-"This Is Us," what a crushing season, unbelievably great.
You were just awesome.
You know it.
[ Cheers and applause ]
-Thank you.
-Thank for coming on the Super Bowl show.
You came on our show.
And that was an episode, dude. And it was live.
And so we had to follow that episode live
and make our comedy show.
-Your comedy show was awesome.
-No, but it was -- no, thank you. You guys made it awesome.
But man, oh man. Just crushing every --
-That episode -- I mean, because we had to keep that secret
for such a long time.
Hopefully I'm not spoiling anything, but there's a fire.
It's big, you know what I'm saying?
Yeah, yeah, my dad passes away because of the fire, whatnot.
But Dan Fogelman, our creator of the show,
went to great lengths to make sure that we --
like, the house was like 50 miles outside of L.A.
So nobody knew where it was, or the paparazzi couldn't find it.
And so to finally put it out there and people to see it
and to respond to it the way that they did,
was greatly satisfying.
-But then the double twist.
Because you always double twist on "This Is Us."
-Yeah, like that.
-You double twist.
You know what you do. You just double twist.
-Yeah.
-You think it's one thing, you go, "Oh, that's a twist."
No, here's the second twist.
-You talking about old Randall?
-Yeah!
Old Randall shows up at the end, you go, "What is going on?"
Dude, I freaked out.
I told you, I said, "Oh, my gosh."
I did not see it coming at all.
I loved it.
I did not see it coming.
I go, "Man, you got me, you got me, you got me."
-Well, let's talk about "Hotel Artemis."
-Let's talk about it.
-Because this is finally, I get to see you in action.
This is all action.
-It's so -- so acting with Jodie Foster.
You know, she's the lead of our film.
-Who's better than Jodie Foster?
-Absolutely insane, and she was warm and kind,
and she's been doing it since she was three or four.
Like, over 50 years of acting.
-She is amazing.
-Yeah, so she had so much to share
that I got a chance to act with my brother, Brian Tyree Henry.
-Brian Tyree Henry is one of the most talented guys.
From Atlanta. -Atlanta.
Just got nominated for a Tony.
-He is the most talented --
-He's killing the game.
-Most fun guy. -Absolutely.
And we played brothers.
We've known each other for like 11 years.
-Is that right? -Yeah.
That's my man.
And we got to play brothers in this movie.
And we were both like kids in the candy stores,
like, "It's happening.
People are paying us to actually do this together right now."
You know what I mean?
Like, we would sit in our apartments and wonder,
"Yo, man, what if we did a movie together?
Wouldn't that be cool? What kind of movie would we do?"
And now we're doing a movie.
-Let's talk about it.
What is "Hotel Artemis"?
-So it's the near future in Los Angeles,
and there is a riot going on due to a water shortage.
The rich people are hoarding the water.
The poor people are rioting.
With that as a backdrop, I play a bank robber,
along with Brian, who's also a bank robber.
We're brothers who rob banks.
We used this riot as a back drop,
but then we go in to rob the bank and something goes wrong.
So from there we have to go to the Hotel Artemis,
which was a hospital for criminals who need tending to.
And we meet a bunch of other criminals in there,
and then shenanigans ensue.
-I want to show everyone a clip.
Here's Sterling K. Brown in "Hotel Artemis."
Take a look at this.
-Okay, everyone.
You're here in the middle of a riot,
and I've got a theory about that.
I need you to stand up if your boss is a millionaire.
-Oh, come on, man.
-Come on.
That's it.
Now, stay standing if your boss is an ass[bleep]
Good for you.
-How is this helping?
-Gracias.
It's the most violent riot in L.A. history.
Rich folks need to get their lootables to the bank.
Who do they use for that?
A bunch of maids and grass cutters.
Two minutes until the cops show up.
-Okay, okay, I get it, man.
-All right, change of plans!
Keep what you can carry. Let's go!
[ Cheers and applause ]
-Yeah!
