Waching daily Oct 4 2017

Hey everyone, in a previous video we talked a little bit about this story of

the Mexican Fishermen and the American Business Man and if you guys haven't

seen that one yet you should go check it out, it's titled

in a way that you'll recognize it but really the point of the story was to

know what it is that you want and sometimes what we want doesn't require

exactly what we think it does and in keeping with that principle I wanted to

share with you a very quick but valuable TIP that I got actually from a book

written by Tim Ferriss. And I believe if I remember right I hope I get this right

I think he calls it Dreamlining -- and basically what this exercise does,

what it asks you to do is take out a sheet of paper, so you can do this right

now, take out a sheet of paper and a pen and start making a list of everything

that your Dream Life would entail that costs money.

So you're not going to want to list things maybe like find my dream spouse

or something like that because you can't really put a financial amount to that

obviously but list things, you know, that you want -- they could include

you know how many vacations a year do you want to go on, how much do you want

to give to worthy causes, what kind of car do you want and what

would the payment amount be for that car. So basically what you want to do is

write out everything that would entail your ultimate lifestyle. Now this is not

the time to think how we normally think which is okay what's reasonable or

what's likely, this is the time to go okay, if everything was available to me

what would I list, what would I ask for. List it all and then in the column on

the other side list the amount of money per month that thing would cost. If it's

a Lamborghini then... (correction) *List the

amount of money a Lamborghini lease would cost per month. If it's four

vacations a year, whatever, divide that amount of money you need for four

vacations up into a monthly cost listed there

then add the total up to find out what your dream lifestyle would cost per

month. And the beautiful and cool thing about this exercise is what it often

reveals is that it would really require a lot less than you think to have the

lifestyle you dream of having. A lot of times we think in order to create a

dream lifestyle we'd have to have Justin Bieber money, right? We'd have to have

millions and millions of millions of dollars coming in per month. What we find

out when we actually look at it and we actually do the

math is that our dream lifestyle, the one that we would consider really

the ultimate, is oftentimes a lot closer to us and not nearly as far away as we

thought. So it's an exercise that will give you a

little bit of motivation, a little bit of maybe even excitement and I can't wait

to hear your feedback on what it was like for you when you do this exercise

so go ahead and do it now. Get out a pen and piece of paper and let me know your

thoughts in the comments below.

What is Music Therapy? - Duration: 1:18.

Hello everyone!

Well, October is music therapy month here in Ohio, and as a member of the Association

of Ohio Music Therapists, the American Music Therapy Association, and serving on the task

force for advocacy here in Ohio, I really strive to educate and advocate for music therapy.

This month I'm going to do some short video clips that answer some frequent questions

I get.

First question, most common, is What is music therapy?

Music therapy is an allied health profession, that is evidence-based, that uses music and

our relationship with music to help achieve a variety of goals-whether they're physical,

emotional, spiritual, social, musical--whatever that goal set might be for the person.

And as a music therapist, I'm really focused on the client's experience of the music, and

how their mind and body experience the music so that we can change and regulate their self.

I believe that to be human is to be musical.

My mission through Living Music, is to help people live their music.

So thanks for tuning in.

I'm excited to share more with you this month!
