McEwen & Sons Grits | This is Alabama - Duration: 1:27.

Basically what I do with everything is I shoot from the hip ask questions later.

I knew nothing about making grits. Knew nothing about making cornmeal. I bought a

mill and then started looking around finding somebody to help me set it up

help me setting and to teach me how. Frank Stitt at Highland's Bar and Grill called me back

said I like what you're doing. I like it because it's organic. I started selling him grits and I guess

you can cay the rest is history.

Basically it's word of mouth. I've never done any advertising. People are excited

about local food natural food more healthy food. I think that's helped out a lot.

But I ship over the Internet and I get literally calls from one end

of the country to the other. Maine to Seattle Washington and then there's a lot of

restaurants that will have our name on the menu and then that's where I get a lot

of business from cause our name will be on the menu and people will call and look it up.

I feel like I am producing a product that people enjoy. And it's fulfilling in that resp ect.
