WHY USS SOUTH DAKOTA IS THE MOST STEALTHY SUBMARINE OF U.S NAVY ? - Duration: 7:16.

The United States Navy has taken delivery of USS South Dakota (SSN 790) It is the 17th

Virginia-class submarine and 7th Block III variant.

The vessel will be commissioned into service early in 2019.

The important point to note is USS South Dakota is not a typical Virginia class vessel but

is the lead vessel for the U.S Navy's secret Acoustic Superiority Program.

Acoustic Superiority Program aims to maintain the technical edge over Russia & China by

making the submarines more silent so that harder to detect by sonar.

In this video, Defense Updates analyses why USS South Dakota is the most stealthy submarine of U.S Navy?

Let's get started.

The Virginia class sometimes referred to as SSN-774 class, is a class of nuclear-powered

fast attack submarines in service with the United States Navy.

Virginia class is designed to replace older Los Angeles-class submarines, many of which

have already been decommissioned.

Virginia-class submarines will be acquired through 2043, and are expected to remain in

service till 2070.

Virginia-class submarines are designed for a broad spectrum of open-ocean and littoral missions.

Their primary purpose is to take out enemies surface combatants and submarines and the

secondary task is to execute land attack missions.

USS South Dakota has been build by shipbuilder Huntington Ingalls Industries.

It has a length of 115 m.

To give viewers a perspective, its length is slightly greater than that of a football field.

It displaces around 7,900 tons.

USS South Dakota like all other Block III variant is acknowledged to be able to move

to depths of 240m (800 feet) but allegedly capable of going down to 490 m (1,600 feet).

A single S9G reactor that produces around 30 MW powers South Dakota

The reactor features improved corrosion resistance and reduced life-cycle costs.

It also has reduced size and weight enabling the submarine to pack more weapons and sensors.

The S9G reactor is designed to operate for 33 years without refueling.

So USS South Dakota has a practically unlimited range,

limited by only food supplies and maintenance requirements.

The reactor produces enough power to propel South Dakota over 25 knots that is 46 km/hr

or 29 mph, though the actual numbers may be significantly higher.

The Virginia class is the first to use photonic sensors instead of a traditional periscope.

The class is equipped with high-resolution cameras, along with light-intensification

and infrared sensors as well as an infrared laser rangefinder.

Block III variant of Virginia-class is has redesigned elements and feature several types

of sonar arrays.

1. It incorporates a Large-Aperture Bow (LAB) water-backed array, which replaces the traditional

air-backed spherical array.

This is main sonar is one of the most powerful sonar mounted in any of the submarines in the world.

2. Two high-frequency active sonars mounted in the sail and bow.

These supplements the main sonar array improving anti-submarine warfare performance.

3. A fiber optic sonar array, consisting of 3 flat panels are present in either side of the hull.

4. For coverage above and behind the submarine, a High-frequency sonar is mounted on both

sides of the submarine's sail.

USS South Dakota is also equipped with a low frequency towed sonar array

and a high frequency towed sonar array.

Rear Adm. Michael Jabaley, the Navy's then program executive officer for submarines,

said on July 8, 2016, the Center for Strategic and International Studies.

"This is our response to the continued improvement in our peer competitors' submarine quality.

The Russians with the production of the Severodvinsk SSGN took a significant step forward in their

acoustic ability.

We want to maintain pace ahead of that.

We never want to reach acoustic parity, we always want to be better than anything any

other country is putting out there in the submarine domain."

Jabaley added, "The modifications include new acoustical hull coatings, a series of

machinery improvements inside the hull and the addition of two new large vertical sonar

arrays—one on each side.

The new sonar arrays "provide a significant advantage in the ability to detect other submarines

before you yourself are in a position to be detected."

South Dakota will also receive a new enhanced propulsion system.

Jabaley said," South Dakota will have an improved enhanced hybrid propulsor that we

have developed with DARPA.

It promises to present a significant acoustic advantage."

USS South Dakota is deadly as it is packed with different kinds of weapons to knock out

varied targets.

1. Two large-diameter Virginia Payload Tubes, each capable of launching 6 Tomahawk cruise.

Tomahawk is a long-range, all-weather, cruise missile that is used for land-based attacks.

It has a long range of 1200 to 2500 km, enabling them to be launched from far off.

2. Four 533 mm torpedo tubes for the Mk-48 torpedo.

There is a capacity to carry up to 26 Mk-48 torpedoes in the weapons chamber.

These torpedoes have a range in excess of 50 km or 31 miles and can be used to take

out enemy submarines and surface vessels.

3. Like all Virginia class, South Dakota can also lay different types of mines including

the MK-60 CAPTOR Encapsulated Torpedo mines.

4. An integral lock-out/lock-in chamber is incorporated into the hull for special operations.

The chamber can host a mini-submarine, such as Northrop Grumman's Advanced SEALS Delivery

System that can be used to transport special warfare forces such as Navy SEAL teams.

Is This Why She Did It? Christine Ford Has Much To Gain From Accusing Kavanaugh - Duration: 5:47.

One of the most frequently used arguments among Christine Blasey Ford's supporters

is that the Palo Alto University professor "does not stand to gain anything" by coming

forward with her allegations against Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh.

However, that's not exactly true.

In reality, Ford stands to gain quite a bit.

Could this be why she accused Kavanaugh?

Anita Hill's experience more than two decades ago is now being recalled thanks to Christine

Blasey Ford, who has accused Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh of attempting

to rape her during a drunken high school party 36 years ago.

Again, millions of Americans believe the accuser, and millions more see major problems with

her account.

Kavanaugh has emphatically denied that he ever inappropriately touched Ford — or anyone

else, for that matter.

His nomination is now awaiting the results of what Senate Republicans and Democrats agreed

Friday would be a one-week, limited FBI investigation into Ford's claims.

In 1991, Clarence Thomas was ultimately confirmed, even after Anita Hill's allegations, but

by only a 52-48 vote in the Senate.

At the time, he said that he was the victim of a "high-tech lynching."

For her part, Hill came out of the ordeal with a lot more cash to her name than when

it all began.

Could this be a motive for Christine Ford's coming forward?

Before you decide, consider just how much money this woman stands to gain from accusing

Kavanaugh.

She could possibly end up a millionaire, and all she had to do was recall a "repressed

memory."

No evidence seems to be needed.

The University of Oklahoma has neither requested nor encouraged the resignation of controversial

law school professor Anita F. Hill, who has indicated she is not returning to the OU faculty

in the fall.

"It totally was her decision, there was no solicitation of her resignation," an

OU source told The Oklahoman Thursday.

OU spokesman Josh Galper said that President David L. Boren "has had no conversations

with professor Hill," who is living in a rented cottage in Laguna Beach, Calif., while

writing two books for the New York City-based Doubleday publishing firm.

The publishing deal was for well in excess of $1 million.

Hill's OU salary is $66,000 a year.

such a price had she not, four years earlier in 1991, claimed that then-Supreme Court nominee

Clarence Thomas, her former boss at a federal agency, made improper sexual advances toward

her.

higher than prices in 1993.

The dollar experienced an average inflation rate of 2.70% per year during this period.

In other words, $1,000,000,000 in 1993 is equivalent in purchasing power to $1,744,955,017.30

in 2018, a difference of $744,955,017.30 over 25 years.

The 1993 inflation rate was 2.99%.

The current inflation rate (2017 to 2018) is now 2.70%1.

If this number holds, $1,000,000,000 today will be equivalent to $1,026,991,801.04 next

Ford's accusations compared to Hill's, however, it is entirely conceivable that the

amount required to win an intensely competitive bidding war will be far in excess of that

Add to this all of the money Ford is raking in via various GoFundMe pages and you have

got a bonafide goldmine: More than $700,000 has been donated to Dr.

Christine Blasey Ford through a number of GoFundMe campaigns set up on her behalf.

At least two GoFundMe sites associated with Ford's name were set up earlier this month

to help support Ford as she traveled to Washington, D.C. to testify before the Senate Judiciary

Committee about her accusations of sexual assault by Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

Kavanaugh has denied all of the allegations.

The two campaigns — "Help Christine Blasey Ford" and "Cover Dr. Blasey's security

costs" — had reached more than $700,000 at the time of publication.

A number of other campaigns related to her also appear on GoFundMe based on a search

of Ford's name.

"We are working directly with all campaign organizers and guarantee the funds raised

will be transferred directly to the Ford family," Katherine Cichy, a spokeswoman for GoFundMe,

told ABC News.

theorem are the two they're talking about here now I want to tie this

was what content are you looking for me to make what more content could I make I

on it a lot of things have to happen for someone to get to this point so again

believe it's going to pay off in the long run for all of you who've stayed

what content is coming out I don't think there's as much beginner-friendly

understand why people aren't putting out beginner-friendly content and that's

because no one's not not as many people are searching for it so in return

they're gonna get less views it's gonna be less you know it's gonna it's gonna

grow the growth grow the channels slower and so on and so on so I understand why

instagramers youtubers and stuff like that aren't putting out a ton of

beginner-friendly content but I think it's going to be a huge step in adoption

is people learn from YouTube YouTube is a great source of it's a great source to

find videos to learn about a topic that's new that you can't learn about in

college you can't learn about and stuff like that YouTube is probably the number

one place most people go and so again I'm gonna ask if you guys have any ideas

of how we can integrate the two together make it you know more beginner friendly

as well while still keeping the information that

you have going on the videos let me know because part of this I believe part of

the reason adoption is slowing down is because of obviously the bear market is

one but also less people are coming in and I believe is just because the

barrier to entry is starting to increase because the information being put out is

already advanced information and there's not as much beginner friendly

information while in December there was a ton of beginner friendly information

everyone was making videos about how to set up a bi Nantz account how to buy

cryptocurrency on coin base because those those were the videos people were

searching for but again just a bit of a rant if you

they're still three months cryptocurrency moves very very fast I'm

predict the price to go in the short term also in the long term and how we

are gonna capitalize on trading now let's take a look at the overall market

two hundred and nineteen billion dollars in market cap with a 51.5% Bitcoin

dominance looking like a mixed day just very small gains and very small losses

again bitcoins been trading sideways we have cortex up 20% it looks like a

little bit of a pump or like a pump and dump right can kind of look in the same

hyper cash looks like it had its pump and dump and then might be going for

mark so I think it's probably pretty close to 50/50 right now we have the

losers and like I said there's a lot of very small losses and a lot of very

small gains but the biggest loser red coin again is in the red like we talked

have the return as instant as people may have expected now I get a lot of

growth to the ecosystem especially in the bear market again Neil's another
