Which Kind of Rice is Best for Your Figure?|HFE♪ - Duration: 8:03.

Which Kind of Rice is Best for Your Figure?

When we want to watch our line, we often start to pay more attention when eating certain food products such as rice, pasta and bread.

We should know which is the best kind of rice to meet our goals.

Thanks to its versatility and pleasant flavor, rice makes for a great side dish for many meals.

Who hasn't used rice as a side dish at some point? However, healthy eating trends and weight control goals make us ask ourselves, which variety of rice is the best for our figure? White or brown? Below, we'll bust some rice myths and unveil the true answer.

Which one should we eat? When it comes to rice, we've heard plenty of things.

People have said that rice makes us gain weight and shouldn't be included in diets.

They also say that brown rice has more properties or that white rice doesn't have any health benefits.

How true are all of these statements? Rice is a common grain in gastronomy.

White and brown rice, although they look similar, have different nutritional values that are worth knowing.

We'll especially want to know them if we need to lose or maintain weight.

Which kind of rice is best for our waistline? The difference between them is how they're processed; in other words, after their harvest.

Let's take a look at the characteristics of each one.

Brown rice Brown rice are whole grains of rice.

So, they don't undergo any sort of refining process and conserve their natural state.

When passing through the mill, brown rice retains its outer layer, which covers the grain, thus giving them a higher concentration of nutrients.

Brown rice keeps its wheat germ and bran, which is why it has a higher fiber content than its white counterpart.

Some nutrients that brown rice conserves are: Magnesium.

This is an important mineral for our bones.

Selenium. A source of essential vitamins for our DNA as well as for thyroid gland regulation.

Manganese. A mineral that's a power antioxidant.

One cup of brown rice provides 88% of our body's daily needs.

White rice This grain variety has a more delicate and smooth texture.

When passing through the mill, white rice loses its bran and wheat germ.

As a result, it loses a big percentage of its natural nutrients, including zinc, magnesium and selenium.

Though a small portion of said nutrients are left behind, the quantities are much lower than those of brown rice. Because the process removes these components, produces often enrich white rice with B group vitamins and iron.

Calories and nutrients in both rice cases When trying to lose weight, if we compare their nutrition facts, we'll notice that there isn't a big difference between white and brown rice.

To give an example, 100 grams of each product has a similar amount of calories, 361 in white and 345 in brown.

Their fat contents aren't that different, and white rice actually has less fat than brown rice does.

In the case of carbohydrates, we won't notice a huge difference there either.

Though brown rice does have slightly less than white rice.

However, we will notice a difference in their fiber content.

Brown rice provides much more than white rice.

One cup of brown rice covers at least 15% of the daily recommend amount of fiber.

The importance of fiber When we're trying to maintain or lose weight, fiber-filled foods can be a big help.

Why is that? First off, fiber-rich foods provide the stomach with extra volum and help us feel fuller.

Feeling full prevents us from snacking in addition to keeping us satisfied for longer periods of time and helping us to control cravings.

They're highly recommendable for people who are looking to lose weight.

Furthermore, fiber regulates digestion, which helps cleanse the body and keep it running smoothly.

The best kind of rice Both varieties of rice has similar caloric, carbohydrate and fat values.

However, which is better for you? Because the grain–the wheat germ and bran– is intact, brown rice boasts more nutrients.

Among those nutrients, we can find fiber, which we need to feel fuller for longer as well as to control cravings between meals.

In addition, brown rice has selenium, manganese, magnesium and loads of healthy antioxidants.

Sure, white and brown rice are similar.

However, the factor that makes brown rice the better choice for weight loss is its fiber. Fiber keeps us from snacking in between meals.

Land Tax - who determines the values used for assessment notices? - Duration: 2:41.

Ever wondered where the values on your land tax assessment notice come from?

You're not alone.

Matt and Jane recently received their first land tax assessment notice.

Matt had questions about the values used on their assessment notice

and went to the Land Tax page on the WA Department of Finance website

to find out more information,

since that's who issued the assessment notice.

He discovered;

It's the Valuer–General who determines the value of the land

and they're based at Landgate, not the Office of State Revenue.

Unimproved values are indicative of land at its market value under normal sales conditions,

assuming that no structural improvements have been made.

Land tax rates are tiered.

Assessments are based on the combined value of all the taxable property

held in the same ownership.

It's referred to as aggregation.

This means the tax rate depends on the total value of all the property

owned by the same owners or the aggregated assessable value.

Importantly, property owned individually will be assessed separately to land owned jointly

or land that is held in trust.

Because of the location of our properties,

they are also subject to Metropolitan Region Improvement Tax or MRIT.

MRIT is an annual tax on land in the metropolitan region.

It's a special purpose tax used to finance the cost of providing land for roads,

open spaces,

parks and similar public facilities.

Questions regarding the value of your property should be directed to Landgate – Valuations and Property Analytics

on 08 9273 7373.

You can access the Land tax page on the WA Department of Finance website

for more information about land tax and your assessment notice.

You can also submit a web enquiry via

www.osr.wa.gov.au/landtaxenquiry

or call the Land Tax enquiry line on 08 9262 1200

between 8:30 and 4:30 Monday to Friday.

Social Foundations for Planetary Boundaries, Planetary Boundaries and Human Opportunities 6-2-1 - Duration: 5:10.

Hello, my name is Sarah Cornell and I'm a Researcher at the Stockholm Resilience Centre.

I'm going to talk about the social foundations for planetary boundaries. Back in 1987 the

Brundtland Report defined sustainability as how many between humans and nature and how

many among people? In other words, environmental processes and social processes have to be

working together for us to achieve global sustainability. In 2009 Rockström and his

colleagues defined planetary boundaries globally for biophysical processes. And what many people

see is a rather abstract conceptualization of the Earth system. But human factors are

really important. They weren't dealt with explicitly in the global planetary boundaries

framework, but human processes are the causes of many of these changes, and human communities

and societies will feel the consequences of the changes. We're an important part of the

Earth system, and we need a framework that helps us to deal with the biophysical changes

and the social changes at the same time. A couple of years ago at the Rio+20 conference

this challenge of global sustainability was the main topic that brought the world's nations

together. We recognize that we're increasingly pushing the world into biophysical unsustainability,

but we've also got major social unsustainability problems too. If we want to apply the planetary

boundaries framework in practice, which really means applying it at sub-global levels, we

have to address the human dimensions, the human drivers and impacts of environmental

change. Back in 2012, for the Rio+20 conference, Oxfam proposed what we now call the Oxfam

Donut. Oxfam is a campaigning group for relieving problems of poverty. And they recognize the

importance of the planetary boundaries as setting out the environmental ceiling for

the safe operating space for humanity. But they also argued that for a fair and just

world we need to recognize the social foundations of that safe operating space too. They argued

that any framework or vision of sustainable development for the world that we now live

in needs to recognize that eradicating poverty and increasing justice all around the world

is intimately tied to the biophysical processes of ecological sustainability too. This focus

on really linking people with planetary sustainability is an active area of research and conversation

between science and policy at the moment. This figure shows some work that was done

recently by the global change science community really emphasizing, that our social processes

and above all our economic processes need to happen within the constraints that are

presented by the functioning of the Earth system. We have some practical experience

in linking social activities and these global environmental changes. For example at the

global level, the International Convention on Biological Diversity recognizes the importance

of local and traditional knowledge as an important part of protecting ecosystems and preventing

the loss of biodiversity. We have many community level initiatives for sustainability. You

may be familiar with the Transition Towns, for instance. That starts to recognize the

importance of everybody's action at the local level to contribute to global sustainability

as well. In Transition Towns people are working together to see how their everyday activities

can reduce their carbon emissions and reduce the pressure on climate change. Businesses

are also engaging in ways of reducing their environment impact, and they need our encouragement

at every step. Fairtrade products are one example and certification systems that reduce

the impact on ecosystems, fisheries, forests, and so on. These are very practical approaches

where we're trying to see how our local social activities reduce the pressures on global

environmental dynamics. We need many more of these activities, and we need many more

to engage in them all around the world. But these show us that we're moving in the right

direction. Global sustainability fundamentally means recognizing Earth's biophysical processes

and, that they set the conditions for our human and social activities on Earth. We need

to be constantly aware of the consequences of our choices and activities on the ecosystems

on which all of humanity depends. And we need to bear in mind that the choices we make can

either harm or safeguard the human values of fairness and global justice.

How to Care for Newly Pierced Ears?

It's important to take good care of your newly pierced ears so they'll heal properly.

Clean your ears twice a day while they heal and avoid handling your piercings when you

don't have to.

Be gentle with your piercings to avoid injury or infection and enjoy your new fashion statement!

Wash your hands with antibacterial soap before touching your ears!

Be sure to wash your hands thoroughly right before handling your earrings.

This will prevent you from transferring bacteria to your ears with your fingers.

Use an antibacterial soap to ensure that your hands are as clean as possible.

Lather your hands with soap and wash them for a full 10-15 seconds to kill germs.

Clean your ears twice a day with soap and water!

Lather a mild soap between your fingers until it is foamy.

Gently rub the soap onto the front and back of your piercings.

Carefully wipe your ears with a clean, wet cloth to remove the soap.

Use a saline cleaning solution as an alternative to soap and water!

Ask your piercer to recommend a sea salt-based cleanser to care for your newly pierced ears.

This will clean your piercings without over-drying the skin.

Swab the front and back of your piercings with the cotton ball or swab saturated in

the cleaning solution.

There is no need to rinse your ears after applying the saline solution.

Apply rubbing alcohol or an antibiotic ointment twice a day for 2-3 days!

Disinfecting your ear piercings will cut down the chance of infection and speed up the healing

process.

Dab rubbing alcohol or antibiotic ointment to your ears with a cotton ball or swab.

Discontinue this after a few days, as prolonged of these treatments can dry the sites of your

piercings and make it harder for them to heal.

Rotate the earrings gently while the skin is still wet!

Grasp the back of your earrings and rotate them carefully right after cleaning the area.

This will prevent the piercings from closing too tightly around the jewelry while they

heal.

You should only do this while your ears are still wet.

Twisting your new piercings when your skin is dry may cause it to crack and bleed, resulting

in a longer healing time.

Steelers' Le'Veon Bell Explains Reason for Holdout Length | Heavy.com - Duration: 2:40.

Steelers' Le'Veon Bell Explains Reason for Holdout Length | Heavy.com

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le'Veon Bell has finally made the call on when he'll end his holdout.

And while it's not the most popular decision, it's also not the worst-case scenario for fans who were hoping to see him back on the field.

As ESPN's Jeremy Fowler revealed Monday, Bell is expected to return to the Steelers in Week 7, which is the team's bye week.

While Bell will miss upcoming games against the Atlanta Falcons and Cincinnati Bengals, it's a better outcome than if he had sat out until Week 10.

After the news came out, Fowler spoke with Bell about the holdout and decision, and the running back admitted why he opted to push it into the season.

Le'Veon Bell's Injury and Workload Concerns.

In a brutally honest comment, Bell said he was concerned about injury and because of that, knew he couldn't play 16 games with 400-plus touches.

"But I've gotta take this stand.

Knowing my worth and knowing I can tear a ligament or get surgery at any time, I knew I couldn't play 16 games with 400 or more touches.".

Based on the workload numbers, Bell's projection likely wouldn't have been far off.

In 15 games last season, the All-Pro running back totaled 406 touches, and in 12 games the season prior he racked up 336.

You can't fault the Steelers for getting the ball into the hands of their best players, but Bell wasn't willing to risk another injury without the guaranteed payday he felt was fair.

Regardless, Steelers fans will now either see the talented running back on the field in Week 8, or they'll watch him play in another uniform if the team opts to trade him.

Easy Guitar Solo Tutorial For Beginners Based On BB King Guitar Style - Duration: 13:07.

hello this is Greg Michael and this is the second installment of this lesson

and we are doing for complete beginners about playing in BB KIng Blues Box

so in this lesson I'm going to extend the BB King Blues box by adding

additional nodes and you play guitar and you have experience you you each to you

each for more pans and and and vibrato but I tried not to do it because we are

doing this in next lesson so yes I mean my plane was a bit limited this time but

I put the limitation on by myself just just to kind of simplify the process and

and and to focus more on on notes writer than on being expressive we're gonna add

on to to our to our DB King Blues box that just to remind you looks like that

so the notes are on the string 212 on string 111 on string 3 but we never as I

said in previous lesson we never kind of start from from from this tree because

those notes I'm not that great to finish now maybe with exception of this one but

but I guess the best thing is to to always finish on this one for now as a

beginner okay so in today's lesson we are going to extend the possibilities

within this little box so on the string of the free we are going to add three

notes or actually two extra notes so you had this 11 right this finger but now I

will tell you that with a string and put the finger number one on the 9th fret

strain free time you can I use the second finger and then that thing it

goes another that string so you go and

then if you wanted to jump to this root as I did so I recommend that you do it

you know I don't recommend that it

because you just kind of cut cut out some good fingerings that the dots are

possible you know so for now i really suggest that you stick to it to my

suggestions and this is something we've done i guess like the last time this is

actually quite nice guitar lick and you know guitar licks is something that you

should be learning you know that just phrases that can be can be using in

different scenarios and and they will never let you down they were always

sound good there would be part of your vocabulary same way as ulaana languages

you have to learn certain phrases in order to communicate with people and

there's no difference when you play guitar you have to just believe

vocabulary that you learn as you can see this is so that's the facet extension

that you can you can apply now the second one is adding this energy on the

fret 11 of strength one so so we kind of played this chromatic run before we had

only

so we go nice so I went up from the notes D to denote e and a nicely now

what happens if I go it also works when I when I when I just stay on this note

here called e weitzer and and played the root note I'm gonna put it in context of

the backing track

it's all about the riddle or it's also about the rhythm and right now the right

note and the right rhythm equals music

if you turn everything that you can well it's gonna sound well what if we reverse

that

as making work to make it work by extending to learn the duration of

setting now to allow the rhythm to it you cannot

resolve the face and just do a rock to wait until the right for the right okay

there is one mode that this one one extra note that we are adding to it to

this thing today and would be dissin up here it's located on a fret 13 on string

P so we do

gee so if we if we play we want to use pinky

we still want to be able to use your ring finger fall on the 12th fret option

D if you want to learn in this atomic

oh gee this is nice and dissonant long

yeah meeting to kind of do all those baths

you know because uh people that know this quite special it it's the - that

this nose from the casa component you shouldn't from the cusp of conduct you

shouldn't be here music but you know in this context of this passive work

started we do it sounds really amazing and I do this what tone band that I

probably talked about in the previous lesson where where I was abandoned is

not here what it

what atomic show so some star with this from here there's no to see but you want

to go in between C and C sharp on the tuner and you need to hit the two

o'clock on this rock face on edge

which is very hard for the Chilean activity just to stop them because

you'll be touching everything that is known is wrong that's completely fine

but this is not the part of this lesson so I'm not going to talk about it

anymore we will do it next time so for now check this out even the man aside

you start on it

follow by 12 I'm using this certainly Coulter hammer-on which is just press

down

without this nice no fear bonus made money that gives a lot of tension now

I'll fight something in the beginning of this lesson well I think I did this it's

kind of nice and repeating like that is based on this traumatic water on the

e-string says 12 4 by 13 on the beat you just kind of continues to play

I can I can go any way I can I can just just

so this is your time to think about the next mythical idea so apply the

repeating me and aloud but you have to do the rest just wait until the right to

the core device so there is no need to play as you can see all those thick

shapes on the guitar yet especially if you don't have time especially if you do

it I mean if you plug your ties you as your hobby and you let's be honest you

know you let's say you have either full time work or you study you are not going

to spend to five hours on practicing guitar I think this is a great place to

start for you you know basic shape we had those extra notes here we are also

other dis note and we can play okay I think that for today we are fine we are

done I think I'm not gonna add any anymore information because it'll be

great if you go and take it away and practice with it you know and try to do

it over backing tracks that are generally more in major key any kind of

classic rock that is based in may on major key in a would work and next time

we'll be playing we'll be talking about the vibrato technique and and banding

string bending for complete beginners so I hope to see you next time and for now

I will say goodbye but just before I go consider subscribing to my youtube

channel and hit the like button if you enjoyed this video and make any comment

under the video because you know it it's good to know that someone actually is
