first off some news for Xbox backwards-compatibility

that a new batch of original Xbox games will be available for Xbox

one including motocross racer MX unleashed and Star Wars Knights of the

Old Republic 2

in addition to this selected Xbox 360 games like

Sonic Generations and portal 2 are getting enhanced updates for Xbox one X

These have been rolling out throughout this month

and should all be available by the

end of April which is about now-ish,

Tim Schafer was awarded a BAFTA fellowship

at the British Academy games awards recently

Schafer is known for being a big part of leucocytes titles

such as Dave the tentacle and the Secret of Monkey Island

he also founded Double Fine games

and set up video game crowdfunding platform Fig

The award recognizes his decades of contributions

to the industry including bringing a

unique style of creativity and humor to games that will become classics

I'm sure he's feeling fine about the acknowledgment or even double fine

moving on and Moe yang has announced a date for this year's minecon earth

the interactive livestream for all things minecraft will take place online on

September 29th and will be the second year the event is fully digital

The livestream is set to feature game updates and gameplay plus panel discussions

and if you're the crafty sort you might like to create a costume

for the cosplay contest there'll be more details to come in the lead up to the

stream and you'll know exactly how long there is to go

with the countdown ticker on their website

So it won't creep up on you like a certain minecraft mob we know

Mitchell's high scores have been scrapped and he's been banned from being

part of competitive arcade gaming

Twin Galaxies the body responsible for

examining video game high scores found that Mitchell's famous Donkey Kong

scores could not have been achieved using original unmodified arcade hardware

let's just say he comes across as quite a character

This news follows another instance

of a record being invalidated from earlier this year

this was due in part to a new dispute

past the same system that led to this ruling about Mitchell scores

Mitchell responded with a statement saying that everything was done

partway through the chapter you can slip through some spikes to a secret room

Filled with a colorful cast of characters

these characters are from

other games made by Celeste developer Matt makes games

there's the smiley squaresishness of aggro from jumper

Nivola from sky torn captain Yuri from out there somewhere

and the blue and pink arches plus the eye bat from towerfall ascension

there's no special reward for finding the room

aside from the delight

of achievement itself

Ever since President Trump's latest spoken interview with the New York Times, there have

been lots of buzzes encircling the personal partnership among the POTUS and Attorney General

Sessions. Axios is revealing Leader Trump is actually discussing the possibility to

substitute AG Sessions with previous New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani.

President Trump is so disappointed with AG Jeff Sessions that he has expressed the likelihood

of returning Rudolph Giuliani to head the actual Justice Department, according to White

Several hours later, White House spokesperson Sarah Sanders told reporters that POTUS was

"unhappy with the A.G.'s choice to exclude himself, however clearly the President has

trust in him or he would certainly not be the A.G. "
