Hi YouTube author Stefanie Newell and this is The Life Of A Writer channel!
Today's video - Best Apps For Writing A Book. So if you want to connect with
readers and sell more books make sure to subscribe and get new content to your
inbox every Tuesday. But in this video we're going to be discussing the best
apps for writing a book, but before we get started, down in the comment section
share with me the apps that you're currently using in
order to write your book! So this first app is Wattpad. It's
described as a storytelling platform which basically means that you can not
only write your book on this platform, but you can also share your writing with
this community of over 65 million readers and writers. Now this isn't an
app that I personally use but it does come highly recommend it by other
writers. Next up is Final Draft. Now this is a software that I use on my computer
but it's also an app that allows you to write and edit your screenplay on the go.
You can also send or share your files between multiple platforms and backup
your work to Dropbox and iCloud. Now this particular app is going to be really
good for those of you who are interested in writing screenplays, TV sitcoms, and
stage plays. The Otter app is described as a smart note-taking app. Now although
it's not intended for this purpose, it can also be useful to writers who are
unable to type their book. And one thing that I really like about this app is
that the transcriptions are usually pretty accurate. You can export the audio
or the text, and you can share your transcription via email or text. Another
app that is useful for writers is the Kindle app. Amazon's Kindle app allows
you to turn your iPhone or iPad into a Kindle, so you don't even have to
purchase a Kindle you can download this free app and it allows you to read
e-books directly from your phone or your iPad. Now this app will help you to do
research on your genre, target audience, or writing in general. I personally use
this app for research purposes and learning, so use your imagination and
think of different ways that you can help to improve your writing. The List
For Writers app is one that I just found recently but I absolutely love this app
because it allows you to create character profiles.
Now when I say character profiles, I don't just mean the physical
characteristics or the name or occupation of your
character. This app provides suggestions for just about everything that you can
think of as it relates to your characters. So for example: milestones
that they may have during the book, their belief system, and behaviors. And it also
allows you to give consideration to plot and geographical locations. I mean this
app is absolutely extensive and I just started using it with my clients as well.

I was fortunate enough that they were completely on board,
and they were just over-the-top excited about it.

Meghan has been royal for almost 5 months now but her feud with her father Thomas and her half-sister Samantha have regularly hit the headline
In her old lifestyle blog The Tig, which has since been deleted, the Duchess of Sussex explained how a stress coping technique had changed her life, and it is believed she might still practise it today
Meghan revealed how meditation had made her "much happier", bringing her "more success, more fulfilment, more happiness, less worry
"The Duchess started the practice after a friend introduced her to Light Watkins, an LA-based meditation teacher, who gave her lessons on Vedic meditation to channel inner peace and calmness
Vedic meditation is one of the oldest meditating techniques, originating from north Indian almost 10,000 years ago
Speaking about the practise, Meghan described it as the "type of meditation that Russell Simmons swears by, that people say changes their life and the trajectory of their future—more success, more fulfilment, more happiness, less worry
"At first, Meghan was skeptical of meditation and found it difficult to allocate enough time in solitude, because of her busy schedule as a Hollywood actress
She wrote: "I know you'll think of a million excuses as to why this is silly or why you don't have time for it; much like the day I told Light I didn't have enough hours in the day to do it, and he told me that's why I needed to mediate twice as much
"Not gonna lie, I rolled my eyes thinking 'oh give me a break, mystic man'. But low and behold, this mystical man was right
"I urge you to give it a shot. The worst thing that can happen is that you gave yourself ten minutes of quiet in an endlessly loud world
"However, Meghan soon began to love meditating, describing it as "the quietude that rocked my world"
She added: "I can't put my finger on the why or the how, but I will tell you this much, for me, I am just happier
And meditation has much to do with that." Meghan's meditating coach, Mr Watkins, previously told InStyle: "I didn't get the sense that she was overly stressed out or anxious or anything like that, it just seemed like she was already on a wellness path
""So I think she just saw meditation as just another tool that she could use because she has the resources and I guess the time to explore
"I think it ended up being a lot more profound than she originally thought. It seems like she was in a relatively good space beforehand and in a better space afterward
" Mr Watkins revealed how he still emails Meghan with daily motivational tips, which the Duchess sometimes responds to
He added: "Every morning I send it out at 6 a.m. and it's just like a minute read of just an inspiring anecdote or maybe a story, and she responds to those from time to time
"So I know she's still getting something and I'm pretty sure she's still meditating
" Meghan and Harry are set to embark on a 16-day Australia tour in October, and will be visiting Fiji, Tonga and New Zealand
Harry will be hosting the 2018 Invictus Games in Sydney, where ill and wounded veterans are set to compete in a series of sporting events
