Skam s4 clip 32 - The group for us that have been a target of online bullying - Duration: 7:43.

THE GROUP FOR US THAT HAVE BEEN A TARGET OF ONLINE BULLYING. Ingrid Theis Gaupseth started this group.

Ingrid: Hi, have made a groupchat for all of us that have been posted about on Instagram. I finally got a hold of Sara and she's of course devastated. She's gone to the cabin in Kragerø, won't come back to school until Monday. She wanted me to send this to you all:

Tell the girls that I never meant any harm with it, that I'm really fond of all. And if I ever wrote that shit it's a really long time ago and I didn't mean any of it. I don't know who did this to me, but I'm going to find out.

Sara is so devastated she had to drop the midterm exam today.

Iselin: Tell her it's fine, no one cares, everyone talks shit about everyone.

Sana: Poor thing.

Lea: No one deserves to have to go through something like that.

Ingrid: The real problem here is who actually did this to Sara and us. Sara have tried to find it in her chats, but haven't found it yet. She'll continue to look. Some of us know she's written those things to us. It tells us it's excerpts from different chats. Maybe someone has faceraped Sara.

Olivia: Excuse me...I remembered something... wasn't Vilde on Sara's Face last week? When she posted that picture??

Ingrid: Yes, god damnit!!

Lea: That's right!!

Sana: If the pictures have been taken by Sara's Face, wouldn't the chat bubbles be blue then?

Lea: And she said yesterday she thought Sara shouldn't be bus leader anymore!!? - Iselin: She can't be that stupid?

Ingrid: Yes she can actually! It must be her!? And she's always wanted to be bus leader herself!

Lea: And it says The one and only perfect bus leader on the insta account!! It said the same over the picture!! It means it must be someone that is in that group!!

Ingrid: AND: we threw her off the bus in 1st when she tried to coup being bus leader.

Iselin: It makes so much sense! - Hi Sana.

- Hi!

- Hi.

- I actually thought about...

sending you a message, a little while ago.

- Why didn't you send? Or what happened?

- I don't know... When I was going to, I kind of didn't really know what to say.

- But... I've heard you've started studying to become a nurse?

- Mhm.

- How is it?

- It's ok.

- You're still at Nissen right? - Mhm.

Yes. - Mhm.

- Which program subjects do you have? - I have biology, chemistry, math...

- What's the name of your teacher, that chemistry teacher...?

- Lars? - The tall one with brown hair right? - Yes?

- You've got him. - You had him too? - Mhm.

- Seriously? - Mhm.

- He used to always wear the same shirt.

A blue shirt. Is he still wearing it?

- Eh, yes.

Did he wear that when you were there too? - Yes. - All three years? - All three years.

- Yuck!

- He's special...

- Then it's not just me that thinks he's special.

- But you're fasting right?

- Mhm.

You as well? - Mhm. - Are you hungry?

- A little. - Yes. - Are you hungry?

- Yes, but...

It kind of gets easier every day as one gets used to it. - Yes, that's true.

- Maghrib comes in at... is it 22.25 today? - What did you say, 22...? - 22.25.

- And how many hours are there left? - It's just...

6 hours and 40 minutes left, just about.

- Still a long time till.

- It's sick funny. Even Elias knows when Maghrib comes in, nowadays.

- You know there are those kinds of people that...

They say: You can't sing, or dance, or listen to music when you're fasting.

- But some say you can't do that at all. - That's true.

- And then there is...

A lot of people that don't use makeup, when they fast.

- Yesterday, I was wearing makeup. And someone walked passed me and gave me some looks, I think perhaps because of the makeup.

- I've heard that someone walks around spitting all the time.

Because they think that one can't swallow ones own spit. - Oh yes.

- Because then you break the fasting.

- I actually have a girlfriend like that. - Is she walking around spitting all the time?

- If she's at school, she spit. If she's at work, she spit.

- Seriously? - Seriously.

She's got self confidence too. It's like... it's funny.

- But you're alright, right?

- Yes.

Image Descriptions: An Accessibility Tool For Blind People - Duration: 3:52.

(marker scratching)

(electronic video game chime)

Hello.

So let's talk image descriptions.

If you're one of those people that have

been scrolling down on Instagram,

sometimes Facebook, you might see a big old blob

of text underneath the caption, or beside of a caption.

That basically says what you already see.

And you might be thinking, okay, why are they telling

me stuff that I can already see?

And I have had comments on my own Instagram photos

going, Rikki, why do you have captions on your photos?

Image descriptions.

They're an accessibility tool for people who are blind,

slash, visually impaired.

So for example, my friends Molly, JD, James,

and Tommy are all blind and they benefit from these things.

So if I take a photo of myself in front of a tree,

and I'm wearing a full face of makeup,

or I'm holding a mug in my hand,

or I'm doing some weird pose,

it's nice to write down exactly

what it is that I'm doing in the video.

So they can kind of visualize it in their own head.

Which I know to some people, may sound strange

because, wait a second, blind people, they can't see.

How can they visualize it?

Again, for example, Molly, she used to be able to see,

and now she's blind.

She can still remember what things were like,

what things looked like before she became blind,

or became fully blind.

James still has some sight, so he would be able to make out

and visualize what it is

that I'm writing in the image description.

You can say the same thing about video descriptions.

So for example, when I'm doing a video in ASL,

I try to have a transcript from now on because

I'm also trying to be accessible to my blind friends.

Because I can't do voice overs,

voice overs and my ears don't really work,

together very well.

But I at least try to have a separate Google doc

or also write in the comments

what exactly it is that I'm saying.

And not only that, but also what I look like.

So for example, in one of my videos,

the #NoMoreVoicing, or the one about,

the signing community not being the only deaf community.

I wrote video description of, Rikki is sitting on her porch

wearing a Pokemon shirt, and some other stuff.

So they can get an idea of what is that I look like,

and you know how the setup is in the video.

And then of course the captions,

so that VoiceOver can read it to them.

Which is another thing people go wait,

how exactly are they suppose to know what the image

description is saying, because yo, they're blind.

VoiceOver.

I'm pretty sure that Molly, Burke and I talked about

this in one of our collabs, if I can remember

what that is, I will leave a link somewhere.

If I can't find that video, I know Molly has her own

video about technology and how she uses that

to navigate social media and stuff.

James and Tommy probably have that too.

And I'll take a look around on all their channels,

including JD's.

And, see if I can find any videos that will help you out.

Or I will just leave all of their channel links

down below so you can go check them out,

because if you want to know information about blind people,

it's great to go to the source, the real source.

So hopefully now you understand a little bit better

what image descriptions are, because, of course,

I didn't really know what they were in the beginning either.

But now once I've explained it to people,

they know what they are.

So the next time that you post a photo on Instagram,

Facebook, Twitter.

Twitter has their own little thing,

where you can upload a photo,

and then you put the image description down.

All you have to do is go to the accessibility section

in your iPhone.

I'm not sure what it is on Android,

or if Android has it.

And then you turn it on, and then it will show up on there.

So, remember, photos that go on social media,

try to remember to try it out.

You don't have to get everything down

to every single detail,

you don't need to get it down to a T.

But the main thing, you don't need to say,

oh by the way, there's that little squirrel

all the way back there.

When really you're just trying to show off

like this mug that you got.

Also, video description.

They're also cool.

I should probably do them more often in my speaking videos.

I'm learning myself.

If you want to follow me on all of my social media,

link to that will be down below.

If you want to help support my content,

you can do so by being a Patron on Patreon

or leave tips on ko-fi.

Both links will be down below.

I upload every Mondays, Thursdays and sometimes Saturdays.

And I will see you later, bye.

Zo In-seong, Song Joong-ki exists in Happy Together! For real? [Happy Together / 2017.06.01] - Duration: 11:56.

Joongki called.

- Hold on. / - Who is it?

- Let's talk later. / - This is crazy.

(Exclaiming)

(Someone is here.)

(It is...)

(This is the true reaction of celebrities.)

(This is the true reaction of writers.)

(The street in Gangnam is darkening.)

(Is the sky)

(also preparing to welcome him?)

(It's because soon,)

(it will be so bright.)

(A car stops in front of the cafe.)

(The silhouette of this man seems to be different.)

(Zo Insung)

(He is...)

(really...)

(heading towards us.)

(This scriptwriter enjoys the view on the stakeout.)

(He pulls everyone's attention towards him.)

(He takes big strides with his long legs.)

(Sometimes,)

(he is stealthy.)

(Finally,)

(he shows himself.)

(The MCs are on the phone.)

Who is that?

Let's talk later.

(Insung's identity is revealed.)

- Zo Insung! / - Zo Insung!

(Even the producer stands up to see him.)

(They can't believe their eyes.)

- Zo Insung! / - This is unbelievable.

My goodness.

Hello.

(Polite)

(He says hello to everyone as he enters.)

(He is a polite man.)

- Insung. / - Insung.

Thank you, Insung.

- I am sorry, Insung. / - I am really sorry.

I am sorry.

Hello.

Insung, come inside.

Bless you.

Insung, come inside.

- He really came. / - This is incredible.

That was fast.

He must have come right after he washed up.

- He arrived very quickly. / - I know.

- I am sorry. / - I am sorry, Insung.

You won't see Jaeseok from now on, right?

You are angry, right?

- He is very loyal. / - Seriously.

My goodness.

(The older members became a fan.)

- Come inside. / - Let's move over.

Hyunmoo, hurry up and bring it.

- Come on. / - Let's get him settled in.

- Here is a seat cushion. / - Hurry up.

- Here comes a towel. / - Insung.

It's a gift for you.

(What is this?)

- It's a towel for the 500th anniversary. / - A towel.

I am sorry that we didn't prepare something bigger.

You came right after washing your face.

- His skin is glowing. / - An unexpected guest

visited "I Miss You, My Friend" special.

(The 500th episode is full of surprises.)

(It's the epitome of a sudden development.)

He was among the top three stars people missed.

Zo Insung is here.

(We are happy that Insung is here.)

My goodness, Insung.

We called you out quite unexpectedly.

- Did you come here without a manager? / - Yes,

- You drove. / - Yes.

What were you doing?

I was watching "Infinite Challenge".

(He was watching "Infinite Challenge".)

- I am sorry. / - Thank you.

Thank you for watching "Infinite Challenge"

and starring in Happy Together.

Weren't you flustered when you received the call?

- Wasn't it an unknown number? / - It was.

It was an unknown number.

- Kwangsoo called me ahead of time. / - I see.

- He called you. / - Yes.

He told me that I will receive a call.

I didn't know the shoot was taking place.

You didn't know.

What were you planning to do today?

- If you hadn't come here... / - What time is it?

- It's 8 p.m. / - It's 8 p.m.

I would have probably started drinking soju by 9 p.m.

(He is cool no matter what he does.)

Did you come here for meat? We have Korean pork sets.

I will be thankful if you give it to me.

He is witty.

All right.

- Say hello to Hyeongyeong and Hyunmoo. / - Hello.

Hyeongyeong, why are you pretending to be pretty?

(Insung makes a pretty person act prettier.)

Didn't you regret your decision

on your way here?

No, I didn't. My schedule was free anyway.

- I am thankful. / - It's the 500th episode.

Since I enjoy watching Happy Together,

I wanted to congratulate everyone and say hello.

I came here with a light heart.

He is a good man.

He once joined the shoot of "Two Days and One Night"

when the production team asked.

He is very easygoing.

(He seemed to be unapproachable in dramas and movies.)

(No one expected him)

(to come at once.)

("Two Days and One Night", summer of 2014)

(Insung was the same back then.)

(He followed his heart.)

(He doesn't hesitate before making a decision.)

(He is a real man.)

We should recruit Insung suddenly for variety shows.

If we go through his manager,

- it will take ages. / - It won't work.

- The manager always refuses. / - It won't work.

Didn't you resent Kwangsoo?

- He was a bit worried. / - He gave us your number.

I resent Kwangsoo on a regular basis.

I didn't resent him for this occasion.

What kind of a friend is Kwangsoo to you?

- Well... / - Please be honest.

He is someone who video calls often after drinking.

I think he is quite lonely.

- I am sure you have gotten those calls. / - Yes.

It's not often, but he does call.

He requires a lot of work.

That's precise.

- He knows well. / - He requires a lot of work.

With whom were you planning to drink at 9 p.m.?

I would have called around and found out.

That mean you were planning to come to Gangnam anyway.

- I sometimes drink at home. / - I see.

Tell us whom you called.

Today? I hadn't called anyone.

There must have been a few people on your mind.

- I would have called Bae Seongwoo. / - I see.

What about actresses?

- I don't have their numbers. / - I see.

Excuse me.

I know you are excited, but please don't lean forward.

- It has been a while. / - I am fascinated.

- It's a new concept. / - Really?

It's a new concept.

- It's like a talk at the bar. / - It's novel.

What were you doing at home?

Since my mom wasn't home,

I had a meal by myself and did the dishes

before sitting down to watch "Infinite Challenge".

I think he came

because of Jaeseok.

I think it's Seokjin who helped him decide.

My phone call couldn't have been enough.

You wouldn't have come if I were the only one here.

- I would have come. / - Really?

- Really? / - My goodness.

I would have pondered on it.

(Even his honesty makes him handsome.)

I would have pondered on it a little bit.

Hyeongyeong, do you have a question for him?

- She is acting pretty. / - Why are you acting coy?

(Just the way he breathes makes me happy.)

- Hyeongyeong changed. / - Seriously.

The work environment changed dramatically.

(The previous work environment was bad.)

- Have we met before? / - No.

- We haven't met in passing. / - No, we haven't.

- I saw you often on TV. / - I see.

What was she like on TV?

I thought, "She is pretty."

I thought, "She is pretty."

Really?

- What did you think about her acting? / - She is good.

I watched her drama recently.

- Did you watch it? / - Yes.

- Really? / - She is a good actress.

What about you, Sooyong?

Insung and I don't know each other very well.

Anyone can see that.

Would you have come if I had called?

- Would you have come? / - My goodness.

- Insung. / - That's a ridiculous question.

I would have been very surprised.

That's right.

Would you have come if he had asked?

If he had asked,

I would have come despite the surprise.

(Touched)

You watch Happy Together often, right?

I loved the episode

about you and Yim Jaebeum.

(Why does he have to remember that episode?)

It was incredible.

Seokjin, Yongman, and I

will be joining the program.

This will be the new team.

The 500th episode is our beginning.

What do you think about that?

- Do you think it will be nice? / - What do you think?

(How does Insung predict the future of Big Mouth?)

I think it will be hard on Jaeseok.

Seriously.

(It's a refreshing comment.)

What a refreshing comment!

Professional relationships differ from personal ones.

We will have to create something new.

Yongman made a nice comeback

- in the entertainment business. / - That's right.

His travel program is going well.

You know a lot about variety programs.

Do you plan to join a variety program in the future?

I don't have the talent to be in one.

Any program you star in will be a hit.

I have a question.

How do you spend your day

when you don't have work? I am very curious.

When do you wake up? What do you eat?

- I wake up around 11 a.m. / - I see.

My parents live next door.

After I eat breakfast with them, it's time to work out.

I go to the gym.

Afterwards, I drop by at the office and discuss work.

When people gather,

we go out for a drink. Then the next day comes.

Are you friends with Song Joongki and Gong Yoo?

- I am close to Joongki. / - They are friends.

I haven't talked to Gong Yoo recently.

- You haven't talked to him recently. / - No.

Shall we call Song Joongki again?

Wouldn't he come if Insung calls?

That's cheating.

- That's cheating. / - I will call him again.

Let's quiet down.

- Please quiet down. / - Okay.

- Hello. / - Joongki.

- Hello. / - It's me, Seokjin. It has been a while.

Hello.

I'm with Jaeseok and I called because we miss you.

- Really? / - Jaeseok called earlier.

Joongki, it was me.

- I am sorry that I didn't answer. / - It's okay.

You are bound to be busy. You are a star.

Don't say that.

What have you been doing?

Where are you?

I am outside of Seoul.

You are outside of Seoul.

- What are you doing? / - What?

Jaeseok and I are having a chat.

- Really? / - Yes.

At where?

We are at a cafe in Gangnam.

You and Jaeseok are at a cafe.

- That's right. / - We are having a chat.

- I see. / - I miss you.

- I miss you, too. / - Seriously.

What about Kwangsoo?

- He is in Malaysia. / - He is in Malaysia.

- He is in Malaysia. / - I have a big surprise.

- We ran into Insung. / - You will be surprised.

- Wait a minute. / - Is Insung there, too?

Yes, Insung is here.

Hey.

- Hello. / - Hey.

- Hello, Insung. / - We ran into each other by chance.

Insung was at the cafe.

Why are you with Jaeseok?

Where are you?

- I'm near Gimpo. / - I see. Drop by if you have time.

(He makes a nonchalant remark.)

- Are you drinking? / - No, I came here for tea.

I saw them at the next table.

You are right. Jaeseok doesn't drink.

- That's right. / - That's right.

Wait.

Jaeseok, Seokjin, and Insung make a strange group.

(What kind of a union is this?)

This is an unfamiliar place,

but we happened to run into each other.

Insung, your voice is shaking.

(He prods carefully.)

He must be uncomfortable around us.

You should come and help him feel better.

You will understand when you come.

He used a voice that comes out when he is flustered.

It's strange, really. I was home earlier.

(Laughing)

Okay. I will call you back.

- Okay. / - Okay, Joongki.

- Okay. / - Thank you.

- Bye. / - Bye.

- All right. / - That was great.

READY FOR TAKEOFF. THE WHITE HOUSE HASN'T SHOWN ANY

SENSE OF DEPTH, ANY INTELLIGENCE AT ALL FROM THE VERY BEGINNING

OF THIS RUSSIAN PROCESS, BUT MUELLER TELLING COMEY HE'S,

LOOK INTO THE BACKGROUND OF THE INVESTIGATOR, THE ATTORNEY THAT

BOB MUE MUELLER HIRED YESTERDAY >> THERE'S NO GOOD NEWS FOR THE

WHITE HOUSE AT ALL WHENEVER THE WORD RUSSIA COMES UP.

COMEY'S TESTIMONY NEXT WEEK CERTAINLY WILL BE

MUCH-WATCHED TV, FACT-BASED. THERE WILL BE VERY FEW

ADJECTIVES. HE'S A VERY DIRECT GUY.

HE'S CLEARLY BEEN WAITING FOR THIS OPPORTUNITY.

AND THE IDEA THAT ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT RUSSIA ARE GOING TO A

DESIGNATED HITTER, LAWYER MARC KASOWITZ.

THAT'S PROBABLY THE BEST THE WHITE HOUSE CAN DO IN TERMS OF

DEFLECTING THE EVERYDAY NIAGARA OF STORIES ABOUT RUSSIA AND THE

TRUMP ADMINISTRATION. >> STEVE KORNACKI, THE HOUSE

THINGS LIKE THIS PUBLICLY THAT SHOWS THEM TAKING THE SIDE OF

RUSSIA? >> I'M THINKING BACK TO WHEN

A SCHOOL OF THO THOUGHT THAT TH WOULD BE GOOD NEWS, AT LEAST IN

THE SHORT TERM FOR THE TRUMP ADMINISTRATION BECAUSE IT WOULD

TAKE RUSSIA OUT OF THE NEWS, THE INVESTIGATION WOULD GO BEHIND

THE SCENES. GUESS WHAT?

WE CLEARLY HAVEN'T MOVED ON TO OTHER THINGS.

What's Up for June 2017 - Duration: 2:28.

[ ♪ ]

What's Up for June?

Plan a planet party and compare Saturn and Jupiter.

Hello and welcome! I'm Jane Houston Jones from

NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California.

Why not meet at midnight for a planet party,

when you'll be able to see both Saturn and Jupiter in the sky

at the same time?

The best time to try will be a few hours after

Saturn rises at sunset

and before Jupiter sets.

Jupiter sets at 3 a.m. at the beginning of June

and 1 a.m. by the end of the month.

To see cool details, you'll need a telescope.

Saturn reaches opposition on June 14

when Saturn, Earth and the Sun are all in a straight line

with Earth in the middle.

Opposition provides the best and closest views of Saturn

and several of its brightest moons.

If you just see one, that's Titan.

Titan is 50% larger than our own moon.

It orbits Saturn about every 16 Earth days.

Our moon takes 27.3 days to orbit Earth.

Through a telescope you'll be able to

compare the cloud bands on both Saturn and Jupiter.

Saturn's cloud bands are fainter than the bands of Jupiter.

On Saturn you'll see

delicate shades of cream and butterscotch,

while Jupiter's bands are shades of white, rust and ochre.

A telescope will also show

Saturn's rings tilted toward Earth about as wide as they get:

26.6 degrees.

The sunlight reflecting off the ring particles

makes the rings look even brighter.

You'll also have a ring-side view of the Cassini division,

discovered in 1675 by Giovanni Domenico Cassini,

namesake of NASA's Cassini spacecraft.

The spacecraft has been orbiting Saturn since 2004.

Cassini is on a trajectory that will eventually

plunge into Saturn's atmosphere

and end Cassini's mission on September 15, 2017.

NASA's Juno mission recently completed

its sixth Jupiter flyby.

Through binoculars Jupiter's four Galilean moons --

Io, Europa, Ganymede and Callisto -- are easy to see.

You can catch up on all of NASA's missions at

www.nasa.gov

That's all for this month. I'm Jane Houston Jones.

You Asked - Paying for college - Duration: 0:58.

I'm Casey Thomas, your Future Sun Devils correspondant

and you asked: How do I pay for college?

I have a scholarship, so I currently don't pay for college

so that's nice.

I'm actually on scholarship right now

so I payed a whopping $26 for tuition.

Grants, financial aid, scholarships, and loans.

Loans and also school grants.

I work, primarily on the weekends and stuff.

I'm in the WUE program, which gives me a great discount.

I like to say WOOIE.

I'm actually very lucky, my parents are paying.

My grandparents actually set up a college account for me

to pay for tuition and stuff.

My parents actually pay for college.

Oh man, we love our ASU parents!

Thanks mom and dad!

So, do you have any tips for how students should

afford their college education?

Definitely fill out the FAFSA.

Get your FAFSA in on time, definitely

before the priority deadline, because they do consider you first

and it's awesome.

Bobby Flay Makes Johnnycakes With Ricotta And Cherry Tomatoes For Summer | TODAY - Duration: 4:31.

>>> WE'RE BACK WITH TODAY FOOD. MORE COOKING OF A SPECIAL

TWO-COURSE SUMMER DINNER WITH OUR FRIEND, BOBBY FLAY.

WE SHOULD MENTION BOBBY'S HIT SHOW RETURNS ON SUNDAY.

GOOD MORNING, EXCITED ABOUT THE NEW SEASON?

>> YES, VERY MUCH SO. 9:00 ON THE FOOD NETWORK, 15th

SEASON. >> JOHNNY CAKES, WHICH I LIKE TO

CALL BOBBY CAKES. >> I LIKE THAT.

>> WHAT ARE THEY FOR THOSE WHO DON'T KNOW?

>> THEY ARE CORNMEAL PANCAKES. WE HAVE YELLOW CORNMEAL,

OBVIOUSLY FLOUR AND BAKING POWDER.

I'M GOING TO PUT FRESNO CHILIES ON TOP AND USE TOMATOES.

I LIKE THE IDEA OF FORCING SUMMER IN.

NOW, I THINK, WHEN I THINK OF SUMMER FOODS, I THINK OF CORN

AND TOMATOES FIRST. WHY NOT USE GROUND CORNMEAL TO

GET THE FLAVOR IN? AND IF YOU ARE GOING TO USE

TOMATOES IN JUNE, THE FIRST DAY OF JUNE, GO WITH THE SMALL

TOMATO. WE'LL TALK ABOUT THOSE LATER.

>> OKAY. START US OFF.

>> WE'RE GOING TO MAKE THE CORNMEAL PANCAKES FIRST.

START WITH THE DRY INGREDIENTS, CORNMEAL, FLOUR, BAKING POWDER,

BAKING SODA AND SALT. THEN I HAVE AN EGG HERE WITH EGG

WHITES.ES. AND WE'RE GOING TO MIX THIS

TOGETHER AND TAKE THE WET AND THEN FOLD IT INTO THE DRY.

OKAY? SO MILK AND THEN THE EGG AND THE

EGG WHITES. >> WAIT.

FOLD IN. SHOW US YOUR FOLDING TECHNIQUE.

>> SO YOU'RE GOING TO TAKE YOUR SPATULA.

AND AS I SLOWLY START TO -- >> HOW IS MY FOLDING?

>> PRETTY GOOD. YOU WANT TO BE MORE AGGRESSIVE,

JUST KIND OF LIKE THAT. JUST FOLD IT --

>> THAT'S WHAT MATT ALWAYS SAYS TO ME, BE MORE AGGRESSIVE.

FOLD. >> THEN WE HAVE THE JOHNNY

CAKES. THE THING ABOUT THE JOHNNY CAKES

IS THEY DON'T NEED TO BE PERFECT, OKAY?

IN TERMS OF SHAPE. IF YOU LOOK AT SOME OF THE ONES

I'VE MADE HERE, SOME OF THEM ARE CIRCULAR, SOME ARE OVAL AND SOME

HAVE SHAPE THAT IS DON'T HAVE A NAME.

IT DOESN'T MATTER. WE'LL PUT THE JOHNNY CAKES IN

HERE AND LET THEM COOK. I LIKE TO USE THE CAST IRON PAN

BECAUSE YOU GET THE CRUST ON THE OUTSIDE.

>> YOU HAVE A LITTLE OIL ON THE BOTTOM.

>> EXACTLY. TURN THESE OVER, PERFECT.

>> IS THERE ANYTHING ABOUT THIS TYPE OF PANCAKE?

>> THE CORNMEAL WILL GIVE IT A NICE CRUST AND CRUNCH WHILE

COOKING IT. YOU CAN SERVE THESE SAVORY, LIKE

WE'RE GOING TO DO TODAY, OR FOR BREAKFAST AS WELL, LIKE MAPLE

SYRUP, BUTTER AND SOME FOODS. >> CAN I JUST CHECK IN WITH TEAM

PANCAKE OVER HERE? >> IT IS LIKE A PANCAKE AND

CORNBREAD. >> THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT IT TASTES

LIKE. >> MY GRANDMA USED TO MAKE

THESE. >> OKAY.

>> IT'S ALL THE INGREDIENTS YOU HAVE IN YOUR PANTRY.

SO WE'LL TOP THESE QUICKLY WITH A LITTLE BIT OF TOMATOES AND

SHALLOTS. YOU CAN SEE, SAVANNAH, I'M USING

THE SMALLER TOMATO THAT IS ARE SWEETER IN THE OFFSEASON.

>> WE'RE NOT QUITE INTO TOMATO TIME YET.

>> NOT QUITE. SO FRESH BASIL, FRESH TOMATOES

AND SHALLOTS AND A LITTLE B BITF LEMON JUICE TO BRING OUT THE

FLAVOR. YOU WANT TO SEASON THAT WITH

SALT AND PEPPER? >> SURE.

>> THERE YOU GO. >> NICE.

>> AND A LITTLE BIT OF OLIVE OIL.

STIR THAT UP IF YOU WOULD LIKE. >> YEP.

>> AND THEN -- >> PORK CHOP.

>> THE PORK CHOP IS FOR LATER BUT THANKS FOR ASKING.

SO WE'RE GOING TO TAKE A LITTLE BIT OF RICOTTA CHEESE.

I FEEL LIKE RICOTTA CHEESE. >> YOU SOUND LIKE GIADA.

>> RICOTTA CHEESE IS SORT OF MAKING A COMEBACK.

YOU CAN SEE IT IN A LOT OF RESTAURANTS AND ON THE TABLE.

SO WE ARE GOING TO TAKE SOME RICOTTA CHEESE AND PUT IT ON TOP

OF THE PANCAKES. AND THE BEAUTIFUL TOMATO RELISH

THAT WE MADE AHEAD OF TIME. >> THAT'S GORGEOUS.

>> IT DOESN'T HAVE, AGAIN, DON'T MAKE IT PERFECT, JUST KIND OF

LET THEM GO AND CASCADE OFF THE JOHNNY CAKES.

>> IT LOOKS LIKE IT'S LIGHT EVEN THOUGH IT'S A PANCAKE.

>> IT'S FANTASTIC. >> IT GIVES YOU THAT SORT OF

SUMMER FEELING. >> DO EXPLAIN THE PORK CHOP, IS

THAT ON DOT COM? >> WE'RE GOING TO MAKE THAT

LATER. >> AS YOU EXPLAIN, HAND THAT

OVER. >> WE'LL HAVE THE PORK CHOP.

>> THIS IS PART ONE. YOU'RE GOING TO SHOW US THE PORK

CHOP LATER. >> THIS IS THE APPETIZER AND

THAT'S THE ENTREE LATER. >> WHEN ARE YOU ON, AT 10:00?

>> YEAH, 10:00. >> ALL RIGHT.

>> SO DON'T FILL UP. >> COME FOR THE JOHNNY CAKES,

STAY FOR THE PORK CHOP. IF YOU WANT THE RECIPES, GO TO

TODAY.COM/FOOD. AND AS WE MENTIONED, APPETIZER,

GOT TO HAVE AN ENTREE.

>> NEW YORK CITY YELLOW TAXI

CAB DRIVERS ARE UP IN ARMS

OVER THE PLUMMETING VALUE

OF THEIR MEDALLIONS. ONCE VALUED

IN THE MILLIONS, THESE LICENSES

TO OWN AND OPERATE YELLOW

CABS ARE GOING FOR A FRACTION OF

THE COST. ADVOCATES CLAIM

THAT'S BECAUSE OF

INCREASING COMPETITION FROM

SERVICES SUCH AS UBER AND LYFT.

THIS HAS LEFT MANY DRIVERS,

WHO RELY ON THE RESALE OF THEIR

MEDALLIONS AS A RETIREMENT FUND,

OF SORTS, IN A LURCH.

THEY ARE CALLING ON GOVERNOR

CUOMO AND THE TAXI AND LIMOUSINE

COMMISSION FOR ASSISTANCE.

I SAT DOWN WITH MEDALLION OWNER

MARCELINO HERVIAS AND NICOLE

EPSTEIN OF GOTHAM GOVERNMENT

REPRESENTS SOME OF THESE

TALKED ABOUT THE STRUGGLE MANY

IMMIGRANTS FACE WHEN BUYING

>> MARCELINO, YOU ARE AN OWNER.

HOW MUCH DID YOU PAY FOR IT?

>> WHEN I BOUGHT IT BACK IN

1990 I BOUGHT IT FOR $118-

$120,000.

NOW IT HAS LIKE ZERO, HAS

NO VALUE.

>> WHAT DO YOU MEAN IT HAS NO

VALUE?

>> IT HAS NO VALUE BASED ON

MELROSE CREDIT UNION REPRESENTS

US AND OTHER OWNERS. THEY

WANT YOUR WIFE AND KIDS TO

SIGN IN WITH IT AND REASON

WHY, THEY WANT TO COVER THEIR

LOANS.

>> AND SO WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO

DO?

>> WELL, THAT'S A QUESTION.

WHAT CAN WE DO?

THE TAXI COMMISSION IN THE CITY

LOOKS LIKE THEY -- THEY ARE

NOWHERE TO BE FOUND.

WE ARE ASKING FOR GOVERNOR CUOMO

TO STEP IN BECAUSE IT IS VERY

IMMINENT.

WE CAN'T BE SWAYED. BY THE

END OF THIS YEAR, THOUSANDS

OF US WILL BE DESTROYED.

AND I DON'T THINK IT IS RIGHT

THAT HARD WORKING IMMIGRANTS

WHO ARE PLAYING BY THE RULES.

BE ABANDONED AND BETRAYED

IN THIS WAY.

OUR AMERICAN DREAM.

I DON'T THINK IT IS RIGHT.

>> WHAT CAN BE DONE?

WHAT IS BEING PROPOSED?

>> THERE IS A LOT THAT CAN BE

DONE. BACK TO

YOUR QUESTION ON HOW

MUCH IS THE MEDALLION WORTH.

SO IN 2014, 2015 THE MEDALLION

WAS SELLING FOR APPROXIMATELY

$1.1 MILLION.

NOW THE REPORTED VALUE IS

$241,000.

WE ARE TALKING ABOUT SUBSTANTIAL

DECREASE.

SO NOW A BIG PART OF WHAT IS

HAPPENING IS THAT IT IS THAT THE

TLC IS NOT REGULATING FAIRLY.

SO YELLOW TAXI INDUSTRY WAS VERY

HEAVILY REGULATED.

AND THEN YOU HAVE COMPETITORS

LIKE UBER COMING INTO THE

MARKET, NO REGULATIONS

WHATSOEVER.

SO FOR EXAMPLE EVERY SINGLE

YELLOW TAXI RIDE OUT THERE THERE

IS A 50 CENT SURCHARGE THAT

GOES DIRECTLY TO THE MTA.

NOW UBER IS COMING IN AT 60,000

VEHICLES ON THE ROAD WHICH

IS CAUSING WORSE CONGESTION-

>> SO WHAT ARE YOU PROPOSING?

THAT MORE TAXI'S BE ADDED INTO

UBER?

>> EXACTLY.

>> THAT'S EXACTLY IT.

THINGS LIKE THE YELLOW TAXI

INDUSTRY PAYS 50 CENTS FOR

EVERY SINGLE RIDE TO THE MTA.

THEY PAY 30 CENTS EVERY

SINGLE RIDE TO

FUND WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBILITY.

AND THEN YOU HAVE THE YELLOW

TAXI INDUSTRY BEING ELIMINATED.

WHAT HAPPENED TO THE ACCESSIBLE

VEHICLES?

THERE ARE A LOT OF INEQUALITIES

GOING ON IN THIS INDUSTRY

OVERALL. THE TLC NEEDS TO STEP

UP AND TO TRY TO REGULATE THE

FAIR AND EVEN PLAYING FIELD.

>> ON YELLOW TAXI MEDALLIONS.

>> WHAT IS HAPPENING IS THAT THE

LENDERS ARE BASICALLY FORCING

MEDALLION OWNERS INTO

FORECLOSURE BECAUSE NOW THEY ARE

SAYING EVERY THREE YEARS THE

MEDALLION OWNERS HAVE TO

REFINANCE THEIR LOANS.

NOW THEY ARE SAYING YOU USED TO

PAY 4% INTEREST. EVEN IF YOU

WERE PAYING YOUR LOANS ON TIME,

NOW YOU ARE PAYING 8% INTEREST.

IF YOU CAN'T DO THAT YOU ARE

GOING TO SIGN YOUR HOUSE AS

COLLATERAL.

HAVE YOUR CHILDREN BE CO-

SIGNERS.

TAKE OUT LIFE INSURANCE.

SOMETHING NEEDS TO HAPPEN

BECAUSE THERE IS NO CASH FLOW

VALUE IN THE INDUSTRY SO THE

LOANS ARE MORE THAN WHAT THE

MEDALLIONS ARE WORTH.

>> I WANT TO ASK YOU, HOW MUCH

MONEY CAN YOU MAKE DRIVING A CAB

DAILY?

IS IT STILL A LUCRATIVE

PROFESSION?

>> IT'S NOT ANYMORE.

ACTUALLY, I MEAN-

>> GIVE US A SENSE OF HOW MUCH

USED TO MAKE A DAY WHEN STARTED

AND THEN NOW?

>> TWO YEARS AGO USED TO WORK

MONDAY ONLY AND FRIDAY ONLY.

I USED TO WORK BETWEEN 14 AND 15

HOURS, IN THOSE TWO DAYS.

AND I USED TO MAKE $500,

UP TO $600 DOLLARS.

THAT'S ON MONDAY AND FRIDAY.

ANY OTHER DAY AROUND $400.

RIGHT NOW FOR ME TO MAKE $400 A

DAY I GOT TO WORK THE NEXT 14,

15 HOURS STRAIGHT EVERY DAY,

SEVEN DAYS A WEEK ALSO.

IF I DON'T MAKE THAT MONEY I'M

UNDER WATER.

THE MINIMUM THAT WE HAVE TO

MAKE IS $400, PLUS

ALL THE EXPENSES WE HAVE

AND WE ARE NOT MAKING IT.

>> HAVE YOU THOUGHT ABOUT

JOINING THE COMPETITION?

>> WE CAN JOIN -- YOU CAN GO

ANYWHERE.

THE PROBLEM IS THAT HOW CAN YOU

ALLOW SOMEONE ELSE WITH NO

LICENSE.

THEY ARE NOT LICENSED.

THAT'S NOT -- THAT IS TOTALLY

UNFAIR.

THAT'S WHY WE ARE CLAIMING TO

TLC TO LEVEL THE PLAYING FIELD

OTHERWISE --

>> LET ME ASK YOU BECAUSE THIS

IS FROM WHAT I UNDERSTAND A LOT

OF DRIVERS THIS MEDALLION WAS

THEIR 401K PLAN. IS THAT THE

CASE FOR YOU AND WHAT HAPPENED?

>> WE HAVE NOTHING.

LET'S SAY FOR EXAMPLE I'M ABOUT

TO RETIRE IF I WANT TO.

I HAVE NOTHING.

ON JULY I WANT TO KNOW MY

FUTURE. IF THEY DON'T REFINANCE

WHAT MY LOAN, I'M OUT.

IF I'M OUT OF WORK, I LOSE MY

HOME. SO EVERYTHING THAT

I WORK FOR, 34 YEARS OF MY

LIFE WRKING 60, 80 HOURS A WEEK,

FOR YEARS AND YEARS

AND NEVER COMPLAINED ONLY FOR

THE SATISFACTION OF GIVING MY

KIDS A GOOD EDUCATION.

FOR ME I DIDN'T CARE.

I WAS THINKING THAT AT LEAST ONE

DAY WHEN I GET OLD I CAN RETIRE

WITH DIGNITY AND SAY I MADE IT.

NOW MY KIDS ARE GOING TO HAVE

A GREAT SHOT AT THE AMERICAN

DREAM.

I'M JUST DOING WHAT ALL

IMMIGRANTS HAVE DONE.

WANTS TO SACRAFICE FOR THE

WELL DREAM OF THE ENTIRE FAMILY.

>> WHAT IS THE GAME PLAN?

HOW ARE THE ADVOCATES PUSHING

THE GOVERNOR AND THE MAYOR

TO HELP THESE TAXI DRIVERS

WHICH FOR YEARS ENJOYED A

VIRTUAL MONOPLY IN THE CITY.

>> SO THERE'S A FEW THINGS WE

ARE TRYING HERE.

WE TRIED TO TALK TO TLC AND

REACH OUT TO THE MAYOR'S OFFICE

ABOUT TRYING TO MAKE THIS MORE

OF A LEVEL PLAYING FIELD AND

MAKE IT SO EVERYONE HAS TO DRIVE

THE SAME CAR OR THE SAME FREEDOM

OF CHOICE THAT THE UBER DRIVERS

MIGHT HAVE.

SO WHAT WE ARE HEARING REALLY IS

NOT A LOT.

THEY KIND OF PUT THEIR HANDS UP

IN THE AIR AND SAY FREE MARKET.

THAT FREE MARKET WASN'T SO FREE

WHEN YOU SOLD IT FOR $1.1

MILLION IN 2014.

BY GOING THROUGH WE ARE ALWAYS

HOLDING A RALLY OR MEETING WITH

CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS, STATE

ELECTED OFFICIALS, SENATORS.

NOW WE ARE TAKING IT TO THE

LEGAL SYSTEM.

WE ARE FILING LAWSUITS ON BEHALF

OF THE MEDALLION DRIVERS AGAINST

THE CITY BECAUSE THE CITY AND

THE TLC HAS A DUTY TO PROTECT

THE FINANCIAL VALUE OF THE

MEDALLION WHICH THEY HAVE NOT.

>> HOW SO?

>> IT'S IN THE CITY CHARTER AND

ALSO IN THE TLC RULES AND

REGULATIONS THAT THE COMMISSION

HAS BEEN GIVEN THE DUTY TO

PROTECT THE VALUE FOR NUMEROUS

REASONS, ONE BEING THAT YOU HAVE

6,000 INDEPENDENT IMMIGRANT

OWNERS THAT PAY THEIR LIFE

INVESTMENTS INTO THE SYSTEM TO

HAVE THE RIGHT FOR THE

EXCLUSIVITY OF A STREET HAIL AND

THEN THAT GOES OUT THE WINDOW.

>> I KNOW FOR MANY PEOPLE IN THE

CITY YELLOW CABS ARE THE ENEMY.

VERY HARD TO FIND A CAB TO

PICK YOU UP AND SO ARE YOU

GETTING SYMPATHY FROM THE

RIDING PUBLIC?

>> SO THAT'S A GREAT QUESTION.

I HAVE EXPERIENCED THROUGH

ELECTED OFFICIALS OR

REPRESENTATIVES IS THAT THEY

HAVE THIS IDEA OF WHAT A

MEDALLION OWNER OR DRIVER IS.

TO THEM IT'S MILLIONAIRE SITTING

ON A FANCY MANSION SOMEWHERE.

THAT IS NOT THE CASE.

YOU HAVE OVER 6,000 INDEPENDENT

OWNERS OUT THERE WHO ARE JUST

LIKE YOU AND ME TRYING TO GET BY

EVERY SINGLE DAY.

WHAT WE ARE TRYING TO DO IS TO

REALLY JUST GET EVERYONE ON THE

SAME PAGE AND UNDERSTAND THE

REALITY OF WHAT THE SITUATION IS

AND WHO WE ARE TALKING

ABOUT HERE.

THAT HAS BEEN A HUGE BATTLE.

>> YOU MENTIONED MELROSE

EARLIER. WHERE ARE THEY NOW?

ARE THEY IN BANKRUPTCY?

>> THEY'VE BEEN TAKEN OVER

BY THE DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE

OF THE STATE AND I THINK THEY

HAVE LITIGATED THE MANAGEMENT

I THINK TO THE FED.

>> THE FEDERAL.

>> SO -- SO NOW THE NATIONAL

CREDIT UNION ADMINISTRATION

WHICH IS A FEDERAL REGULATOR HAS

BASICALLY TAKEN OVER MELROSE

CREDIT UNION AND ARE

BASICALLY RUNNING THEM. SINCE

THEY HAVE TAKEN OVER THE ISSUES

HAVE COME UP WHERE THEY ARE

GIVING OUT THESE RIDICULOUS AND

UNREASONABLE LOAN AGREEMENTS AND

TRYING TO MAKE PEOPLE AGREE TO

THINGS THAT ARE NOT POSSIBLE.

>> UNFORTUNATELY, WE ARE OUT OF

TIME, NICOLE EPSTEIN, MARCELINO

HERVIAS, THANK YOU

FOR JOINING US.

SO THE WHOLE IDEA IS THAT WE

INVITE YOUNG MEN OUR AGE TO GO

WE TRY TO REMOVE KIND OF INNATE

ANOTHER AND GROW.

>> I GUESS THIS IS A PLAY ON THE

YOU HAVE GOTTEN ANY SORT OF

BLOWBACK FROM THE TERM?

>> WE HAVE NOT.

REWILDING WE KIND OF REPURPOSED

THE TERM.

IT IS USING ECLOGICAL

COMMUNITIES.

IT'S THE IDEA OF WHEN YOU TAKE

OUR HUMAN INFLUENCE OUT OF an

ENVIRONMENT HOW THAT

ENVIRONMENT RETURNS TO ITS

NATURAL STATE OF BEING.

SO WHEN FOR INSTANCE WE

HUNTED WOLVES, THE

ENTIRE ECOLOGICAL SET CHANGED.

IT WENT BACK TO ITS NATURAL

STATE AND RETURNED.

SO REWILDING TO US IS RETURNING

TO OUR NATURAL STATE OF BEING

UNINFLUENCED BY MEDIA AND

CULTURAL NORMS.

RETURNING TO OUR NATURAL, INNATE

WAYS OF BEING.

THIS IS REALLY FOCUSSED AROUND

LOVE IN OUR PROGRAM.

>> YOU'RE FINE.THAT ROPE IS

SO STRONG MAN. LET GO OF YOUR

HANDS. JUST HANG.

>> I KNOW WHAT HAPPINESS IS NOW

AND IT'S TRULY FIGHTING THROUGH

THE THINGS THAT HOLDS YOU BACK

FROM EXCELLING IN YOUR LIFE

MENTALLY, PHYSICALLY.

>> WHAT WAS THAT LIKE?

>> THAT WAS ONE OF THE KEY

TRANSITIONAL PIECES THAT

HAPPENED TO ME AT THAT MOMENT.

IT WAS A TURNING POINT.

I PUSHED THROUGH MORE THAN I

HAVE EVER FOR ANYTHING.

VERY EMOTIONAL, SUPER EMOTIONAL

AND TONS OF SUPPORT.

IT WAS LIKE A BUNCH OF THINGS

THAT I MISSED IN LIFE ALL

HAPPENED AT ONCE.

I TOOK ON A TASK, IT WAS

DIFFICULT BUT I PUSHED THROUGH

AND SUCCEEDED AND I HAD THE

SUPPORT AND THE CHEERS

AND THE LOVE. USUALLY THAT

HAPPENS IN A SPAN OF TIME BUT

THAT HAPPENED IN ONE INSTANCE.

IT WAS COMPLETELY OVERWHELMING.

I DIDN'T KNOW HOW TO FEEL BUT IT

WAS A FEELING. EVENTUALLY

TRANSFORMS INTO SOMETHING GREAT.

>> WHAT DO YOU WANT PEOPLE TO

GET OUT OF THE FILM?

>> I HOPE TO GET OUT OF THE FILM

IS WHAT ANTHONY JUST DESCRIBED

WHICH IS JUST INDIVIDUALS HAVING

AMAZING KIND OF LIFE EXPERIENCES

AND THE FILM IS REALLY A TOOL TO

CONTINUE TO DO THAT.

THIS ALL WAS BORN WITH A DESIRE

OF ME AND A GROUP OF FRIENDS WHO

WANTED TO START OUR RETREAT AND

TO SERVE NOT ONLY PEOPLE WHO

COULD PAY TO COME ON ADVENTURES

BUT ALSO SERVE A COMMUNITY

THAT COULDN'T.

WE MADE THE FILM AS A WAY TO

KIND OF ILLUSTRATE WHAT OUR

PROGRAM WOULD OFFER AND THE

BENEFITS AND GAIN SUPPORT FOR

IT.

>> DO YOU HAVE FUNDING?

>> WE DON'T CURRENTLY HAVE

FUNDING.

WE ARE WORKING ON IT.

THE FILM IS IN POST PRODUCTION

STILL SO NOT COMPLETED YET.

OUR GOAL IS TO TURN THIS FILM

INTO A TELEVISION SERIES.

WE ARE ALREADY WORKING WITH SOME

PRODUCERS IN THAT EFFORT.

SO THE IDEA IS THAT USING THE

FILM WE WILL START THE

TELEVISION SHOW AND BY HAVING A

MULTI SEASON SHOW WE WILL BE

ABLE TO CONTINUE TO

SUBSIDIZE THE COST OF

OPERATING THE PROGRAM AND THEN

COVER ADDITIONAL COSTS THROUGH

GRANTS AND FUNDRAISING AND

SIMILAR METHODS USED BY MOST

NONPROFITS.

>> TELL US WHAT HAPPENED.

EARLIER YOU SAID SOMETHING

REALLY PROFOUND. YOU SAID

I'D NEVER DONE ANYTHING RIGHT,

SO WHATED THAT LED YOU TO BEING

INCARCERATED?

AND WHAT ARE YOU DOING THESE

DAYS?

>> WHAT LED ME TO MY

INCARCERATION AND GROUP

HOMES AND FOSTER HOMES

A NUMBER OF THINGS THAT MANY

KIDS GO THROUGH IN MY COMMUNITY.

GANGS, VIOLENCE AND THINGS OF

THAT NATURE.

YOU KNOW BASICALLY THAT WAS

MY BORN PATH. I KIND OF

ALREADY HAD A DESIRE TO WANT TO

CHANGE AND HELP PEOPLE TO CHANGE

SO IT WAS NATURAL TO COME INTO

WHAT I'M DOING NOW WHICH IS

WORKING WITH YOUNG ADULTS

FOR THIS NON FOR PROFIT

AGENCY.

>> AND THEN YOU ARE TRYING

TO GET THEM ON A STRAIGHT AND

NARROW PATH IN SHARING YOUR

STORIES WITH THEM?

>> >> ABSOLUTELY.

THAT IS WHAT I'M ABOUT TO HELP

THEM FIRST FIND WHAT THEIR

DESIRE IS AND WHAT THEIR ART IS

AND WHAT ARE THE THINGS THAT

THEY LOVE AND HELP TO TRANSFORM

THAT INTO SOMETHING THAT THEY

CAN TAKE INTO THEIR COMMUNITIES

AND USE AND BUILD AND HOPEFULLY

DO A TON OF THINGS THEY CAN DO

WITH SOMETHING THAT IS INSIDE OF

THEM THAT IS PERSONAL.

>> DO YOU FEEL THE PULL OF THAT

LIFE STILL COMING AT YOU?

>> NOT NECESSARILY THE BEHAVIORS

AS FAR AS GOING BACK TO DEALING

AND GANGS AND THINGS LIKE THAT.

THE MUSIC AND THE FASHION AND

ALL OF THOSE THINGS PLAY INTO

THAT AND THOSE ARE KIND OF THE

TEMPTATIONS TO SAY LET ME

NOT WEAR THIS TYPE OF CLOTHING

ANYMORE, LET ME NOT GET THIS

TYPE OF HAIRCUT ANYMORE,

BECAUSE THOSE ARE THE THINGS

THAT I GOT FROM THE STREET

AND I WANT TO CHANGE BUT THOSE

TYPE OF THINGS-

>> SO JESSE, HOW TO YOU VET

THE MEMBERS INTO THE PROGRAM?

>> WE REACHED OUT TO THE LEADERS

OF THESE DIFFERENT PROGRAMS AND

INFORMED THEM WE HAVE AN

OPPORTUNITY HERE FOR YOUNG MEN.

WOULD YOU PLEASE SHARE THIS

OPPORTUNITY?

WE HAD VIDEO AND MATERIALS TO

SEE WHAT WAS TO COME AND WHAT

KIND OF OPPORTUNITY THIS WAS.

AND THEN THOSE LEADERS

SHARED IT WITH THOSE GROUPS.

OF THE 50 TO 100 GUYS THAT THEY

SHARED IT WITH BETWEEN ONE AND

FIVE INDIVIDUALS WHO WERE

ACTUALLY INTERESTED IN

PARTICIPATING AND GOING.

THE OPPORTUNITY INVOLVED LIVING

IN A VAN WITH A BUNCH OF GUYS IN

SMALL QUARTERS, NOT SHOWERING A

LOT, GETTING DIRTY AND CLIMBING

MOUNTAINS.

WASN'T NECESSARILY APPEALING TO

EVERYBODY IN THE PROGRAM.

WE WENT DOWN TO NEW YORK AND

JUST INTERVIEWED.

SAT DOWN TO JUST MET WITH

EVERYBODY AND TALK ABOUT THAT

EXPERIENCE.

IN THE FUTURE -- THAT WAS HOW WE

INITIALLY DID IT. GOING DOWN AND

MEETING THE PEOPLE.

WE HAD LIMITED SPACE SO WE WENT

AND JUST TALKED TO PEOPLE.

IN THE FUTURE WHAT WE ARE DOING

IS THE PROGRAMS ARE BAKING IT

INTO THEIR PROGRAM SO THAT

THROUGH SUCCEEDING IN THEIR

PROGRAM YOU CAN QUALIFY TO

PARTICIPATE IN OUR PROGRAM.

AND THEN WE WILL BE HOSTING

GROUPS INSTEAD OF INDIVIDUALS.

ANTHONY'S TRIP WAS AN

INDIVIDUAL EXPERIENCE.

IT'S NOT REALLY FEASIBLE

FINANCIALLY TO DO ONE-ON-ONE

EXPERIENCES IN THAT SAME WAY.

IN THE FUTURE BEING IN GROUPS OF

10, 15 PEOPLE AND THEN HAVE

PEERS, OTHER INDIVIDUALS SAME

AGE WHO ARE OFTEN PARTICIPATING

IN THE SAME ADVENTURE WITH THEM.

>> UNFORTUNATELY WE'RE OUT OF

TIME. JESSE SPIEGEL, ANTHONY

DEJESUS, THANKS FOR JOINING US.

>> THANK YOU.

>> WHEN WE COME BACK, THE

POLITICS OF RACE AND BEAUTY

EXPLORED IN A PLAY ABOUT A

WOMAN WHO WAS A SIDESHOW FREAK.

AN OFF-BROADWAY REVIVAL OF

PRIZE WINNING AUTHOR

SUSAN-LORI PARKS. IT EXPLORES

THE LIFE OF SARAH BARTMAN, A

SOUTH AFRICAN WOMAN WHOSE

BODY WAS BOTH A BANE AND A BOON.

ZYPHUS LEBRUN HAS THE DETAILS.

>> THE PLAY VENUS

TELLS THE STORY OF SARAH

BARTMAN, A BUXOM AND CURVY SOUTH

AFRICAN WOMAN WHO WAS LURED FROM

HER COUNTRY WITH PROMISES OF

FORTUNE AND FAME. ONCE IN

EUROPE SHE FOUND HERSELF

EQUALLY REVERED AND REVILED

FOR HER PERPLEXING PROPORTIONS.

SHE BECAME KNOWN AS VENUS

HOT AND TOT,

A SIDE SHOW FREAK THAT TOURED

BRITIAN AS ONE OF THE NINE

HUMAN WONDERS.

>> SHE THOUGHT SHE WAS GOING

THERE TO BE A DANCER AND

SHE ENDS UP DOING FREAK SHOWS.

THIS IS AROUND THE TIME WHEN

HUMAN ZOOS WERE POPULAR AND

FREAK SHOWS WERE REALLY AT THE

HEIGHT OF ENTERTAINMENT AND

SO SHE WAS DISPLAYED ACROSS

BRITIAN AND EUROPE.

>> IT IS ALSO A TIME IN WORLD

HISTORY WHEN SCIENTISTS HAD

ZOOMED IN ON BARTMAN'S TRIBE

FOR THEIR PHYSICAL

ATTRIBUTES.

>> THE TIMING AND ALL OF THAT.

AT THAT TIME WE WERE SEEING

THE BIRTH OF RACIAL SCIENCE

WAS REALLY STARTING TO TAKE OFF

AT THAT TIME.

SHE CAME AROUND AT THAT TIME

WHERE THEY WERE ALREADY PEOPLE

SCIENTISTS LOOKING TO FIND THE

MISSING LINK BETWEEN MAN AND

APE.

THEY HAD FOR SOME REASON ZEROED

IN ON THE KOI KOI PEOPLE.

>> JAH, WHO HAS A VERY SLIGHT

SHE SAYS THAT IT HAS REALLY

HEPED HER TO GET INTO

THE CHARACTER'S MINDSET WHO

IS ALWAYS BEING OGGLED AND

PRODDED AS WELL AS

MAKE A CONNECTION WITH THE

AUDIENCE.

>> THEY WATCH ME,

TRANSFORMED INTO THIS

OTHER PERSON.

IT JUST HAPPENS IMMEDIATELY.

AND IT HAPPENED EVEN WHEN WE

WERE DOING THE FITTING WHEN THEY

WERE DOING TWEAKS.

AND TWEAKING AND SEEING WHAT

NEEDED ADJUSTING AND I

REMEMBER LOOKING AT IT AND

FEELING SO OUTSIDE OF MYSELF

BECAUSE THEY ARE LOOKING AT ME

TALKING ABOUT THIS BODY THAT WAS

ON ME BUT IT WASN'T ME AND I

SAID TO LEE, I SAID, IT'S

AMAZING. I DIDN'T EXPECT TO

GO THERE THAT QUICKLY.

>> WHEN THIS PLAY PREMIRED

ORIGINALLY NEARLY 20 YEARS AGO,

ONE OF THE CRITICISMS IS THAT IT

DIDN'T PROPERLY EXAMINE THE

UNDERLINING RACIAL OVERTONES.

JAH SAYS THE DIRECTOR

LEAR DEBESSONET

AND PLAYWRIGHT SUSAN-LORI

PARKS DIDN'T WANT THE WORK

TO BE ABOUT DEMONIZING

WHITE PEOPLE.

>> IT'S ALL ABOUT BRINGING THE

LOVE TO THE FOREFRONT, THAT

SARAH WANTED SO BADLY AND SHE

SAID I DON'T WANT IT TO BE

ABOUT WHITE PEOPLE DOING

EVIL THINGS, I WANT IT TO BE

ABOUT LOVE. AND YOU REALLY

FEEL THA ON THE STAGE AND I

THINK THE PAYOFF IS THAT IT'S

DOUBLY DEVASTATING WHEN IT

ENDS THE WAY IT DOES.

>> BUT AS THE BRIT FOUND OUT

AFTER AN ENCOUNTER WITH A

FAN, THE ISSUES OF RACISM AND

FETISHIZING THE BLACK BODY

ARE VERY REAL FOR SOME OF

HER AMERICAN AUDIENCE.

>> AND SHE SAID, AS A BLACK

WOMAN WE JUST WANT TO BE

SEEN AND HEARD AND LOVED AND

THEN I SAW THIS PLAY AND THEN

SHE STARTED STAMMERING AND SHE

COULDN'T SPEAK AND I PUT

MY ARMS AROUND HER AND SHE

JUST COLLAPSED. AND SHE COULDN'T

SPEAK SHE WAS JUST SHAKING

AND CRYING. AND I THOUGHT, OH,

I DIDN'T KNOW BUT THIS IS

WHAT I'M DOING. THIS IS WHAT

I WANT. NOT THAT I ASKED FOR IT

Skam Season 4 Episode 7 Clip The group for us who have been exposed to cyberbullying - Duration: 7:33.

Hey, I made a group chat for all of us who's been targeted on Instagram. I finally reached Sara & she's of course really devastated

she left to her cabin in Kragerø, and won't be back to school until Monday. She wanted me to forward this to you guys

"Tell the girls I never meant any harm, and that I really care for all of them. Even if it was me who wrote that shit

it was a really long time ago and I didn't mean any of it. I don't know who did this to me, but I am going to find out"

Sara is so so devastated she had to drop the mock-exam today

Iselin: Say hello from us and tell her that nobody cares, everybody talks shit about everybody

Sana: Poor thing ❤️

Lea: Nobody deserves to be subjected to something like that

Ingrid: The real problem here is actually who did this to Sara and us. Sara has tried to find the stuff that was said in her chats

but she hasn't managed to find it yet. She's going to keep looking. A few of us knows that she has written some of the stuff about us. It tells us that it's an excerpt from different chats. Maybe somebody faceraped Sara

Olivia: Excuse me... I just thought of something... wasn't Vilde using Sara's facebook last week? When she posted the picture??

Ingrid: Yes, holy fuck!!

Lea: That's right!

Sana: If the pictures were from Sara's Facebook, wouldn't the chat bubbles be blue then?

Lea: And she told us yesterday that she didn't think Sara should be bus leader anymore!!?

Iselin: She can't be this stupid?

Ingrid: Yes, she actually can be! It has to be her!? Ingrid: And she always wanted to be bus leader herself!

Lea: And it says 'The one and only perfect bus leader' on the Instagram account!! It said the same thing over the photo!! It means that it has to be someone who's in that group!!

Ingrid: AND: we threw her off the bus in first grade when she tried to hijack the bus leader role

Iselin: This makes so much sense!

I was actually thinking of texting you a while ago

Why didn't you? What happened?

I don't know. when I was about to, I didn't really know what to type

But I heard that you've started studying to become a nurse?

How is it?

It's ok.

You still go to Nissen, right?

What program subjects are you taking?

Biology, chemistry, math..

What is the name of your chemistry teacher again?

Lars?

That tall one right? With brown hair? It was him right?

Yeah? Did you have him as well?

He always used to wear the same shirt. A blue shirt. Is he still wearing it?

Yeah. Did he wear it when you went there?

All three years? -All three years!

Ew!

He's 'special'

So it's not just me who thinks he's 'special'

But you're fasting, right?

Mhm

You too?

Mhm

Are you hungry?

A little

Are you?

Yeah...but it sort of gets easier each day when you get used to it.

Yeah that's true.

Maghrib (when they break fast) is at 22:25 today

What did you say? 22:25 (10.25 pm)

How many hours is there left?

About 6 hours and 40 minutes approximately

It's really funny, even Elias knows what time Maghrib is these days

You know how there are people who say you can't sing, dance or listen to music while fasting?

But there are some who say you can't do that all anyways -That's true

And there are many who don't use make-up while fasting

Yesterday, I was wearing make-up and someone gave me this look

I think perhaps it was because I was wearing make-up

I've heard there are some who go around spitting all the time

because they believe you can't swallow your own spit, because if you do, you break your fast

- I have a friend - Who goes around spitting all the time. - At school, at work...

You need confidence to do that.

But you are okay right?
