My name is Diane Tarte and I chair the South East Management Advisory Committee for AFMA.

It's the committee that is made up of an AFMA representative, industry representatives,

environment and recreation and science representatives experts.

Who actually advise AFMA on the management of the south east fisheries which include;

the Small Pelagic Fishery, the South East Scalefish and Shark Fishery and the Southern

Squid Fishery.

Our core advice is around advising on what should be the total allowable catch for the

various fisheries managed under this arrangement.

We also provide advice on a whole range of mitigation strategies for interactions with

threatened and endangered or protected species.

As well as, a range of AFMA policies and management tools that the Authority uses in undertaking

its task of managing Australian Commonwealth fisheries.
