>> Stephen: NICE TO HAVE YOU ON.

>> GOOD TO BE ON.

>> Stephen: I'M A LONG-TIME FAN OF RON HOWARD AND A

LONG-TIME FAN OF "STAR WARS."

YOU TOOK OVER DIRECTING THIS ONE ONE, "SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY,"

HALFWAY THROUGH.

HOW MUCH DID THEY TELL YOU BEFORE YOU AGREED?

WAS IT SO SECRETIVE, THEY SAID, JUST TRUST US, IT'S A "STAR

WARS" STORY, GET IN THERE?

>> I HAD TO SIGN AN N.D.A.

BEFORE I COULD EVEN HAVE THE CONVERSATION.

>> Stephen: WAS MICHAEL COHEN INVOLVED AT ALL IN THIS

CONVERSATION?

>> NO, WE WERE ABLE TO HANDLE IT INTERNALLY.

>> Stephen: OKAY.

LOOK, IT WAS A GREAT SCREENPLAY.

IT WAS AN UNUSUAL CIRCUMSTANCE.

IT WAS NO MOVIE, NO SET OF CREATIVE PEOPLE WANT TO BE A

PART OF SOMETHING LIKE THAT.

IT WAS CREATIVE DIFFERENCES IN THIS PARTICULAR CASE AND ONCE I

KNEW THEY WERE GOING TO MAKE A CHANGE, I READ THE SCRIPT, AND

LARRY AND SON JOHN WROTE IT.

HEAR HAS BEEN INVOLVED IN HIS FOURTH OF THE "STAR WARS" MOVIE

STARTING WITH "EMPIRE STRIKES BACK."

I LOVED THE STORY.

IT SURPRISED ME.

OF COURSE, I HAD QUESTIONS ABOUT WELL, WHAT'S THE STORY ABOUT

YOUNG HANS SOLO AND ADVENTURES THAT MIGHT DEFINE HIM, WHAT'S IT

GOING TO BE?

>> THE CASTLE RUN, I'M GOING TO MAKE YOU SPILL SOMETHING.

THE CASTLE RUN AND ALL INVOLVED.

( LAUGHTER ) >> AND WHAT I FELT ABOUT THE

SCREENPLAY IS, NO, THEY JUST ANSWERED QUESTIONS IN WAYS THAT

WERE SURPRISING AND VERY SATISFYING.

BUT, OF COURSE, THEN I LEARNED THAT, IN FACT, BEFORE EVEN

DISNEY BOUGHT LUCAS FILM THAT GEORGE LUCAS AND KATHY KENNEDY

AND LARRY WERE ACTUALLY TALKING ABOUT THIS AND LARRY WAS SAYING,

OF ALL THE STORIES I COULD BE A PART OF TELLING ABOUT THE WORLD,

THE YOUNG HANS SOLO STORY IS ONE THAT I THINK WOULD OFFER A LOT

OF SURPRISES AND BE VERY INTERESTING, SO IT'S A TERRIFIC

STORY.

>> Stephen: YOU JUMP INTO THE MIDDLE OF PRODUCTION.

USUALLY A DIRECTOR COMES IN AND YOU'RE PART OF THE DIRECTING AND

DESIGN PROCESS, YOU'RE THERE AND THE WORLD'S ALREADY BUILT.

WHAT WAS DAY ONE LIKE?

>> WELL, IT WAS CHAOTIC AND I WAS ANXIOUS AND PUMPED UP AND IT

WAS A BIG ACTION SCENE.

IT'S A BEAUTIFUL SET AND IT'S EVERYBODY THERE AND IT'S

DESTROYS AND AI -- ALIENS AND WOOKIEES AND BLASTERS RUNNING

AROUND.

I ORGANIZED THIS VERY COMPLICATED SHOT AND IT TOOK A

LONGER TIME TO GET IT TOGETHER AND THE ACTORS WERE PULLING HARD

TO TRY TO MAKE IT HAPPEN, YOU KNOW, AND LANDO FLIPS THE

BLASTER TO HAN AND THE CAMERA IS PERFECT AND IT WENT BEAUTIFULLY

AND I FELT REALLY GOOD ABOUT IT, BUT HERE'S THIS AMAZING THING

THAT HAPPENED, LET ME JUST TELL YOU, WHEN YOU GET A FIST BUMP

AND A FULL BODY HUG FROM CHEWBACCA, I MEAN, THAT'S AN

EXPERIENCE I WISH EVERY MOVIEMAKER COULD HAVE.

>> Stephen: THAT'S VALIDATION.

I WAS IN THE GALAXY FAR AWAY, BUT IT WAS GOING TO BE OKAY.

( APPLAUSE ) >> Stephen: WELL, OF COURSE,

WE KNEW YOU AS OPIE, ORIGINALLY, BUT YOUR BIG MOVIE BREAKOUT WAS

AMERICAN GRAFFITI, RIGHT?

>> WELL, YEAH.

>> Stephen: WHICH, AT THE TIME --

( CHEERS AND APPLAUSE ) AND IT'S A MOVIE PEOPLE DON'T

SEE AS OFTEN AS THEY SHOULD.

IT WAS GROUND BREAKING FOR ITS TIME.

IT WAS HUGE.

>> A HUGE CINDERELLA SUCCESS, CAME OUT OF NOWHERE, DIRECTED BY

THIS MAVERICK INDEPENDENT FILMMAKER GEORGE LUCAS.

>> WHAT WAS HE LIKE BEFORE "STAR WARS"?

>> YOU KNOW, SKINNY AND QUIET, VERY WITHDRAWN, BUT UNBELIEVABLE

FOCUS, AND AN UNUSUAL WAY OF LOOKING AT STORIES AND MOVIES.

THAT WAS THE THING THAT BLEW ME AWAY THE MOST.

I ALREADY KNEW I WANTED TO BE A DIRECTOR.

I HAD ALREADY BEEN ACCEPTED TO U.S.C. FILM SCHOOL, AND GEORGE

WILLUCAS WAS APPROACHING THE PROCESS IN WAYS UNLIKE ANYTHING

I WITNESSED BEFORE, A DIFFERENT CINEMATIC APPROACH, STYLE OF

DIRECTING ACTORS AND IT WAS ALL INCREDIBLY EFFECTIVE.

I WAS VERY IMPRESSED.

WE SHOT ALL AT NIGHT AND IT WAS ABOUT 3:30 IN THE MORNING ONE

MORNING AND WE WERE STANDING OUT IN FRONT OF, YOU KNOW, THE

DRIVE-IN, MEL'S DRIVE-IN, AND I SAID, DO YOU KNOW WHAT MOVIE YOU

WANT TO MAKE NEXT?

AGAIN, HE'S VERY QUIET.

HE SAYS, I WANT TO MAKE THIS BUCK ROGERS MOVIE, FLASH GORDON

CLIFFHANGER BUT WITH STANLEY KUBRICK 2001 EFFECTS, YOU KNOW,

EVERYTHING GOES REALLY FAST AND MAKES A LOT OF NOISE AND THAT

WAS IT.

IF IT HAD BEEN ONE OF THOSE MOVIES WITH THOUGHT BUBBLES, I

WOULD HAVE SAID, THAT'S MORONICALLY STUPID.

DIDN'T GET IT AT ALL.

BUT I WENT TO SEE THE MOVIE WHEN IT FIRST CAME OUT AND SAW IT

TWICE THE SAME DAY.

I WAS BLOWN AWAY.

>> Stephen: TALKING ABOUT LIFE COMING FULL CIRCLE, HERE YOU ARE

DIRECTING SOLO AND GEORGE LUCAS STOPS BY.

>> HE DID ( APPLAUSE )

>> Stephen: WHAT'S IT LIKE IF YOU'RE THE DIRECTOR O OF "STAR

WARS" AND GEORGE WIL LUCAS STOPS DOES EVERYTHING COME TO A HALT?

>> EVERYBODY'S JAWS DROPS AND IT'S LIKE SNAPPING TO ATTENTION.

HE DOESN'T SPEND TIME AT THE MOVIES NOW.

HE MORE OR LESS HANDED IT OFF.

HE'S BUSY BUILDING MUSEUMS, HE'S VERY PHILANTHROPIC, EDUCATIONAL

PROGRAMS THAT MEAN A LOT TO HIM.

WE REMAIN FRIENDS, SO TO ME IT WAS AN INCREDIBLE SHOW OF

SUPPORT AND RESPECT AND IT MEANT HE WOULD GO OUT OF HIS WAY TO

SHOW UP WITH HIS WIFE.

HE WAS TRYING TO STAY OUT OF THE WAY BUT HE DID LEAN OVER AND

SAID, YOU KNOW WHAT HAN WOULD REALLY DO THERE -- HE GAVE ME A

LITTLE JOKE -- AND I SAID, GUESS WHAT?

HERE'S WHAT WE'RE GOING TO DO NEXT TAKE.

SO I KNOW WHEN I HEAR A GOOD IDEA.

( APPLAUSE ) >> Stephen: GOOD.

WELL, RIGHT NOW, IT IS MAY THE 4th.

MAY THE 4th BE WITH YOU.

>> YES, IT IS.

>> Stephen: AID TICKETS ARE ON SALE.

>> THAT'S RIGHT, AS OF NOW.

>> Stephen: AS OF NOW, THERE ARE TICKETS ON SALE, AND HERE'S

THE THING, A LITTLE SURPRISE FOR YOU, IS I KNOW WE'VE ALL SEEN

THE TRAILER ONLINE.

>> RIGHT.

>> Stephen: WE HAVE ACTUALLY GOT OUR HANDS -- AND I'M SORRY

YOU DIDN'T SEE THIS FIRST, PROBABLY MAD AT THE PEOPLE WHO

PUT IT TOGETHER, BUT WE'VE GOT A NEW TRAILER FOR SOLO, A TOWARDS

I'M AN IDIOT, TOO, BUT I'M HONEST ABOUT IT.

>> Stephen: THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

WELL, I FOUND OUT SOMETHING SHORTLY BEFORE YOU CAME OUT HERE

THAT YOU WERE ORIGINALLY GOING TO BE A DANCER.

THAT'S WHAT YOUR GOAL IN LIFE WAS.

>> THAT WAS MY PASSION, YEAH, FOR SURE.

>> Stephen: AND YOU CAME TO NEW YORK TO DANCE.

>> I DANCED HERE FOR A LITTLE BIT.

I THOUGHT THAT WAS WHAT I WAS GOING TO DO THE REST OF MY LIFE.

>> Stephen: WHY DIDN'T YOU?

I'M NOT REALLY BUILT TO BE A BALLERINA.

I'M A LITTLE TOO TALL AND TOO MUCH WEIGHT ON MY KNEES AND AT

19 MY BODY JUST KIND OF SAID NO MORE.

SO I SAID MOVIES.

>> Stephen: SO YOU'RE SLUMMING NOW, WITH MOVIES.

( LAUGHTER ) DID YOU GO TO LOS ANGELES AFTER

THAT?

>> I DID.

IT WAS THE CRAZIEST, NOW WHEN I REFLECT BACK ON IT, I'M, LIKE,

WHAT WAS I THINKING?

I'M SO NAIVE.

MY MOM CAME OUT TO NEW YORK.

IT WAS THE WINTER I WAS SUPER DEPRESSED, I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT I

WAS GOING TO DO WITH MY LIFE.

SHE PUT TOGETHER THAT REALLY WHAT I LOVED ABOUT DANCE WAS

STORYTELLING.

SHE SAID, YOU SHOULD TRY THE MOVIES.

WE KNEW NOTHING.

SHE'S, LIKE, I HEAR THEY MAKE THEM IN HOLLYWOOD.

SHE'S, LIKE, YOU DON'T WANT TO BE 80 AND ON YOUR DEATH BED AND

ALWAYS THINK ABOUT, YOU KNOW, I SHOULD HAVE GIVEN THAT THING A

SHOT.

SO BECAUSE I HAD NO MONEY, SHE BOUGHT ME A ONE-WAY TICKET.

THE TRAVEL AGENT SENT US THE TICKET AND IT SAID, LOS ANGELES

AND SHE WAS, LIKE, AH, (BLEEP)!

I TOLD THEM HOLLYWOOD!

AND I WAS, LIKE, MOM, FIX THIS!

WE KNEW NOTHING!

I TELL THAT TO MY KIDS TODAY AND IT'S, LIKE, ARE YOU CRAZY?

>> Stephen: TALK ME THROUGH THAT.

HOW DOES THAT WORK?

>> WELL, MAYBE I'M THE ONLY PERSON WHO THOUGHT THIS, BUT AT

12 I WAS, LIKE, YOU KNOW, WHEN YOU GET SCARED THERE'S A REASON

TO MOVE CLOSER TO A BOY AND THEN MAYBE THEY'LL PUT THEIR ARM

AROUND YOU.

AND THE CHARACTER WHO PLAYS MY BOYFRIEND IN THE MOVIE HIS NAME

IS GUY.

I GOT SO NERVOUS IN THE AUDITION I HAD TO DO THIS SCENE AND TOM

READ WITH ME.

OH, IT WAS SO MORTIFYING.

I GOT SO NERVOUS I COULDN'T SAY GUY AND I KEPT SAYING GAY, AND

THE MORE I TRIED TO CORRECT MYSELF THE MORE I JUST SAID GAY,

AND IT WAS SO HORRIBLE.

AND I WAS, LIKE, OH, I AM SUCKING RIGHT NOW!

>> Stephen: JUST ENOUGH, THOUGH.

>> THANK YOU.

>> Stephen: WELL, THE NEW FILM YOU HAVE IS "TULLY."

YOU PRODUCED IT.

YOU PLAY MARLO, A MOM OF THREE, AND THIS IS A STRIKINGLY

REALISTIC LOOK AT BEING A MOM.

IT CAN BE BEAUTIFUL BUT CERTAINLY NOT EASY.

WHAT DREW YOU TO THIS?

BECAUSE I KNOW YOU HAVE TWO CHILDREN OF YOUR OWN.

>> YEAH, JASON RIGHTMAN WHO I WORKED WITH BEFORE IN A FILM

JUST IN THE ZOMBIE STATE.

I WAS JUST BECOMING A HUMAN BEING AGAIN AND HE SENT ME THE

SCRIPT AND I WAS, LIKE, OH, BOY, THIS IS SO REAL, I JUST LIVED

THIS.

THERE WAS SOMETHING ABOUT IT THAT JUST FELT -- SOMETHING I

HAVEN'T READ BEFORE, JUST, LIKE YOU SAID, ABOUT THE HONESTY OF

HOW MESSY IT IS TO RAISE KIDS.

>> Stephen: AND HOW YOU DON'T KNOW HOW EVERYTHING GETS DONE.

>> NO.

>> Stephen: YOU KNOW ALL THE THINGS OR YOU TRY TO KNOW ALL

THE THINGS THE CHILD NEEDS, THE THINGS YOU NEED TO DO, BUT THIS

FILM REALLY BEAUTIFULLY, DRAMATICALLY, SOMETIMES

HEARTBREAKINGLY EXPLORES THAT IT'S IMPOSSIBLE.

>> IT'S SO IMPOSSIBLE, AND I THINK WE ALL HAVE BEEN IN THAT

PLACE WHERE WE ALL THINK EVERYBODY ELSE KNOWS BUT ME.

I HAD NIGHTS WITH MY KIDS WHERE I WAS JUST, LIKE, AM I THE ONLY

PERSON WHO DOESN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO RIGHT NOW?

AND I THINK THIS FILM MADE ME MAKING IT JUST NOT FEEL SO ALONE

IN RAISING MY KIDS.

SO I HOPE THAT THAT CAN HAPPEN FOR OTHER PARENTS OUT THERE.

YOU KNOW, YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE A PARENT TO GET THIS.

I THINK THERE IS SOMETHING ABOUT JUST ALL OF US NOT WANTING TO BE

ALONE IN WHATEVER THE EXPERIENCE IS WE'RE HAVING IN OUR LIVES AND

WANT TO HAVE REASSURANCE THAT WE'RE DOING OKAY, IT'S OKAY.

>> Stephen: AND IF YOU DON'T HAVE KID AND YOU SEE THIS FILM,

IT'S EXCELLENT BIRTH CONTROL.

( CHEERS AND APPLAUSE ) YES.

>> LISTEN, THE WORLD IS INCREDIBLY OVERPOPULATED, AND I

AM A U.N. MESSENGER OF PEACE.

>> Stephen: VERY NICE.

SO LOVELY TO SEE YOU.

>> THANK YOU.

Pauline Hanson comments on Muslim women who refused to stand for judge - Duration: 1:58.

The wife of a Sydney terrorist got a harsh lesson today from the very legal system she

loathes.

She's been found guilty of refusing to stand in court and could now wind up in jail.

Ali Donaldson was there.

Moutiaa El-Zahed left court, the first person convicted under new laws for not standing

before a judge and her supporters were not happy.

El-Zahed, the wife of a convicted terrorist recruiter gave the ISIL salute,

raising her finger.

Moutiaa El-Zahed: "Go find a sewer, pissoff"

Reporter: "I beg your pardon, go find a sewer.

Do you think that's a nice way to speak to people?"

Moutiaa El-Zahed: "This is Australia mate, I can say whatever I bloody well like."

But El-Zahed can no longer thumb her nose at the law.

She today was found guilty of disrespectful behavior for refusing to stand for a judge

on 9 separate occasions.

In handing down her decision, Magistrate Caroline Huntsman achieved what none of her colleagues

had managed to do so before.

She made her stand and told her to remain standing until she had finished.

The Magistrate said her behaviour was intentional and it was disrespectful to the court and

judge.

I take my hat off to that Magistrate and so will so many other Australian's.

Well the National Imam's Council has made it very clear that Islam does not require

people to refrain from standing in court.

A gap in existing contempt laws spurred the NSW Government to introduce the new law 2

years ago.

Her husband Hamdi Alqudsi is already in jail for helping to send young Australian's to

fight in Syria.

She too may soon be behind bars, but her lawyer says she's suffered enough.

She's been trolled, she's been harassed by media.

She's received death threats.

It's just time for everyone to leave her alone and giver her a break.

The development was made public by the ACYM president, Comrade Kabiru Yusuf, as he delivered his acceptance speech.

Yusuf said the poll would be conducted in order to get a presidential candidate that shared the same vision with the youths, Daily Trust reports.

"The mock election will soon commence on our website and will last for ‎a period of 60 days before the announcement of results.

I enjoin all of us to think critically about this before we make our choice and also mobilise for him.

Пейзаж гуашью для начинающих пошагово (eng sub) Landscape for beginners gouache is simple - Duration: 12:23.

- [ ] Hello!

I'm glad that you went to the channel TessaArt!

To create today's paintings inspired me

beautiful photos forests.

So let's get started.

The list of materials will be in the description under the video.

We begin as usual from the sky.

We use blue and white colors.

Dark brown color we are planning a mountain in the back

plan.

It will almost completely be closed trees, so that in details

it does not work.

Again mix the blue and white, draw a small river.

You can also brown add shadows and reflections.

Green is mixed with small amount of brown

and draw the trees on the mountain.

Before drawing trees in the foreground

deal with the shore.

For a start, I'm completely I close it with white paint,

and then rub it green, brown colors.

You can also take ocher or sienna.

Now let's proceed to the trees.

I paint them with a flat brush.

As usual, I do this in three stage.

Paint I impose from dark hue to light.

That is, we first draw trees with a mixture of green

and brown colors, then we plan light areas

light green paint.

And in the end yellow do the brightest places.

Brown again We outline the coastline and

trunks of future fir trees.

We draw trees like trees, only green in

the first stage we add slightly black to

the color was darker.

You can also darken a bit distant trees.

A mixture of blue and brown add a shadow under the trees.

Take the sienna or ohru and brush bristles make small

bushes and blades of grass.

They can also be given volume by using the overlay

paint, for example brown.

And do not forget about the shadow.

Sienna can walk through some branches of trees.

And at the end of a little glare on the water with white paint.

Here is a picture of us came out.

Thank you for watching!

I hope you enjoyed it!

SWIRL POUR - acrylic paint - FIRST TRY TUTORIAL for beginners - Duration: 9:23.

Hi guys welcome to Memorizing - today. we are going to make a Swirl Pour

I'm looking forward to do that and

Watch the intro and right after that we get started?

Okay cool

We're going to make a swirl pour which actually means that I'm pouring all my colors into a cup

Yeah, I do that often?

And then I'm going to make these little swirl movements as I apply my paint

To the canvas and that should give this impression of looking at you know when you see like a tree

That's been cut down and you see all the rings in a tree

I'm trying to mimic something looking like that and erm...

Mathias the cameraman he is as always choosing the colors, and he really loves strong colors

And he wanted something to look like I don't know did you say a sunset?

Yes, so this is the colors we are using

I'm going to do like a black background, so I'm going to cover the canvas in black paint

First - I'm pouring all the other paints into a cup and getting ready to do the swirl pour

I'm not really

Maybe I'm gonna use a Alaska (silicone). I don't know. Oh, maybe I'm gonna use WD40

I think I have better experience

From last couple of videos with the WD40 to make cells - if cells is actually that

What I'm going for when I'm making a swirl pool. I don't really know

I did bring my blowtorch

Because we like setting things on fire right

Yeah, yeah, but I don't know if that's necessary? I have some different pouring mediums

We have the liquitex. We have the

Vallejo and we have some art medium, which is a cheap one. I have a free specimen of this golden one

I'm going to hit...I'm trying to make the paint...

Liquid enough to do the swirl so um actually I'm aiming for it not being too thick

but then again I did have

We did try it when it was a little too thin right - didnt work out quite well? Yeah well. We'll see where it goes

I'll try to mix some of it up and then of course and as always if you see me do something that is

So absolutely wrong let me know comment down below or just comment if you want to see us do something

Yeah, whatever within the fluid art medium or whatever you think would be fun to do as art

comment down here, and we read everything and we'll try to catch up with all the comments, right

Okay

Let's get to it

Well most of the

Mixing of the paints and the medium is done - Now we just need to add some

Silicone or something to make the cells, so I'll give 'em a squeeze of the WD40

It might be too much

I don't know leave a comment down below to let me know how you do, how much do you apply?

I've seen some guys using something like this with the Alaska silicone or something

and just adding, you know like three drops or something on this?

this squeeze might be

a bit too much, I don't know we'll see what happens, okay?

I'll just let this sit for like a couple of minutes while I cover the canvas in the

In a black color - first of all I will of course

apply the pins to

the canvas to elevate it a bit

Well this is actually - this is the hardest part of doing pouring

it hurts my fingers...

Maybe it should actually be

leveled or something like that, but I don't think for the sake of this experiment that it is so important...

Okay the black

I'm just going to cover the whole canvas in black

Okay, then I will...

Mix the paint for the swirling

While the cell work is - Wow look at this one Mathias!

The cell works, it's already starting down

In the cup - whoo - look at that

This is gonna get good

Cool

Okay, I think - there's a lot of paint here so...

and then this swirling is going to start. I don't know how good I am. This is the first time ever so?

Cut us some slack right. Let's try

This is not going good at all. Oh, maybe oh, maybe okay

Okay getting better, getting better, but yeah

Yeah, that's something like it, but maybe again

Maybe the paint is too thin...I dont know?

And it's not level so its running

In different...in one direction

not like the band...

Okay, but see yes, this is the

$64,000 question

And I know the answer is yes, but should we touch it yes?

Let's try to see if that does anything

Well the cells started to pop up, that's for sure, I don't know...the swirling, I don't know

It doesn't really give me I'm not left here with the feeling of looking at you know like in a tree

That's been cut down or anything

But as a...

but as an acrylic pouring...It looks really nice I think...

In that way I'm kind of satisfied but

You know what?

in another video when I have gotten a little better

we'll try to make another swirl and see if we can hit the ring look a little better

but for now

I hope you enjoyed and of course

I hope you want to subscribe to our Channel and follow us as we experiment with all kinds of fluid arts

This was a swirl pour technique

Went poorly but I think it's gonna look like a nice acrylic pouring paint when it dries up, so

well, thanks for now and
