The eagerly awaited Red Dead Redemption 2 recently released for fans all across the

world, however, it turns out that not all regions around the world received the same

version of the game.

As is made clear by the ESRB's very long rating summary, for which it earned an ESRB M rating,

Rockstar's follow-up to the 2010 western gun slinging adventure is by no means a tame experience.

Due to its content, the Japanese versions of the game have had to have several changes

made and this is despite it receiving the max Z rating from Japan's CERO rating system,

meaning 18 years and over.

The Japanese rating system has rules in place which prohibit certain types of graphic content,

even if games are assigned with the max rating.

Violent content is one of these areas that can run into issues over in Japan and this

can be seen with the Japanese version of Red Dead Redemption 2.

Whilst dismemberment is possible in the Japanese version, the body parts simply explode and

vanish.

In the English versions, limbs will detach from the body and stay onscreen.

Textures also differ between versions, with the Japanese versions no longer showing bones,

internal organs and other gory details.

These restrictions on violence also interfere with some other elements of the game, such

as the Stranger Mission "American Dreams".

This mission sees you going on a long quest to track down a serial killer, and is a bit

like a puzzle as you find random disfigured corpses within the game's world and then cryptic

messages around the victims.

As well as the messages, you will be able to find the corpses' heads located nearby

and within each of their mouths is a piece of a map, which you need to try and locate

the killer.

In the Japanese versions though, the corpses are no longer missing body parts and all of

the other gory details, such as internal organs, are no longer shown.

Despite this however, the corpse's heads are still located in the same places - with map

in mouth.

This is despite the corpses' not missing their heads when you find them.

It isn't just violence though that runs into issues over in Japan.

Whilst simply suggestive content is ok to be shown in Japan, things like explicit nudity

is not allowed to be shown in games rated by the Japanese rating system.

This means that wherever you can see things like explicit nudity in the game, the Japanese

version will have had to make changes.

For instance, in the Japanese version of the brothel scene where you get drunk with Larry,

the women you walk in are fully dressed - whilst in the English versions they are wearing no

clothes at all.

There are 2 of these NPCs that you can walk in on with both being changed to fully dressed

over in Japan.

However, sometimes suggestive content will be changed in Japan even when no explicit

content is shown.

This means that a scene in the game where a guy has his trousers pulled down and is

threatened with castration unless he tells them what they want had to have edits as well.

In the Japanese version, the scene is kept the same, but when the character performs

the action of pulling his trousers down, his trousers simply stay in place.

This makes the animation, as well as the characters' reactions somewhat confusing in the Japanese

version and also means you will no longer be able to see any of his bare skin.

YouTube Is CHANGING Your Comments - Duration: 4:43.

according to the YouTube channel top flutter Mouse YouTube is altering

comments what is even happening he says that this has happened to him before but

he actually got a video of YouTube automatically changing his comment on

camera this channel has 1.1 million subscribers he's a pretty big youtuber

so the fact that this is happening to him or anyone else is pretty strange hmm

detective Charlotte's on the scene what is really going on here is YouTube

really changing people's comments on purpose welcome back to impart overload

I'm Charlotte dobre smash that subscribe for daily updates on trending news

that's actually relevant to you so I'm gonna ask you guys to let us know about

stories that you find that would be great for IO and it's honestly been so

helpful the story suggestions from you guys are flowing in Sarah Smith tipped

us off about this story on Twitter thank you so much Sarah and by the way if you

also want to tip us off about any stories that you hear about check out

the description for all the links to our social media Jeff from the YouTube

channel tell flattered mouths was typing a comment on a recent curious droid

video he typed this definitely is from an era when atomic power was the

solution to everything he wrote the comment press return but then right

before his eyes the comment changed to something else it changed to this would

definitely be a solution for everything apparently this has happened to him a

few times but this was the first time that he got it on camera later that day

he went back to the same video commented again and then the comment was altered

again Jeff then asked his subscribers in the video if they had noticed this

problem as well and many of them said that they have so what could be an

explanation for this according to one of the top comments on the video check your

PC for malware this shouldn't be happening

if it's not malware then we need to mass migrate to pornhub I mean I agree with

the first part of that comment it could be that tell flattered mouse has

installed some sort of software on his computer that is automatically changing

comments I'm not really aware of any software that does that but that could

be one explanation according to another response from fr7 galaxy it could also

be from Google Translate transferring from another website happens to video

titles all the time so maybe this youtuber turn on some sort of translate

feature that was changing his comments for him without his knowledge so those

are a couple of options other people were saying that this could be some sort

of conspiracy where YouTube typically Google is trying to limit free

speech it's no secret that Google is cracking down on far-right youtubers

they've already bad people like Alex Jones but if they were trying to limit

free speech by changing people's comments they probably wouldn't allow it

to happen right in front of your eyes so you could see your comment being changed

or would they another theory floating around is that

this is all thanks to some sort of AI BOTS going rogue or a glitch that's only

happening to this one Channel I feel like the second option could be likely

but then if it was just a glitch why does this seem to be happening to a lot

of other people there are other channels and users that have reported the same

problem some have also posted videos that show YouTube editing comments

without their permission just so you know it is possible to block comments

from certain subscribers so that they can't comment on your channel we've done

that to a few people Shh and it's also possible to block out key words things

like swear words and racial slurs so if you use your rights and offensive

comment it will only show up in the hidden comments and not on the actual

video so just spoiler alert if you've ever written a negative comment with

some racial slurs or swears in it and it hasn't showed up in the comments feed

that's why but I have never heard of someone's comment being changed

completely and still added to the comment section so if Google really is

moderating or changing comments without permission that really affects their

credibility I mean like that's horrible could this be some sort of way to censor

people's comments so that it fits some sort of bigger agenda I honestly don't

know since to fledermaus posted this video on October 21st

he couldn't reproduce this abnormality this was just an issue that he noticed

that he decided to share have you guys noticed YouTube's changing your comments

why don't you let me know down there but I'm gonna do some comment replies for

now I genius said hi potato Queen I was watching IO for a long time before 1

million subs keep up the good work oh well thanks for being such a loyal

subscriber we definitely will david condon said people will hate on

everything no matter what it is yes no truer words have ever been spoken who

hurt you who hurt you today earth soup said Charlotte are you a couch potato

sometimes I plan to be a couch potato tonight cuz it's gonna be lit as hell

Raman Mallya said I legit never get featured men maybe because I hate the

taste of potatoes you did not just say that you did not just say that

welcome to the N screen this means the video is over don't worry you can keep

watching IO by checking out this video over here and obviously if you enjoyed

your time here leave a like subscribe and turn on those notifications so I can

Why the pencil is perfect | Small Thing Big Idea, a TED series - Duration: 3:40.

Translator: Krystian Aparta Reviewer: Camille Martínez

The sound is a really big part, I think, of the experience of using a pencil,

and it has this really audible scratchiness.

(Scratching)

[Small thing. Big idea.]

[Caroline Weaver on the Pencil]

The pencil is a very simple object.

It's made of wood with some layers of paint

an eraser and a core,

which is made out of graphite, clay and water.

Yeah, it took hundreds of people over centuries

to come to this design.

And it's that long history of collaboration

that, to me, makes it a very perfect object.

The story of the pencil starts with graphite.

People started finding really useful applications

for this new substance.

They cut it into small sticks

and wrapped it in string or sheepskin or paper

and sold it on the streets of London

to be used for writing or for drawing

or, a lot of times, by farmers and shepherds,

who used it to mark their animals.

Over in France,

Nicolas-Jacques Conté figured out a method of grinding the graphite,

mixing it with powdered clay and water to make a paste.

From there, this paste was filled into a mold and fired in a kiln,

and the result was a really strong graphite core

that wasn't breakable, that was smooth, usable --

it was so much better than anything else that existed at the time,

and to this day, that's the method that's still used in making pencils.

Meanwhile, over in America, in Concord, Massachusetts,

it was Henry David Thoreau who came up with the grading scale

for different hardnesses of pencil.

It was graded one through four,

number two being the ideal hardness for general use.

The softer the pencil, the more graphite it had in it,

and the darker and smoother the line will be.

The firmer the pencil, the more clay it had in it

and the lighter and finer it will be.

Originally, when pencils were handmade, they were made round.

There was no easy way to make them,

and it was the Americans who really mechanized the craft.

A lot of people credit Joseph Dixon

for being one of the first people to start developing actual machines

to do things like cut wood slats, cut grooves into the wood,

apply glue to them ...

And they figured out it was easier and less wasteful

to do a hexagonal pencil,

and so that became the standard.

Since the early days of pencils,

people have loved that they can be erased.

Originally, it was bread crumbs

that were used to scratch away pencil marks

and later, rubber and pumice.

The attached eraser happened in 1858,

when American stationer Hymen Lipman patented the first pencil

with an attached eraser,

which really changed the pencil game.

The world's first yellow pencil was the KOH-I-NOOR 1500.

KOH-I-NOOR did this crazy thing

where they painted this pencil with 14 coats of yellow paint

and dipped the end in 14-carat gold.

There is a pencil for everyone,

and every pencil has a story.

The Blackwing 602 is famous for being used by a lot of writers,

especially John Steinbeck and Vladimir Nabokov.

And then, you have the Dixon pencil company.

They're responsible for the Dixon Ticonderoga.

It's an icon,

it's what people think of when they think of a pencil

and what they think of when they think of school.

And the pencil's really a thing that, I think,

the average user has never thought twice about,

how it's made or why it's made the way it is,

because it's just always been that way.

In my opinion, there's nothing that can be done

to make the pencil better than it is.

It's perfect.

Is it moral to send criminals to space? - Origin - Duration: 7:19.

- [Narrator] Thanks to our sponsor Youtube Originals,

for working with us on this episode

of Space Court Origin Edition.

Welcome to Space court.

On this episode we take a look at the THEA PROJECT.

Siren Corporation's plan to colonize the planet Thea

in the Nexus constellation 5 light years away from Earth.

In return for participation in the project,

individuals will be given a clean slate,

where everything from their old life is forgiven,

allowing them to get a fresh start on a new world.

Let's head to the Space Courtroom.

Dominic Evilman is an extremely successful

and totally legitimate businessman

who operates entirely above board.

Even though he's got nothing to hide,

why would you even ask ?

He's looking to start off with a clean slate on Thea.

Mr. Evilman's here to prove that the Thea Project

is a good idea and is hoping secure a spot

on the next transport to the colony.

Dan Gruber is a self proclaimed Sci Fi Nut

who's seen enough movies and T.V. shows to know

that forcing characters with mysterious pasts

into a new frontier trillions of miles

from the rule of law is a recipe for disaster.

He can also perfectly replicate blueprints

of the Enterprise D from memory,

but it's unlikely that'll be used in this case.

Mr. Gruber's here to prove that colonies

like the Thea Project are terrible ideas

and hopes to get the project canceled.

- All rise! Space Court is now in session.

The honorable Space Judge Astra presiding.

(Teleporting)

- Whoo! Man I'm glad we finally got

that transporter installed.

Remember when I had to walk in?

That took forever.

Okie-dokie, let's take a look.

Hoo boy we're tackling one of these moral quandaries

and I haven't even had my space coffee yet.

Ok uh, you got an honest face.

Why don't you go first Evil Man.

- Oh! It's evilman your honor. - Cool!

but let me start today by saying

what a wonderful idea the Thea Project is.

I mean, giving people the ability to start fresh

in a new world really is a step

in the right direction for the human evolution,

and even though I am running from nothing,

I would love the chance to wipe away

any little "misdeeds" that may have occurred,

but of course totally didn't.

- Objection your honor.

While I acknowledge the importance of humanity

colonizing other worlds,

the clean slate aspect of this project

is just one giant ticking time bomb waiting to go off!

You're basically betting trillions of dollars

and the fate of humanity,

on a bunch of suspect individuals.

For example, I present exhibit A, Mr. Kenzaki.

(wheels squeak)

(hologram powers on)

Shun Kenzaki is a prominent member of the Yakuza.

Who, as you can see from this well shot montage,

has committed some murders.

Many murders, too many murders,

Yet, he is one of the many people given a clean slate

as part of the Thea Project.

Now I know that his past crimes have been wiped away

but, what's going to stop him

from repeating his violent tendencies

as soon as he gets to the new colony?

I mean come on, you're sending a murderer into space,

where there's even LESS oversight than on Earth!

- You know, you're absolutely right.

That montage was well shot.

- Your honor, with all due, whatever,

what one man sees as a violent repeat offender,

others, like myself, see a resourceful individual

with a very specific skill set

that if given a clean slate,

could use such a skill set,

for the betterment of the colony.

Besides it's not like everyone onboard

is a criminal.

(nervous chuckle)

I mean, I'm sure not.

No, there's people from all walks of life,

many of whom are simply looking to shed the baggage

of the past and find new opportunities.

- Then why not send workers up with proper training?

That way if anything unforeseen goes wrong,

the people there are actually equip to deal with it.

I mean, how many times would the Enterprise

have been destroyed if they didn't have

it's highly trained crew aboard?

I've counted, your honor, 168,

and that's not counting the movies,

and definitely not including Star Trek Nemesis, obviously.

- Of course, that just makes since.

- Well I'm sorry but in this reality,

we don't have Starfleet's nearly unlimited resources.

And yes, I've seen the show,

and by the way, those Borg fellows

are really onto something.

The Thea Project's clean slate offer

is really cost effective for the Siren Corporation.

I mean, could you imagine the money it would take

to convince a professional with a steady job

and a family to leave everything behind

and live on a new planet?

It would get pretty costly pretty quick.

Plus, the clean slate also acts as an attractive incentive

to warm people up to the idea of leaving Earth behind.

Trust me, as a good person, I know a good opportunity

when I see one..

(bell)

- Look, I get that colonizing other planets

is wildly expensive.

Which is exactly why

it's not the sort of place to cut corners.

It's too important

and there's just too much at risk.

- Exactly! There is too much at risk

if we stay here on EARTH! Bing Switch!

You see there are simply too many people

consuming too many of Earth's finite set of resources.

We must embrace other worlds

or embrace our very extinction.

Sure, it would be nice if the best and brightest

among us would selflessly drop everything,

travel to Thea to help secure humanities future

but that just isn't going to happen.

Yes, the Thea Project isn't 100% perfect,

but it's a great compromise that takes into account

the cold hard practicalities of interstellar colonization,

while still offering people the ability

to start over in a new world,

where they can become the best versions of themselves,

free of all the pain and baggage of the past,

and if freeing yourself from your past isn't

the blueprints for a better and brighter future,

well then I don't know

what you can possibly - Freeze dirt-bag,

don't move a muscle.

- Dominic Evilman,

you're under arrest for murder,

grand theft, secretly running a criminal organization,

and stealing candy from a baby.

Space cuff him Danny.

- I don't understand.

I was so careful!

How could you possibly find me?

- There are cameras literally pointed at you right now.

- Come on Evilman, We're space police.

You don't think we have Space Court

on all the TV's down at the Space Station?

- Curse my vanity!

Oh mommy's gonna be so crossed with me.

- Yes she is.

(door slams)

- Well, that is a huge bummer for him,

because I was just about to rule in his favor.

- Aww you serious?

Anything I can do to change your mind?

You know I can draw surprisingly acuate

set of blueprints of the Enterprise D from memory,

would that, would that do anything?

- No, it does not.

- Yeah, it never does.

- I rule in favor of I rule in favor of Evilman.

The Thea Project will move forward as planned!

(gavel hits)

- My god, that was a landmark space case.

Well looks like Dan's coming out

of the courtroom right now.

Dan, how do you feel about the verdict?

Well, you know, to be honest,

I'm not super excited about losing,

but I got this cool gun,

and I'm cautiously optimistic that things

will work out for the people in the Thea Project.

I guess we won't know until November 14th,

when Origin premieres exclusively on Youtube Originals.

Make sure to follow the Origin Youtube channel,

to keep up on all

of the latest news and info about the show.

- We'll see you then, Dan.

Wow, hell of a court case and hell of a plug.

Francis, that's lunch.

(action music)
