The Gunners extended their unbeaten streak in all competitions with a 1-1 draw at home to their Merseyside opponents as Alexandre Lacazette cancelled out James Milner's effort in the 82nd minute
But Wright hailed the impacts of winger Alexander Iwobi and Aaron Ramsey off of the bench with the Nigerian applying the pass that cut open Liverpool's back-line for the equaliser
Former manager Wenger was often criticised for failing to replace underperforming players and for waiting until the mid-way point of the second half to make any changes whatsoever
But Spanish tactician Emery has shown no reluctance to switch things up, even taking the bold decision to replace top goalscorer Aubameyang against Liverpool as they chased a goal to draw level
In addition to Iwobi's assist, Arsenal's introductions have helped contribute to nine goals with Arsenal winning more points from losing positions than any other team in the Premier League this term with eight
And Arsenal legend Wright is delighted by the approach Emery is showing towards substitutions
Analysing the game on Match of the Day, Wright said: "I thought Arsenal were under pressure because a lot of people have been saying on this [unbeaten] run that they haven't played anyone of substance
"Obviously they lost to City and Chelsea at the start but I think they proved a lot of people wrong today because they came out and really had a go at Liverpool
"I thought they deserved something out of it. You could see Unai Emery talking about wide, that's the areas where you can hurt them and Hector Bellerin and [Sead] Kolasinac were wide
"Iwobi came on and was brilliant, he's not afraid to make substitutions - 10 goals they've been involved in, six goals, four assists
"He came on again and really made a big difference for us, Arsenal kept it alive and were mentally stronger
"I think it's 19 goals they've scored in the second half of games when they're 1-0 down
"Alisson, maybe you can question him but Lacazette, great run and fantastic goal
"We've got a manager now who is not afraid to make changes and the changes are making a difference
" But Emery felt his side had the chances to win the game - although acknowledged that Liverpool also had opportunities of their own to claim maximum points in north London
He told reporters: "I am happy with our performance. I think the balance in 90 minutes is more positive in the control against them, but it's difficult not to let them have chances also
"You need a little luck in some moments in the match and when we are attacking we need to find our goal
"The result in the end is 1-1 and I think it is a good result after we were losing 1-0
We could have lost in one moment and in the 90 minutes we could have won also."
