Welcome back, today we are making very easy spider cupcakes for Halloween.
Don't forget to subscribe to this channel and let's get started !
First we are going to prepare the ganache frosting.
You will need to color the cream green, orange and purple.
Then melt the white chocolate and pour it equally in the 3 bowls of whipping cream.
Mix well and put in the fridge for a few hours to overnight so the ganache gets really cold.
Let's work on the cupcakes now.
In a big mixing bowl, add the sugar along with the softened butter, then add the salt and the vanilla extract and whisk.
Then add the eggs.
Then add the first half of the flour along with the baking powder and mix.
Then add the milk, the remaining flour and the sour cream.
And lastly add the melted dark chocolate and the cocoa powder and mix well.
We originally used these spider cupcake liners but even when adding an extra liner inside of them the cupcake batter is going to bleed through so we decided to just add the already baked cupcakes inside of the liners to keep the designs clear.
But if your cupcake liners have an aluminum inside you can go ahead and bake them normally.
Anyway, they will take around 15-20min to bake in a 180°C/350°F in a preheated oven.
Once the ganache is really cold you can start whipping it for a few minutes.
Please don't use small bowls like shown, the whisk was too strong and we ended up with a broken bowl and wasted ganache all over the floor…
Now let's make eyes for our spiders, we used a plastic sleeve with our spider design underneath, and we used the white chocolate to create the eye balls and a dark chocolate chip in the middle to make the pupil.
Then put them in the fridge to harden.
For the frosting, put side by side over some plastic wrap the different colored ganaches and roll to make a cylinder.
Snap the tip off and place in a pipping bag with a large round pipping tip and start decorating the cupcakes.
For the spiders bodies we used a black round candy (Dragibus) that we cut in half.
And for the legs we used spaghetti candies for a squiggly/ wavy leg effect.
And that's it, the spider cupcakes are done ! We hope you enjoyed this video, please tell us in the comments what you think of it.
