THE 70 INGREDIENT CANCER-PROMOTING MCRIB SANDWICH ITS NOT REAL FOOD

McDonalds is the king of marketing, having created a cult-like following surrounding

their McRib sandwich.

Originally introduced in 1981, McDonalds made the sandwich a special selection

menu item available in certain regions at different times.

It has come and gone throughout the years, now making a triumphant return at the end

of 2013.

Disturbing is the only word to use to describe such a monstrosity, as the McRib contains

over 70 ingredients for an item that is supposedly compiled from a bun, a barbecue patty, pickles,

and onions.

In fact the McDonalds official website is daring enough to list all of the ingredients

contained within the franken-creation.

The Meat.

*Taken from the McDonalds website

MCRIB PORK PATTYIngredients: Pork, Water, Salt, Dextrose, Preservatives (BHA, Propyl

Gallate, Citric Acid).

The pork is restructured meat, meaning that there is no real quality meat involved.

Instead they use the disposable innards of the pig such as tripe, heart, and scalded

stomach, which are then turned over to a process that cooks all of the pig scraps in water

and salt.

This process extracts all of the salt-soluble proteins and congeals everything together

into a rubbery concoction respectfully titled as a pork patty.

Notice the ingredients propyl gallate and BHA.

This preservative is one to look out for, as it can cause promoted urinary bladder and

thyroid carcinogenesis.

Studies have noted that BHA and propyl gallate showed additional effects in inducing stomach

hyperplasia and cytotoxicity.

But we already knew McDonalds meat was sub-par.

Lets move on to the bun.

The McRib Bun

MCRIB BUN

Allergens: WHEAT AND SOY

Ingredients: Enriched Flour (Bleached Wheat Flour, Malted Barley Flour, Niacin, Reduced

Iron, Thiamin Mononitrate, Riboflavin, Folic Acid), Water, Yeast, High Fructose Corn Syrup,

Contains 2% Or Less: Salt, Corn Meal, Wheat Gluten, Soybean Oil, Partially Hydrogenated

Soybean and/or Cottonseed Oils, Dextrose, Sugar, Malted Barley Flour, Cultured Wheat

Flour, Calcium Sulfate, Ammonium Sulfate, Soy Flour, Dough Conditioners (Sodium Stearoyl

Lactylate, DATEM, Ascorbic Acid, Azodicarbonamide, Mono- and Diglycerides, Ethoxylated Mono-

and Diglycerides, Monocalcium Phosphate, Enzymes, Guar Gum, Calcium Peroxide), Calcium Propionate

(Preservative), Soy Lecithin.

CONTAINS: WHEAT AND SOY

Thats almost 40 ingredients for the bun alone.

Interesting that high-fructose corn syrup is the fourth ingredient considering it is

known to cause pancreatic cancer.

If the hydrogenated oils alone dont ring your alarm, then perhaps the ammonium and

calcium sulfate will, seeing how their common usage is as a soil fertilizer.

Thats nothing to worry about, however, considering the FDA approved it as a safe

food additive.

Azodicarbonamide takes the cake for unnecessary ingredients, acting as a dough conditioner.

Azodicarbonamide is used in the manufacture of foamed-plastics in the U.S. and is banned

in Europe and Australia.

The use of this chemical in Singapore actually results in jail time.

The McRib Sauce

MCRIB SAUCE

Ingredients: Water, High Fructose Corn Syrup, Tomato Paste, Distilled Vinegar, Molasses,

Natural Smoke Flavor (Plant Source), Modified Food Starch, Salt, Sugar, Spices, Soybean

Oil, Xanthan Gum, Onion Powder, Garlic Powder, Chili Pepper, Sodium Benzoate (Preservative),

Caramel Color, Beet Powder.

Here we see high fructose corn syrup again as a main ingredient.

PICKLE SLICES

Ingredients: Cucumbers, Water, Distilled Vinegar, Salt, Calcium Chloride, Alum, Potassium Sorbate

(Preservative), Natural Flavors (Plant Source), Polysorbate 80, Extractives of Turmeric.

Even the pickles are carcinogenic.

Potassium sorbate is a genotoxic and mutagenic compound.

Surely a ribless rib patty would raise questions for anyone as to how such a thing

could even exist.

Marta Fearon, Marketing Director for McDonalds, says the lack of actual ribs is what

gives the item its quirky sense of humour an interesting spin from a marketing director.

If this information were common knowledge, would people still be eating these things?

The good news is that fast food nutrition awareness is spreading like wildfire.

McDonalds was shut down and banned in Bolivia, Bermuda, and Iceland in the past decade.

Stories such as the Strange Fibers Found in Chicken McNuggets and the McRib Breakdown

are making headlines as people are beginning to make more conscious decisions about the

food they are choosing to put in their bodies.

Perhaps the day of worldwide McDonalds prohibition is just around the corner.

Let us at least hope.

Putin Addresses Arctic International Forum: There is no potential for conflict in the Arctic - Duration: 7:41.

Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen,

Mr Niinisto, Mr Johannesson,

I wholeheartedly welcome all of you to Russia, to Arkhangelsk.

It is the second time that Arkhangelsk is hosting The Arctic: Territory of Dialogue international forum.

This is symbolic, because Arkhangelsk is closely connected with the events and individuals that have opened the polar latitudes to the world.

We will mark one of such "polar" events this year.

I am referring to the 85th anniversary of the famous Otto Schmidt expedition,

which for the first time covered the route from the port of Arkhangelsk to the Pacific Ocean within one navigation season,

launching regular navigation along the coast of Siberia, the legendary Northern Sea Route.

The importance of the Arctic has increased manifold.

The attention of many nations is focused on the Arctic as a region whose wellbeing determines the global climate,

a treasure trove of unique nature and, of course, a region with a huge economic potential and opportunities.

Preserving the Arctic as a territory of constructive dialogue, development and equal cooperation is a matter of fundamental importance.

This forum, whose theme this year is People and the Arctic, has a great role to play in this.

The forum has brought together respected academics, business leaders and politicians and has become a venue for serious professional discussions of the current situation and the future of the Arctic, as we hoped it would.

The forum is important for promoting different forms of Arctic partnership.

Your expert views and initiatives are also taken into account at the Arctic Council, which has over the past 20 years served as an example of effective international cooperation that continues unabated by external change.

Russia, which accounts for approximately a third of the Arctic zone, is aware of its special responsibility for this territory.

We aim to ensure its sustainable development, create a modern infrastructure, develop natural resources, strengthen the industrial potential,

improve the quality of life for the indigenous Northern people, maintain their unique culture and traditions and provide government assistance towards these goals.

However, these goals must not be viewed separately from the task of preserving the biological diversity and the fragile ecosystems of the Arctic.

It is gratifying that the protection of the Arctic environment is a key priority of international cooperation in this region, including research cooperation.

I would like to remind you of one more important date in Arctic history: the 80th anniversary of the Soviet drifting ice station North Pole.

Its traditions have been taken up by the Russian drift station Barneo, which is home to researchers from around the world.

Academic cooperation and the exchange of experience and programmes are extremely important, considering the large-scale plans for the development of this region, particularly within large international projects.

A recent positive example is the Yamal LNG project, which is being implemented by seven countries.

Russia believes that there is no potential for conflict in the Arctic. International law clearly specifies the rights of littoral and other states and provides a firm foundation for cooperation in addressing various issues,

including such sensitive ones as the delimitation of the continental shelf in the Arctic Ocean and the prevention of unregulated high seas fishing in the Central Arctic Ocean,

which is surrounded by the exclusive economic zones of the United States, Canada, Denmark, Norway and Russia.

I would like to reiterate that Russia is open to constructive cooperation and does its utmost to create a proper environment for its effective development.

We have drafted a fairly extensive economic programme for the Arctic designed for many years to come.

It already includes over 150 projects with investments estimated at trillions of rubles.

First, we will support the initiatives that have a multiplier effect for the Arctic regions and our country in general,

including public-private partnerships and what is known as core development areas, which we treat not just as territories,

but primarily as a set of coordinated and complementary projects, as well as state support tools.

These and many other activities will be included in the revised state programme for the development of the Russian Arctic.

In particular, it deals with forming a block of modern research and technological solutions designed specifically for the harsh Arctic conditions,

improving the environmental monitoring system and developing offshore deposits.

We pay special attention to the Northern Sea Route, which I mentioned earlier in my remarks.

Changes in the ice situation and the availability of new up-to-date vessels makes it an almost year-round artery, at least, it will become one in the near future.

It will be an effective and reliable transport corridor with great potential for the Russian and global economies.

I have already instructed the Government to work through the issues of creating a separate entity, which will be in charge of the integrated development of the Northern Sea Route

and contiguous core areas, including infrastructure, hydrography, security, management, and all associated services.

We invite our foreign colleagues to make active use of the opportunities offered by the Northern Sea Route,

which will cut transportation costs and delivery time for goods between Europe and Asia.

However, we are well aware that for that corridor to be competitive, all-purpose, and usable by carriers of all types of goods ranging

from bulk cargo to containerised freight, transport companies must enjoy the most favourable terms that meet the latest international standards.

In closing, I would like to thank all the participants for their participation in the constructive discussion of the Arctic issues, and their passion with regard to its future.

Special thanks go to my colleagues – the President of Finland and the President of Iceland – who took the time out of their busy schedules and attended today's forum in person.

Such a broad and authoritative international representation is a good sign of the political will of the Arctic and other states to preserve the Arctic as a territory of peace,

stability and mutually beneficial cooperation.

Thank you.

Prince Harry only started courting Meghan Markle last summer, but the royal is reportedly now - Duration: 2:25.

Prince Harry only started courting Meghan Markle last summer, but the royal is reportedly

now in a hurry to settle down with the Suits star.

According to a new report, Harry, 32, is reportedly about to move into a new apartment at Kensington

Palace, where he would be living with Markle, 35.

Prince Williams brother is apparently eager to finish the renovations of his pad, so he

could have Markle move in with him as soon as possible.

He keeps popping round and asking when it will be ready, one source told Daily

Mail.

He seems in a real hurry to move in with Meghan. The publication noted that the

Horrible Bosses star was a regular visitor at Harrys two-bedroom bachelor pad, which

is where Harry lives in the palace.

In addition, Prince Harrys new apartment is situated near the new home of Prince William

and Kate Middleton.

This has prompted rumors that Prince Harry and Markles engagement will be announced

soon.

However, Kensington Palace has refused to comment on this speculation.

Earlier this month, Prince Harry and Markle attended his best friends wedding in Jamaica.

The royal prince wanted to catch up with the happy couple, Tom Skippy Inskip and

Lara Hughes-Young, during a ski trip in Zermatt.

However, Harry changed his mind after Prince William was filmed dancing and partying in

an all boys ski trip.

Everyone was expecting him, but hed be mad to be seen here after the furore his

brother created, one source told Mirror.

Meanwhile, Prince Harry and Markle enjoyed a romantic tour of Londons Natural History

Museum a week after attending the Jamaican wedding.

The couple reportedly spent a lot of time together because Markle was due back in Canada

in a few days to film the new season of her hit series, Suits.

Theyre trying to spend as much time together as possible as Meg has filming commitments

over the spring and summer, one insider told The Sun.

But she feels that a move to London is inevitable as their relationship becomes more

serious.

Do you think that Prince Harry is really in a hurry to move with Markle?

Are you hoping to see another royal wedding soon?

How a Butterfly Flap can Influence the Weather Forecast | Maths is all Around us - Duration: 3:23.

Maths is all around us.

It's almost impossible to think of something that isn't made without the help of mathematics.

Buildings, transport, technology, medicine-- even clothes and food…

…all rely on numbers, measurements and sums.

We even find maths in the weather outside.

Every type of weather - a cloud floating by, a storm, or the heat of the sun -

can be written down as maths.

Our ancient ancestors used maths to make their forecasts,

along with studying the clouds and the sky.

In the early 1900s in England, Lewis Fry Richardson developed the basic maths we still use

to forecast the weather.

But it was so complicated and took so long that it would have taken around 64,000 mathematicians

all working together to get the forecast done!

Nowadays scientists use super computers, which are so fast, they can do the maths for us

faster than millions of people working together!!

These scientists, called meteorologists, study our atmosphere -

the layer of gases around the earth - and the weather.

All over the world, the weather is measured using instruments and satellites

to help find patterns and make forecasts.

But if you've ever heard anyone complain because the weather forecast was wrong,

you'll know that it isn't as easy as you might think.

This is because weather is a complex system.

The chaos theory or butterfly effect is often used to explain this.

The atmosphere is always changing: even a tiny change, like a butterfly flapping its wings in one place,

can make a HUGE difference to the weather in other parts of the world.

These little changes can happen anywhere at any time.

So the meteorologists worked out even more maths formulas that can include them.

Thanks to these and faster computers, our forecasts are getting much, much better, although

they are still only able to give a good result a few days ahead, not for next month.

The meteorologists don't just give short term weather forecasts;

they study the weather over long periods of time too, to help us learn about climate change.

Climate change is a long term change in the usual weather in an area, such as more rain than before,

or a change in temperature.

While weather can change in a few hours, climate, the normal weather over a large area,

usually takes hundreds or even millions of years to change.

Knowing about the weather is important for growing our food, preparing for severe conditions,

and for helping anyone whose work is affected by the weather, such as sailors and pilots.

It's also really, really handy when planning our spare time and what we're going to wear for the day.

Proving again that maths really is all around us.

Reputation Vs. Resume - The Recruiter Diaries (Episode 9) - Duration: 2:24.

This week we're talking reputation over resume.

What do you think that means?

So this week on The Recruiter Diaries

we're going to talk about your

reputation versus your resume.

Now I want you to think...

what is that going to mean to you.

If you look in the yellow pages,

there's going to be 12 different

mechanic shops in your town right?

What's the first thing you want to know about?

You want to know about their reputation.

They can all fix your car.

They're all equal by the phone book other than one's

alphabetically higher than the other.

Maybe they're AAA versus AA

versus C, D, blah, blah, blah.

But what do you really want to know about is their reputation.

Are they a good shop?

Are they... Good, fair prices?

When it comes time to job searching...

Your reputation...

Can do a lot more for you than your resume.

When everybody's job searching,

they all look the same. You all have great features on

your resume because you've watched

how many of mine now?

But people are going to ask

or give you recommendations

What about this person?

Are they a hard worker?

What skills do they have?

Tell me how they fit my team best.

A lot of times your reputation precedes you.

And people may be calling you.

Having never seen your resume.

But based on your reputation of word of mouth.

So think about that as

you're doing your job search.

That if you don't have a great reputation,

sometimes your resume

is not the thing holding you back.

That's it for this week.

We'll see you next week.

What two things have you taken away from this series?
