Waching daily Apr 30 2018

What's good, it's fevir.

Today we're going to go over the first official look - at the new combat system and gameplay

for Bless Online.

Combat is one of the systems they were looking to rebuild and restructure before they brought

the game to us and was their primary concern according to their Dev Talks.. and easily

is the thing the community has wanted to see the most from the rebuild.

So in total we got a gameplay video for the 5 classes that we can expect, I'll link to

them individually below- if you follow Bless Online apart from this upcoming launch then

hearing 5 classes might make you wonder what we aren't getting.. and it's the Mystic and

the Assassin that won't be available to us immediately.

This first class that you're seeing is the Berserker.. giant axe.. spin to win.. charged

based attacks.. now what I want to draw focus to here first .. is the stance system.

You'll see these two icons.. and they control the first 3 ability selections... and you

can swap between the stances... and that changes those 3 abilities.

Like a weapon swap in other games with a limited action set - it also puts the ability to swap

back on a 10 second timer.. and notice that the last 4 abilities... do not change.

I imagine that those last 4 skills can be selected from a much larger pool of other

skills - while the stance abilities are locked to the stance itself.. and based on what they've

said prior - there will be 6 stances in total .. of which you choose only two at one time.

Now the combo system .. this is where the bulk of the changes comes in.

The hotbar shrinks.. but the potential grows.

So the idea is that the 3 abilities in your stance.. web out into 6 other abilities.

So you'll notice here.. watching the Ranger .. anytime a stance ability goes on cooldown

- the combo interface pops up .. and the way this plays out through gameplay is you are

choosing one of those 3 options.. hopefully based on your situation and needs.. and once

you make a choice.. you then have another combo action, that appears alone.

To pull up a development based screenshot of the system .. it's all outlined and pretty

straight forward now that we can see it in action.

Again .. I imagine these stances and so the abilities within.. are all locked.. but there

will probably be some way to power up or augment their effects.

That was always a cool part of Bless from other regions.

You'll see the chain sometimes goes higher than 3 .. this looks to be just using another

main ability and going through it's combo before the timer gage expires .. I wonder

if there is some sort of mechanic for high chains increasing or affecting abilties in

some way.

I didn't see any of the 'reaction' abilities that the old combat system used.. and the

hotkeys for the combos took over the reaction ability's hotkeys - these were skills that

were only usable if a condition was met.. so say you just crit - boom this ability would

become available.

I can't say they are gone.. but it looks like it.

I also don't see the - ultimate skill... again, can't say it's gone, looks like it though.

Just looking at the gameplay.. it's still tab target - with a few skills that are freeform...

just as it was before.

Instead the revamp looks to almost take some elements of the contextual inputs of Blade

and Soul and flow of Guild Wars 2.. where you have a lot more options at any given time

and some freedom of choice... what will make it or break it for me is how the skills are

built out to prevent those choices being made for you.. because if this ends up being a

choregraphed DPS rotation and your choices are between aoe, single target and ranged

damage it'll be meh.

HOWEVER there is a lot of room for cool connections to class specific mechanics - so for instance

the mage has gages that fill based on what element the abilities they're casting are

- that they can use to fuel more powerful skills so choosing stances to stack one fast

or focus on 2 or whatever.. could be really interesting depending on what skills are tied

to it.. maybe it's one of those general, shared skills that are the spenders.

Obviously some min/maxers will drain the fun out and tell us what is good or not.. but

for PvP it could potentially open up more than just one playstyle to rule them all.

Weaving in some of my mages gameplay from Japan.. on the surface it's not as large of

a change as I've seen people wish for.

Most of the fundamentals are the same and especially in the case of DPS - a structure

like this doesn't actually change much in how and when you push buttons.. but I think

this could play out really cool for Tanks and Healers.

Kind of like that old Dark Knights in FFXIV before they ruined the class last expansion

- these roles tend to work better with a toolbox that's used situationally that helps make

their jobs more interesting.

Especially the Paladin.. it's probably the first time in an MMORPG that I might roll

a healer .. the very tame aesthetic helps there.

Overall it's what I expected.

It's less abilities than I would like access to .. but because it's more keypresses it

could end up feeling good.. the worst part for me is the interface and hud - I was really

hoping.. and still hoping.. it could change still - that they would do something to make

it prettier.

But that's going to be it for me - now that I've seen the combat - I feel a bit more comfortable

showing some more Bless from the japanese server because it's not really that large

of a departure.. especially on a mage.

So cool.

What exactly are your thoughts now that you've seen the combat gameplay .. and are those

thoughts coming from someone who has played it on other servers before.

That's going to do it for me, until next time.

This is Fevir.

Desk Ergonomics for Office Workers - Duration: 3:32.

Hi!

My name is Anna Hinman and I am a Physical Therapist at Cioffredi & Associates Physical

Therapy.

I'm also a certified ergonomic specialist.

I'm here to talk to you today about how to properly setup your desk to avoid injury from

sitting all day.

Here we have your typical desk setup.

The first thing to think about is that the goal is to have 90 degrees angles at your

elbows, hips, and knees.

Having an adjustable chair is the best way to make this happen.

Most times, you can't adjust the height of the desk so start by making your elbows at

90 degrees and your wrists flat.

Your feet don't always have to touch the floor because we can add a foot wrest.

Once you have your chair set up, you can look at your positioning to the computer monitor

and the keyboard and mouse.

As I said earlier, you want your wrists to be as straight as you can get them.

The best way to do this is by having a chair with arm wrests on it.

Unless you have nerve issues like carpal tunnel or cubital tunnel syndrome, armrests are a

good thing because they help support the weight of your arms throughout the day.

Without arm rests, your neck and upper trap muscles have to work hard all day keeping

your arms supported.

Having your armrest higher than the desk allows you to keep your forearms and wrists straight

while your hands are on the keyboard.

If you can't do this, then having a keyboard tray to lower the keyboard under the desk

may be an option.

The third option is to get a wrist rest which raises the height of the desk just for your

wrists.

This is my least favorite option because of the pressure it puts on the wrist.

Any of these options work to get you in the right position.

It is then personal preference and what you feel works best for you.

If we set you up with something you don't like, you'll never use it.

The computer monitor should be no more than arm's length away.

Your eyes should be at the top third of the screen.

You can raise the computer by buying risers but you can also use something as easy as

a ream of paper.

Be sure that your computer monitor is centered to your body.

if you have dual monitors, you should have the center of the two monitors directly in

front of you so that you can see both screens without moving your head.

If you use your phone regularly, you want it close enough and within arm's reach so

that you don't have to turn or torque your body.

Tilting your head to hold the phone to your shoulder can create significant neck injuries.

A headset is very helpful for anyone who is on the phone regularly throughout the day.

You want to set your desk up using the perimeter system.

Keep all things you use regularly within arm's reach of your chair.

Things you only use once per day or a few times a week should be placed close to your

desk but you may have to wheel your chair to get them.

The things you rarely use should be placed away from your desk where you have to get

up and get them.

Now, I can set you up as good as it should be, but if you sit all day, you're still going

to have problems and have to come see us anyway.

We're just not meant to sit for long periods of time.

Our body adapts to the positions that we're in and it is proven that we can only sit for

about 20-30 minutes in good posture before we start to slouch.

So set a timer and when that timer goes off in 30 minutes, stand up, sit down, reset your

posture, or do some stretches or exercises.

We will have some videos to follow of exercises that can be done easily at your desk.

Until then, we have some examples at our website: www.cioffredi.com.

Thanks for watching!

Life Lessons From Video Games - FFXV - Grinding for Experience - Duration: 12:30.

Greetings Users and Programs!

This is Etari L1v1ngSacr1f1ce and today we are going to talk about how hard work and

effort beats talent everyday.

Let me just say this as we start out...

I love Final Fantasy.

I've played every single one of them all the way through except for the MMO ones at LEAST

once since the first one all those years ago.

It might very well be my favorite series of all time.

Some of the most important lessons I've learned in life came from Final Fantasy and other

RPG type games like World of Warcraft, Dragon Age and Elder Scrolls type games and I'm going

to share one of my favorite lessons with you today.

We see talented people everywhere all the time.

Have you ever though to yourself that person is so talented... how come they aren't further

along yet?

How come they aren't more successful?

How come some of these other people that AREN'T as talented as them are making more money,

have more followers or whatever the scale we are using to gauge their success is?

The fact is Talent is Never enough.

For example I know some people that are amazing at doing impressions and making up character

voices.

We think WOW they should become voice actors right?!

So we tell them DUDE you should totally become a voice actor you have such a knack for that

why don't you DO something with it?!

Well if they don't pursue a career in voice acting than making jokes with their group

of buddies will get them a lot of laughs...

They just won't ever make a living from it.

For whatever reason so many people hide their gifts from the world.

Maybe its fear... the thought of someone making fun of them or telling them they are stupid

for pursuing something outside the normal 8-5 job...

Who knows...

We will cover that topic on another day.

The fact is just because we are talented at something if we just keep it to ourselves

it will start and end with us.

If we don't play the game we have no chance of beating it.

Now someone out there is saying you don't seem to understand Etari I don't HAVE any

talent...

I'm not really good at anything...

Or I'm a jack of all trades but an expert at none is a phrase I hear a lot...

How does someone like me become successful?

That's a bunch of crap...

You ARE talented.

Everyone has talent.

You are comparing yourself to people that have either been pursuing something for years

or are trying to be something you aren't...

There are very few things that people need to be born with in order to excel at it.

Like if you aren't at least 6 foot plus tall it would be extra challenging to be a pro

basketball player or having a voice that was made for singing.

I'm not saying it can't happen you are just stacking the deck against yourself.

Also you don't have to be the BEST in the world at something in order to have a certain

degree of success.

Just look at Muggsy Bogues or Bob Dylan.

Bob Dylan will never be called the greatest singer of all time but man did he write some

good songs!

The first thing you need to do is PICK something you want to focus on.

The reason you aren't any good at anything is you haven't picked your specialty yet.

You have to pick your role in life...

Do you wanna be a healer?

Fighter?

Support?

When you are playing a game like Final Fantasy the characters are already created for you

and they already have an affinity towards a certain skill tree.

Once you've picked the role you want to play start putting your experience points into

the skill tree that will help you become better at that role!

After a time next thing you know you will have more success at the very thing that the

other person you thought was better... and technically IS BETTER than you but they NEVER

DID ANYTHING WITH IT!

NOW... on to the heart of todays lesson

Have you ever wanted to accomplish something BIG but you just feel like its SO BIG that

there is no way you could handle it and the thought of getting there is overwhelming?

Well you are probably right.

You WOULD be overwhelmed if you went straight into the end game of that dream TODAY.

That would be like trying to beat the last boss in any final fantasy game at level one.

We would get wiped out in moments.

No matter how many times we tried to beat that level 60 or 90 monster with our level

one experience it ain't gonna happen.

We NEED that experience.

Jack Septic Eye was on a talk show a while back called the LATE LATE Show and he did

an AMAZING job!

For those of you that don't know who JackSepticEye is he is one of the most popular Youtubers/Let's

Play Youtubers and I have just recently learned about him because I had never watched Lets

Play videos until I started doing these types of videos and making my own let's play videos

some some of my buddies said Hey you should check out this guy JackSepticEye.

He is one of the more popular ones and you should copy what he does and learn what he

does that makes him successful.

It was his first talk show appearance that I know of and he handled it so well that a

lot of people probably think "oh he was born like this or he was born for this".

Go back and watch some of his super early stuff on youtube.

It was ok.

Not bad.

Just not great.

He was a little awkward.

He tried to change his accent so he wouldn't sound Irish which made him second guess almost

everything he said.

Just like everyone else starting out he had to find himself and grow into the type of

person that he wanted to be.

If he had of gone onto the talk show when he first started without all the experience

of doing his live streams he probably would have absolutely bombed.

If you asked him if he would have been able to do the talk show as well as he did 6 months

or even 2 years into his career what do you think he would say?

He isn't the same person today that he was back then because of all the EXPERIENCES he's

had that he's grown from.

There is no shortcut to success.

There is no getting around grinding for experience.

You have to play the game and you have to play it yourself.

Most of us have dreamed of becoming rich and sometimes we think taking a short cut to getting

rich like winning the lottery would be AWESOME!

Have you ever heard the statistic that about 70% of lottery winners end up in worse financial

shape AFTER they won the lottery than they were before they had won all that money and

end up declaring bankruptcy within 5 years of winning?

How is it possible you ask?!

Well winning the lottery is like paying someone else to play the game for you to level up

and then when you try playing you have no idea what all the spells and special moves

are so you still die when you go up against that boss or take part in a raid.

When these people win all that money they don't know how to handle it because they never

gained the experience of HOW to handle money.

"Just because they now have a significant amount of money doesn't mean that they automatically

become a sophisticated investor."

They got handed a big sum of money but they never learned how to play the game.

If you are starting your first band and you have been playing your instrument for like

a year and your band tried to play in front of a couple THOUSAND people MOST of us would

choke and be so nervous that we would be booed off the stage!

I remember seeing an interview with I want to say one of the guys from Guns and Roses

and the interviewer asked him how does he explain his bands overnight success.

His response was hilarious.

He said something like "Overnight success my ass!

We've been sleeping on floors for 7 years playing in every dump of a bar across the

country before we got to this point!"

In the book Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell he talks about how the Beatles played EIGHT HOUR

gigs SEVEN NIGHT a week for 270 days a year for YEARS before they had their debut on the

Ed Sullivan Show.

They all grinded for that experience so when that opportunity came along they were READY

for it!

Preparation PLUS Opportunity equals success

I remember when I was really young playing the very first Final Fantasy and I ran up

against a boss that I couldn't beat at the time.

I tried multiple times and just couldn't beat him.

I was young and this was my first time playing an RPG in the first place so I had no strategy

to speak of...

And I remember realizing...

Wait...

What if I'm just not strong enough yet?

What if I go back into the world and gain some more experience points and level up some

more?

Well guess what...

After gaining a couple more levels handling that boss was easy.

Even though I wasn't very good at the game all I had to do was GRIND for experience and

nest thing you know I was a badass!

The key point I hope you are getting from this is that even if you aren't the best at

something if you do it MORE and learn how to get better along the way eventually you

will pass a LOT of the "talented" people (do you hear my air quotations) that want things

to just come to them and never pursue their dream!

Persistence and stick toittiveness are talents as well and they ARE learnable skills.

Listen...

We are all gonna do something with our lives...

Even if its NOTHING...

NOTHING is still something!

Jim Carey said "So many of us chose our path out of fear

disguised as practicality.

My father could have been a great comedian, but he didn't believe that was possible for

him.

So, he made a conservative choice and instead he got a job as an accountant.

When I was 12 years old, he was let go from that safe job.

Our family had to do whatever we could to survive.

I learned many great lessons from my father, not the least of which is that you can fail

at what you don't want, so you might as well take a chance on doing what you love."

We are all gonna have to grind at something in life anyways... so we might as well grind

For those of you that would like to pursue this path a little deeper I would recommend

three books

The first would be Outliers by Malcom Gladwell, The second would be The Talent Code by Daniel

Coyle and the third would be Talent is never enough By John Maxwell and I recommend reading

them in that order and I'll have some links in the description.
