China 'must be prepared' for North Korea WAR as Kim Jong-un faces military strike

Tensions have reached boiling on the Korean Peninsula after US President Donald Trump threatened to totally destroy North Korea.  His explosive comments came after the communist state tested a hydrogen bomb and launch several ballistic missiles over Japan.  Now Jia Qingguo, international relations professor at Peking University, said Beijing "must be prepared" for the event the crisis escalates into conflict.

China has been reluctant to work with the US and South Korea for fear of damaging relations with its ally North Korea.

But if the secretive states supreme leader Kim Jong-un is removed from power, Qingguo said all three nations should be ready to deal with the fallout.

His comments come after Kim revealed he is readying his army to annihilate the US with the toughest counter strike ever in history. . BE PREPARED: Academics have called on China to make plans for war in North Korea.

He said: "So far Beijing has resisted the idea for fear of upsetting and alienating Pyongyang. "But, given recent developments, Beijing may have no better choice than to start talking with Washington and Seoul.

"When war becomes a real possibility, China must be prepared." Writing for East Asia Forum magazine, Qingguo believes Kim will most likely be taken out with a US military strike.

Should this happen, he said four main issues needs to be addressed by China. These issues include North Korea's nuclear arsenal, refugees, social order, and regime change.

Sun Xingjie, a North Korea specialist at Jilin University, has also called for China to make preparations for the likelihood of war.

"Being well prepared on the border to deal with a possible nuclear or refugee crisis is a good idea," Sun said.

ICBM: North Korea launches an intercontinental ballistic missile. China is said to be inspecting troops along its eastern border with North Korea, suggesting it is already preparing for war, Xinhua reported.

But Xingjie said the prospect of war is unlikely as there has never been a conflict between two nuclear powered nations. Discussions about post-war North Korea are also taking place in Japan.

Yesterday Japan's Deputy Prime Minister said its forces may have to shoot refugees scrambling to escape North Korea.

Speaking in Utsunomiya, north of Tokyo, Aso questioned how police and the army might handle the problem if war broke out on the Korean Peninsula.

He said: "Can police handle them? Will the Self-Defense Forces be dispatched and shoot them down? Wed better think about it seriously." His shock comments come as tensions between North Korea and the US have ramped up to alarming levels.

Trump threatened to "totally destroy" the secretive state if forced to do so in his apocalyptic debut speech at the United Nations. In response, Kim vowed to "tame" Trump "with fire" in an unprecedented personal statement.

Laying Out Content Blocks for Better Communication - Duration: 3:02.

Welcome to the Design Bites Series for Easelly!

In this tutorial, we're going to talk about laying out content blocks for better communication.

Layout will play an important role in your infographic designs.

Layout refers to the way elements are arranged on a page

when it comes to the placement of text, images, and style.

You can use content blocks in your layout to draw your audience

into your content, story, and overall message.

Differentiating your content blocks by color is a great way to differentiate

between a headline, body copy, or even steps in a process.

If you have a lot of information to share, content blocks differentiated by color

can provide a logical flow to your content and clarify information for your reader.

Let's walk through how you can create content blocks differentiated by color in Easelly's design tool!

I'm going to start off with a clear canvas and I'm going to resize my canvas to

a standard Letter Sized document - 8.5in x 11in.

You can resize your canvas for your own needs.

You can leave your background white or you can change the color of your background to match your color scheme.

I'm going to work with an adjacent color scheme for demonstration purposes.

Adjacent color schemes (also known as analogous color schemes)

use colors that are next to each other on the color wheel.

Next, I'm going to select a rectangular shape and drag it onto my canvas.

I'll then need to resize the shape on my canvas.

I'm going to repeat this step a few times down my page and change the color of each block.

As a tip, use the clone button to recreate your shape

and then just change the color of the shape you cloned

and arrange it on your canvas.

You'll also want to decide if you want your blocks to bleed off your canvas

or if you want to leave a margin.

Another design choice to consider is if you want your blocks to touch

or if you want space in between.

Once you have your blocks in place,

you can lock them in place so they don't move

as you add other elements on your canvas.

You can always unlock and resize the blocks

once you start to work in your text and graphics.

I used actual "blocks" to create our content blocks

in our sample layout, but you can use any shape!

Try using circles, triangles, or squares or a combination of shapes.

They can also move from left to right instead of top to bottom.

The design choice is yours!

Airbnb taps Sarah Jessica Parker for its new local tours

Sex and the City glamorized New York for its legions of fans, and now Airbnb is hoping tap some of that chic appeal for its new line of local tours and experiences.

Airbnb is debuting the new service in New York City this week, with one listing promising an unforgettable shoe-shopping experience led by a New Yorker whose bio describes her as an actor, producer, businesswoman ... and a proud New Yorker: Sex and the City star Sarah Jessica Parker.

The idea of adding tours and experiences to Airbnb came from the sites network of hosts, Airbnb chief executive Brian Chesky told CBS This Morning.

Hosts began suggesting they could lead local tours or make dinner for guests, which he said is an indication of how locals want to connect with tourists and visitors.

They were offering their homes and they started saying wed like to offer more.

People said, We could give a tour of the city, or make them dinner, Chesky said. We had tens of thousands of people who came to us and applied.

With the tour hosted by Sarah Jessica Parker, each participant will get a pair of shoes from her SJP Collection at Bloomingdales, with a stop at the department stores Forty Carrots cafe for frozen yogurt before the guests head off to the ballet.

The listing for Parkers Oct. 6 experience will go live Tuesday morning, with four spaces bookable at $400 each, first come, first served.

The money will go to the New York City Ballet, where Parker is a board member.

Parker said in a phone interview with The Associated Press that she gave a lot of thought to making sure that her tour speaks to the very colorful identity that is New York.

We could have gone to MOMA or the Whitney or walked through Chinatown or certainly had a nice walk on the High Line or just strolled the streets of the East Village or Midtown East.

She decided on Bloomingdales because its an iconic destination where she hopes to be of service in helping her guests pick out the perfect footwear.

The ballet, she added, is one of the great cultural experiences anybody can have in New York, whether they live here or are visiting.

Parkers listing is one of several Airbnb social impact experiences being offered in New York by celebrities for charity.

Others include former NFL player Michael Strahan taking guests golfing at Chelsea Piers to benefit St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, and actor Ansel Elgort leading a visit to his Brooklyn neighborhood to benefit Americares hurricane relief efforts.

Airbnb has been offering experiences in other cities since November as part of a larger trips platform. Its now in 40 markets worldwide, including Barcelona, Havana and Tokyo.

A handful of New York experiences have been listed since March, all in Harlem, but the trips rollout this week will expand to 150 experiences citywide, from secrets of the subway to a walk through New Yorks tattoo history.

Prices for experiences in other markets range from under $10 to more than $100, depending on location and whats offered.

Hosts get 80 percent of the fee, Airbnb the rest, except for the social impact experiences, where 100 percent goes to charity.

Fans of the HBO series Sex and the City, which Parker starred in, still seek out places around New York where the show was filmed.

Theres so much of the city that I recall from the many years of shooting on the streets, Parker said.

Did she consider taking guests on her Airbnb tour to Magnolia Bakery in Greenwich Village, where a famous cupcake-eating scene was shot? You know what, she said with a laugh, it didnt even occur to me.

Airbnb is primarily known for vacation rentals around the world.

Officials in many cities have criticized the company, saying its short-term rentals are reducing long-term housing options for residents and forcing prices up.

THE stormclouds have all but cleared for Chelsea boss Antonio Conte after confirmation troublesome striker Diego Costa will re-join Atletico Madrid in January.

A brief 30-word statement from the Premier League champions confirmed a deal had been agreed for the wantaway forward to return to Spain.

Diego Costa finally bagged his move back to Atletico Madrid this month.

Antonio Conte still has the option to play Diego Costa until January.

Until then he is available to Conte.

But does the Italian need him?.

And, even if he does, should he think about using him? Our friends at Football Whispers weigh up that dilemma.

In the end, all parties are happy, as Costa gets to leave Chelsea and return to Atletico.

Conte gets shot of a player he long since decided to discard and Atleti coach Diego Simeone sees his squad boosted by the return of a hero for the second half of the season.

There was a sense of inevitability about the move.

Yet the future of the irritable striker has dominated the back pages throughout the summer and, in fact, since a high-profile bust-up with Conte in January.

Somehow Conte has held it all together in the nine months since, winning the Premier League title and reaching the FA Cup final while successfully reintegrating Costa into his side.

The former Juventus coach deserves a lot of credit for that.

In Italy he is known to be every bit as likely to fly off the handle as Costa.

But he has remained dignified and professional throughout the debacle.

However, the same cannot be said of Costa.

After being informed, by text, he was no longer part of the Chelsea coach's plans he took the summer off and partied in Brazil.

It was clear that, if he wasn't wanted at Stamford Bridge, Costa was going to make the most of being on de facto gardening leave for the remainder of his time with the club.

  Diego Costa arrives at Madrid to complete his transfer to Atletico from Chelsea.

Diego Costa is the latest in a long line of stars to wave goodbye to Chelsea.

One assumes he has now shown his face at Cobham or Stamford Bridge in order to complete the formalities on his Chelsea exit.

But, thanks to Atletico's refusal to meet the Premier League side's asking price sooner it has dragged on and Costa remains in limbo.

Not that there will be any tears spilt for him.

So what happens now? Conte would be well within his rights to banish the forward from Cobham and let him do as he pleases until the transfer window opens.

In fact, he could let him go ahead and train with Simeone's side in Spain.

Yet despite all the off-field antics Costa remains a fine striker.

  Alvaro Morata is now the leading man at Chelsea after a stunning start to the season.

There is no-one quite like him in the Premier League who can bully defences with his ability and tetchy nature.

After all, now his move away from Stamford Bridge is complete, perhaps he will fall in line and do as Conte asks.

Who are we kidding?.

Costa is defined by his ability to cause an argument in an empty room.

He plays on the edge and when it's for you he's unplayable.

But when that line is crossed he becomes a liability.

At this stage he owes nothing to Conte and Chelsea.

  Chelsea boss Antonio Conte laughs off Diego Costas suggestion that he is being treated like an animal.

His actions over the past few months have made it clear what he thinks – even if there is a school of thought to suggest he has been hard done by in the way he was dumped.

Above all, why would Conte risk it? The pressure he was reportedly under at the beginning of the season has lifted and the Blues are winning without last season's top scorer.

Alvaro Morata, Costa's replacement, has taken to the Premier League with ease and has scored three and assisted two.

Even his understudy, Michy Batshuayi, has hit the goal trail.

There is no longer a crisis at Stamford Bridge.

So why on Earth would Conte light the loose cannon in the corner?.

UWM's Center for Celtic Studies brings a bit o' joy to Milwaukee - Duration: 1:16.

I'm John Gleeson, founder and director emeritus of the Center for Celtic Studies

here at UWM. There's nothing in the Celtic world that goes on here in

which were not involved one way or another. We get phone calls.

Everything from recipes for soda bread, to an Irish name for my dog. Not only in

Milwaukee, but we get calls from around the country. An important part of our

program here is the study abroad program. The students, some of them may not have

even been out of Wisconsin. And UWM was the first university to get a

grant from the Irish government for the study of Irish language and culture. So

we were the pioneers — we set the ball rolling, if you like. And we're very lucky,

as I said, we get support from the local families who have children in the dance

schools or children who are musicians. If we didn't get the support that we do,

I would think that the center here, its days would be numbered. Milwaukee would

be a quieter and a sadder place without a functioning Celtic studies center.

do you have anything kind of coming up or any aspirations

that you want to realize that you haven't done yet?

- Does it seem unambitious to say I'm really happy doing what I'm doing?

- No, it's refreshing, and most people would say - and I would say -

it was insincere, but in your case I actually sort of believe it.

Well I just want to be able to keep doing it, and the biggest thrill about being

able to do something that you love to do is to do it with people

who are talented and people who you enjoy being around and enjoy working with.

You know when I stand in the middle of the large band,

we might play the same song that we played the night before,

but the approach to the song might be completely different on one night compared to another.

The solos - I've never asked the guys in the band to play solos note-for-note

that are on that are on a recording. I've always tried to give them some

creative leeway in a live performance to be able to have a little fun.

And to stand in the middle of the band, you know, you could hear musical conversations going on.

It delights me to no end just to hear how the guys are responding to each other

from one night to the next, and that's what I love about playing live

is because it really is - it's not just a reproduction of something you've done before.

It really is - music is alive, and it makes you feel alive.

When it makes us feel alive, when the audience feels alive

then it really makes us feel alive on stage.
