MEGHAN Markle and Prince Harry are very happy together, according to a friend of the Duke

and Duchess of Sussex.

Meghan and Harry are enjoying their first year of marriage, author and journalist Bryony

Gordon revealed.

Ms Gordon spoke about the loved-up couple during an appearance on ITV's Lorraine.

She said: "They are so adorable.

I saw them recently and genuinely lovely, happy, you know, first flushes of love, first

year of being married.

I'm like just you wait!"

And Ms Gordon discussed her friendship with Meghan, describing the US-born former actress

as "lush".

"We talked about yoga, she is, again, really lovely and normal and down-to-earth.

I think if you put any family under a microscope you will find weird dynamics that could make

headlines, but fundamentally I think they're a really lovely couple."

These positive reports come after weeks of negative publicity surrounding Meghan, including

details on a supposed feud with Kate Middleton.

Not to mention, Markle's American family members are continuing to embarrass the duchess

with new interviews.

On top of that, half-sister Samantha is promising her tell-all book soon.

At any rate, royal fans will be glad to hear this assessment of the couple.

There's also been reports that Harry is happier after quitting his alcohol consumption,

which is also believed to extend to a caffeine ban.

At the same time, there's been a picture painted of Meghan that she's controlling,

including her own father saying as such during an interview.

Ms Gordon spoke to Harry about the death of his mother Princess Diana in her Mad World

podcast in April 2017.

In the interview with Ms Gordon, Harry admitted he "shut down all his emotions" following

the tragic death of his mother in 1997.

Harry said: "I can safely say losing my mum at the age of 12 and then shutting down all

my emotions for the next 20 years has a serious impact on not only my personal life but my

work as well.

"And it was only three years ago from the support around and my brother as well that

I realised it wasn't normal to deal with this, and to think nothing has affected you.

"My way of dealing with it was sticking my head in the sand and not thinking about my

mum because why would that help?

It's going to make me sad and not bring her back."

This thought was further emphasized by reports that the duchess had banned Harry from an

annual hunting expedition on Boxing Day.

However, the rumors were dispelled when the prince showed up to join William for the hunt,

with Meghan joining them afterwards.

Whatever the case, it appears that the couple is doing as well as ever.

They certainly look happy and in love during public appearances, with fans appreciating

all of their PDA moments.

Harry met Meghan in July 2016 after being introduced by a mutual friend.

At the time, Meghan was based in Toronto, Canada, to film US legal drama Suits.

But the pair embarked on a long-distance relationship, never going more than two weeks without seeing

each other.

They announced their engagement in November 2017 and married in May 2018.

The couple are expecting their first child in the spring.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have never been shy about showing their affection for

each other during royal engagements.

And while there is a very clear difference between how the Duke and Duchess of Sussex

act in public versus in private with their friends, the glimpse of their relationship

they've shown the world isn't too far off from the one they've shown their pals.

Journalist Bryony Gordon, a friend of the couple's who interviewed Harry in April 2017

about his mental health and his seeking help after his mother Princess Diana's death, talked

on ITV's Lorraine show in the UK about her impressions of them.

They really are very, very in love.

"[They are] so adorable," Gordon said.

"I saw them recently and genuinely lovely, happy, you know, first flushes of love, first

year of being married.

I'm like just you wait!"

Gordon also talked about her impressions of Meghan, who she had lunch with recently.

"She's lush!"

Gordon said.

"But it would have been like going out for lunch with you.

We ate monkfish, she fed me some of hers, we swapped food.

We talked about yoga.

She is, again, she's really lovely and normal and down-to-earth."

Gordon also acknowledged the tabloid headlines the two have generated are less about who

they are and more about the scrutiny their position puts on them.

"I think if you put any family under a microscope, you will find kind of weird dynamics that

could make headlines, but fundamentally, I think they're a really lovely couple," she

said.

This is one of the first times a friend of the two has gone on the record to speak about

their relationship.

Both their and Prince William and Kate Middleton's close companions largely avoid being interviewed

about their royal friends.
