have videos ranking higher than you this is about getting yourself to piggyback

off of them and this is worth the price of admission inside this course so

across the right hand side there's ant there's what's that seven or eight

videos there that you can go through that show you how to get your video to

appear in the suggested videos it even goes through how to really rank on

YouTube and this is another one of my favorites

along with right hand side mastery now I'm actually going to blur out some of

the lessons on the right hand side because they're that valuable

I think the topics of these videos will actually give away some of the actual

tricks so I'd rather not divulge what Adams tips and tricks are but this is

another one that's well worth the price of admission inside video marketing

insider so Adam shows you how to rank what the

ranking factors are and then how you can even manipulate and use these factors in

your favor to get your video to rank but as we showed you before if you can't

quite get your video to rank and you've done everything possible and someone's

got a video that's just really ranking higher it's been around longer or got

thousands more views than what you have then we can use the piggyback method

which was the right hand side mastery which was the course I just showed you

before so that's not the flan course right there

so I'm going to leave it there for now as far as part one of this introduction
