5 Natural Cures For Toenail Fungus You Can Find In Your Pantry

If your toenails are changing color and starting to thicken, you may have onychomycosis — a.k.a.

toenail fungus.

This common condition begins with a white or yellow spot under the tip of the nail.

Eventually, the fungal infection will travel deeper, beginning to discolor, thicken, distort and crumble the nail at the edge.

And while there are many over-the-counter products available, some come with potentially dangerous side effects.

This is why many people prefer natural home remedies.

The good news is, there are natural solutions to help rid yourself of that nasty toenail fungus.

Here are five you can try:.

1- Apple cider vinegar.

Apple cider vinegar (ACV) has made headlines in the alternative health world for its many wide-ranging benefits, including everything from curing hiccups to aiding weight loss.

But did you know another benefit includes curing toenail fungus?.

Although ACV is one of the most popular natural remedies for toenail fungus there are no clinical studies available to support its effectiveness for this condition.

Nevertheless, its natural antifungal properties help prevent toenail fungus from spreading.

When you get a toenail fungus, the nail itself becomes more alkaline.

And fungus thrives in an alkaline environment allowing it to grow and spread to other toes.

One of the main reasons ACV is thought to work is because it helps restore the pH balance of the nail and surrounding skin.

ACV Foot Soak.

Treat your toenail fungus with this apple cider vinegar foot soak at home.

Ingredients. Apple cider vinegar.

Warm water. Instructions.

In a foot bath, add a 50:50 mixture of ACV and water.

Stir to mix.

Make sure there's enough solution to completely cover your feet.

Dip your clean, dry feet into the solution and soak for about 15 minutes.

Dry your feet thoroughly.

Repeat twice each day.

When buying ACV, purchase raw, organic and unpasteurized apple cider vinegar.

You should see some strand-like sediment floating at the bottom.

No, your vinegar isn't bad.

Those floating strands are called "the mother," and it contains raw enzymes and gut-friendly bacteria that promote healing when taken internally.

2- Vicks VapoRub.

Here's an odd home remedy for toenail fungus you may never have heard of: Vicks VapoRub! And it works, particularly if caught in the early stages.

That's because thymol, an ingredient of Vicks, is thought to inhibit the growth of fungus.

In fact, a study published in the Journal Of The American Board Of Family Medicine found that Vicks VapoRub seems to have a positive clinical effect in the treatment toenail fungus.

Eighteen participants with toenail fungus who used Vicks VapoRub were followed at intervals of four, eight, 12, 24, 36 and 48 weeks.

Photographs were taken during initial and follow-up visits.

Researchers found that 15 out of the 18 participants (83 percent) showed good effects at 48 weeks, concluding that thymol could positively treat toenail fungus.

Here's how to use it: Wash and dry your feet and nails.

Then apply Vicks VapoRub liberally to the infected nail two to three times per day.

3- Tea tree oil.

Tea tree oil, also known as melaleuca, is an essential oil well known for its antifungal and antiseptic properties, and its ability to treat wounds.

Derived mainly from the Australian native plant Melaleuca alternifolia, tea tree oil has been widely used throughout Australia for the past 100 years.

Some small-scale studies, according to the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health, conclude that tea tree oil might be effective against toenail fungus.

Here's how to use it: Paint the tea tree oil directly onto clean and dry nails twice daily with a cotton swab.

4- Oregano oil.

Just like Vicks VapoRub, oregano oil contains thymol.

Research published in Science Direct found that thymol has antifungal and antibacterial properties, making oregano oil effective for treating nail fungus.

Here's how to use it: Apply oregano oil to the affected nails, twice daily, with a cotton swab.

You may even want to use oregano oil in combination with tea tree oil.

However, since both oils are extremely potent, there is a potential for irritation or an allergic reaction.

Please use with caution. 5- Borax.

Borax is a naturally occurring mineral commonly mined from dried salt lakes, mainly found in California and Turkey.

According to Health Science, Borax kills all kinds of fungus and works particularly well on toenail fungus and athlete's foot.

Here's how to use it: Simply mix borax powder with baking soda and water to make a paste.

Then wet your feet and toenails and rub them with the borax/baking soda paste twice daily.

Before you start treatment….

Since toenail fungus can look like other conditions, such as psoriasis, you'll want to have your toenail fungus properly diagnosed by a doctor before trying out natural remedies.

Unfortunately, fungal nail infections can be difficult to treat and take months to heal.

That means you'll need to continue with a treatment until the old nail has completely grown out.

So, let's fix these lag-spikes and potentially improve the performance of the Need for Speed

Hot Pursuit.

First of all, download the Low Specs Experience from my website and then install it.

Start it from your Desktop shortcut and then go to the optimization catalog tab and select

Need for Speed Hot Pursuit from this drop-down menu.

Now press load the optimization and extract this package to the folder where your game

has been installed.

After you did that go to that folder and start the ragnotech control panel and this window

will pop-up.

Now select the method of optimization and resolution you would like to run your game

on.

After you did that simply press optimize and start your game.

The Brazilian full back was a surprise selection for his countrys 23-man World Cup squad on Monday, picked by manager Tite to replace the injured Dani Alves.

After Tite names the rest of his defence - including Felipe Luis, Marcelo and Marquinhos - he finally announces Fagner is in the 23-man squad, prompting wild celebrations.

After silence in the room beforehand, there are screams of delight as the 28-year-old - who has previously only won four senior caps - is embraced.

Fagner himself appears too stunned and emotional to fully react outside of a huge grin and a big hug for his exuberant fans.

He started his career with Corinthians and has played for them again since 2014, following spells with Vasco da Gama and in Europe at PSV and Wolfsburg.

the train on the way to inQvation, and you arrive at this,

it's also an industrial area, there's construction going on around the building,

and you see this big square building and don't really have any big

expectations for the facilities, that are inside the house.

Then you go through the the main entrance and a universe of all sorts of interesting

things opens up - first of all you meet a giant forest, which is like

right in front of you, when you enter.

It's a lot bigger than what you would even expect.

There's a camping area, where we've placed three Airstreams.

Where you can organize workshops, and all kinds of work spaces in

different corners of the building, so all that contributes to this

totally cool and unexpected experience, when you step through the main entrance.

inQvation is an innovation house for innovative people, for entrepreneurs,

for business developers who really want to create a new business

or a new idea or a new concept.

If anyone has ever visited Rome and The Spanish Steps, well, you see

suddenly that people use it as a space for gathering.

People sit on the stairs.

People bring a lunch or a breakfast and sit on these stairs

and enjoy this perspective of the beautiful surrounding areas.

That is part of what inspired us here.

We haven't built it of stone, we've built it of wood, 30 tons of wood,

which is assembled totally like a LEGO set.

Now it's a big open space, so we've created lots of small spaces

within the room where you can meet and create some experiences.

And what we've created inside the forest are some small areas,

some cozy areas, where you can meet with a colleague

and have that, either informal sparring or conversation.

Firstly, you are in, weirdly enough, an industrial hall, a big industrial hall

It offers some fun experiences when you say on the phone that

well, I'm actually in the woods right now. But aren't you at work?

Yes, I am, but I'm also sitting in a forest.

We got this feeling, that what we were building

or the idea we were building, was becoming too solid and static.

So we got the excellent idea that we should take three of these campers

and place them in an area, which we call the workshop area.

So either, you go in there and actually stay, whether it is a week or a month,

inside a camper, and sort of isolate yourself from all that

is happening around you and focus exactly on the issue

or the challenge you're facing.

This room is an example of one of our many meeting rooms,

with the intention of creating experiences and creating some different rooms.

That first of all are visually very inspiring,

so you get these nice, creative meetings.

For example, this swing room, where you get into a swing set.

One of the meeting rooms has vegetation on the wall and workshop areas are

created, where all the walls are made of cork.

Some of the meeting rooms are also created in a way so that it

doesn't look like a typical meeting room, but where we've created certain moods,

I want to say some more domestic, cozy atmospheres.

Where you go, you might sit down in a sofa,

two sofas opposite each other, there isn't this big wide table in between.

It is actually only now that the really exciting stuff begins.

That's when companies and exciting, interesting people

begin moving into the house.

We hope to create some golden eggs in this environment, and help grow

some businesses and transform them into great successes.

Both creating some international successes, but also national ones, where you

end up either creating a healthy, well-established business or making some

incredibly nice exits. And that must be the goal in itself,

that in three years we can boast that we've created these companies and

they've done so well.

Being Responsible for Your Disease Without Guilt - Duration: 1:31.

- People often misunderstand the notion

of taking responsibility for their pain and suffering.

Sometimes, it's delivered in a way

that people feel,

"It's my fault that I have this condition.

"I've done something wrong,

"and because I wasn't taking care

"in the right way, now you're saying I have this disease."

So, I'd like to reword that,

reframe it in a way that is much kinder

and I feel closer to the truth.

Now, we're all doing the best that we can

with whatever we know at a particular period of time.

So, if you find yourself with a disease

and you wanna approach it from

the position of personal responsibility,

consider that the disease is teaching you things

about living in a new way,

with new skills that you didn't have before

and nothing was requiring you to learn

those skills up until this point.

That is actually some of the gift of diseases,

and if you speak to people who've healed

from life-threatening diseases,

cancer patients are notorious in this department,

that the disease teaches them to live

in a way that they didn't previously know,

they weren't previously interested in,

and hopefully, and usually,

if it goes well, the diseases,

they awaken us in particular ways

because they're calling us into contact

with ourselves in a different way.
