7 tips to build endurance with the jump rope. For Beginners - Duration: 3:38.

The Jump rope is the boxers best friend, but I say that every swimmer needs this exercise

as much as they do.

Jumping rope a few minutes every day can increase your coordination rhythm and mental focus

It is a good warm up exercise.

There is no need to jump for very long periods of time; jumping rope rapidly increases your

blood flow.

It is also good to improve your breathing efficiency.

Being a rhythmic exercise, like swimming, will force you to coordinate your breathes

with the movements of the jump.

Having stated the main benefits, I will show you some tips on how to jump rope better.

You can read the benefits in more detail in the description of this video.

Now let's see some tips on how to learn to jump rope.

1- It is easier when the rope is the right length for you.

It should be at shoulder hight folded in half.

2- Grab it by the end of the handle and don't squeeze too tightly.

The wrists are going to act like a whip so have them loose while moving up and down.

3- You can start by jumping with the rope by your side.

This will help you start learning to coordinate without hitting yourself with the rope or

tripping over it.

Don't get use to this though because the sooner you start making mistakes the faster

you will learn.

Start jumping high and moving the arms slow.

Connect several jumps together and then start building up speed.

As you build up speed, start doing smaller jumps.

To the point where you no longer need to bend your knees and just use your calves to push

you up.

4- Look straight ahead watching as the rope passes.

Listen to the rope as it hits the floor, this will help you coordinate the next jump.

5- When the rope hits the floor you should reach the highest point of the jump.

6- Finally, just practice.

If you are patient and persistent your body will find ways to jump rope very fast and

consistently.

Remember that it is better to jump a 5 to 15 minutes every day or every other day, than

trying to become a master jumper in a 2 hour session and quit after.

Here are some tricks you can learn in order to build up your coordination, rythm and focus

even further.

If you want to buy a jump rope I will leave some links for you in the description.

You don't need the best rope in order to jump well.

Find one at a medium price that can help you learn faster and make it easier for you to

jump often.

Sewol-ho ferry to leave for Mokpo New Port - Duration: 2:44.

This morning... the Sewol-ho ferry starts its final journey to Mokpo -- where it will

undergo investigation to find the exact cause of the disaster,... and hopefully recover

the remaining nine bodies still unaccounted for.

For more on the latest of the ferry recovery operations, let's go live to our Kim Min-ji,

who is at Paengmok-hang harbor -- near the site of the sinking.

Min-ji, the semi-submersible transporting the ferry was scheduled to leave at 7AM....

have preparations to move the Sewol-ho proceeded as planned?

Ji-hye **Yes... just minutes ago... the Sewol-ho

ferry embarked on the journey to its last destination, Mokpo New Port -- one-thousand-80

days after it capsized off Korea's southwestern coast.

**The semi-submersible -- with the Sewol-ho on board -- is undergoing a last minute checkup

before it sets off to its final destination of Mokpo New Port -- one-thousand-80 days

after it capsized off Korea's southwestern coast.

The semi-submersible transporting the ferry will need to make a few detours on the way

due to a number of islands in its path,... so it will cover a distance of about 105 kilometers...

taking around eight hours.

It will make a brief stop on its way to take a pilot on board.

It will have to keep a look out on the way,... as tidal currents are strong,... and the seas

are narrow in this area.

Five maritime police patrol ships will accompany the semi-submersible until it arrives safely

at the port.

The oceans ministry has told us that it's putting the utmost priority on safety during

the journey.

We hope that everything goes according to plan and there are no further delays.

When can we expect the ferry to arrive at Mokpo port... and what happens next after

its arrival?

Well if everything goes as scheduled,... the semi-submersible is expected to arrive at

Mokpo at around 3PM, Korea time.

Then,... over the course of about three days,... sea water and oil will be drained from inside

the vessel and 50 attachment sites which secured the Sewol-ho ferry to the semi-submersible

will have to be undone.

Then a module transformer will be use to get the vessel onto land -- which will take about

a day.

So all in all, officials expect about four days in total,... providing the weather remains

favorable and there are no problems with the equipment.

After that, the vessel will undergo disinfection and pest control for about a week.

From then on, a search will take place to find the nine missing people whose bodies

have yet to be recovered,... and an investigation will begin into the exact cause of the sinking,...

which killed 304 people in April 2014,... some three years ago.

A special committee tasked with the investigation will work with the families of the missing

to map out the best way to find their relatives by early April.

I wanted to join Victoria Police many years ago.

When I was 21 I actually applied

and was moving through the progress and found out I was having my son

so unfortunately I had to put everything on hold.

But it's that dream that's been burning in me for many years.

I finally applied. It was the best thing I could have done

within six months I was in the academy.

What makes a good police officer is someone who is mature

someone who is confident, somebody who is willing to be challenged

and hasn't gone in blindly.

Young people can have a wealth of life experience

and what they bring to the job, and what they bring to

the role will be of benefit to the community and to Victoria Police.

Have your family involved too. Have them understand that this is a way of life.

It's not an easy job, it can be a very hard job.

But it is a very worthwhile job as well.

If someone was applying to become a Victoria Police Officer, I would say go for it.

and it's important to recognise the tendency

but to then look at where you can influence some control.

So, when you catch yourself worrying about something

out of your control,

ask yourself two questions.

One, what makes this seem worse to me?

What is it that makes me feel more stressed

about this situation?

Because the situation itself might be out of control

but how you feel about it,

what your fears and anxieties about it are more

within your control.

And then two, what action can you take to deal

with those things to make it seem a little bit better?

It might be that you start to fill in some blanks

in terms of lack of knowledge about a situation

that's coming forth.

It might be that you tackle the worry and fear

and it soars because the thing that's having control

may not actually be the cause, the root cause of your fear,

it may be a symptom.

So, look at something, ask yourself

what makes this seem worse to you

and then identify some actions that can help you make

it seem better to you?
