Welcome Zombeauties to my Makeup Tutorial!
I'm excited to show you my technique for getting the hot "newly dead" eye look.
You'll need a brush like this and your whatever eye palette you can find.
I'm also using some moisturizer before I begin the look. Moisture is key to getting the total newly dead look.
Everyone has been asking how I made this newly dead look seem so natural.
It seems complicated but its actually pretty simple.
You first want to put your hair back.
There's nothing worse than your hair getting clumped in your makeup.
Some of you may need more coverage, but my skin is pretty fantastic so I skip the foundation.
Anyways, let's continue with priming the look.
You first want to evaluate your problem areas, and do a bit of prep work.
My favorite tip is to just snip a bit of the hanging bits.
It's easy to do and all you need is a scissor, which are pretty easy to find lying around in hospitals, elementary schools, etc.
Be careful not to cut away too much.
If you see bone you might have cut too much.
It really helps to even out the skin texture and tone.
That looks great, starting to look less dead already.
Maybe a couple more snips up on my forehead.
Damn, I look SO alive!
Ok next
We MOISTURIZE!
I like to use a scented moisturizer as it can help cover up my more natural scents.
Gently dab.
(here I'm just dabbing on light moisturizer - be careful not to rub it in as it can loosen skin - then you're back at square one with the scissors!)
I really like how this moisturizer feels on my skin. Make sure you're using SPF as sunburn on dead skin is a recipe for disaster.
Don't forget your neck - it needs some moisture too.
(haha a piece of my dead flesh fell off while I was applying the moisturizer!)
I seriously haven't looked this newly dead in years.
(here I'm using Almay Highlighting duo. I really like this as it quickly allows me to highlight my best features...which draws attention away from the deader parts of my face)
Start by using the stick portion to draw a line down the bridge of whatever is left of your nose.
Then you want to highlight your cheek bones - this works on both dead skin and actual bone.
Don't forget about the chin - again, this can be applied to dead skin or to bone, it looks great either way.
Ok, we're done with the stick side. Now you want to open it up to the brush and liquid side.
I use the liquid highlighter around my eyes, which helps to reflect light into your dead eye sockets.
I'm adding quite a bit of this - I'm really impressed by how much light it brings into my eyes.
Now you want to gently pat it in with your best finger and help blend in the highlighting liquid.
I'm using an eye palette by Elf because good luck buying anything at Sephora.
(haha opening this thing was tougher than breaking into a brain cavity)
Success!
(haha I lost my new eye shadow brush! Turns out I left it in the other room.)
(so whatever, I'll just use this other brush)
While I'm blending this, let's talk a bit about the Sephora controversy.
I KNOW everyone has heard about this, but I'm still really pissed - and I know a lot of my Zombeauties are too.
Like seriously, coming out with an "urban decay" line? I know decay is a hot look this year, but some of us didn't choose this.
Not only are they stealing our look, but do we get any credit? NOPE.
So yeah, I'm pissed, which is why I'm boycotting them and refusing to buy or use any of their decay line.
What I'm doing is using the dark eye shadow as a dark highlight to accentuate the lighter highlight I used earlier.
You want to place this below your cheek bones and along the sides of your nose to really get that pop.
Now I'm going to do my eyes - this palette has four colors - the first is for a base, second for the lid, third for the crease and final for the line.
The darkest color is what i used to contour my face.
(I didn't find my eye brush so using the one they include in the set - sad)
Ugh, even dead people won't stop blowing up my phone...
You would think that was a perk of being undead, but nope.
I mean, I still have to work, cause my dumb alive self didn't plan for this - YOLO.
Seriously, plan for becoming unable to work, retirement and the possibility of becoming undead.
That could be anything really, zombie, vampire, werewolf, a Kardashian.
I'm applying a generous base and lid coat since it really does a nice job covering any imperfections.
Now I'm using the third shade to do my crease.
Finally I'm using the darkest shade to line around my eyes.
Dang, that looks really great. Shows you don't need to shell out big bucks on Sephora to get a freshly dead look.
Final step - mascara!
(Ughhh why are things so hard to open today? My hand skin is getting loose it seems.)
You can skip this if you'e lost all your eyelashes, or use a pencil to draw them in instead.
I'm using Physician's Formula as they were on sale.
(haha some of my eyelashes fell out applying the mascara but the look was worth it)
I try to dab more than glide as its less likely to result in eyelash loss.
Wow.
Now the same process for your other eye.
(At this point I can hardly believe I'm not alive)
Selphie time!
(These are going on my tinder profile, LOL)
So pretty and newly dead!
(ugh why did I try to open this thing again?? lol)
I like to finish with some bright powder on the lip - this is great if you've got the black lip or deteriorating lips as well. Remember to DAB!
Maybe one final brush to blend and voila!
Now that I'm looking hot, time to head out on my tinder date, think he'll be able to tell?
Love you all - thanks for watching!
