And on October 23rd, seven minutes after the Ford Government announced that they
intended to repeal Bill 148, the College Employer Council that represents all 24
colleges was the first one to welcome the repeal within a few minutes of
having announced that. (SHAME)
No other public sector group congratulated the government for it.
They were happy that they were taking away paid sick days,
clawing back on the Minimum Wage,
and ending equal pay for equal work that we had been fighting for.
People expect colleges and universities to make peoples' lives better, to be
model employers, not to make it worse. The reason the colleges could put out a
press release so quickly is that they knew what was coming and they had

Commerce's campaign to spread lies and misinformation about the impact of
decent work laws. We've come to learn
that at least six colleges and more
universities have been a part of this campaign; that is a shame!
This bill is being passed or will be passed with no consultation.

They're not even in their offices on Constituency Day.
Maybe she's sick and couldn't show up for work?
What's the per hour minimum wage for MPPs?

calling Doug Ford and telling them to keep their hands off workers rights!
