in this video I'm gonna answer the question whether a tired dog is really a

good dog or not hello lover my name is Saro I'm a dog trainer and I coach

dog owners if this is your first time here and you want to become an educated

miss anything so the question is if tired dog is a good dog the answer is

not necessarily a tired dog in my opinion is just a tired dog why is that

because a tired dog is so tired that doesn't learn what you're trying to

teach let's say your dog is misbehaving and you're trying to tire it out so it

doesn't misbehave your dog is so tired that doesn't have the energy to learn

what is supposed to learn let's say if your dog is barking at neighbors so you

go and exercise your dog or play over play with your dog to get your dog tired

so it stops barking at a neighbor the problem with approaching this matter

is that your dog is not learning that is not supposed to bark

it just doesn't learn anything it just gets tired if you want your dog to get

tired and learn something you need to focus on exercising your dog mentally

not physically focus on 70% mental exercise and 30% physical exercise so

you want to be mainly focusing on mental stimulation and when you are focusing on

mental simulation you're going to need to provide a decent amount of exercise

so let's say not more than 30 minutes of exercise this exercise could be walking

could be playing could be anything so after 30 minutes your dog is not

it still has some physical and mental ability available what you're going to

do after your dog has been exercised a little bit you can ask your dog for

example to stop barking but you have to teach your dog not to bark so you start

with exercise provide a decent amount of exercise and then train your dog don't

solve your dog's behavioral issue just by exercising exercising won't solve the

problem you can exercise and train your dog and you'll see a better result and

also if you over exercise your dog in order for it to get tired so you can

leave you alone then what's the point of having a dog around you don't want your

dog just to be sleeping all day long and the other thing is if you over

exercise a young dog a puppy or even a dog adult dog or especially an older

dog you will cause not only physical damage and injuries in your dog but also

you're going to cause mental issues to develop most of the behavioral issues

that have been developed in dogs is because they have either been over

exercised or under exercised but most of it is because they have been over exercised so

focus on exercise and train I hope that answers your question if a tired dog is
