Waching daily Oct 4 2018

Hi friends! ... In today's video we are going to know about this. Are you thinking it is a brick? No it is not. This is coco peat block.

This is shredded coconut fiber that is made into small pieces , compressed and made into blocks in factories. We are going to know about its gardening uses.

Namaste I am Madhavi and welcome to" Mad Gardener" .

We shall see how to use this dry block .

The hard shell of the coconut is removed and the fiber is shredded into minute pieces, processed and later compressed into block and sold in market.

We use them in gardening.

We can either directly grow plants in coco peat or we can mix this coco peat in certain proportion in our soil mixes.

Now let's see how to use this dry block. It is available in 1kg , 2k, 5kgs and 10 kg block. Now let's see how to wet this block and use it

Let's wet this with water…

look at this.

This is a 5 kg block

it is written on the pack that it expands up to 70 kgs when soaked in water.

The main advantageous quality is to absorb water , due to which it is been used in our soil mixes.

I am loosening it…have you seen it absorb water? Let's give it some time.

Now look how it has absorbed water and turned like this. The kg block has absorbed approximately a can of water, which is 5 ltrs.

It is dry but still see how much water is coming out when squeezed. That means though it seems to be dry from outside see how much water is holded inside.

Due to this quality, we are using this in our soil medium . We can grow plants directly in this medium

or we can add some proportion of it in our soil mixes.

In soil less medium of growing plants we can say coco peat is the best medium.

We can grow plants by just planting in this medium…because the plant absorbs anything we add i.e water, nutrients etc and grows just as it grows in the soil.

Using of coco peat has many advantages and few disadvantages also. Let's know about them.

Firstly talking about the advantages or benefits of using coco peat … we have to talk about its water holding capacity . It absorbs the water quickly.

In the same way it absorbs the water that is watered and holds in it. The water is not stagnant , it absorbs the required water enlarges and leaves the excess. The drainage is also proper.

If you observe , you can see how porous it is .There are air spaces in it, due to which the roots of the plant that grows in this medium gets aerated

The soil is so loose. The root growth is rapid. The root system becomes strong and expands in search of nutrients, water or whatever it requires.

The plant will survive well and thrives well.

So if the root system is Proper , it is very advantages for the plant and the life span of the plant may extend.

. Due to this water retension quality the necessity to water the plant frequently also reduces.

In the previous video "Watering Techniques" we have discussed that sometimes the plant has to be watered according to the climatic changes and requirements.

But if we use coco peat in our soil mixes, we need not water frequently ,as it hold water for more time. The plants are not stressed and grow well.

The coco peat is very light weight , it is not heavy compared to the soil. In terrace gardening weight is also an issue. We have to consider how much weight our slab can withstand.

Due to its less weight coco peat is been used for terrace gardening, hanging baskets etc. This is an organic material as it comes from coconut waste.

Any organic material in course of time changes its shape and property and transforms into another form.

But coco peat does not deform so quickly. So we can happily use this in our soil mixes. If we have to talk about the advantages of coco peat , we can go on….now let's talk about its disadvantages of coco peat.

We discussed that it has proper aeration, drainage etc.. If we plant in coco peat without adding any soil, the root can't anchor properly.

Whereas in the soil the roots have the grip The plant can't withstand the air, rain.

Or if watered with pressure it droops to a side. In the soil the roots search for nutrients and get what is available.

But in coco peat medium the plant has to be supplied additionally everything that is required .so this is a disadvantage

I am showing two containers. I have stored normal soil in this container with holes. Water was collected in it due to rains.

See how the soil is, how thick it is. This soil is not mixed with coco peat or anything else.

Just imagine how the poor root has to push itself and spread in such a thick medium.

Look at the other pot in which coco peat is added in the soil mix. Look at the soil. Now compare the two, See the difference. Both the pots have holes.

There is moisture in both the soils, look at the difference.

We have discussed about coco peat and its advantages. Due to its vast advantage most of us have started using coco peat .

If you have not started yet, I suggest you to start using it in your gardening.

Because if we happened to skip watering plants due to health issues, guests etc we can't take the risk at the cost of our plants life. We can feel relaxed if we use coco peat .

Happy Gardening.

Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS III USM Hands On Review 📸 Mert Gündoğdu - Duration: 12:54.

Hi Guys,

today we are going to review the

Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8 III version

now let's start our review

First of all let's explain the name of this lens

Canon Zoom lens EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS III USM

it has a pretty long name isn't it

Zoom lens means this lens can be zoom at 70 to 200mm

EF Means that we can use this lens in all Canon D-SLR bodies

70-200mm is the focal length of this lens

f/2.8 is the widest aperture value

both in 70 and 200mm it is f/2.8

L stands for Luxury which is letter uses dor Canon's higher segment lenses

also this red ring is the symbol of L series as well

IS means the image stabilizer

in this lens we have a 3.5 stop IS

III means that this is the third version of this lens

USM is the ultra sonic auto focus motor

let's continue to our review with the body design

let's put the lens on the table

as you may see there are design differences between with the previous version

the first think is the color of this lens has been changed

now it is more whiter than the old version

when we look at the lenses side by side

70-200mm logo has been changed and the IS and usm logos placed on the new lens

and also on the down side of the lens there is a Image Stabilizer logo on it but on the newer version we don't have that logo

also these rings has been changed and improved on the ergonomics side

ı will explain the buttons on the side of this lens

first switch is 1.20m to Infinity and the second one is 2.5m to Infinity

this is the focus distance limiter of this lens

1.2m is the minimum focus distance on this lens

first one is the unlimited version but when you switch to 2.5m to Infinity

and the minimum focus distance starts from 2.5m

with this feature if your shooting object is above the 2.5m you will not waste your time to focus

second switch is the AF - MF switch

third one is the IS ON and OFF switch

There are 2 IS modes as well

mode 1 is for general shooting

mode 2 is ideal for pan shootings just something like automobile, animals ets

we see the Hyperfocal legth area here

let's have look around the lens once again

and the serial number is 32 which is amazing :)

this lens's filter size is 77mm

if you are going to buy a filter it's filter size must be 77mm

Let's look at the inside of the lens

we have a metal mount and also a black velvet coating

we can feel the quality here

this area is the proof that this lens if suitable for all bad weather conditions

dust, water splash proof.

when we look at the weight of this lens,

approx. it is 1.48kg

if you are buying f/2.8 zoom lens you have to carry heavy lenses

there are huge optics inside

and also a IS mechanism

when they are all combined 1.48 kg is not that much

I told that there are 3.5 stops of IS at this lens

previous version of this lens has 4 stops but

at this version it is 3.5 stops but this due to the changes has been made on the CIPA standards

while the launch of this 70-200mm third version standards changed

and so the IS stop degree comes 0.5 stops down

this also means that the old versions stop degree also dropped down as well

there are 23 elements and

19 groups at this lens

we also had a 8 aperture blades as well

so we can shoot great photos with flawless bokehs

Lens has a widest aperture degree of 2.8 and the maximum is f/32 supported

our minimum focus distance is 1.2meters

Everybody curious about the differences between this and the previous version of this lens

they both have the same optics inside

and the same IS System

first think is the new body design that I already talked about on the video

and the second one and the most important think is the new coatings of this lens

Air Sphere Coating and Super Spectra Coating

these two upgraded coatings are

especially on reverse light or while shooting towards to light source

has a better ghosting and flaring performance

And who needs this lens?

this lens especially logical for Full Frame body owners

if you are owning an APS-C 1.6x sensor camera focal length will be

112 to 320 mm

as I said before this lens good for FF Sensored cameras

70-200mm is suitable for all kinds of photography such as

Portrait, wedding, fashion, landscape, event, concert, sport etc

this lens it's just like a swiss knife.

We have the AF performance test of this lens now.

70-200mm @70mm

70-200mm @200mm

70-200mm - Hand Hold - IS ON

70-200mm - Hand Hold - IS OFF

and now it is time for aperture test

let's start our test

we have all the combinations here both shot on 70mm and 200mm starting from f/2.8 to f/16

fist I will show the 70mm f performance

and than the 200mm performance

@70mm f/2.8

@70mm f/3.2

@70mm f/4

@70mm f/5.6

@70mm f/6.3

@70mm f/7.1

@70mm f/8

@70mm f/10

@70mm f/13

@70mm f/16

as you may see now we can read the name of the lens on the below

we can see the differences between the trees

and let's jump to 2.8 once again to see the difference between 16

we can see the bokehs on the f/2.8 which are so circular and sweet :)

I made my focus manually to 35mm lens

we can see how sharp is the photo

and you may see the bokeh performance once again,

it is time for the 200mm

let's look at the performance

my focus set on manual to the 35mm again

starting from f/2.8 to f/16

200mm F/3.2

200mm f/4

200mm f/5.6

200mm f/6.3

200mm f/7.1

200mm f/8

200mm f/11

200mm f/13

200mm f/16

we can see the below lens once again at f/16

it is not that obvious but we can see the lens

we can see the 24-70mm writings with a soft blur

let's go the f/2.8

200mm f/2.8 has a fantastic performance

and finally our sharpness test

lets look at the 200mm performance of this lens

now our TV is 1/400

I will increase the exposure a little bit

to see the test in a better way

%100 magnification

at 2.8

%100 not enough lets go to %300 !!

it gives a great sharpness even %300

lets go to corners

we see a corner darkness

which is a normal thing

the lines are sharp even at %300

on the CA section

we see a better performance from 70mm

there some CA on the 70mm on these lines

I just see a CA on this section

just 4 line before let's say

let's change the aperture

now I am at f/8

just a quick look at %100

and now %400 let's push our boundaries

we can see the 1750 letters really clear

there are no CA as well

let's look at %200 now

let's continue our review on this magnification

lines are separate and crispy

%400 now

we are looking 4 times bigger than the regular photo

really high resolution

we see the lines are crisp and separate from each other just like %200 magnification

we can see a little CA due to being at %400

but we can minize it from the lens profile section

if you open the enable profile correction and Remove CA

you can delete it

I don't have this profile yet because this lens so brand new.

this update will came to Camera Raw Plug-in.

and lastly let's look at the f/16

at 200mm

I am not even looking at %100

directly jumping to %400

even at f/8 it has a great results so f/16 is also greater than that

on the sharpness test Canon 70-200m is a real beast !

Which Kind of Rice is Best for Your Figure?|HFE♪ - Duration: 8:03.

Which Kind of Rice is Best for Your Figure?

When we want to watch our line, we often start to pay more attention when eating certain food products such as rice, pasta and bread.

We should know which is the best kind of rice to meet our goals.

Thanks to its versatility and pleasant flavor, rice makes for a great side dish for many meals.

Who hasn't used rice as a side dish at some point? However, healthy eating trends and weight control goals make us ask ourselves, which variety of rice is the best for our figure? White or brown? Below, we'll bust some rice myths and unveil the true answer.

Which one should we eat? When it comes to rice, we've heard plenty of things.

People have said that rice makes us gain weight and shouldn't be included in diets.

They also say that brown rice has more properties or that white rice doesn't have any health benefits.

How true are all of these statements? Rice is a common grain in gastronomy.

White and brown rice, although they look similar, have different nutritional values that are worth knowing.

We'll especially want to know them if we need to lose or maintain weight.

Which kind of rice is best for our waistline? The difference between them is how they're processed; in other words, after their harvest.

Let's take a look at the characteristics of each one.

Brown rice Brown rice are whole grains of rice.

So, they don't undergo any sort of refining process and conserve their natural state.

When passing through the mill, brown rice retains its outer layer, which covers the grain, thus giving them a higher concentration of nutrients.

Brown rice keeps its wheat germ and bran, which is why it has a higher fiber content than its white counterpart.

Some nutrients that brown rice conserves are: Magnesium.

This is an important mineral for our bones.

Selenium. A source of essential vitamins for our DNA as well as for thyroid gland regulation.

Manganese. A mineral that's a power antioxidant.

One cup of brown rice provides 88% of our body's daily needs.

White rice This grain variety has a more delicate and smooth texture.

When passing through the mill, white rice loses its bran and wheat germ.

As a result, it loses a big percentage of its natural nutrients, including zinc, magnesium and selenium.

Though a small portion of said nutrients are left behind, the quantities are much lower than those of brown rice. Because the process removes these components, produces often enrich white rice with B group vitamins and iron.

Calories and nutrients in both rice cases When trying to lose weight, if we compare their nutrition facts, we'll notice that there isn't a big difference between white and brown rice.

To give an example, 100 grams of each product has a similar amount of calories, 361 in white and 345 in brown.

Their fat contents aren't that different, and white rice actually has less fat than brown rice does.

In the case of carbohydrates, we won't notice a huge difference there either.

Though brown rice does have slightly less than white rice.

However, we will notice a difference in their fiber content.

Brown rice provides much more than white rice.

One cup of brown rice covers at least 15% of the daily recommend amount of fiber.

The importance of fiber When we're trying to maintain or lose weight, fiber-filled foods can be a big help.

Why is that? First off, fiber-rich foods provide the stomach with extra volum and help us feel fuller.

Feeling full prevents us from snacking in addition to keeping us satisfied for longer periods of time and helping us to control cravings.

They're highly recommendable for people who are looking to lose weight.

Furthermore, fiber regulates digestion, which helps cleanse the body and keep it running smoothly.

The best kind of rice Both varieties of rice has similar caloric, carbohydrate and fat values.

However, which is better for you? Because the grain–the wheat germ and bran– is intact, brown rice boasts more nutrients.

Among those nutrients, we can find fiber, which we need to feel fuller for longer as well as to control cravings between meals.

In addition, brown rice has selenium, manganese, magnesium and loads of healthy antioxidants.

Sure, white and brown rice are similar.

However, the factor that makes brown rice the better choice for weight loss is its fiber. Fiber keeps us from snacking in between meals.

Blake Griffin's Comedy Career Is Now Back on Hold | Heavy.com - Duration: 4:44.

Blake Griffin's Comedy Career Is Now Back on Hold | Heavy.com

A move from Los Angeles to Detroit was undoubtedly a significant change for Pistons superstar Blake Griffin.

Back in January, the collapse of the Los Angeles Clippers team chemistry forced them to send one of their most well-known players to another team in a blockbuster trade.

Griffin, along with Willie Reed and Brice Johnson was shipped off to Detroit for Tobias Harris, Avery Bradley, Boban Marjanovic, and multiple draft picks.

Griffin was shocked when he found out that he would be traded.

In the end, it was for the better as things grew sour in L.A.

for both parties.

From a basketball standpoint, Griffin seems comfortable out in Detroit as he looks to begin a new season with the Pistons.

But for his secondary career path, everything is going to have to be put on hold.

For those who are unaware, Blake Griffin is an aspiring stand-up comedian.

As shocking as it sounds, it's not new for a professional athlete to pick up a hobby or, two during their off time.

There have been instances where NBA players have turned to acting, rapping, or even cage fighting, but it's quite rare that someone attempts one of the most frightening career paths of all in stand-up comedy.

While living out in Los Angeles, Griffin was surrounded by one of the better comedy scenes in the United States.

Now, with his move out to Detroit, there isn't much he can do to further improve his act.

Therefore,  Griffin the comic is on hold as the NBA season approaches.

For that, Pistons' fans should be excited since there will be no distractions.

This isn't new for Griffin, as he began performing in 2016.

A video of Griffin at the Laugh Factory made it on to YouTube where everybody became surprised that an NBA player actually had a funny set.

If you haven't seen it, check it out!.

Griffin's First Set.

Is This a Legit Dream of His?.

Blake Griffin is serious about pursuing comedy.

This isn't a joke (pun intended).

While out in Los Angeles, Griffin planned to practically act as an intern to learn the nuts and bolts of how everything works within the craft.

And even though he's been traded, he still returned to his former NBA city from time to time to work on his performance.

So far, Griffin has yet to test out his skills in Detroit.

But we aren't counting on that happening.

With basketball season approaching, it seems as though Griffin is going to solely focus on the career that makes him millions of dollars, naturally.

So for now, we are left with the few videos that are sitting around the internet as we hope that one day Griffin gets back on track with comedy after the long NBA season.
