>> The reason why I just chose Curtin Sarawak it's
because here I get to open up myself
to different cultures.
>> One of the major factors
is Curtin offers a campus lifestyle.
>> I looked at the ranking of
Curtin and so that was a really good ranking.
>> And not just that,
you actually graduate with a degree that's
equivalent to an Australian degree.
>> I'd just done my internship program.
I got to work in an oil and gas company as well.
>> And a couple my good friends
also were seniors here in the mass comm department
and looking at them now and where
they're at and what they produce and
what they contributed to our community,
it's just so inspiring.
>> As I entered the
campus and on orientation week,
meeting people from different backgrounds,
different cultures, different nations,
I felt like I was in a microcosm of the world itself.
>> At least one or two units
out of a semester, they always ask you to
work in a group which opens up your world of
possibility and your mind to know how
other people view.
>> You get to see
different ideas and different perspectives.
>> Because in the end of the day
when you're working outside there,
you're not working alone.
>> The lectures in Curtin University
are highly qualified. They also
have relevant industrial knowledge and experience.
>> The lecturers here are very friendly,
they're very open and they want to help you.
>> They encouraged us to go all out,
go crazy, just go insane with creativity.
>> They also have labs with like a
lot of equipment, where you get
hands-on there and then try and then do
experiments by yourself.
>> Actually having
hands-on experiences, looking at things
in the field as they are in situ and not
just in the textbooks, it makes a world
of a difference to the education that I receive.
>> I want to be a mumpreneur.
A mumpreneur is where you're both a mother
and an entrepreneur itself.
>> After getting my degree, I actually
thought of pursuing my further studies,
my postgraduate as well.
>> I just want to change the world.
I want to put colour into
people's lives with my degree.
I'm not sure how yet but I'll get there, hopefully.
>> I really want to use my degree
in my country because we are having
projects that are poorly managed.
>> Yes I do want to get a better education,
get a better job, but at the same time I'd
like to forge a better future, not just
for the country but for the next generation
that comes after me.
