Bible Study: Prayer- the Key to Abiding in Jesus - Duration: 3:31.

In John 15 verse 4 Jesus said: Abide in Me, and I in you.

This is one of the most important commands

in the Bible, because it contains the key to successful Christian living.

This key is revealed in another of Christ's statements.

When Jesus cleaned out the temple the second time at the close of His ministry, He said

to the money changers as He drove them out: It is written, My house shall be called the

house of prayer; but you have made it a den of thieves.

As I like to share with people, sometimes

it's not only what someone says, but what they don't say that's equally important.

Notice Jesus said "the house of prayer."

He did not say the house of singing, or preaching or teaching or baptism or fellowshipping or

scripture reading or even Bible study.

Though there is nothing wrong with any of those things, it's important to understand

that He said My house shall be called the house of prayer.

Prayer is the number one thing that is suppose to

be going on in church.

The Apostle Paul says: Know you not that your body is the temple

of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which you have of God, and you are not your own?

That means the temple of our body also needs

to be a house of prayer.

So whether we are at home or at church, we need to abide with God in prayer.

So why is it so important to God that we abide in Him?

Right after Jesus said, "abide in Me, " He added:

As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can you,

except you abide in Me.

In the next verse He repeated Himself again

Hi, my name is Cyree Jarelle Johnson,

and I am one of the poetry editors

for Deaf Poets Society.

And this is my

crip futurism pep talk.

So, I'm not big on space—

I have always felt more terrestrial—

so I can't say a lot about going to space

But what I can say is that

as someone with lupus

I have been on chemotherapy

and drugs for years

and what I want to think is that

maybe, if a nuclear bomb drops

I would be like immune

or something

because of all the unique chemicals

running through my bloodstream.

It's an untested theory,

but that's sort of where I'm at with that.

As far as being in space,

I have to hope that

with an autism spectrum disorder

I would be better able to communicate with aliens

having always felt like an alien

on Earth.

Um, I don't know about physical differences,

because I spend a lot of time hoping that

there isn't some sort of eugenicist arc.

"Let's send all the people like us to space,"

and then leaves us [disabled people] there [on Earth].

But, um,

yeah,

that's—those are my thoughts.

something's not done in the next

two years -- it'll be beyond

repair.

Last Week -- First News Anchor

Stan Boney toured South Field

House -- to

check on its condition -- and

reminisce about old times.

Stan Boney: From the top row --

it's easy to imagine South

Field House being sold out

for a Friday night rivalry game.

But imagine is all you can do.

These bleachers haven't seen

fans in five years. The

backboards and rims have been

moved to

the Covelli Centre. A stray

basketball -- sits on a bed of

dust surrounded by dead

birds.

Booker Newberry: "I WISHED THEY

HAD THE HOOPS UP, I'D PLAY YOU

ONE ON

South High in the early 90s.

From the moment we walked in --

he was ready to play

Friday toured South Field House

to see what shape it's in

it.

Field House opened in December

of 1940 -- it was the Mahoning

Valley's premier basketball

arena -- the home for both South

High and Youngstown

State.

Stan: From a distance the front

still looks good -- but out

back bricks are missing --

and you can see cracks -- into

which water is leaking and

causing damage.

One estimate to fix the Field

House is 1.5 million dollars. A

been set up.

hopes those

memories can be turned into

something positive.

Booker Newberry: "HOPEFULLY THE

CITY CAN GET IT DONE."

TO REVITALIZE IT AND BRING IT
