Waching daily Jan 4 2019

Hi, my name is Anusha.

I'm from Chitradurga District, Holalkere Taluk, Mannadi.

In the year 1996, I had fallen down from 2nd floor,

as i fell down i was alright,

In the night i became unconscious

and they drove me to the hospital,

I was unconscious for 3 days.

So, even the doctor couldn't identify the problem i was suffering from,

after 3 days,

doctor confirmed that i had a spinal chord injury.

As i had this injury my dad was in a dilemma,

from then on my dad takes me to the hospital,

but there is no improvement.

In the beginning itself a doctor from Davangere stated that,

there's no assurance for the recovery of your injury.

But my dad had self confidence

he believed that one fine day my daughter would be fine.

But with the doctors words of non assurance of recovery, destroyed my dad's belief.

in spite of knowing this he hide this from me to keep me happy

so that I will not be demotivated

you will definitely walk,

but it depends on your will power

there is no problem even though you can't walk

you can achieve a lot with the help of your wheelchair

and they showed me some videos,

they gave me several examples of people with spinal chord injury and people with disability

and changed my mind

with the efforts of my parents there was no thought in my mind that i'm a person with disability.

My dad faced a lot of difficulties to take me to school

because we were economically backward

so,my dad used to lift me and take me to school

he drops me at 10 am and picks me at 4 pm,

i didn't have any wheelchair at that time

dad used to lift me and take me to school.

Everyone used to tell me

you must study well

even though you can't walk

your hands are good, your intelligent

my parents, teachers, friends and relatives always told me that you must study well and achieve something in life

they never ever said that you should not study

but, some said,

y will you study? whats the need for you to study

be at home

but my parents didn't do that to me

they supported me a lot.

When I was in 2nd PU my class was in the second floor,

everyday my used to carry me to the class

I was feeling very bad

even though i'm like this my dad has never lost his self confidence

and then I felt that

till my last breath I will take care of my parents

I had a dream

I must get a job

I must stand on my own legs

that's why I've come to Bangalore

I'm independent

without anyone's help i'm doing my work

and now i'm working at APD, SIS as a teacher

the reason I chose to be a teacher is

there are several students like me

I want to build their self confidence

I must work

I must stand on my own legs, and shouldn't depend on anyone

they should never get disappointed

I can't do anything

this is all my life

I can't walk like others

play like others

they might keep thinking this way

they must remove this kind of thinking from their mind

that is why I have chosen this field of teaching.

Where there is a will there's a way

even though we are disabled

we must make our efforts to achieve our goals

one can come up in life only if we aim at our goals

It is applicable to all human being, regardless of being disabled,

with the help of our wheelchair and proper goals in life we can go wherever we want and can do whatever we want.

Thank You.
