Paul Ryan Is Resigning – His Replacement Is….

BREAKING: A top Republican just spoke out to say that House Majority Leader Paul Ryan

will soon be resigning, and his replacement may surprise you.The Reno Gazette Journal

reported that Nevada's 2nd U.S. House District Rep. Mark Amodei, R-Carson City, said that

he has heard rumors that Ryan is about to resign.

"The rumor mill is that Paul Ryan is getting ready to resign in the next 30 to 60 days

and that Steve Scalise will be the new Speaker," Amodei said.

"Now that is interesting because nobody has talked to members (of the U.S. House)

on how they are going to vote (on new leadership).

Now, maybe they have talked to all of the members but me.

I don't know, so that is the rumor mill from last week."

Scalise, who is currently the House majority whip, was shot in June of last year while

practicing for a congressional baseball game.

He returned to Congress in September despite being in critical condition right after the

shooting.

This isn't the first time rumors have swirled that Ryan was about to resign, as back in

December, he said that he was doing some "soul searching" about his leadership role in

the U.S. House.

He later denied that he was considering resigning, however.

When asked why Ryan would choose to resign right now, Amodei said that maybe he has accomplished

what he set out to do as the U.S. House leader and may want to move on to other challenges.

"I don't know.

If I was just guessing, he wanted to do the tax-cut bill," Amodei said, referring to

the passage in Congress of major tax cuts late last year.

"You know, (former Speaker) John Boehner said the thing: 'Hey, I checked all of the

boxes I thought were important and I'm moving on to whatever else.'"

What do you think about this?

Demi Lovato Debuts Stylish New Bob Hairstyle – But Is It For Real? - Duration: 2:56.

Pop princess Demi Lovato debuted a gorgeous new bob haircut over the weekend but it may

have been an April fools.

The pop princess unveiled her dramatic new look on her Instagram stories, posting a video

of her with her raven black locks chopped into a dramatic asymmetric bob style.

She's seen playing with the ends and turning her head from side to side, trying out selfie

angles.

Her hairdresser Cesar DeLeon Ramirez also posted a boomerang video to his own account,

along with the caption "New Hair New D...".

The 25-year-old teamed the look with a dramatic smokey eye, statement brows and glossy nude

lips, and wore an elegant beige jacket and silver hoop earrings.

However, her new look may not be as permanent as it appears, because Cesar told Refinery29

that the haircut is, in fact, a very clever wig.

He said: "We'd been toying with the idea of cutting her hair into a short bob, but since

we've been in the process of growing her hair out, we were a bit hesitant.

Since Demi has been on tour, it was the perfect opportunity to give her hair a rest from extensions

and the everyday stresses of hot tools."

He then went on to explain that he'd made a selection of wigs for his own brand, Wildform,

for the tour, adding: "I also made her a short wig to play with whenever she has the urge

to go short.

I always suggest this as a solution for anyone wanting a short cut, but isn t ready to commit

just yet.

Trying a style out with a wig first will let you feel it out before taking the plunge,

and it can also be a daily alternative."

And the secret to a realistic-looking wig is, according to Cesar, to have it trimmed

into shape while on your head, which is how he created Demi s look.

Earlier this year the singer, who has been praised for her work raising awareness of

mental health issues, offered free therapy sessions for fans attending her US tour.

Demi, who has been open about her own bipolar disorder, said she wants to "take away the

stigma of mental illness" as she revealed that fans with tickets to her live shows would

be able to sign up to therapy sessions and listen to speakers discussing mental health.

Judgment Is a Hall of Mirrors - Duration: 5:15.

Hi, It's Beth with a Little Bit of Beth for you. And today we're going to talk

about judgment and how judgment can be positive or negative, but it's always a

Hall of Mirrors. Remember when you were a kid and you -- or maybe an adult -- and you,

went to a carnival or a fair, and they had a funhouse and there were those

mirrors? And you'd stand in front of it, then there'd be a mirror, and then a

mirror behind the mirror, and a mirror behind the mirror, and a mirror behind the mirror?

Well, that's the way judgment works. I always tell this story in my

trainings and the Navigating Challenging Dialogue workshop when we get to the

point where we talk about judgment and how we judge others: I was in the

airport in Phoenix one time -- I have spent so much time in the Phoenix Airport -- but

I was at my gate, and I was waiting for my flight, and this woman was on her cell

phone. And she was talking to all of her siblings, and she was saying, "Hey, I have a

question for you. You know when Grandma and Grandpa gave money to all the kids

with graduation? Well, this year Charlie (or whatever his name was) is gonna

graduate and Grandma and Grandpa are gone, and I want to give him the exact

same amount of money that they gave the other kids. So how much did they give to your kids?

And you know the person couldn't remember, or whatever, and so she

hung up, and she'd call someone else, "Hey..." Well, that's all I could hear.

It was really noisy at the gate to get on the flight and everybody's

doing their thing -- they're on their phone, reading their book, taking a snooze -- but

not me! All I can hear is this woman making me crazy, like fingernails on the

chalkboard. So, I got up and moved. I went down to the next waiting area where I

could still see the board for my flight. Well, what do you think?

All I could hear was this woman. It was making me nuts.

I moved further away, but I still could hear. No one else was noticing her, it was me alone

that she was driving crazy. So, finally, we boarded the plane and

luckily I didn't hear her on the flight, but it wasn't too long after that I got home --

maybe a few days, maybe a week, I'm not sure -- but my two daughters, who I think at

the time were, like, 23 and 20, said to me, "You know what, Mom? We are two

individual grown people. We would love if for Christmas we could get our own

unique presents, non-identical presents. We think it's time that you don't have

to do that." Well, you know what I realized? I was judging that woman, not because she

was doing anything wrong. I was judging her because, within me, I have had this

thing about being so fair to my daughters, so equal, that I was not

even acknowledging who they were as individuals. Because being fair to them

made ME feel better. It wasn't doing anything for them.

That's what I learned, and I couldn't help but realize that my judgment of her was

trying to get me to understand something about myself. So, the next time the person

in the office is driving you crazy, the person in the line in the grocery store,

their behavior is making you nuts, or you see someone on TV and you're like this,

"I just can't stand the way they're behaving!" And you have a negative

judgment about them -- just pay attention. Notice if there's something in the

mirror coming back at you to tell you something about yourself that you're

just not quite comfortable with. Happens all the time. Happens in the

reverse, too. Sometimes, somebody comes in, walks into a room, exudes all the

confidence or is very charismatic for some reason that you don't quite

understand? Then they could be being a mirror for you, for something within

yourself that you either want to develop, aren't comfortable with, or haven't quite

even noticed yet. So, pay attention to the people that just kind of drive you crazy,

because they're a messenger. And our job is to not shoot the messenger. So there

you go, that's your little Bit of Beth for today.

if you want to hear more about this topic, or any of these kinds of topics,

just go to DynamicsOfSelf.com and sign up for my podcast or weekly email.

Hey, have a great day!

Africa Is Splitting In TWO - UPDATE - Duration: 2:31.

New evidence has surfaced that supports the claim that Africa is splitting into two parts.

Im going to tell you everything you need to know, here for you on IO.

Welcome back to inform overload, I'm charlotte dobre.

A large crack, that stretches several kilometers and visible from several kilometers up has

appeared in south western Kenya.

This is perhaps some of the best evidence that we have that Africa is actually splitting

in two.

A few million years from now, the east coast of Africa is going to break apart from the

rest of the continent, and parts of ethopia, Somalia, Kenya and Tanzania are going to become

an island.

You might think, yeah a few million years isn't a big deal, why should you care.

Well just because the east coast of Africa is going to become an island in a few million

years, that doesn't mean the effects of the crack are not going to be seen, especially

during rainfall.

Rainfall and flooding made this crack worse, because the water eroded a lot of it.

On top of that, seismic activity also caused the crack to appear.

Seismic activity is very hard to predict.

People are living around this area.

There are buildings, infrastructure, roads.

Eventually, the crack is going to allow the ocean to enter it, which is going to make

it even bigger.

Yeah, Africa is splitting at a rate of a few milimeters a year, but people are going to

have to relocate further away from where the fault line is.

So why is this happening?

Well as you know, the earth is ever changing.

It has changed a lot since the birth of our planet and continues to change.

This is because the earth's listhosphere, which is essentially the mantle and the earth's

crust, is broken up into several tectonic plates.

Africa is split by a rift called the east African rift.

A rift is where a tectonic plate ruptures, creating new plate boundaries.

The east African rift stretches 3 thousand kilometers from the gulf of aden to Zimbabwe.

Most recently, 50 foot deep, 66 wide crack in the rift valley in Kenya, broke apart a

highway.

Several families had to be evacuated from the area.

Again, it is going to take millions of years for the continent to break apart completely,

but that doesn't mean Africa isn't going to have to start preparing for that now.

What Sort of Name is That? "Instantaneous Velociraptor" - Duration: 7:10.

<Clap, clap clap clap

clap clap clap clap>

Hey guys!

Now, you may have noticed that for the past year, my channel has had a very,

unique name.

And while it's never been a question I've gotten in the comments section

I have had this conversation in person with people quite a few times.

Yeah, so I actually really enjoy making YouTube videos too!

Really? What's your channel?

"Instantaneous Velociraptor"

Oh, uh...

How do you spell that?

Yeah, it's just...

Actually, no, I'm not going to remember it... uh...

Yeah, no, it's okay, I can just send you a link or something...

And so people pass my channel by...

But most of you guys, my awesome subscribers, have stuck with me

this whole year through having my crazy, weird, different name.

And I figure I owe you the story of how that name came to be.

Our tale starts back in high school...

When I was hanging out with my best friend Kim at her house.

We were currently in physics together and learning about instantaneous velocity.

Which, besides being an important thing we needed to know for science class,

had a really cool ring to it.

And I think we ended up talking about it in conversation at some point.

Now somehow, this lead to me thinking about how

"velociraptor" and "velocity"

sound very much the same.

And of course, following the LOGIC of this,

I thought, "Wow! Instantaneous Velociraptor

is such a cool sounding combination! It's just like,

Poof! There's a velociraptor."

My brain continued, "Someone should make that a YouTube channel!

That's such a good YouTube channel name!"

And I thought this for a few reasons.

Probably the biggest reason would be,

it reminded me just, of all the cool

awesome, older screen names people used to come up with because

you can't just use your normal name or anything like that. That wasn't a thing people did.

(And even if you did, your name was taken, so it ended up having to be

"something something 1324"

Something like that.)

The second reason I thought it would be an awesome name for a YouTube channel

is because, something as random as Instantaneous Velociraptor

means that whoever is making the videos on that channel

will make random and awesome stuff.

Which, in my book, was a great thing for a YouTube channel!

And finally, I just thought it would be really funny if someone would

put together: "instantaneous velocity... instantaneous velociraptor...

<gasp!> oh I see the connection, that's kinda crazy,

That's different, that's random."

And I liked the thought of that.

Fast forward to last year when I finally destare....

uh. destarted.

I destarted.

Fast forward to last year when I finally decided I was going to

start a YouTube channel of my own.

Now when I was first starting my channel, I vehemently DID NOT WANT

to just use my name as my channel name.

When I was growing up watching YouTube, I witnessed the transition

between a lot of those cool, unique, random channel names

like nigahiga or meekakitty,

and then Google really pushing you to use your own name

as your channel name. Like,

that was the first thing they'd put up there, it would be like

"Use your name! It's easy. Just go with your name."

And as a kid, I despised that.

I was like, "You are taking away people's creativity,

you are not letting them use those random awesome names

that I grew up with and I love."

So I kinda had like,

a prejudice, built in I guess, against using my name.

So I didn't wanna do that.

And then I remembered that conversation from high school.

And I was like, "I wonder if anyone ever has

made a channel

called instantaneous velociraptor.

So I go on the computer,

I look it up,

No one has made a channel

called instantaneous velociraptor...

Now I had no other ideas!

So obviously, this was what I should name my channel.

I had no idea what sort of content I was going to enjoy making yet,

so a name that random,

and me having no idea what sort of content I was going to make,

so it was sure to be random,

seemed to fit together really well.

So it's what I went with, and I think it was pretty awesome.

And while it may not have been: Poof! Velociraptor.

It was very much, poof! Vlog.

Poof! Sketch.

Poof!

Random, cinematic, vlog... recounting,

of your day...

It was pretty random.

And I had a lot of fun figuring out what I really enjoy making.

And now you guys know how that channel name came to be.

Here's the thing though...

I'm figuring out more and more what sort of content it is

that I enjoy making.

And for this year, I'm really excited to make more vlogs with me

talking to a camera, dialoguing with you guys,

disscussing things I think are important, hearing your point of view on them.

And then I also want to do more with music. I want to learn my mandolin better.

I want to cover more songs, I really want to write original songs of my own.

And the name Instantaneous Velociraptor doesn't really reflect

the sort of content I want to be making this year.

Something more personal,

like, MY NAME,

actually reflects that sort of content a lot better.

So, in the near future I'm actually going to be changing my channel name

to HeatherBrookeiv

Heather Brooke is my first and middle name

so it's very personal it means, ME.

So my thoughts, like in vlogs and my talent,

like in the music I'm going to make.

I shouldn't be so uncomfortable in saying, like, that I have talent.

But when you know that you're not that great at an instrument yet,

you just want to be like, "No, no, I don't have talent."

But everyone has some sort of talent, and you've gotta be gracious with yourself.

But anyway, the name HeatherBrookeiv actually represents that content

in a much bigger way than Instantaneous Velociraptor does.

And having that iv in there? I feel like

that's kinda cool! It's like we all remember

exactly where I came from, and that's a sly little reference to that.

Or something like that.

Plus, IV is also the Roman Numeral for 4, I was born in 1994

so that's kind of cool and personal as well.

Or it could be like, you know, a medical iv like,

you're just getting a straight up dose of Heather!

So you can take it all sorts of ways.

But I think it would be really cool having just you guys, my original subscribers

knowing like the full background of that,

and exactly where it came from.

Especially since you'd have been there with me through it.

And let me just thank you for being with me through this again. I LOVE

having the chance to entertain people.

I want to bring you joy, I want to talk with you, it just makes me really happy.

And sounds really cliche!

But it really, huh, it's true, I'm sorry,

I am a cliche happy person who loves making other people smile!

Okay?

That being said, if you guys could help me get to 100 subscribers

so I can be: youtube.com/heatherbrookeiv

instead of youtube.com/ randomly generated numbers and letters

that are not easy to share with family and friends,

I'd really love that. You guys are great.

So thank you guys for joining me for this story, announcement,

video today. I love you so much,

and I will see you soon!

(Love you!)
