Is Madoka Magica Yuri? - Duration: 5:51.
Aside from its story and characters, Madoka Magica gained popularity among many fans for
its yuri (female on female) subtext.
However is Madoka Magica truly a Yuri Anime?
Now this might seem like a simple question with a simple answer however those who have
watched the anime know its much more complicated than that.
Especially because of the way the third Madoka Magica movie ended since Homura Akemi who
is more or less the main character of the story at this point made it very clear to
main antagonist Kyubey that her feelings for Madoka were in fact feelings of love and she
confessed as such after stealing Madoka for herself and rewriting the universe.
And since when it comes to talk of Yuri and Yuri subtext Homura and Madoka seem to be
at the center of it more so than the other girls lets analyze there relationship to determine
if there is truly Yuri love within there relationship or not.
Homura's affection toward Madoka seems to go beyond the normal boundaries of friendship.
Homura wasn't just content with saving Madoka's life or stopping her fate, she also wanted
her feelings for Madoka to be reciprocated and acknowledged by her.
Now episode 11 presents a scene in which you have Homura embracing Madoka and confessing
to her and due to the nature of the words she used in this scene many fans have been
divided as to what her words actually imply.
But lets dig into to her actual confession and try to determine what the true meanings
of her words imply.
Homura mentions to Madoka that There's no way I can tell you how I really feel.
I mean...
I mean...
I'm living in a different time than you!
'I've come from the future, you know?I've met you over and over again, and each time,
I've seen you die.
How can I save you?
How can I change your fate?
I've been looking for that answer and that answer only.
I've gone back and started from the beginning over and over again."
"I'm sorry.
I'm sure you don't get any of this.
I'm sure you're put off (disgusted) by all of this.
To you, I haven't even known you for a month - I'm just some transfer student.
But to me, you..."
"Each time I repeat all of this, the time you and I lived grows further apart--our feelings
grow further apart, and my words stop reaching you.
I think I lost myself a long time ago"
"My desire to save you: the first emotion I had that started this all.
And now that I've come this far, the only star left that will help guide my way...
You don't have to understand.
My words don't have to resonate within you.
But still, I beg you.
Let me protect you.
Now as mentioned before fans are very much divided when it comes to this scene.
The ones that seems to ship Homura with Madoka heavily who are also fans of yuri
see this scene as Homura's love confession to Madoka and a promise to protect her life.
However other fans who are more neutral to there relationships only see this as a power
of friendship moment that is often applied to magical girl anime
In which all Homura is doing is pledging to protect her precious friend in the form of
Madoka against a cruel fate.
Fans of yuri see this as Homura promising to risk her life for Madoka's sake, even if
it is an unrequited or one-sided love
Now another note I would like to make about this particular episode and scene
is the Japanese voice actress of Homura actually had some words to say regarding this scene
as well and mentioned
that she found the confession scene to be touching and emotional, and left her with
a huge impression.
She confesses that she cried.
And the Japanese voice Actress of Madoka found the scene to be amazing and filled her with
emotions.
Aoi Yuuki felt that her and Madoka became synchronized during the emotional scene.
Aoi Yuuki believes that, surely Madoka would have accepted Homura's feelings
Now If your someone who has seen the magical girl anime known as Revolutionary Girl Utena
which has one of the greatest and heavily debated yuri couples in anime history then
you would know that within the movie there is this erotic scene of one of the girls posing
naked as another girl is scene drawing her picture while later deciding to strip down
in her birthday suit as well and Information boards seen Madoka can be seen within the
same style in Utena's classroom as well.
Basically the set up for those two situations as well the environment around the situation
could suggest the creators were trying to recreate the same atmosphere within Madoka
that was presented in Revolutionary Girl Utena which might suggest they are subtly implying
the yuri connection between Madoka and Homura through Homura's confession
So the final question I leave you with is Is this scene depicting a powerful moment
of friendship against all odds?
Or is this Homura's attempt at a love confession where she promises to protect Madoka's life
with her own life?
Sadly I'm out of time but I want to dig more into this subject since we still have so much
cover about the nature Madoka and Homura's relationship and feelings for each other as
well as the relationships the other girls have within the series but that digging will
have to be for another time and another video for now please be sure to like this video
since it helps me to you if you enjoyed it plus it helps my channel and subscribe if
you enjoyed and let me know if the comments if you think I should turn this into a series.
Anyways I'll catch you all in the next video this is Mami-Sexual signing out peaceee

Imagining Canada's Future Cities - What is a future city? - Duration: 1:05.
What is a future city?
So in 2015 leaders from around the world adopted the UN Sustainable Development Goals
These are a set of 17 high level ambitious goals to set a vision for the future, for
a better world
From economic growth to innovation, to climate action, to clean water and sanitation, the
sustainable development goals incorporate a lot of urban issues and things that are
important to cities throughout Canada and the world.
And these are the type of transformations that I am working on towards creating the
future of cities in Canada.
So to me a future city is a connected city
One where technology, and sensors and everything to do with the internet are all connected,
and mobility is an important part of a future connected city.
Transportation is the lifeblood of communities, and it's important that in a future city,
we have mobility options and we have transportation system that serves the needs of all people,
for all purposes of travel.

'Of course, I won't [want to leave,] I don't want to,' said Solskjaer.'It's such a great bunch of players, atmosphere, but it's the next game, it's the next game, it's the next game, and I'm doing my job as long as I'm here

God is Our Deliverer, Part 3 - The Promise | Pastor Allen Jackson - Duration: 2:05.
Thank you for taking just a minute with me.
We're working on a short study around the idea that "God Is Our Deliverer," and
in this session, we're going to talk about "The Promise" that God has made to you
and me.
I want to start with a verse of Scripture.
It's from Isaiah, chapter 59 and verse 19.
It says, "When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the spirit of the Lord will lift
up a standard against him."
The times in my life when I have most needed God's deliverance were the times when I
didn't expect the assault – when there was some unanticipated circumstance: a diagnosis
or a need or a financial challenge or a relational problem.
Something caught me off guard, and it felt like the enemy showed up all of a sudden
- unannounced, unexpected, unanticipated - and I've got a problem.
That's when I need the promise, that when the enemy comes in like a flood - an unexpected
deluge - that God will raise up a banner against it.
God is our Deliverer.
This isn't about me outthinking evil or outworking evil.
It's the promise that God will help me.
Now I want to add one more verse to that.
It's in Matthew 7, and Jesus is teaching a parable about a house that's built on
the rock or a house that's built on the sand.
You may know the parable.
But it says, "The one who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like
a wise man…"
I want to be wise in Jesus' eyes.
"…who builds his house on a rock, and when the rains come and the streams rose and
the winds blew against the house, it didn't fall because it had its foundation on the rock."
Here's the certainty: In my life and your life, the wind and the streams and the rain
– the storms are coming.
They're a part of life.
We're not going to avoid them, but if we build our lives on the right foundation, no
matter what junk may get thrown against us, we'll stand through the name and the authority
of Jesus.
That's the promise, and that's our hope today.
No matter what challenge you face, in Jesus' name, there is strength to deliver you.
I want to pray with you before we go: Father, I pray that in Jesus' name the strength
of a Living God would fill our lives.
Thank You that You bring stability to us. In Jesus' name, amen.
God bless you!
