Waching daily May 15 2018

Hello and welcome to conneXion online 2018. conneXion time is my favorite time

of the year, where we share ideas and touch base. It is of course strange for

me not to say: "Good to see you," because I can't see you and I miss it.

But like in our hybrid plan, where we do not have to choose between in-cloud and

in-house, we can have the best of both worlds.

This year we meet online and next year we will meet on premise.

And let's remember the reason why we are meeting this way this year is because we at

LS Retail wanted to spend every working hour on delivering to you our

hybrid plan and our cloud strategy. That decision has paid off.

The hybrid plan is materializing as we speak.

LS Nav 2018 has been released. It has the same code-base as LS Nav 365, which is

based on Microsoft Dynamics Business Central. By using a single codebase, these

solutions provide you with a flexibility of choosing, when it suits you, to be in

cloud, in-house or hybrid. With that mission accomplished,

we can put the focus on the challenges ahead and design a way to turn them into opportunities.

What does the world of retail look like?

The talk of the industry right now is all about whether tech companies will dominate retail and

wipe out brick-and-mortar retail companies. By tech companies

I mean e-commerce companies, like Amazon and Alibaba, that are based on technology

and have taken advanced analytics into their services. A battle between online

and in-store. We're getting a lot of scary news about retail stores closing,

while sales reports of e-commerce companies are soaring.

Well, like Mark Twain said, the reports of my death are greatly exaggerated.

When we look at the news of closing of malls and shopping centers, the fact of the matter

is that these stores need to be retrofitted to cater to the in-store

shopping experience. It's more about outdated real estate projects and less

about losing business to e-commerce. People will always want a marketplace to

meet and experience, like they have done for centuries. To support this theory

we're getting news of e-commerce companies wanting to branch into

brick-and-mortar retail. Amazon recently bought Whole Foods and Alibaba bought Sun Art Retail Group.

The numbers tell us that e-commerce holds only 10% of the retail business,

while prick and mortar retail still holds 90%,

although e-commerce is growing very fast.

In my mind there is no battle, no war - it is not either/or, it is both things.

And they have the possibility to enhance each other

in many ways. And I say possibility, because action needs to be taken. Things

cannot stay the same. Classic department stores cannot just rearrange the deck

chairs on the Titanic in the hope it won't sink, because shopping has changed.

The in-store consumer wants immediate personal attention. Personal, meaning

relating to a single person rather than to a group. And he expects personalized

experience. Personalized, meaning something that has been made for a

particular person. According to Carrie Ask, the president of global retail at Levi-Strauss,

85% will leave the stores if they

don't receive personal attention. Because of e-commerce, they also expect the

retailers to have a single profile on them, making the service personalized.

They want it all and they want to be able to jump seamlessly from online to

in-store experiences. It is an interesting twist that people experience

more personalized service, when shopping through digital devices, than from the

face-to-face encounters. This is because online they sign in, give their personal

information, and then advanced analytics can be applied. This results in a more

personalized service. Therefore, they also expect that when they come to do their

in-store shopping. We forget that because of

e-commerce people do a lot of browsing online, so when they turn up at the store

they're more ready to shop than before. Their intent to purchase is over 50%.

People are now getting used to retailers engaging with them from the moment they

start browsing online. Therefore, in-store retailers must step up their act.

They must do the same when people walk into their stores. The good news

about the fact that e-commerce will keep on growing is that it will make parts of

retail and hospitality more cost- efficient. More consumers will spend

proportionally less on simple necessity products and services.

Therefore tomorrow's consumers will have more disposable income to spend on experience

retail and dining. Shopping experience that is more personal because it's in

person and in-store. Hence ecommerce will fuel in-store shopping.

As everything about shopping is changing, we want to change.

The online shopping experience is not the same as the in-store shopping experience,

but they can complement each other, if they are seamlessly

interconnected. That is the task at hand. One of the challenges that e-commerce

needs to solve is to lower the abandon rate. People fill a basket but don't

check out, because there are factors like shipping cost and delivery time that

make them hesitate. In-store, this is less of a problem if you provide personal attention.

For example in fashion, it's all about getting people to try on things.

If they don't try it, they probably won't buy it. In e-commerce you

have two senses to play with, sight and sound. In store you're adding smell and

touch, and in hospitality you're using all of the five senses, as taste comes in.

In-store you also have the chance to provide personal service and attention

that makes the consumer feel appreciated and worthy.

The new world of retail actually looks like this: The consumer is in the middle

with a smartphone. On one hand he has online shopping, providing personalized

experience, data-driven, digital. On the other hand he is in store shopping,

providing personal experience, people driven, physical. And through his

smartphone he can share his shopping experience with family and friends

through social media. And what the consumer expects is a seamless shopping

experience between the shopping channels. The retail transactions should all be

stored in one database. Then the possibility exists to apply relevant and

timely enhancers, using advanced analytics, unifying the online and

in-store shopping experiences. This is what we call unified commerce, where

personalized and personal meet.

At the heart of unified commerce, we find loyalty. The seamless shopping experience

can only be delivered if we get it right. What is loyalty all about? Everyone has a

loyalty program and most are based on points and rewards. The problem is that

people are highly unaware of their points balance. An estimated 100 billion

dollars in points are left unredeemed each year. Loyalty can no longer be only

about points and rewards. What people are after is to be personally recognized,

feel special. Basically - be loved. Money can't buy you love,

according to the Beatles. Loyalty is a relationship, not just a scheme

We want to turn our thinking around. We want to ask, how can we be

loyal to our consumers - not, how can our consumers be loyal to us?

This will create a loyalty of a different kind, where the consumer wants to share with

us his personal information, so that we get a chance to provide him with a

seamless shopping experience he desires.

You want to create a great brand experience, as a retailer and as a brand owner.

You want to show your consumers that you are loyal to them and that they

are loved and appreciated by you. But they must experience it. All research

agrees on this. So, how do you make that happen?

Not by choosing separate best-of-breed systems, each with their own database.

Not by choosing between digital and physical,

but by choosing unified commerce.

This is the key to LS Retail. Our speciality is to centralize and unify all the

customer information into one place, one database.

LS Retail is the customer data platform that allows you to know your customers and, with advanced

analytics, know what they like and when. That way you can be loyal to them, love

them. And that will win you and them the lottery.

You will be seeing LS Retail leading this road of unified commerce.

Our solutions will support this vision

What is the Armor of God - Duration: 4:07.

So I want to talk about the spiritual armor of God. this is one of our favorite

passages we talk about when we talk about spiritual warfare, we love to bring

it up. And what I'm going to do briefly is just read out Ephesians 6 and I'm

just gonna go through it and maybe highlight a few points that I think many

miss when they're approaching spiritual warfare.

So we'll start in verse 10, "finally my brethren be strong in the Lord and the

power of his might" so being strong in the Lord "put on the

whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil"

so, right off the point it's saying that you are in the Lord and that your goal

is to stand against the devil not fight the devil but stand against the devil.

"for we do not wrestle against flesh and blood but against principalities

against powers against rulers of darkness of this age against spiritual

hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places." Now we love to stop there and get

really excited but let's look at what that actually looks like. It says,

"Therefore take up the whole armour of God, so that you may be able to withstand in

the evil day and having done all to stand, stand." So spiritual warfare doesn't look

like fighting it looks like standing. And, you know, if you're into fighting you

know like MMA or wrestling or any of these kind of sports, boxing,

standing is not a good idea. Just standing there means you're gonna get

knocked out and yet this is what God's calling us to do. It's not an aggressive

language standing is defensive it's to stand, in fact, it's probably not even

defensive it's just neutral but He's asking us to stand. Now let's think

about what he's calls us to stand in though because we have to put

this spiritual armor on and we love to talk about this and talk about putting the

spiritual armor on and how are you you put it on every day and all these

different things and get ready to fight but let's listen to what the spiritual

armor is, OK. "Having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate

of righteousness, having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of

peace, above all taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to

quench the fiery darts of the wicked one and take the helmet of salvation and the

sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God. Now stop there and think about the

different elements that make up our spiritual armor.

We have truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation and the Word of God. Now

stop and think about each of those. Who is the truth? Jesus, right?

Who is our righteousness? Jesus. Who is our peace? Well, probably the Prince of

Peace, right? Jesus. Who is our faith? Who's the author and perfecter of our

faith, again, Jesus. Who is salvation? Jesus, Jesus is our salvation. And who is

the Word of God? Jesus. You see, all of this stuff is Jesus. It's got nothing to

do with you. You don't fight the devil Jesus does. And you don't defend yourself

from the devil, Jesus does. See this is a completely passive act on our part, our

only part is to be sure that we are standing in Jesus. To stand firm in Him.

It's this whole idea of being abiding in the vine

it's a restful thing. The whole concept of spiritual warfare, if you are sweating

in spiritual warfare, if you are straining in spiritual warfare, if you are

striving in spiritual warfare, you are not in spiritual warfare! You've

completely missed the point and you're fighting a battle that isn't happening.

You need to be at rest in Him trusting that He is your defense and He is your

offense. The battle is done, stand in Jesus and let him do your fighting for

you. Bless you hope that helped you clarify a little bit about spiritual

warfare and bring some peace to your life.

Security beef-up at NASS as Omo-Agege is set to resume - Duration: 2:17.

Security was on Monday, May 14, beefed up at the National Assembly, Abuja, ahead of expected resumption of Senator Ovie Omo-Agege following Thursday's Abuja High Court nullification of his suspension by the Senate.

Strengthening of security arrangement at the complex, especially around the Senate Chambers is to forestall likely security breach as recorded on April 18, when some hoodlums stormed the chambers and made away with the Mace.

The incident which occurred while plenary was ongoing in the chambers was linked to Omo-Agege, who defied the suspension order on him and attended the proceedings, accompanied by some strange fellows into the chamber.

News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that apart from full security detail in the chamber of the red chamber on Monday, police officers were seen at the lobby leading into the chamber, a development that is unusual on a non-sitting day.

Sergeants-at-Arms were also seen in clusters discussing in hush tones, and apparently perfecting the security beef-up.

Some staff of the assembly, who pleaded anonymity, told NAN that the development was not unconnected with the expected return of Omo-Agege to the chamber on Tuesday after the court judgment in his favour.

They confirmed that the move to check likely break down of law and order as experienced when the mace was forcefully taken away.

Omo-Agege had gone to court to challenge his 90 legislative days suspension by the Senate and the court in its ruling declared the action unconstitutional, saying that the Senate could not suspend a member beyond 12 days.

His suspension was based on his comment that amendment to section 25 of the Electoral Act, 2010 (as amended), bordering on reordering of elections sequence was targeted at President Muhammadu Buhari.

Meghan Markle's Pre-Wedding Workout Is All About Easing Her Stress & Keeping Calm - Duration: 7:37.

Meghan Markle's Pre-Wedding Workout Is All About Easing Her Stress & Keeping Calm

With the royal wedding just five days away, Im over here still salty AF that I still havent received my invite.

Whats up with that? Still, though, Ive obviously continued to religiously stalk everything Meghan and Harry are doing to prepare for their big day because if I cant actually be there, I might as well live vicariously through their pre-wedding regimen.

Meghan Markles pre wedding workout, in particular, has been super inspiring to follow because its all about easing her stress and keeping calm amongst the chaos.

Shes an inspiration to us all, people.

According to Vanity Fair, even with all of the stress and pressure that comes with prepping for a royal wedding, Markle has been maintaining her head-clearing workout routine.

The princess-to-be has sworn by workouts at Kensington Palace, along with Heartcore Pilates sessions on the reg, to ward off nerves and stay calm amidst all the planning.

"Meghan has been doing regular exercise as a way of beating the stress," a source told Vanity Fair.

"She goes jogging around the park most days and starts every morning with some yoga and a meditation.".

TBH, I already was in love with Markle, but the fact that shes using yoga and meditation to find her ~zen~, stay mentally stable, and make her wellness a priority during wedding season just makes my not-so-subtle girl crush for her significantly prosper.

Markle has clearly heard of all of the incredible, stress-busting powers of yoga and meditation, and is adamant about making self-care a priority leading up the the big day, which is admirable AF.

And, according to The Sun, Markle also has a few super simple and effective bodyweight moves she relies on to keep her body balanced and strong — and theyre actually very doable for as non-royals, as well.

According to The Sun, Curtsy lunges are a go-to for Markle, and I honestly think its solely because of the royal pun, lets be real here, guys.

Markle reportedly also loves the challenge of high-knees, which instantly get your heart pumping and all the feel-good endorphins flowing.

Aside from yoga flows and literal workout moves, though, I think what inspires me the most is that nowhere has Markle made a mention of any restrictive sort of diet leading up to her wedding.

She really is an awesome role model for young girls and women everywhere.

In an interview with Harpers Bazaar last year, Markle discussed her love for certain foods, including, French fries – I could eat French fries all day.

And I love pasta. I love carbs – who doesn't love a carbohydrate? The same goes for wine.

Of course I'm going to have that glass of wine – it's delicious and I enjoy it, Markle said. Yas woman. Preach.

Along with her vehement support of carbs, VF reports that Markle is all about a glass of red wine in the evenings to help her unwind and contributed to the calm that her grounding yoga and pilates based workout routine brings.

TBH, her pre-wedding regimen sounds like a grounding oasis that I aspire for my every day life to be.

Do the things you enjoy within reason, Markle told Harpers Bazaar.

Know your body and what works for you and you'll be fine. OK, if Markle says it, it must be true.

Count me in on this royal regimen.

This laid-back and balanced mindset is surely whats been keeping Markle stress-free during royal wedding prep.

Her passion for both the physical and mental aspects of health and wellness is so awesome.

Since my invitation obviously got lost in the mail, cant wait to pull all all-nighter on May 19, so I dont miss a second of the royal wedding.

Thank goodness for live-streaming, amirite?.
