Jason Lewis Candidate For U.S. Representative District 2 - Duration: 3:02.

Hi everybody.

Congressman Jason Lewis here once again from Minnesota's second district.

You know early voting has started for the big election on November 6th.

There is so much at stake - keeping this economy going.

When I ran in 2016 it was on tax reform, tax cuts and getting a rising tide of economic

growth that would benefit everybody in the second district.

And I'm glad to say we did just that.

Now we've got rising after-tax take home pay going up five, six percent.

We have more job openings than job seekers.

The lowest jobless rate in 49 years.

And people are finding bonuses and wage hikes and even utility bills are being reduced.

That's because of the tax cut and jobs act that I was proud to support and help pass.

That's what's at stake in this election.

Plus things like career and technical education.

I've been working hard across the aisle on the education workforce committee and we

passed the Perkins bill reauthorization, which has my dual enrollment amendment in it that

allows kids to technical classes in high school.

We used to have shop classes and many schools don't have those anymore.

So we had to offer them this option and I'm glad to say that has now been signed into

law.

Juvenile justice with Democrat Bobby Scott I've been working on along with criminal

justice reform.

We've even taken on the Met Council.

That's right, for the first time in decades somebody is trying to get some accountability

towards regional government.

And we're leading the way in Washington.

You know all of those things are at stake, not to mention Medicare for all.

Now that is the latest scheme coming out of the Affordable Care Act that would actually

have a single payer government plan for everybody.

That means no more employer based insurance.

No more VA.

No more senior Medicare.

Everybody is thrown into the same system.

We can't afford that.

It's 32 trillion dollars and there's no way to pay for it.

Plus what's going to happen to health care when everybody is thrown into this free for

all socialized medical scheme.

I'm not for that.

I'm sad to say my opponent appears to be.

In fact when it comes to the differences in this campaign, look at the Enbridge pipeline

and our refinery in Rosemount Pine Bend.

They've gotta get that pipeline built.

I've been leading the way getting it built.

My opponent opposes it.

The same for a permanent repository Yucca Mountain down in Red Wing.

All of those things are crucial.

But you know what?

There's something else we need to talk about.

It's the elephant in the living room and that is who do you trust with power?

You know we've seen chaos in the last couple of years in Washington, DC and around the

country.

Town halls being crashed.

Offices threatened.

Even candidates threatened.

That sort of resistance movement cannot lead to good things and I will tell you if the

Democrats take over with Nancy Pelosi as speaker, Maxine Waters as chair of the financial services

committee and Adam Schiff as chair of intel, the government will come to a grinding halt

and we will have resistance not results.

That's what at stake in this election and that's why you need to get out and vote

on November 6th.

I'm Jason Lewis and thanks for listening.

Doug Wardlow Candidate for Attorney General - Duration: 1:38.

Hello.

I'm Doug Wardlow, and I'm running for Minnesota Attorney General.

I grew up in Eagan, graduated from Eagan High

School, and served as a state representative from Eagan from 2011 to 2013.

My wife Jenny and I now live in Prior Lake,

and we have three young children.

I want my kids to have the same opportunities here in Minnesota that I had.

I want them to grow up in a state where the streets are safe, the law is respected, and

the weakest among us are protected.

That's the job of the attorney general, and that's why I'm running.

I am going to take the politics out of the

Attorney General's office, protect consumers, fight for lower health care prices, rebuild

the office's criminal law division, combat human trafficking, and .  I will make sure

that Minnesota is fair and safe.

My opponent, Keith Ellison, has said that

he wants to use the office of the Attorney General to bring lawsuits against the President

and wage a political war.

Regardless of anyone's opinion of President Trump, it is inappropriate to use the Attorney

General's office to push a political agenda.

The Attorney General should enforce the laws of Minnesota, not play politics with

taxpayer dollars.

Keith Ellison has a history of publicly supporting

cop killers, and has he been credibly accused of domestic violence by multiple women.

He is not fit to be Minnesota's top law enforcement official.

I'm honored to have the endorsement of the

Minneapolis Police Union.

The law enforcement community knows that I will work effectively with them to keep our

families safe.

Minnesota is great to place to live and raise

a family.

As your Attorney General, I will work every day to keep it that way.

I humbly ask for your vote on Tuesday, November 6th.

Thank you.

Lesley Chester Candidate for 191 School Board - Duration: 2:37.

Hi, I am Lesley Chester.

For over six years, I have had teachers and colleagues encourage me to consider running

for Burnsville-Eagan-Savage District 191 school board, because of my voice as a parent with

a child with special needs and how valuable that would be for our school district.

I am passionate about education and I am running because I want to ensure our district 191

is truly accomplishing its mission that EVERY (and I mean EVERY) student is future ready

and community strong.

I believe that starts with developing diversity, equity and inclusion standards and policies

for the district to truly create a welcoming supportive educational experience for everyone.

We must go beyond cultural proficiency.

We must continue to address achievement gaps for our students and exploring alternatives

to help each student be successful in school.

We must look at other means of measuring education progress that is not just a test score.

We need to continue to value and support our wonderful teachers as well as the families

of our students.

All parents, especially ones with kids who struggle, like mine, it is critical to have

many supports surrounding your child to help them succeed.

I have always shared that the parents are the hub of the wheel that is their child and

community members, medical providers and especially teachers are all spokes in that wheel of support.

Without the spokes, the wheel doesn't work.

I am qualified for this vital role.

My 24 years of experience in the non-profit sector working for organizations including

Prevent Child Abuse Minnesota, St. Paul Youth Services, CampFire USA, the Eagan Foundation

and currently the SouthWest Metro Educational Foundation serving youth and families demonstrate

my knowledge and expertise for this position.

Also, I serve on the Advisory Board at Fraser providing a parent voice to help enhance and

improve their service delivery to kids and families.

I know my expertise in leading and operating non-profit organizations with regards to financial

management, governance and setting strategic goals will help further our district.

I have lived in Eagan for 21 years with my wonderful husband Patrick.

We have two amazing children attending school in our district.

Our son, Hunter is 13 and is in 8th grade at Eagle Ridge Middle School in the ASD Focus

Program for students with Autism.

Our daughter, Violet is 5 and is in Kindergarten at Rahn Elementary.

Let's work together to help EVERY student succeed in our schools.

I hope you will vote for me on November 6th.

Chris Dock Candidate For State Auditor - Duration: 2:10.

Hi, my name is Chris Dock and I am the candidate for Minnesota State Auditor from the Libertarian

Party of Minnesota.

I am running for State Auditor because this office aligns exceptionally well with my background

and skills.

I am not a politician by trade, but I feel that the office of State Auditor should not

be a political position – this role is designed to serve the interests of the people of Minnesota,

not the interests of the government or any political party.

The Democrats and Republicans control every aspect of government in our state.

Shouldn't the State Auditor be someone who is not affiliated with either of the two major

parties?

It's time to bring true independence to the office of State Auditor.

Every candidate for State Auditor is going to say that they will be independent, accountable,

and transparent.

But how can someone from one of the major parties truly be independent?

As State Auditor, my most important responsibility would be to provide financial oversight of

government operations on behalf of the taxpayers of Minnesota.

The office of State Auditor does not work for the government, it needs to work for the

people.

The State Auditor reviews 20 billion dollars in annual spending, and it would be my responsibility

to ensure the taxpayers receive the maximum value for their investment.

I would do everything within my authority to aggressively review and analyze all levels

of municipal spending.

The State Auditor should not only ensure that municipal financial statements are accurate,

the office should perform an analysis on the components of spending to identify areas of

waste and inefficiency.

I would implement a Report Card system that would rate each municipality's efficiency

in major areas of spending such as Employee Expenditures, Streets and Infrastructure,

Facilities, Parks and Recreation, Utilities, Legal and Consulting Fees, Information Technology,

Equipment and Vehicles, and so on.

This would allow the citizens to be properly informed on how efficiently their tax dollars

are being spent.

I am applying for the job of State Auditor, and everyone in the state is my potential

employer.

Please review my qualifications for the job requirements on my website at chrisdockforauditor.org.

I am qualified, independent, aggressive, and eager to work for the people of Minnesota.

Again, my name is Chris Dock, and I am running for State Auditor.

Thank you for your time, and I appreciate your consideration.

Anthony Brown Candidate For Court of Appeals 2 Judge - Duration: 2:00.

My name is Anthony Brown and I am a candidate for a judgeship on the Minnesota Court of

Appeals.

I am asking for your vote.

My qualifications for the Court of Appeals are indisputable.

I have been a trial and appellate lawyer for nearly twenty years.

I have represented clients at every level of the judicial system (including the Supreme

Court of the United States)---successfully.

Those clients include some of Minnesota's finest corporations and some of Minnesota's

poorest residents.

For years, I co-chaired the Innocence Project of Minnesota, a non-partisan organization

that helps free those who have been unjustly incarcerated.

Through these experiences that I have learned one thing for sure: Judges have too much power

and too little accountability.

That is because they rarely stand for election as the Minnesota Constitution requires.

Instead they are appointed by politicians and have seen how that has worked out in Washington,

D.C.

In fact, my opponent was appointed by Governor Dayton.

Governor Dayton or any politician is no better at choosing a judge than the people of Minnesota.

I believe that if the people of Minnesota should use the same good common sense to choose

a judge as they their doctor, their lawyers, even their mechanics.

You want a judge who is honest.

You want a judge who is respectful.

You want a judge who is smart and hardworking.

I will be that judge and I ask for your vote.

Mike Maguire Candidate for Eagan Mayor - Duration: 2:53.

[Open]

Hi, I'm Mike Maguire and for twelve years now it has been my honor and my privilege

to serve as your Mayor of Eagan.

Thank you for that honor and for your support and encouragement throughout my time as mayor.

I'm proud of what WE - elected leaders, city staff and citizens - have done together

to make Eagan one of the most successful cities & strongest communities in Minnesota.

That's why I'm running for re-election and hoping that I can earn your vote once

again.

[Body]

When I was first elected mayor we were facing the challenges of an historic recession:

Falling markets haulted the revitalization of Cedar Grove;

Lockheed Martin announced it's departure; and not soon after Delta and Northwest Airlines

merged.

But in a way that defines Eagan, we remained prudent, confident and patient.

12 years later . . . .

We've revitalized the Cedargrove with an Outlet Mall that has driven re-investment

in the area and more than 700 new homes.

The Lockheed Martin site has been re-invented as a regional shopping destination that many

in Eagan enjoy as well.

And of course, the old Northwest headquarters have given way to the Minnesota Vikings facility

which has attracted Twin Cities Orthepedics, Prime Therapeutics and others to northeast

Eagan with MUCH more still to come.

Today, with a AAA+ bond rating, Eagan has been named Minnesota's Fiscally Healthiest

City.

Median home values are UP year-after-year and city property tax rates remain among the

lowest in the region.

Today, Eagan has an 80,000 person daytime population with 59,000 jobs and a projected

70,000 jobs by 2040.

Beyond the numbers, we've worked to build a vibrant, inclusive and stronger community.

The historic Eagan Forward effort asked hundreds of Eagan citizens what they wanted to see

in Eagan.

We listened and are investing in public arts, neighborhoods and our bike and pedestrian

network.

And we've adjusted our park and community events to the needs of an aging and increasingly

diverse community.

[Close]

I've always felt that Eagan has a special way of doing things . . . the Eagan Way; Elected

leaders like me - along with city staff - working with citizens and the business community to

help keep Eagan growing, vibrant and moving forward.

I'm running for re-election because I want to continue to help navigate our Eagan way

through modernizing our fire department and adapting to the public safety & housing demands

that come from our success as a city and a community.

Again, thank you for the honor and the privilege of serving as your mayor.

I hope that once again I can earn your vote on November 6th.

Gary Hansen Candidate for Eagan City Council - Duration: 2:45.

Hello, I'm Eagan City Councilmember Gary Hansen.

It's my privilege to represent the interests of Eagan residents on the Council.

My objective is to keep Eagan moving in the right direction so it remains a great place

in which to live and work.

I'm proud of what we've accomplished and of my part in providing local and regional

leadership.

With your support, I look forward to serving another term.

I'm seeking re-election to continue to represent the City locally and in coordinated efforts

with other communities, the County, and the region.

I'm Eagan's representative on the Dakota Communications Center Board, working to assure

prompt and responsive police and fire service.

I provide leadership to support reliable and cost-effective public transit services as

a member of the Minnesota Valley Transit Authority and Suburban Transit Association Boards.

Through my work on the regional Transportation Advisory Board, I promote coordination of

regional transportation and transit initiatives, helping to ensure that our taxpayers get their

fair share of state and federal funding for operations and infrastructure.

In addition, I'm helping to advance the shared interests of metropolitan cities as

a member of the Metro Cities Board.

Over the past year, I led these efforts as Metro Cities president, representing the common

interests of 90 Twin Cities area communities before the Metropolitan Council, the Governor's

Office, and the legislature.

The choices that our Council has made have resulted in a thriving local economy, job

opportunities, and low property taxes.

We have the lowest per capita total expenditures among Minnesota cities of greater than 50,000

population and the seventh lowest property tax rate among cities of our size in the Twin

Cities region.

We are one of a select group of cities in the country to achieve AAA bond ratings from

both Moody's and S&P.

Last year, Eagan was rated Minnesota's fiscally healthiest city by the Minnesota Center for

Fiscal Excellence.

In addition, citing the City's economic development success, the Minneapolis/St. Paul

Business Journal described Eagan as the "Twin Cities' busiest 'burb' – a tribute

to our community development success.

During my tenure on the Council, our community has been continually recognized for local

government innovation, prudent fiscal management, budget transparency, and citizen engagement.

As Metro Cities president, I demonstrated leadership on critical regional issues.

Executive staff expressed appreciation for my service by commenting, "Metro Cities

would like to thank Gary for his stellar leadership as president.

He responded to the call of presidential duties with an unwavering ethos of public service,

dedication and intelligence."

These results warrant my continued Council service and the opportunity to achieve similar

performance in the future.

I'm Gary Hansen, and I ask for your support in re-electing me to the Eagan City Council.

Thank you.

Chris Wright Candidate For Governor - Duration: 3:02.

In a rigged election, what difference does it make if your leaders are already chosen,

as in a totalitarian state like China, or money-chosen, as in an oligarchy, like Minnesota

or Russia?

Both regimes exercise the gimmick of manipulated consent and deny democratic self-determination.

We could end the oligarchy with a simple law that said, "No candidate or party shall

buy time or space in the media.

All time and space in the media shall be free of charge to all candidates and elections

shall be no longer than eight weeks."

But, asking a money-chosen candidate to bring about campaign finance reform is like asking

a burglar to kick the money ladder out from underneath him when he gets to the second

story.

Well, fat chance.

The only ones who could possibly change our campaign finance laws would be an independent

candidate like me.

No one votes for someone they've never heard of.

That takes enormous sums of money.

And the money-choosers don't give candidates money out of the goodness of their hearts;

it's a quid pro quo.

Most people vote in their moral interests, not in their self-interests.

Voters think that the other side is morally wrong and they vote for the candidate who

best fits their moral framework.

Republicans vote for "Father Know Best."

Democrats vote for "Nurture Knows Best."

But the state is not your parent.

Tim Waltz and Jeff Johnson are nothing more than spoilers.

The duopoly has spoiled our economy, environment, and social policies.

Yet, they have the nerve to call independents 'spoilers' when, in fact, independents

have never had a chance to spoil anything.

But the money-chosen candidates think they're entitled to power and my votes; even though

they've never earned my votes.

Well, who says Republicans don't believe in entitlements?

But I intend on running to win.

If my pathetic two or three percent knocks out anyone, like Waltz, then he just didn't

do a good enough job of stealing my issues; like that idiot Al Gore could have done to

Ralph Nader in 2000.

Like Bernie Sanders said in 2016, "People are sick and tired of establishment politics."

Waltz and Johnson are thoroughly establishment.

So, which shall rule, money or Minnesotans?

Well, money, of course.

Despite the fact that the money-chosen candidates often have more allegiance to money than the

voters and have special interests write 90-percent of our laws, voters still have a remarkable

allegiance to these Benedict Arnold's.

Voters know their elections are rigged.

Some know the wealthy select their candidates long before a single vote is cast.

Obviously, you can't change the status quo by voting for the status quo, it gives them

no reason to change.

And, yet, people vote for these charlatans.

I'm in awe.

These politicians must be the cleverest politicians in the history of the world.

Not only have they gotten you to vote against your own self-interest, but, what's really

clever, is they've gotten you to 'THINK' against you own self-interest.

I find that to be very clever indeed, don't you?

Pot makes you cough, but politics makes you gag.

If you want something different, vote different.

Vote Wright for Governor and, with any luck, reveal to a doubting world what Minnesota

still can be.

Thank you.

Jim Kiner Candidate for State Rep. District 51A - Duration: 2:11.

Hi, I'm Jim Kiner and I'm running for State Representative in district 51A here

in Burnsville and Eagan.

It's kind of on the west side of 35E.

And I'm here to tell you a little bit about who I am and why I'm running.

I grew up in the Twin Cities area.

I went to Stillwater area high school where I met my now fiancé.

And went to Carleton College where I majored in economics and political science.

Then I went on to the U of M law school and graduated in 2013.

I've been out in practice as an attorney since then.

And nowadays when I pick up a newspaper or I turn on the TV, it seems like all you ever

see is a bunch of partisan politicians who are throwing mud at each other and blaming

people for problems instead of actually taking ownership of issues and crafting solutions

that are going to work for people.

And when I look around Minnesota today, I see that we've got a pretty strong economy

going on.

But it actually hasn't benefited all the working and middle class Minnesotans as much

as it should.

Because when I talk to people I hear them telling me about how their health insurance

premiums have risen dramatically in the last 8 to 10 years.

And maybe they've stabilized in the last few years, but it's just not enough for

working folks who are struggling to pay their bills.

And then we've got taxes in this state that don't make it any easier.

In Minnesota our lowest income tax bracket is higher than the highest income tax bracket

in about 22 other states.

And that's just not helping the working and middle class people in our district get

by.

So what I really want to focus on when I'm elected is working for you.

To make your life easier and let your pocketbook sit a little heavier in your pocket.

As the state doesn't take as much and your premiums aren't quite as high.

And that's who I am and why I'm running.

Thanks.

Jim Newberger Candidate for U.S. Senate - Duration: 2:41.

Hello I'm Jim Newberger and I'm running for the United States Senate.

A little bit about myself: I've been married for 27 years to my best friend Michele and

we have three grown kids.

And I have one grandbaby – number one – on the way.

I've worked as a full time EMT paramedic for 30 years at a level one trauma center

right here in the metro area.

And I currently live in Becker, Minnesota.

I serve on the Minnesota House of Representatives.

I'm in my third term and I'm the vice chair of the jobs and energy committee.

I'm running for the United States Senate for one simple reason – to give you a voice

in the U.S. Senate.

For over the past decade there's only been one voice in the U.S. Senate representing

five and a half million Minnesotans.

And that's been the voice of the progressive far left.

If you are in the moderate middle and go to the conservative right, you haven't had

a voice for over a decade.

And I'm running to give you one.

There are issues that we need to address.

First issue: health care.

Folks, my opponent, Senator Klobuchar, is a strong proponent, a proponent of health

care for all, Medicare for all is the name of the program.

This is a 32 trillion dollar expansion of a giant government program.

And folks that means you will lose your insurance.

If you're on Medicare, if you have private insurance or VA, we will all lose our insurance

and be put on one big government program that we can't afford.

I do not support that.

How about taxes?

I support you keeping more of your money.

And I support the Trump tax cuts.

How about refugee resettlement and immigration?

I support legal immigration and I look forward to working towards improving that situation.

For the last decade, as I said earlier, you have not had a voice in the U.S. Senate.

I will be your voice in the U.S. Senate because my opponent, Senator Klobuchar, has a 90 percent

rubber stamp voting record with the extreme progressive left.

I'm here to be your voice and to get things done.

May God bless you.

May God bless your family and let's work to make America great again.

Thank you.

I'm Jim Newberger.

Arlene Asencio Perkkio Candidate For Judge - 1st District Court 2 - Duration: 2:57.

Everyone deserves an opportunity to be heard.

When people come to court, they are often nervous

and anxious.

Coming to a fair and just ruling requires the patience to listen

to the facts, the diligence to research the law, and the willingness to admit

the judge doesn't know everything.

I'm Judge Arlene Perkkio, and I am running for re-election in the first judicial district.

It has been my privilege to serve as a Judge in the First District for

the past seven years.

People come to court for a variety of reasons.

They may want a divorce.

They may be facing eviction.

Some people face criminal charges, rightly or wrongly.

Victims of crimes come to court, seeking an opportunity

to speak about their experience, and express their wishes in regards to sentencing.

When someone is in a car accident, they may sue the other driver, seeking

compensation for their injuries and lost wages.

In every instance, when someone comes into my courtroom,

whether they have a lawyer or not, I listen to their experience, their position

on the law and the outcome they seek, and to the facts.

It is important to give everyone an opportunity to express their point

of view.

When the facts are in dispute, or the law is unclear, it is my job

to make a ruling.

I bring to the bench my 20 plus years of experience working

in the courtroom, as well as the insights I have gained in the last seven years

as a First Judicial District Court Judge.

Voters and Litigants in the First Judicial District need judges

who are on time, who explain the process, who rule in a timely manner, and who

see the humanity of the litigants.

Litigants shouldn't have to wait for the judge to arrive at the courthouse, so I am

in the courtroom, on the bench, before the start of a calendar.

Court can be confusing, so I ensure participants know what is going on and what

is expected of them.

Often times, people's lives are on hold while they wait

for a decision from the court.

Consequently, I make certain to meet or exceed the deadlines imposed by the

rules.

Everyone is entitled to be treated with dignity and respect.

Judges are often faced with difficult decisions.

I am grateful for the opportunity to serve the

citizens of the first district for the last seven years.

I hope I have your vote in November.

[Answers for All] EP 95: Weight on the Forefoot? You've Been Scammed! - Duration: 6:57.

Subbed by zeio

[Introductions, skipped]

How to distribute the weight on the forefoot

when playing the forehand drive or loop

How to do that? Is there any training you recommend?

This is in fact a misconception

Do not emphasize putting the weight on the forefoot when playing

Some people play like this, by putting the entire weight on the forefoot

With the heels off the ground

Don't lift them like this

When the heels are lifted, they can't maintain a stable stance

They sway when playing

I notice some low-level coaches coach like this

telling the kids to turn on their forefoot

To turn when playing, with feet not stable

Under that condition, the entire body becomes uncoordinated

This is good for learning trunk rotation

but the stroke would come loose in the long term

The lower body can't remain stable

When that happens

our upper body becomes "hollow" during the swing

Look...when I loop like this, with a big swing

Hence, your lower body must be stable

Don't place it on the forefoot

When to do that?

From the backswing to after the loop, at the end of the swing

Shift the weight onto the forefoot at this moment

but keep this in mind

Don't lift the left heel

If it's lifted, your weight can't shift, and you can't stop the inertia

You'd fall over, and some would even turn with their feet off the ground

So don't lift your left foot, which is used for support

the right foot could push off, like this

When we loop back-to-back, the heel should be in contact with the ground

Just an internal rotation of the ankle is good

Let's do some backspin multi-ball feed

See how the foot push-off is done

Notice when I swing, the right foot can push off

the right foot pushes off pushing forward the inertia to the front

but the left foot must serve as support

The left foot can also assist in the swing by stamping

assist in the swing

Check out the left foot assisting in the swing

As you see, with the left foot involved, the fast loop is much more powerful, and higher quality

This wraps up today's session on weight transfer

Don't lift the heel on purpose

Lifting is done to facilitate the inertia going forward

It's fine to use the left foot for assistance

Pam Myhra Candidate for State Auditor - Duration: 2:51.

Hi!

My name is Pam Myhra.

I'm running to serve you as Minnesota's next State Auditor!

I am a long-time resident of Burnsville, Minnesota and have been married to my dear husband Chuck,

a Certified Public Accountant, for 37 years.

I have three adult children, two of whom are also Certified Public Accountants.

And you guessed it, I'm a CPA too!

Accounting and auditing run in my family.

My son who isn't a CPA says Thanksgiving can be boring when we all start talking shop.

Sometimes we just can't help it.

In addition to being a Certified Public Accountant with an active license, I am a former Audit

Manager at KPMG, an international public accounting firm.

With my background, credentials, and work experience, I am uniquely qualified to serve

as Minnesota's State Auditor to provide accountability and transparency in the use

of government resources – our tax dollars.

As a Minnesota State Representative from 2011 through the beginning of 2015, I chief-authored

two bills on government transparency.

Both bills unanimously passed the House and were signed into law by the governor.

I heard how people, across Minnesota, care how their tax dollars are used.

Government accountability and transparency are bi-partisan issues.

That accomplishment also demonstrates my ability to bring people together for the good of Minnesotans.

Recently, it was reported that at least a quarter of a million dollars is missing from

Dakota County's low-income housing program.

And of course, when those low-income housing dollars are missing, they aren't available

for the people who truly need them.

This situation highlights the importance of the State Auditor's responsibilities of

financial oversight of government resources.

Under my leadership the Office of State Auditor will perform single audits of federal grant

money as it is empowered to do so under Minnesota Statute or will perform Quality Assurance

reviews of those conducting the single audits.

When our tax dollars are being used effectively and as they are intended, there are more resources

for programs and projects like road repairs, teachers' pay, funding government pensions,

and low-income housing, or to reduce our tax burden.

I am the only candidate running for State Auditor who is a licensed Certified Public

Accountant with real-life audit experience.

I am Pam Myhra and I would be honored to serve you as your State Auditor!

Please vote for me, Pam Myhra!

Thank you!

Scott Hume Candidate for 191 School Board - Duration: 2:55.

Hello.

My name is Scott Hume.

I am running for the ISD191 (Burnsville - Eagan - Savage) school board and I hope you will

vote for me on November 6.

My wife and I currently have boys attending Nicollet Middle School and Burnsville HS,

plus our oldest son graduated from BHS in 2017.

I have worked for AFS Intercultural Programs, a non-profit intercultural learning organization,

since 1997.

My time at AFS has helped me understand and appreciate the value and importance of diversity

and inclusion in our schools and our communities - experiences that I would be able to utilize

if elected to the school board this November.

During the fall of 2017, I volunteered to co-chair the Vote Yes citizens' committee,

which successfully advocated with families in the district to rally support for the levy

that was approved last November.

During the three months that we worked to get the levy passed, I had the opportunity

to meet many individuals in the community and witnessed firsthand their passion for

the success of our students and our district.

Afterwards, many of them were among the people who encouraged me to run for school board

this fall.

Some of my other volunteer involvement includes serving on the district's Finance Advisory

Committee for the last year and a half, helping to monitor parking lot dropoffs and ensure

child safety as a volunteer "Watch Dog" at Gideon Pond for 10 years, and volunteering

as a Cub Scout leader for my son's Cub Scout pack for 6 years.

The district has faced some enormous challenges over the last few years - and continues to

struggle with them.

Some of the challenges include the need to rebuild relationships with the community after

the very difficult teacher contract negotiations earlier this year, declining enrollment, deficit

spending, and test scores that are not always as high as we would like.

Ensuring equal educational opportunities for all students and addressing achievement gaps

are challenges facing many districts today - including One91.

As the socioeconomic and ethnic diversity of the district changes, we must work to ensure

that all individuals within the district are able to effectively meet these challenges.

There are also lot of really positive things happening in the district, such as the new

curriculum that has been put in place over the last few years as a result of Vision One91

(including the Pathways model at the high school), the increased access to and use of

technology by all students, and the exceptionally high number of AP and College in the Schools

classes offered by BHS.

All of these things should, over time, help to make every student in the district more

prepared for their respective futures and helps to strengthen the communities served

by our district.

I believe that a school board member who doesn't seek out opportunities for input and feedback

from teachers, parents, and others in the community cannot be an effective advocate

for students in the district.

During my over 14 years as a parent in the district, I have gotten to know many outstanding

teachers, administrators and families.

As a school board member, I would build on those relationships, and develop new ones,

as we work to make One91 the best possible district for all students and families living

in Burnsville, Savage and Eagan.

If you'd like to learn more about me or follow my updates, 'like' my Facebook

page, at facebook.com/scotthume191 or follow me on Twitter at @scotthumeone91.

Thank you for taking the time to learn about me and please don't forget to vote Scott

Hume for School Board on November 6!

S01 E17 Along For The Ride: Scott Tingey, Electrician - Duration: 11:56.

The snow settles down and I look to see where my buddy is

Expecting to see him in the exact same spot holding on to a tree and he's gone

I can't see anything, I unzip my coat

I pull my beacon out, hit receive to see where he is and hold on one sec

Hey

Yeah, so first job we're headed to Santaquin, apparently it's a store of some sort they got a fluorescent ballast that's out and

They want a new one. Usually we don't start this late. But this is the on-call week. Guess you get a little bit of solace by

sleeping in

Gotta make sure we don't get hit by a car, that'd be a bad day.

Yeah, sometimes the bulbs can be loose but they all feel tight so yeah

Yeah, it's that time if you just did one this one's probably dead too

K, well let me write up a couple options for ya, to do just one, to do multiples and we'll go from there

So the first one this is everything we talked about the two t-8 4 bulb ballast so one in here one in the other room

Yeah started working with Wyatt back at Hepworth when I was 19

so I was figuring it out, four more years half of my life will be with Any Hour

So that's weird to think.

So our on call week, we usually start later I know some guys start at their normal nine

I like to sleep in, and so I usually leave the house by about ten o'clock or depending how far a drive we got

Get to the job by 11:00 and then take calls 'til

Essentially the office says you don't have any more and last night

I got home at 9:00 and then the rest of the night you got to sit there with the anticipation that every text that comes in is

a call. You got to stop doing what you're doing and head out and then you really mad at your friends and they start just texting me

A ton and then you don't know if it's a call or not. So and Brad's really good at that

Ballasts are one of these things you look at them and it's just a sea of wires everywhere

We're gonna flip the light switch.

There we go

Okay, those should last you for many more years. I'll send this over to you

If you have any issues give us a call. You bet.

Okay, so the next call, we were gonna go to Orem but then a priority one came in and so now we get to have

A lovely jaunt up the I-15 to West Jordan

We'll be there probably about one o'clock unless we have some exciting traffic

All I know is they have some sparking they don't like, sparking usually isn't a good thing. So

So we'll go find out what's going on

Hello, how are you? Good I'm Scott

So every time you turn it on that's when you get..

Okay, well

You've been lucky that you haven't had bigger issues

You're melting

see how black that is, and you've actually been

Melted the wire back here and it's melted the side of the box. I don't know if you can see that in there. Yeah

So that's where we're at right there. Okay.

Right off the bat I can tell that there has been water and corrosion coming into the panel

Can you see all this rust corrosion in here

we're at

116

And our second one. We're at 120. That's a pretty big gap. We want to be about 120 for both of them.

This is our meter

So power comes in from the power company up here comes into here this is what records how much power you use

And this is our main breaker right here if we turn this off it shuts everything off

inside

New, it's not pulled out of someone else's house. It's a brand new breaker

Surge protection we talked about the surge protection. So that's included in the panel and then extra space

So whatever the world brings us. We have extra space. Okay

Got our nice new shiny panel

It's considerably larger than the old one. These are the lock rings that hold the wires and connectors in

Okay, so we're gonna knock out..

the holes..

Gonna go give them a heads up and turn power off

No power. So, you know you got corrosion

When the screw is black or brownish color.

Got caught in an avalanche about six years ago my buddy

And I were we were doing backcountry and it snowed pretty good

And by this time I was getting tired and I happened to look up and I could just see this plume coming towards us.

I just

yelled, Oh crap, it started to hit us. And I thought it's a little slough because I've been in a lot of sloughs

But it just kept coming and coming and my buddy Cody was right in front of me. Probably about 15 feet

and it just wouldn't stop it was more and more and more force

And I turned and I was able to grab a tree and hold on to it

And I was on the uphill side and it was coming over my head and just kept crushing me

I couldn't breathe anymore. And I I thought I was going to die

finally it started to to relax a little bit and I could inhale and I expect to see my buddy Cody doing the same thing and

And he wasn't there.

and his ski pole was hanging in a tree about 20 feet down the the hill and I yell his name there's no response

So I pulled my beacon out

I don't pick his signal up at all and get uncovered and just start heading down where the slide went

No signal no signal and then finally I pick his beacon up

I'm just in my ski boots at this point because the Avalanche took my skis off

And I'm running down the slope getting closer closer closer within 15 feet

Got my shovel out and started digging and I finally hit a ski

And I was like, oh thank God. There's a ski and it was my ski

And all of a sudden all this doubt in the entire like everything

How did my beacon track my ski what's going on? And so I keep digging. I'm about five feet down

I hit a backpack. I was like oh finally uncover it. Okay, butt, head and I uncover his face and

The first thing I hear is I love you. I love you. I love you and that was him

He was still conscious and it took 45 minutes to get him uncovered to where he could stand up, from when it hit us to when

Got him uncovered

Was just under 10 minutes

And he said he was starting to lose consciousness

Blacking out and he could hear a weird sound and it was my shovel

Getting closer to him, so

We got definitely lucky cuz if I would have gotten buried more than I did. Then we both would have been dead

This is how I tell when I turn the power off

Found it

It tells you if you have electricity or not

So it's burnt the insulation

All the way through and so that's why it's sparking

The outlet, this wire just broke off in there

Then right here and inside the box it was actually melting

No, got a message from Troy

Saying we'd like you to do a ride along and I said I rather wouldn't he said well

they really want you to and I said, well, I really don't want to and then I immediately get a

message from Wyatt saying

We really want you to do a ride along. So we're here doing the ride along. Hey we got light.

We got power, no sparks

And heat I'd say it's working, now we show and tell

Yeah

There you go, so it looks full but see how these ones are smaller

You bet, sorry you got to reset all your clocks, well one down hopefully not another one to go

Well, I hope you like being an electrician for a day we're still on call the rest of the night

So if I get a call, I'm giving you a call

You know, It's really what

what's around you, who's around you and the

Relationships that you have that matter because it can be taken away in the blink of an eye
