Hello! Welcome to Mornings with Stacie. Where high achieving
entrepreneurs, like Emily and like me, are gonna help you set the tone for your day
since you're a high achiever entrepreneur, too. Emily is co-hosting with
me today Emily, I would love for you to let everyone know, who's watching and
listening... Who you are, what you do, who you stand for and how you help
people through your business. Awesome thanks so much for having me, Stacie.
My name is Emily Frias. I am a professional video producer. I've been a
video producer in
you
videos for companies and organization so is definitely business-to-business and
it was about a year and a half ago that I decided to retouch entrepreneurs
because in the whole networking experience affecting my own business I
came across a lot of amazing entrepreneurs a lot of them went in who
also wanted to do video for their business and use it for that on the
marketing aspect especially on the online marketing but I found with the
kind of videos that I produce with hiring professional crew and cameramen
and editors and production assistants the production was just too large for
what they needed so I went off about a year half ago and started another branch
of my business where I do consulting and coaching for entrepreneurs and really
educating them on how they can easily create polished professional videos
themselves and use that to market themselves online so that's what I've
been doing on top of my video production company so it's been busy but I
definitely enjoy it Wow I love it thank you so much Emily
for sharing all the brilliance that you do and and I love I love video I love
video I used to be the biggest video phobe. Y'all know who have been following
me for a while. And you know, the power of video
what it does with us working in this virtual space, there's still so many
entrepreneurs that aren't using it and I would love to talk about that real
quick and then I would love to talk about a few other things.
I know there's some people that are watching and listening right now,
Emily, who are absolutely terrified of getting on video and maybe they don't
know how to get into that. You know,
with me, I like to just go ahead
and jump in. Not just get m toes wet but just literally jump in.
So, what could you share with people watching and listening who would
like to use live video because they know the benefits . They hear it all the time.
What would you say to them to help them get off that fence and jump right into this?
Yeah! Well, I would say there was probably a time where they...
If you started a business, there was a probably a time where you were scared
about starting your own business. Right? But then ultimately you just decided to
do it and whether that was kind of dabbling in it while you were still
in your nine-to-five and having that side hustle you still somehow stuck your
foot in the water and you started doing it it's the same thing and when it comes
to video and it's the same thing when it comes to anything that you see is
worthwhile doing but it's a little maybe scary at first
and I would say you're not going to get over that fear until you just do it so
especially when it comes to live video because I think that's what people may
fear the most just going out there and putting themselves out there live but as
a matter of fact well maybe not as a matter of fact when my opinion is when
it comes to live video an audience is much more forgiving because you're just
going on the fly right so I mean I think the best training ground is just flip
that live video button and just go for it and have a topic prepared about what
it is you want to talk about maybe let your audience know in advance hey I'm
gonna go live as such a such time and date join me to talk about X whatever it
is and then just just let it rip and you know you may not you may have one person
watching we have no people watching but you know what you're still doing it and
whatever you think other people are thinking maybe that's part of the
feeling oh I'm going live and nobody's there who cares
you did it you have to be proud and the effort that you're making to push
yourself and stretch yourself and grow in doing what you know is a valuable
asset for your business as you promote yourself every single social media
platform has been optimized for video yeah and if you want to get started if
you want to get started in video live video is the best way to go and then
from there you can just work from it I I really enjoyed doing my my weekly videos
I have a weekly video blog that I post video with weekly video tips and those
are all pre-recorded and and edited because I love that process and video
creation but live video is also a great way
just get started and jump in and I find that it's actually easier to look into
the lens and speak when you're just live as opposed to something that's recorded
because your mind makes that mental connection of others somebody watching
so I can actually you envision who you're talking to that much easier when
you're live so you may find that it's easier for you to talk in that scenario
before you start doing your pre-recorded videos and you edit them together and
all that stuff they're both very valuable both live and pre-recorded
edited videos and both really good yes yes thank you for sharing that and Emily
I love how you just you know shared that you know as entrepreneurs we always do
scary things I mean and and it always ends up being better for our personal
growth better for our business and especially those of you who know that
you should be using video Emily has some great suggestions for you and me
personally I love live video and you know I stutter I have my toddler that
joins me on my live streams and you know in my audience loves it you know they
they love it when Jordan you know shows up and they you know I always get that
they love it when you know I don't show up licking all you know dressed to the
nines all the time you know because that's I'm not all the time you know
sometimes I'm in my hiking outfit sometimes I'm in my pajamas you know I
mean who knows what I will be in when I go live but but that's the thing it's
about the bonding with arm our audiences in a very natural way so you hear Jordan
right there in every way so I think it's been the most impactful for my business
like going live now as far as like the recorded videos I know that's like a
little bit more formal a little bit more polished and I know that's something
that you you help help your clients do so so I guess the question is for anyone
that's wanting to create more polish videos for you know say a Thank You page
or quick to tour just something a little bit more
professional and polish like I think some people might be intimidated about
like like the tech behind it and how long it's gonna take and like what tips
can you share about that yeah well I would say start as simply as you can and
that's totally fine the thing about video it's such an easy or the most
effective Avenue for you to present who you are your whole persona your
personality the way you talk your mannerisms everything it's such an easy
way to capture all of that and share it with your audience and the cool thing is
that now you can do that with your smartphone and even now I'm using my
iPad to do this call with whip Stacy and I have a couple lights on I'm making
sure that I'm that I'm well within my room is well lit and then I'm just
speaking and I have my bluetooth headphones that I usually use to work
out what I mean but that's what I'm using right now and it's totally fine
so I was saying like favor example that's a what a good example that you
brought up Stacy is just doing a simple thank-you video and with somebody that
maybe opted in for a freebie or for a simple tripwire offer that you had for
them um just saying thanks thanks so much for
joining for signing up for this I really hope you get a lot out of it on this
information you know I'm passionate about doing ABCD efg all it could be
such a simple video and especially it fits as a thank you like you haven't
used the video up until then to say thank you and just present who you are
to that to that audience to that person I think that can can do a lot and just
developing that relationship because really that's what video affords us
there's a sista tist ik that says video helps grow revenue 49 percent faster
than not using video but 49 percent faster in revenue yeah I had to have to
look it up several times I didn't believe it at first well yeah video
video helps to grow revenue faster and I believe that's because of the unique
capability video has to make a connection with individuals one of the
things that I tell my clients when I'm producing videos for them or want them
to be when I'm console' - what entrepreneurs is video is not
about information video is about me motion yes it has the power to evoke
emotion and people and if one of the things that you want to think through
okay what is what I want my what I want my audience to feel whether they're
reading something from me or they're getting information from here if they're
watching the video what I want them to feel me I like my my audience to feel
comfortable and to feel empowered with knowledge that they may be a warm point
thought was too much too overwhelming for them to grasp so I love being
encouraging I like being funny because I like being a little entertaining with my
videos it's just part of my quirky personality looks but all that and can
so hold that to say that I'm allowing myself to be Who I am on camera and and
it is what it is an interesting that the right people are gonna connect with that
and I found some more and I have found like just like you said today see like
you know like sometimes I'm I'm in my jammies or whatever when I make mistakes
on on video those are the things that people really relate yeah you don't have
to be perfect to be on camera nobody connects with and that's the
thing and we have like that mentality that we want to go or you want to be
perfect gonna be excellent and the thing about video is that you you give
yourself grace in being who you are and you see how people relate to that I just
released the video yesterday where I was talking about just the way I have my my
lighting set up in my room and and I met up with the word I said roof instead of
ceiling and I was like and I just left it in the video yeah so so back to the
video I said keep it as simple as possible if you have if you're using
your smartphone and you have some kind of weather type odd or even like a
handheld device that provides you more stability in making your video and you
have good lighting you can you can let it rip and just take it from there and
then of course like you'll see how cool it is I mean you just want to grow from
there so I always encourage people start with the fair minimum get comfortable
and what you do because what you don't want to do is start doing the whole on
camera thing and then you bought all this equipment and I don't know today
and then you can overall they need you just quit because we have to keep things
simple like that is my motto like I always say use what you have now and get
fancy later that's wasted just like trying to over plan I mean of course you
don't want to come you know your presentation of course isn't gonna be
sloppy but don't let things stop you like don't think that you cannot you
know shoot a video because you don't have the right lighting go outside
during the day tap done be your life absolutely so glad you brought this up
so we have the ladies who are watching and listening we have some great video I
saw a significant jump in my business last year from using video and this to
be the biggest video so my one of my clients actually pushed me to do and I
love her dearly for it because like I swear I thought I was gonna have a heart
attack video I love being able to connect with people on the live stream
it's like it's just like just sealing the bond like I I love it and
I'm like the biggest introvert but I love it I love the connection I love
that the community in my community feels more like a community just because of
the live element I mean look at this example ladies like Emily and I we're
having a conversation what won't live and well video and we're also giving you
an opportunity to chime in comment we're also you're also relating
to us at the same time you see us we are and that is absolutely powerful powerful
my goodness I could go on and on and on about this like video absolutely excites
me Emily and I thank you so much for showing up today and sharing sharing you
know your brilliance because this is your thing and I love that I love I love
being able to connect with entrepreneurs that just have this thing that they're
just so good at and it you know that they can do it in their sleep so before
we close out and of course I Emily I would love for you to come back and we
can definitely talk about whatever you want a morning Smith Stacie because you
know 20 minutes is just not enough I know right it's like just like that
but I would love for you to share how people can connect with you I know you
have a gift for people that are watching that absolutely amazing and yes I would
love for you to share like where they can connect with you and yeah go for it
okay cool so you can definitely go to youtube and you can look up Emily frías
video and you can have a link for that right baby so it could my youtube
channel if you want to subscribe I post weekly videos with awesome
tips on how you can get going with video how you can improve your video how to
get comfortable speaking on camera all that good stuff and I also have a guide
that I created it's a PDF guide that shares what kind of equipment you can
use as far as audio and video equipment whether you do want to get a camera or
if you want to get started with your smartphone and what other simple things
you can use to help you get going with that so there'll be a link to that and
you can definitely follow me on Instagram and that's Emily Frias video
as well so mantastic and I would love to come back I would love to come back and
talk about video with you anytime yes yes I love it so so ladies here's here's
your opportunity to jump on board jump on board those of you who aren't
consistent with video let today be the data be consistent
just think about the the bigger impact you'll make in people's lives you'll
attract the right people to you because I absolutely believe this 100% that
people are not just attracted to you for the thing that you do it's who you are
as a person and video you know in this virtual world is the way to help you
connect with people so get that gift from you know what so true like you said
something earlier you said the power and what came to mind is the power of
relatability yes and people take that for granted because we are scared to be
vulnerable and transparent but the more relatable we are people just connect
with that oh my she's like her kids screaming in the background that was
happening that happened to me talking to a client and I was trying to hide the
fact that I'm a mother it's okay it's okay to be you and especially with like
the same age of social media where there's so many people a lot of people
doing this online business thing right and what's going to carve out your
audience you allowing because you allowing yourself to be who you are
I'm not going to person that teaches video online no but I'm allowing myself
to be and the right audience the right
individuals are going to follow me because they're going to connect with
some aspects of who I am because I'm allowing those aspects to come through
in Who I am on video in my communication style and all that stuff so I mean to
doing asha printer entrepreneurship and online online business and all that it's
just like a really great exercise in selfic self-acceptance
yeah and doing videos so much once so much more with that you know fully
because if you're not fully you know if you're not sharing it fully you're not
only doing other people disservice but I mean you know I I should share this and
then I share we will have the description please Emily out continue
the conversation with their connect with her see what she has available for you
she has a youtube show so there is a wealth of information that emily has for
you. Thank you so much, Emily. It's been absolutely amazing! Likewise. Thanks so
much for having me. You're welcome. Alright, we are out of here for Mornings
with Stacie and we will be back!
