The massive gains in the GBTC (Grayscale Bitcoin Investment Trust) share value this year (508 percent) are not enough to get it through approval with the Security and Exchange Commission (SEC) for trade on the New York Stock Exchange's Arca exchange.

While regulations are fast moving toward Bitcoin acceptance, the current SEC climate is not ready. According to the fund managers:.

"Although digital currency market regulation continues to rapidly evolve, at this time Grayscale does not believe there have been enough regulatory developments to prompt the SEC to approve the application.

The move may be wise, given the current regulatory climate the SEC has instituted. Recent changes in leadership notwithstanding, the general SEC tone toward cryptocurrencies and ICOs has been cautious.

The withdrawal from the exchange identifies one of the major hurdles to acceptance of Bitcoin, namely the seemingly technical nature of the cryptocurrency.

GBTC has sought to bring Bitcoin into the mainstream by helping investors to purchase Bitcoin but through the vehicle of something far more familiar - stocks.

Currently, GBTC is traded 'over the counter' - an insider term for trading on less formal exchange platforms. Nevertheless, fund shares trade at a dramatic premium to the Bitcoin the fund actually holds.

GBTC closed at $739.50 per share yesterday, while each share holds approximately $375 in Bitcoin.

Regulations. Japan's burgeoning Bitcoin exchange scene will face constant surveillance from authorities when new legislation becomes effective Oct. In accordance with laws legalizing Bitcoin in April, Japanese exchanges must register with the country's Financial Services Authority (FSA) by the end of September.

Licensing new exchanges has picked up pace since news of the law surfaced, with over 50 licensees going through the pipeline, and 18 in the first month alone.

Now, however, authorities have reiterated the need for a controlled environment, local news media reporting exchanges could be subject to physical inspections "if necessary. Commenting to Japan Times, a spokesman for the FSA remained ambiguous as to the nature of the plans.

"We pursue both market fostering and regulation enforcement," he said. August meanwhile saw the FSA create a 30-member team tasked specifically with ensuring exchanges continue to abide by the new requirements after the deadline.

This will include, Japan Times reiterates, "checking whether virtual currency exchanges manage customer assets separately from their own assets and whether they have appropriate risk management measures, including how to respond to cyberattacks, in place.

The overall mood in Japan's 70 percent cash economy is changing rapidly, in digital currency's favor. This week, the country's banking sector announced plans for a potential national currency dubbed J-Coin, with an aim of replacing cash transactions as soon as 2020.

Adoption. Korea's second largest cryptocurrency exchange Korbit has sold to media giant NXC for up to $80 mln. NXC, which owns online games platform Nexon, has now confirmed the deal which local media previously reported on earlier this week.

"NXC has been reviewing and investing in startups with digital idea and technology and this investment was made with our positive view on the growth cryptocurrency industry," the company told TechCrunch Thursday.

Korbit was a first mover in an economy now representing one of the largest trading environments in the world for digital currency.

China's second exit from the market means Korea is poised for supremacy in online trading, its exchanges having a profound effect on the price of assets they choose to list.

The official weight thrown behind Kobit signals a turning point in the corporate legitimacy of the crypto exchange sector, which until now has benefitted more from investments than takeovers. NXC is acquiring 65 percent of Korbit, according to local news outlet Hankyung.

The future of trading in Korea could see the number two seed challenge the market dominance of Bithumb, the position of which has been marred this year by hacking. Before Bithumb's rise, Korbit represented South Korea's major exchange.

The Nasdaq and the Nordic corporate bank SEB have begun testing on a Blockchain technology-based trading platform for mutual funds. The goal of the platform is to make trading of funds faster, smoother and easier for all parties.

The platform intends to make it possible for all fund managers, distributors and other mutual fund participants to make trades directly onto the Blockchain technology ledger. This would increase efficiency, tracking and auditability.

The current Swedish mutual fund market does not have a centralized tracking mechanism in place (unlike equities markets), and so tracking and maintaining a ledger of transactions is a radically complex process involving a host of players.

Some portions are still recorded with pen and paper.

A Blockchain technology solution would radically alter the way the transactions would proceed, adding smoothness and speed to an otherwise relatively antiquated system. In a statement, Göran Fors, head of Investor Services at SEB, said:.

"With the help of a Blockchain, we can create a faster, simpler, more effective and reliable fund market.

Such market controls will only serve to increase the flexibility of the funds market in Sweden and will provide a "perfect use case for Blockchain," according to the head of product management and market technology at Nasdaq. As application grows, so will adoption.

'Teen Mom' Stars Chelsea Houska & Maci Bookout Slam Baby Daddies For Abusing Drugs

Chelsea Houska's baby daddy Adam Lind tested positive for meth earlier this year, but she isn't the only Teen Mom star who has a druggie for an ex.

In a bonus clip, Houska slams the father of her daughter Aubree to Teen Mom OG star Maci Bookout.

In a previous episode, Houska watched a clip where Bookout's baby daddy Ryan Edwards drove while high on Xanax. After the disturbing clip aired, he entered rehab for drug use.

"I've actually been wanting to reach out because I've been following the stuff online about Ryan going to rehab," Houska texted Bookout.

"I just thought it was crazy because that's exactly what I'm going through."

She then explained how she didn't have the same reaction as Bookout did regarding the situation.

"When I saw how she reacted to Ryan, she was really sad and crying and that made me feel guilty," she said. "Is it bad of me that I don't react that way?

When I saw that I was like, 'Damn she's a better person than me.' It's not like I wouldn't be sad for Aubree if something happened to him, I would be sad for her."

When Bookout texted back that it's been a rough road, she responded, "I just feel bad for Aubree, but we've been suspecting this for a long time so it's almost a relief so we could have proof and take precautions."

She then explained how Lind's drug use could affect their daughter.

"Aubree knows drugs are bad," she said. "You know it's bad, but your parents are doing it. As long as Aubree is not around that, that's my only concern."

Lind tested positive for meth in April after his second baby mama Taylor Halbur claimed he "engaged in drug usage of either steroids or methamphetamines."

"Plaintiff failed his third drug test and he tested positive for amphetamines and methamphetamines," the court papers obtained by Radar read.

"The methamphetamine result in his system was substantial and this was just over 24 hours before he was to have the parties' minor child."
