Hello James Greaney here from internetbizuni.com and in today's video I'm going
to be showing you exactly how you can go about building an audience on Facebook
so most people that I know that are building their business online they're
not using Facebook correctly they're using Facebook to connect with people
that they know in the real world or simply just to show off different things
that they have or or that they're doing at that time and that is not the right
way that you're going to build your business on Facebook you're gonna build
your business on Facebook by connecting with people who have the same interests
as you or at least the same interest that your business is around and in this
video I'm gonna show you how you can start connecting with these people how
you can get this type of person to connect with you to join you because you
will be offering them something off value so I'm gonna show you how you can
go about getting all of that set up so that you will have people comment to you
and then it's simply up to you it's up to you if you want to go about and sell
them a product or if you simply just want to use it to connect with
like-minded people it's the same process that you're gonna go through you want to
connect with people that have the same interest as you or at least have an
interest in the products that you sell so if you already sell a product or you
have a product on Amazon then you would want to create what I'm gonna show you
around the product that you sell or around the interest that that products
inside but maybe you don't have a product already so this is a great way
to start building your audience to start connecting with people and find products
that are suitable and I'm gonna show you exactly what I mean by this in a group
that I have recently set up
okay so I'm over on Facebook now to set up a group it's really simple what you
do is just go up here and you click on this little down arrow here and then you
would just go to created group but I'm not gonna waste your time showing you
it's really simple you just click create a group then you just follow the steps
you just have to name your group and add a picture and a few things like that
it's very simple to set up so you just go and do that but now I'm just gonna
jump over to a group that I've already created so I've it saved over here in
shortcuts so I'm just gonna click on this now this is a group that I started
almost a year ago and you can see that there's nine and a half thousand members
in the group already and I simply just started this group because I have an
interest in live-streaming myself and I wanted to learn ways to grow my audience
using live streaming so I wanted to connect with others who were using live
streaming to grow their audience so that we could share ideas and strategies that
we're using to grow our audience while using live video streaming so I called
my group live video streaming growth group and then I just put in YouTube
periscope and Facebook as these are the three platforms that I was live
streaming on and wanted to connect with others who are live-streaming on that
but the key thing to remember when you're naming your group is that it
should be around something that gets people in that would also be the same
people that are interested in your products so again if you've sold a
camera or a microphone or a tripod stand or anathan that people would use for
live-streaming then you could set up a group identical to this one because
people who are into live-streaming will join this group and these are your exact
Taggard audience or I don't sell any of these products so I simply didn't have a
product to sell when I set up this group but since starting this group I have
created information product which is a course and in it I teach all of the
basics around Facebook live and creating Facebook live videos so down here you
can see the opening message this is a message that everyone will see when they
join the group you can simply save any message here so
I'm a simple message which just asks the members when they join to offer a bit
about them just to get to know the other members you know just to share a few
things about them and then I just mentioned about the course that I have
again this is a really inexpensive course and something that they are not
required to purchase to be a member of this room you know anyone can be a
member of this group this was just an information product
that I created and I sell it for like $20 on you to me but it was simply just
a way to monetize this group even that I don't care whether the members purchases
or not I'm just happy that they are members of the group both a lot of the
members have found this helpful and have gone on to purchase this information
product and I make $400 on average every month just from selling this information
product on udemy and again I don't do any other work with it I don't do any
other advertising of it you won't have heard me even speak about this course on
any of my youtube videos the only place that I advertise it is in this live
video streaming growth group that I run so as you can see people down here just
comment and like on us when they join the group but again if you have a
physical product that's suitable for this demographic then you could create
this exact type of group but if you don't then just create a group around
what your target customer will be interested in so if your product is a
pet product if it's something for dogs then you can set up a dog's trainers
group or a group that simply connects dog owners together or if your product
is a sports related product then you should develop a group around this sport
because people are constantly looking to join these groups that have members with
things in common with them and you can provide them with this type of group
that's why it's good to have an interest in the products that you sell because
you will have an interest in connecting with these other members and then you
can simply just put a pinned post in your group like I have done here so that
members we'll see the product that you're
selling when they joined the group and some of them will decide to purchase it
but that isn't the main reason why you would set a group up on Facebook one of
the main reasons why Facebook groups are so powerful in such an amazing way to
grow your audience now is that you can gather the members email addresses when
they join your group and this will allow you to keep in contact with them in more
ways than one which is extremely powerful today so as
we can see here 231 people want to join this group we would click in here and as
you can see I asked the members when they joined to leave their email address
when they leave their email address I will send them our quick guide that will
help them with their live streaming as long as I have their email address and
simply just send them out emails about the services or about the products that
you are selling in the future so maybe I'll go on to develop a new type of
tripod then I can contact all of these members who leave their email addresses
and let them know that I have this new tripod for sale and again you can sell
this tripod on Amazon on Shopify wherever you want to sell your products
or you can just create an information product like I have done and put it on
udemy or hosted on your own site and also notify them about this
that is why groups are so powerful when you're building your audience because
you get to gather their contact information when they join and now you
might be wondering well how do I get their emails so they're all down here do
I have to go through every day and copy and paste over 200 emails no you don't
is the answer this is all you have to do so you have to scroll down to the bottom
of all the requests so to do this I'm just going to keep scrolling down
through all of the pages off requests then what you want to do when you get
down to the bottom and you have covered all of the email addresses like this
down at the bottom after requests you go up to the Chrome extension - which is
called the email exporter - you click on this and what this does is it finds
emails on the page so the reason I scroll down to the bottom was so that it
will pick up all of the emails that people have left and as you can see
there is 170 emails out of these 230 requests so then all that I do here is
copy these emails like this and paste them over into an excel file so I'm just
gonna open up an excel file for this example and just paste them in here
there you have it you have 170 emails from members who want to join your group
you can go ahead and clean these and put them into your email autoresponder or
create a look-alike audience with Facebook using this audience and doing
this will target your ads at people who are just like these people who have
given you this email because that's what Facebook does when you create your look
like audience it finds the profile of these people and it creates other
members that are very similar that I've liked similar things and have similar
interests to the profiles of these members so it's extremely powerful you
can gather so many emails doing this like I simply just go into this group a
couple of times a week and export the emails and then accept them into the
group and this Chrome extension is 100% free and what it does it picks up any
email address that has that symbol in it that's how it knows it's an email
address an attender has the @ symbol on this page it simply copies it here and
allows you to copy and paste it into an excel file extremely easy then I'm just
gonna scroll back up to the top here and I'm just going to approve all
requests so that all members get accepted into the group confirm now over
the next few minutes they will add this 230 people into the group so you can see
that it has already 130 of these added and it will add the rest shortly and
their members will go into the group and they will see that opening message which
explains about the information product that I have around this subject of
live-streaming and some of them will go on to purchase it but even the ones that
don't it's still no problem because they are in this group so I will be able to
learn off them in the future and they will be able to learn of me in regards
to anathan that we put in the group that helps with live-streaming so it's a
great way to meet people with similar interests and connect with your target
audience and whether you go on to sell them a product or a service it's totally
up to you but it's just an easy way to build an audience off your target
customers or simply people that have the same interest as you members just keep
joining automatically it cause it's around a topic that they are interested
in and the more members that start joining then the more members that will
continue to join it's like a snowball if people see 10,000 members in a group
they're more likely to join it than if they see a couple of hundred so you'll
get more requests the more members that you have in your group and I've just
refreshed this now and as you can see no members join but I'll come back in in a
few days and accept any new members and anathan that I find helpful to do with
live video streaming I simply share into this group and as live-streaming gets
bigger and bigger I will be spending a lot more time in this group connecting
with the other members who are growing their business using live video
streaming and this method of growing your audience works no matter what it is
that your audience are interested in or the types of products that you sell
because you are simply creating a group around this interest and then adding
value within this group and the more value that you can add to the people in
the group the more of a relationship that you can
build with them and these are the relationships that will allow you to
grow your brand to something bigger than simply just selling the type of product
on Amazon or on Shopify you can actually build a relationship with your customers
and this way you will start growing fans for your products and for your brand
that will become a repeat customer as time and time again
so I hope that you can now see the power off using Facebook correctly and using
social media correctly to build your audience and not simply using it just to
connect with the people that you know in the real world because you know there's
a lot of people out there that have the same interests as you or at least have
interests in the products that you serve but you need to get connecting with them
and I hope that this video showed you exactly how you could start doing that
using what is so powerful and that's Facebook groups over the next few videos

connecting with every different type of person around the world so powerful but
