Jeep Wrangler JK JKS J-Flex Adjustable Lower Control Arm for 0-6" Lift (2007-2018) Review & Install - Duration: 11:08.
The JKS J-Flex adjustable front lower control arm is for those of you that have a 2007 to
2018 JK with 0 to 6 inches of lift that are looking for an adjustable front lower control
arm that's going to allow you to set the caster angle and the pinion angle of your Jeep as
a well as a control arm that's going to be much stronger than factory and offer a lot
more articulation.
That's really what adjustable control arms are all about and this one from JKS is a great
example of it.
This is going to be a two out of three wrench installation but it's a very easy two out
of three wrenches and I'm gonna show you how to get these installed in just a second.
So I mentioned a couple of things right up front.
Now they're all reasons that you might want to purchase an adjustable control arm.
Now the biggest reason is going to be for setting the caster angle and the pinion angle
of your Jeep.
So as you lift the Jeep, it is no surprise that some of your suspension geometry is going
to change and some of that can cause the Jeep to not drive or ride the same way that it
did when it was factory or may also cause some of the driveline components to wear out
prematurely or end up with vibrations and I'm talking specifically about your caster
angle and your pinion angle.
And by adding an adjustable control arm and adjusting it properly, you can get those angles
back into spec so you don't have any of those issues we just mentioned.
Now that is going to be the biggest reason to install a new adjustable control arm on
your Jeep, whether you're talking about lowers like we're talking about today or uppers or
a pair or all eight control arms on the Jeep.
Now the other big benefits to a new control arm is that a lot of the aftermarket ones,
especially those adjustable ones, are going to be a lot beefier.
This is inch and a quarter threading down here.
This is a huge DOM tubing control arm.
It's very, very strong.
It's not going to bend, flex, or create any headaches for you down the line when you're
in an off-road situation really beating up the Jeep.
This is going to be very, very strong and it's going to hold up very, very well.
The same cannot be said for those factory control arms.
And the last reason that I already mentioned, that new control arm is going to be a benefit
to you is additional articulation.
So up here on this end of the control arm, you're going to have a factory style rubber
bushing but down on this side, you're going to have a heim style bushing and what that's
going to allow is for a ton of articulation, a lot less binding, really independent movement
of one side of the axle from the other, giving you the ability to roll over very large obstacles
while keeping as much weight on as many of the tires as possible, giving you the maximum
amount of traction and that's what it's really about when you're wheeling your Jeep.
So again, whether you're just getting a set of front lower to set those angles we talked
about or you are doing lowers all the way around or a set of all eight, a set of adjustable
control arms is going to be a very nice option and these ones from JKS are incredibly high
quality.
Now you can step up to some other control arms that are going to have heim joints on
both ends and of course, they're going to give you even more articulation because you
have zero binding there.
However, these ones are going to be a little less expensive than some of those but still
be a very, very strong option.
That's one thing that JKS does very well, is they build things that are very strong,
very well engineered, very well built, but they do it at a price that is usually very
fair when you compare it to some of the other options out there.
Now, that being said, you can step down to some other control arms that are gonna be
a little bit smaller when we talk about the material and the build quality isn't going
to quite be there.
And you are gonna save yourself a couple of dollars but with something like a control
arm, I think that going with something that's very strong from a reputable company like
JKS is a good idea.
I mentioned price already.
These come in right around $350 for a pair of lower control arms.
Again, I think that's pretty fair for the quality that you're gonna get here and for
all of the things that these lower adjustable control arms are going to do for you on your
Jeep.
So we said before two out of three wrenches here but pretty straightforward.
Let me show you how to get these installed.
For this installation, we used a half inch drive pneumatic impact, a small half-inch
extension, a 21-millimeter socket, and a 21-millimeter wrench, as well as a dead blow hammer.
So there are gonna be a couple of different ways to accomplish this installation.
One is with the Jeep under its own weight on the tires sitting on the ground and as
long as you're only doing one control arm at a time, that's going to be just fine.
We're going to be doing this up on a lift and you could certainly do it on jack and
jack stands if you chose to.
Again, we're going to only do one control arm at a time but when it's up on a jack and
jack stands, you can pull the tire off, that's gonna give you a little bit more room for
work in here and it's going to allow you guys to see what we're doing so that's why we're
doing it this way.
So the first step in our install was, of course, getting it up on the lift and then we're gonna
go ahead and pop the tires off.
So now that we have the tire removed, we're going to remove the bolt on the frame side
of the control arm.
That is a 21-millimeter bolt and we're going to use a large impact to remove it.
Now we can remove the bolt on the axle side of the control arm in the same way.
As you can see, once the bolts are out, the control arm will just fall right out.
So as you can tell, the control arm that we removed from the Jeep is not a factory one
but if it were factory or if you're replacing an aftermarket control arm like we are, this
step is going to be the same.
What we're going to be using this control arm for is length.
So, of course, the new J-Flex control arm is adjustable just like this one is.
All we're going to be able to do is turn this one end in or out here to get the length set
properly and because we're not changing anything else about the suspension on the Jeep, we
don't want to change the pinion or the caster angle, we want this length to be the same
so we're going to match up the length here.
You could, of course, grab a tape measure and measure to the center of hole to center
of hole but what we're gonna do because we have them on the table here is just line them
up and that will give us a really good way to make sure that these are gonna be the same
length.
So, we'll bring this out just a little bit more.
Once you have this set at the proper length, you can go ahead and tighten down your jam
nut but you're not really gonna be able to crank on that jam nut while the control arm
is on the table or in any way not attached to the Jeep so once you do have it attached
to the Jeep, it is a very important step to crank down the jam nut.
But again, don't try and put this thing in a vise or fight it any other way.
Just wait until you have it in the Jeep, that way it will be held very firmly on both ends,
then you can really crank down on that jam nut, making sure it's very tight.
So now that we have the length of the control arm set properly, we can pop it back in the
Jeep.
Now that we have the length adjusted, installing the new control arm is very simple.
Just do it in the reverse process that we removed the other one.
Pop it up into the frame side bracket here, push the bolt through, and just get the nut
started by hand at first.
Then we'll do the same thing on the axle side before we go back and tighten up both of those
bolts.
Now we can just go ahead and swing the control arm up into the axle side control arm mount.
You might wanna have a dead blow handy to tap it in place.
A pry bar can also come in handy here.
Once you have the bolt holes aligned, you can start the bolt going through.
Make sure it's lined up on the other side, drive it home.
Now that the nut and bolt are started on both ends, we'll get the impact and tighten them
down.
We'll follow the same steps to do the other side.
Just a few final notes on the installation, this bushing here, being that it's a factory
style rubber bushing, should really be tightened down when the Jeep is at ride height under
its own weight.
So you can leave this just a little bit loose, put the tires back on the Jeep, get it back
on the ground or take it off the jack stands, however you're doing your install, before
you tighten this down completely.
That's going to ensure that the bushing is at a nice neutral position when the Jeep is
at ride height.
That'll keep everything nice and quiet and will keep that bushing from wanting to bind
up on you.
If you do live in an area where you have a lot of salt on the roads in the winter like
we do or you're otherwise worried about rust, greasing up the control arm adjuster here
is a good idea.
Maybe you change your lift kit down the line, you wanna change up the length of your control
arm and you wanna make sure that you can actually lengthen it or shorten it should you need
to, putting some anti-seize on there is a good idea.
However, you wanna make sure you don't get on any anti-seize underneath where the jam
nut sits.
That will make the jam nut not tighten fully down and if the jam nut is loose, this whole
piece here can move.
You can get some wear on the threads.
I've even heard of some companies not warrantying their control arms because the jam nut wasn't
tightened.
I'm not saying that's the case with JKS, what I am saying is make sure you don't get any
anti-seize underneath the jam nut and make sure you tighten the jam nut down.
Some people think, "Oh, I don't have a tool large enough or I'll just make it hand tight.
It doesn't really matter."
It does matter.
Make sure you torque that down and make it nice and tight.
And finally, there are going to be a set of grease fittings, one per side on the heim
side of each one of these control arms.
Of course, make sure you use a grease gun, get a good bit of grease in there and grease
those with every tire rotation, every oil change, whatever you decide to do.
Just make sure you don't neglect those.
That way you're going to make sure that your control arm holds up for a good long time,
you don't have any wear or any unnecessary noise.
So if you are looking for a very high-quality set of adjustable front lower control arms
for your JK, I would recommend this option from JKS and you can find it right here at
extremeterrain.com.

A Flying Pig, Clever Schemes, & More! | Never Before Seen Cousins for Life Scenes | Nick - Duration: 5:14.
I'm making her favorite cupcakes, wanna help?
Sure, I'll help... by licking the bowl.
What is this?
Kelp, it's my secret ingredient.
You should keep it a secret.
[laughing]
I know what it needs!
Chocolate chips!
- Stuart! - You'll thank me later!
And I'll thank you now.
[laughing]
I know I'm your baby brother
but I am tired of you always treating me like I don't know what I'm doing!
- Because you don't! - Oh, really?
[laughing]
Give me one example!
How about the time you flooded the basement?
I was trying to build us a swimming pool!
And then what about the time you ate my goldfish?
- You said, "Eat him." - I said, "Feed him."
[laughing]
And the time you got grandma lost in the corn maze.
You have to admit, that was pretty funny.
Yeah, it was!
She was like, "Oh, no, I can't see over the corn!"
[laughing]
Gemma, this is my cousin, Stuart.
Love it, cousins are so in right now!
Thank you.
OK, look at what I got for tonight.
The nowest pastry in Portland.
Crusty Critter Shoe puff Tarts!
They are part donut, part cake, part fritter, part cream puff,
part strudel, part pie and part tart!
And you're part angel!
Those things are impossible to get.
I had to wait in line for three hours but I got eight of them,
one for each of us!
Oh, there's actually gonna be nine of us at the party tonight.
I'll be back in three hours.
[laughing]
Thanks, Gemma!
[laughing]
Hey, dad, I'm making some funny videos of Arthur to put online!
He's already got five followers!
That's great but I still haven't told your mom about him
so as of right now, we're gonna keep Arthur on the down low.
[laughing]
That is not on the down low!
More like on the... up high!
Speaking of high, where's Arthur? That little bacon bit still has my phone!
[laughing]
I think he's trying to video chat me.
[laughing]
- Arthur? - Gimme that!
Arthur, where are you? I need my phone back!
Wait, why am I talking to a pig?
[laughing]
He hung up on me!
[laughing]
Hey, guys, bad news, I injured myself and I can't jump-rope.
- Are you OK? - What's wrong?
I've got click wrist.
Oh, no, not click wrist!
Wait, what's click wrist?
[laughing]
It's a condition that occurs when you like too many posts on social media.
My friend put up all these pics of her new puppy
and O-M-cute his wittle face!
Picture it.
This little piggy went to market.
Intrigued.
[laughing]
Imagine Arthur pushing a cart up and down the aisles.
While looking adorable.
His little piggy hands picking out groceries.
While looking adorable!
He can do that?
Arthur's super talented!
He can do anything!
Did I mention... he was adorable?
[laughing]
This little piggy went to market.
I love it, let's do this, the part's yours!
See you tomorrow, that's a wrap!
Once he gets a whiff of this...
He won't be able to move out fast enough.
Hey... 'sup, roomies?
- Hey, Dad. - Hey, uncle Clark.
- Whoa, ew! - Whoa, ew!
Oh, no! It's that rotten fish smell again!
It happens all the time because of the er...
Rotten fish store that just moved in up the street.
My allergies have been acting up, I can't smell a thing!
[sniffing]
Nope, not a thing!
We're gonna crash Natalie's party
and expose her as a fraud in front of all her guests!
- Let me guess, that was your idea. - Yep.
Ivy wanted to send her a fruit basket with all un-ripe cantaloupe.
Can you... imagine?
[laughing]
Portland Rocks is having a smoothie drinking competition!
What makes you think we're gonna win?
Please, we come here every day, drinking smoothies is what we do.
They might as well hand us the passes now!
[coughing]
Went down the wrong pipe!
I'm good.
[coughing]
This almost never happens.
[laughing]
What are you doing?
Taking head shots of Arthur to give to the director
when we go to the audition!
This is his professional look.
[laughing]
His work look.
His smart look.
[laughing]
His adventurous look.
And his mysterious look.
[laughing]
Arthur's not in this picture.
That's what makes it mysterious!
[laughing]
OK, he was on the floor pooping!
That's why you can't see him.
[laughing]
Oh, I've got big plans for you, Arthur!
TV shows, movies, video games... maybe your own cereal.
T-shirts are just the beginning.
- That's one cool pig! - That's one cool pig!

Being a Voice for Change Kelsey Cowley
It was hard because most of the time like in elementary school, the principal didn't
listen to my mom when she would say, "Oh, she doesn't need this; oh, she needs this."
Because I was taking medicine throughout, from the time I was ten to now for my seizure
medication.
And if I had a seizure during school, they wouldn't' know what the plan was for, or they
would, the principal would like didn't really understand people with disabilities.
So it would be like, it would be, she just really didn't understand IEPs very well.
So with my, like I had a seizure and it was in there.
She just really didn't care.
Which is sad in a way.
School was, what school was like for me was very hard because I was picked on and, when
I was in school.
And people just didn't understand me.
They, they would use, they just didn't understand people with disabilities to the full extent.
And they would just use what they saw to pick on people with disabilities.
And I was - through that it was hard on the other hand because I stayed a couple extra
years in high school to get my high school diploma, or my GED.
My mom didn't want me to drop out just because of my disability.
She actually wanted me to make a life for myself.
And that, that involves having a high school diploma or GED.
After I got out of high school, they finally realized that I needed to start searching
for a job because I can't be sitting at home during the day or else I'd be getting into
trouble, that kind of thing.
Like a normal teenager or a normal adult would.
And they, that's when they realized that, that the VR needed to be more.
That I needed to see my VR counselor more, and I was seeing her more on a regular basis.
But then it, things, like I got my jobs on my own.
A couple of my jobs, most of my jobs on my own without VR's help.
And that's when they realized that maybe she doesn't need VR services.
I want to make change for people with disabilities and this would be a good start.
And then one of the things that I want to see happen is our group's, the board members
implement more of a community practice kind of thing.
So like when they, it will be like -- to get, it's basically to get more involved
in the community than, than they have before.
Because the best way to make your appearance is being involved in your community.
And that way people will know you're there, and you have an opinion too.
One of my dream, ultimate dream goals is to get into the State House and be a Senator
so I can be a voice in the State House for people with disabilities.
So like the Community and Practice Board that I'm on, I have, we meet regularly, but that's
where a lot of the, the, a lot of the states don't understand that there are many cultures,
there's people with disabilities.
And there's no services for people with disabilities in different cultures.
Just to have acceptance in the community.
Have people understand us.
When we say we have a disability, it's not because we're different.
We're actually trying to be like everybody else.
And have a normal life.
And we actually have an opinion.

you're entertaining on a nice warm summer night then you can actually open
all those doors and bring the indoors, or the outdoors in, and the indoors
out. Let's check out the outside.
There we go. Gorgeous composite deck, fully landscaped yard. There's the nice,
beautiful yard, green space behind you. Gorgeous... Don't get dizzy! I'm using
gorgeous way too much aren't I? So let's go back in. Hopefully this will give you
just a good feeling of the space. One of the things I always ask my buyers when
we're looking at a home, is "How do you feel inside the space?" And the space on
this home is just magnificent! These ceilings here are 14 foot ceilings, all
custom done. The attention to detail and quality is just amazing!
This home is done by Odyssey Homes, he's a custom builder here in the Portland
area and his standard of quality is beyond what you would normally see. Okay,
so here we are in the office, again ten-foot ceilings, built-in. Beautiful!
Tons of windows. I think there are a total of 36 windows in this home. And
again, French oak all the way around. We've got a bathroom, powder room down
here. We're gonna go back around, and there's the dining room. We'll go upstairs...
And you've got to see the master bedroom on this home! It is just wonderful!
So, stick with me on that.
So, we've got a wine cooler here... Nice little wine bar with storage... So, there are four
bedrooms, three and a half baths. There's the entryway into the dining
area again. Appliances are all high-end, Sub Zero, Wolf microwave and oven down
below. There's a 42 inch dual fuel wolf stove. So you've got... Basically, you've got
three ovens here. All the countertops are slab. Full slab. So you've got a huge
island and you've got the nice little what do you call that? Cutting or vegetable... sink!
Sorry, I lost my train of thought there for a minute. And then here's your
kitchen sink. Gorgeous! You've got a great view outside. You've got the dining
room here. Hopefully, you're getting a sense of the space here. And again, here's
another small deck out here, say for your barbecue grill or just relaxing. Now
here's, here's a full bedroom on the ground floor with a master bathroom and
walk-in shower. That's gorgeous! And then you've got a full walk-in
closet too. So if you have a relative, long term relative, mother-in-law, guests
that are visiting... then you've got them covered. And the nice thing is this is on
the ground floor. So if mobility is an issue, then you can...
You've only got that one step to deal with at the curb and then a small step
at the front door. Let's see... Okay so here's the pantry. Huge pantry! You've got
a few steps, three steps down to the mudroom level. Let me show you something
here in the garage. This is..., this is something you're not going to get in
other homes! You've got the full three-car garage, and not one, but two
separate heating systems. One for the upstairs and one for the downstairs. Folks
you don't get this in other homes! That's why I say Odyssey Homes is a premium custom
homebuilder. So you've got a little step there, and
then three steps up if you come in through the garage. Let's go upstairs! Again, please
click the subscribe button below and let me know in the comments what you
think about my running commentary. This is actually the first home I've done, so
it's new for me. But I hope it's informative and gives you a sense of the
space. Look at the styles on these this! It is just..., and the woodwork!
Everything is just quality! The focus on this is Quality!
Again, here's the downstairs dining area...
We've got the laundry room here. Washer/dryer area, full sink...
You've got the spot for all your cable and wireless, that sort of thing. And here's
bedroom number one. Again, tons of light! Gorgeous!
Okay so this is bedroom number one. And we've got a nice, wide-open hallway,
gorgeous view out the windows. You've got a linen closet off to the right here.
We've got bedroom number two here... And all these bedrooms are huge! Great sized
bedrooms. Walk-in closet. We,ve got bathroom number... Well, I guess this would be two
and a half now. Again, this one's got the tub with the shower. All the tile work is
custom. Just absolutely beautiful. You've got another closet here. Let me show you
this! This is, this is awesome! Okay. so here's here's the central vac
system right? You can turn it on... Let's see if I do this right. The hose is built
into the wall so you're not dragging around a huge hose all over the place.
It's all built in! Is that amazing?!
And you can lock it. Okay, so I got the thing back in. So this this is what turns it on. So that's
pretty cool! So every outlet for the vacuum has the hose built into it.
I think he said it was a 60 foot hose. Okay, so these double doors here... Again,
all the doors are 8-foot and you've got French oak on all the floors. This is the
media room. This room is ginormous and gorgeous! You've got smoked glass where your
media center is here all your remotes will work. Surround sound.
One, two, three, sorry if I'm making you dizzy, four, five speakers. Again this home
is priced it $1,395,000. I will put all the links below. Please subscribe and please let me know
what you think about the walking tour so that we can hopefully get better at this
and do some more. Here's what you've been waiting for! The master bedroom! Look at
the closet on this thing! This is huge! Gorgeous! I've had bedrooms smaller than
this!
Again, you've got a fireplace in the master. The views from this thing,
when it's not cloudy... It's a little cloudy here in Portland today. But the
views are just beautiful! All the molding work on the ceiling... Again, gas fireplace.
Everything is remote-controlled so you don't have wall switches or anything
like that on the fireplaces. And then you've got this huge master
bathroom suite. Linen closet here, soaking tub. The tub isn't jetted. But
again, look at the look at the view!
Double sinks. Again, all the countertops are slab and then you've got the walk-in
shower. All the tile work is just gorgeous! You want to come see this home! If you're
looking for quality in a home, you're not going to get any better than this!
This home is beautiful! So again, click the subscribe button, I'm going to try to
do new homes every week or so. Let me know in the comments what you think
about my running commentary. I will get better at it. Try not to say "UH" too many
times. Okay, so this is Kevin Davis your Portland area real estate broker with
Knipe Realty ERA Powered and this is 9977 Southwest Morrison
Street. Let me know what you think and if you want to schedule a showing, there

Counseling Children for Salvation - Sunday School Solutions - Duration: 2:41.
What do you do if a child comes to you
and says,
"I'm ready to become a Christian"?
There's one main thing to remember
when talking to a child about salvation.
Hi, I'm Kendra McGraw and this is Sunday School Solutions.
The one thing that you want to remember when talking to a child about salvation
is to ask questions.
Not questions that have answers like
"yes" or "no"—
that's too easy for kids.
You want to ask questions
that really get them thinking about what you're asking
so you know
how much they understand the Gospel.
Ask different kinds of questions—
questions about God
like "Who is God?"
and "Where does God live?"
About sin—
"What is sin?"
"Who has sinned?"
And then about Jesus—
"Who is Jesus?"
"What happened to Jesus after He died?"
All these questions about the Gospel
will help you know
what they know about the Gospel.
Use your Bible.
This will help children know that this isn't just something you're telling them,
but it comes from God's Word.
Use verses that back up your questions about God
and sin and Jesus.
Then you're gonna want to use a verse that talks about salvation
so the child really understands what it means
to be saved.
Use a verse like
Acts 16:31.
"…Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved…"
Then
explain the words that might be confusing to kids
like "believe" and "saved,"
and you're gonna want to say something like
"Believe means to trust completely
in what Jesus did for you
and that Jesus was the only one who could do this for you."
And then
"saved" means to have a friendship with God that starts now
and lasts forever.
Then you want to do something really important and that's
to ask the child if they believe in Jesus.
If the child says "yes," that's so exciting!
Encourage that child to tell God
that they believe in Jesus
and they want that friendship with God.
Once the child has chosen to believe in Jesus,
then there's so much more you can tell the child
about growing in their faith.
You can find all this and more
when you check out our blog.

Jonjo Shelvey to escape further punishment for tackle on Paul Pogba - Duration: 3:36.
Newcastle midfielder Jonjo Shelvey will face no further action for his full-blooded tackle on Paul Pogba
During Manchester United's 2-0 win at St James' Park on Wednesday night, Shelvey caught Pogba on the back of the knee with his studs showing in a nasty collision
Match official Andre Marriner spotted the foul though and did award the Red Devils a free-kick but opted not to issue a card to the Englishman
This means the tackle was considered dealt with by the football authorities and no retrospective action can be taken by the FA
Sportsmail columnist Mark Clattenburg believes Shelvey should have been instantly dismissed for the collision
He wrote last night: 'It was a very poor challenge from Shelvey which could have caused severe injury to Pogba
'Andre Marriner, who failed to recognise the severity of the challenge, has had a busy Christmas period
'Fatigue of all the travelling and matches may have contributed in his failure to spot that this is a red card challenge
'Pogba knows how bad the challenge was and goes in to gain some retribution later in the match on Shelvey, which failed to even get a yellow card
'Pogba has flourished during all four victories under caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and was key to the win over the Magpies
Midfield colleague Ander Herrera moved to praise the 25-year-old - who has four goals at the start of Solskjaer's reign - for tracking back with gusto and keeping things simple in his own half
'Paul's playing really, really well. Not only with the ball,' Herrera said. 'I think as soon as we lose the ball he is ready to defend, ready to help the team
'He is playing very simple and effective in our half, and then when he is in the opponent's half he has that magic to change the game, so we are really happy for him
'He is very important for the club - on the pitch and off the pitch as well. We have to help him to make him feel free and that's what we're doing
'
