Consequence of Rigged Markets is Currency Crisis – James Howard Kunstler - Duration: 3:19.

Author/journalist James Howard Kunstler has been in the writing business for decades and

has never seen the geopolitical and economic landscape in America look like it does today.

Kunstler explains, "I have never lived through a time, and it's obvious I have lived a

long time . . . in American history that is as crazy as this one.

The part that is the most disturbing is the people who used to be sane have now completely

gone off the rails.

I am speaking of the Democratic Party.

The nonsense that is coming out of that wing of our politics has really become a reality

optional political party."

On the so-called Russia collusion story and the 2016 election, Kunstler says, "What

is the strangest part of the whole story is that we have heard nothing but the phrase

'collusion, Russian collusion, Russian interference' in the election for the last 12 months.

I have yet to hear anybody say what it actually was that they colluded with, or what they

actually did other than getting the emails of the DNC and John Podesta and making them

public.

That doesn't seem to be what they are talking about.

We have to find out what they mean by collusion and interference because nobody wants to say."

On the state of journalism, Kunstler, who is a prolific writer and has authored 20 books,

contends, "It's amazingly disappointing.

What else can you say?

It makes you wonder if the people at the New York Times, CNN and the Washington Post are

just underpaid and dumb or whether they are just so dogmatic and ideologically agenda

driven that they have become reality optional.

They are not interested in what's really going on in the world, but only in the 'narrative'

they are trying to push.

It's hard to understand how a culture can decay to this degree, but that's what we

are seeing.

We are seeing the culture of journalism just rot away.

. . . What we are seeing is extremely politically driven media."

Kunstler points out that all markets are rigged and is "worried" about the true state

of the economy.

Kunstler says, "Many have accepted the fact that the authorities can keep on producing

these perversions and distortions of finance forever with no consequences.

That's the part that is really missing.

That's the part of that story that is missing is the idea that there are any consequences

for intervening, perverting and distorting the price discovery mechanism of markets.

That is the fundamental purpose of a market.

. . . The idea that that can go on indefinitely without producing consequences is absurd."

So, how does Kunstler think this will play out?

Kunstler says, "There is an appearance that they can carry on these shenanigans forever,

but sooner, rather than later, we are going to see consequences.

My guess is it will appear in the form of people losing their confidence in the value

and the meaning of the money they are using.

That would be a currency crisis.

Right now, they have no reason to believe in the value of the things in the markets

because the markets have been so distorted.

Eventually, I think it will be a matter of them losing confidence in the currencies themselves.

I think that's where it's going to start to accelerate into a major crisis of culture

and economy."

Bitcoin is High Reward & High Risk – Warren Pollock - Duration: 3:15.

Geopolitical and financial analyst Warren Pollock says you should study up on Bitcoin

before you buy it.

Pollock says, Bitcoin (and crypto currencies in general) carries "high reward, but also

some very high risk."

Pollock explains, "First of all, Bitcoin and these other crypto currencies are not

currencies.

Most of all, they are not efficient ways of having transactional exchanges between people.

They just don't work the same way the credit card network does or the check writing does.

In fact, the speed in which Bitcoin can clear a transaction is downright pathetic.

. . . I was able to obtain Bitcoin transaction speed at about 6.9 transactions per second.

That's what I evaluate the network capacity to be.

. . . Right now, in America, you take your Visa card and up to 50,000 people can transact

concurrently per second.

So, there is a tremendous lack of horsepower in Bitcoin."

Now, there is pending legislation in Congress to force owners of Bitcoin to disclose they

have it or face big penalties.

The legislation has not passed yet, but it looks like it's coming in the future.

Pollock contends, "Bitcoin has captured the imagination of people, but it has also

captured the imagination of our politicians, and they have vivid imaginations.

They see problems where there are no problems, and they will see their ability to capture

money with something that is an emerging technology.

It is a data base technology.

It's not a currency.

It's going to be like foreign banks accounts.

If you have more than $10,000, you better fill out that form for the Department of Treasury

at the end of the year . . . otherwise, you will be subject to tremendous penalties.

Bitcoin will fall into a similar kind of net.

It's a fait accompli."

So, could you be considered a criminal for using Bitcoin?

Pollock says, "Yes, you could.

More so, what's really more important than prosecuting you as a criminal is really gathering

information on you for future use should it be convenient.

So, you make yourself a target.

Not so much if you have a little bit of it, but the threshold will be set pretty low eventually,

and that number is $10,000."

Switching gears, Pollock gives his thoughts on the chaos going on in Washington, D.C.

Pollock says it's like the fake fighting of a TV wrestling match.

Pollock explains, "Technically, I think Trump has been neutered.

His personal lawyer does know how to deal with the politics at hand.

In fact, he took Mr. Comey and he eviscerated him and actually made Comey a target.

In our last talk, we brought up obstruction of justice.

Not that it is credible, it's probably just as incredible as this Russia nonsense, but

it is a great amount of entertainment.

It's a great amount of propaganda.

It provides a great smokescreen, and it basically allows the looting to go on another day.

The more Trump can be neutered, the more it can be business as usual.

. . . There is systemic propaganda that is all over our news media."

UN Announces That The Worst Food Crisis Since World War II Is Happening Right Now - Duration: 6:28.

We always knew that this would start happening.

Earlier this month, I wrote about the severe economic problems that are plaguing South

America, but up to this point I have neglected to discuss the horrific famines that are breaking

out all over Africa.

Right now there is a desperate need for food in South Sudan, Somalia, northeast Nigeria,

Eritrea and Kenya.

And Yemen, even though it is not technically part of Africa, is being affected by many

of the same factors that are crippling nations all over eastern Africa.

The United Nations says that more than 20 million people could die from starvation and

disease if nothing is done.

When I write about economic collapse, this is the kind of thing that I am talking about,

and we are starting to see alarming conditions spread across the globe.

Many believe that we could never possibly face this kind of food crisis in the western

world, but unfortunately wishful thinking will only get you so far.

The United Nations was formed in 1945, and the UN has just announced that what we are

facing this year is "the largest humanitarian crisis since the creation of the UN".

The following comes from a CNN article entitled "20 million at risk of starvation in world's

largest crisis since 1945, UN says"…

"We stand at a critical point in history.

Already at the beginning of the year we are facing the largest humanitarian crisis since

the creation of the UN," UN humanitarian chief Stephen O'Brien said Friday.

"Now, more than 20 million people across four countries face starvation and famine.

Without collective and coordinated global efforts, people will simply starve to death.

Many more will suffer and die from disease."

It would be hard to overstate the level of human suffering that we are witnessing in

many parts of Africa at this moment.

In Somalia, the UN estimates that more than 6 million people are in desperate need of

food aid…

As Somalia inches closer to a calamitous famine, the prospect of utter devastation and colossal

loss of human life is once again becoming an imminent reality.

The humanitarian situation in Somalia is deteriorating by the day with up to 6.2 million people in

need of urgent aid.

People across Somalia have been forced to walk hundreds of miles in search of food,

water and shelter- with women and children disproportionately affected.

Over 300,000 children under the age of five are severely malnourished, with over 200,000

more children at risk of acute malnutrition.

In South Sudan, close to half the population is in dire need of assistance, and things

have gotten so bad there that people will literally eat grass if they can find it…

Across South Sudan more than one million children are believed to be acutely malnourished and

UNICEF have said that if urgent aid does not reach them, many of them will die.

"There is no food, we eat anything we can find," one South Sudanese mother told ITV.

"We will find grass, we will eat it.

That's just the way it us for us now."

Over in Yemen, there are about seven million people in need of food help, and authorities

are warning that if nothing is done "millions of children" could starve to death…

"The numbers affected are absolutely extraordinary," said Mark Kaye, Save the Children's Yemen

spokesperson.

"We keep on talking about a country that's on the brink of famine, but for me these numbers

highlight that we're at the point of no return.

If things are not done now we are going to be looking back on this and millions of children

will have starved to death, and we'll all have been aware of this for some time.

That will shame us as an international community for years to come.

Eritrea was not specifically included in the recent UN alert, but it should have been.

Much of the country has been hit by a crippling drought, and approximately half of all children

in Eritrea are stunted…

But we cannot understand why Eritrea is not included in the appeal.

Unicef has confirmed what we know from our friends and families inside the country.

In a report in January, the agency said that the El Niño drought has hit half of all Eritrea's

regions.

Acute malnutrition is widespread.

As Unicef put it: "Malnutrition rates already exceeded emergency levels, with 22,700 children

under five projected to suffer from severe acute malnutrition in 2017 … Half of all

children in Eritrea are stunted, and as a result, these children are even more vulnerable

to malnutrition and disease outbreaks."

We have been warned that there would be famines in diverse places in these times.

But here in the western world we tend to be lulled into a false sense of security by our

comfortable lives, not realizing that the massively inflated standard of living that

we have been enjoying has been fueled by the largest mountain of debt in the history of

the planet.

In Kenya, a national emergency has been declared due to drought and famine.

For those of you that are parents, what would you do if your children were crying out for

food but you didn't have anything to give them?

The following story from Kenya is beyond heartbreaking…

Emmanuel Ayapar is three years old and can no longer walk.

The flesh on his legs, which dangle from his mother's hip as she carries him around,

is wasting away.

He seems listless and sad, tongue flicking repeatedly in and out of his mouth.

'We do not have enough food,' said Veronica, his 28-year-old mother.

'We eat only once a day.'

The little boy is suffering from severe malnutrition and is at risk of starving to death.

He weighs just 15lb – half the typical weight for a boy of his age.

I don't even know what to say after that.

In the western world we can be so incredibly self-absorbed that we don't even realize

that children are literally starving to death on the other side of the planet.

Hopefully those of us that live in "wealthy" western countries will step up to the plate

and aid those in need, and hopefully this crisis will also help us to understand that

we need to prepare for the day when things get difficult in our own nations too.

Half Of The Population Of The World Is Dirt Poor – And The Global Elite Want To Keep It That Way - Duration: 9:29.

Could you survive on just $2.50 a day?

According to Compassion International, approximately half of the population of the entire planet

currently lives on $2.50 a day or less.

Meanwhile, those hoarding wealth at the very top of the global pyramid are rapidly becoming

a lot wealthier.

Don't get me wrong – I am a very big believer in working hard and contributing something

of value to society, and those that work the hardest and contribute the most should be

able to reap the rewards.

In this article I am in no way, shape or form criticizing true capitalism, because if true

capitalism were actually being practiced all over the planet we would have far, far less

poverty today.

Instead, our planet is dominated by a heavily socialized debt-based central banking system

that systematically transfers wealth from hard working ordinary citizens to the global

elite.

Those at the very top of the pyramid know that they are impoverishing everyone else,

and they very much intend to keep it that way.

Let's start with some of the hard numbers.

According to Zero Hedge, Credit Suisse had just released their yearly report on global

wealth, and it shows that 45.6 percent of all the wealth in the world is controlled

by just 0.7 percent of the people…

As Credit Suisse tantalizingly shows year after year, the number of people who control

just shy of a majority of global net worth, or 45.6% of the roughly $255 trillion in household

wealth, is declining progressively relative to the total population of the world, and

in 2016 the number of people who are worth more than $1 million was just 33 million,

roughly 0.7% of the world's population of adults.

On the other end of the pyramid, some 3.5 billion adults had a net worth of less than

$10,000, accounting for just about $6 trillion in household wealth.

And since this is a yearly report, we can go back and see how things have changed over

time.

When Zero Hedge did this, it was discovered that the wealth of those at the very top "has

nearly doubled" over the past six years, and meanwhile the poor have gotten even poorer…

Incidentally, we tracked down the first Credit Suisse report we found in this series from

2010, where the total wealth of the top "layer" in the pyramid was a modest $69.2 trillion

for the world's millionaires.

It has nearly doubled in the 6 years since then.

Meanwhile, the world's poorest have gotten, you got it, poorer, as those adults who were

worth less than $10,000 in 2010 had a combined net worth of $8.2 trillion, a number which

has since declined to $6.1 trillion in 2016 despite a half a billion increase in the sample

size.

If these trends continue at this pace, it won't be too long before the global elite

have virtually all of the wealth and the rest of us have virtually nothing.

Perhaps you are fortunate enough to still have a good job, and you live in a large home

and you will sleep in a warm bed tonight.

Well, you should consider yourself to be very blessed, because that is definitely not the

case for most of the rest of the world.

The following 11 facts about global poverty come from dosomething.com, and I want you

to really let these numbers sink in for a moment…

1.

Nearly 1/2 of the world's population — more than 3 billion people — live on less than

$2.50 a day.

More than 1.3 billion live in extreme poverty — less than $1.25 a day.

2.

1 billion children worldwide are living in poverty.

According to UNICEF, 22,000 children die each day due to poverty.

3.

805 million people worldwide do not have enough food to eat.

Food banks are especially important in providing food for people that can't afford it themselves.

Run a food drive outside your local grocery store so people in your community have enough

to eat.

Sign up for Supermarket Stakeout.

4.

More than 750 million people lack adequate access to clean drinking water.

Diarrhea caused by inadequate drinking water, sanitation, and hand hygiene kills an estimated

842,000 people every year globally, or approximately 2,300 people per day.

5.

In 2011, 165 million children under the age 5 were stunted (reduced rate of growth and

development) due to chronic malnutrition.

6.

Preventable diseases like diarrhea and pneumonia take the lives of 2 million children a year

who are too poor to afford proper treatment.

7.

As of 2013, 21.8 million children under 1 year of age worldwide had not received the

three recommended doses of vaccine against diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis.

8.

1/4 of all humans live without electricity — approximately 1.6 billion people.

9.

80% of the world population lives on less than $10 a day.

10.

Oxfam estimates that it would take $60 billion annually to end extreme global poverty–that's

less than 1/4 the income of the top 100 richest billionaires.

11.

The World Food Programme says, "The poor are hungry and their hunger traps them in

poverty."

Hunger is the number one cause of death in the world, killing more than HIV/AIDS, malaria,

and tuberculosis combined.

So how did we get here?

Debt is the primary mechanism that takes wealth from ordinary people like you and me and puts

it into the hands of the global elite.

In my recent article entitled "Why Donald Trump Must Shut Down The Federal Reserve And

Start Issuing Debt-Free Money", I discussed how the Federal Reserve was designed to entrap

the U.S. government in an endless debt spiral from which it could never possibly escape.

And that is precisely what has happened, as the U.S. national debt has gotten more than

5000 times larger since the Federal Reserve was created in 1913.

In that very same year, the federal income tax was instituted, and that is a key part

of the program for the global elite.

You see, the income tax is how wealth is transferred from us to the government.

And then a continuously growing national debt is how that wealth is transferred from the

government to the elite.

It is a very complicated system, but at the end of the day it is all about taking money

from us and getting it into their pockets.

And at this point more than 99.9 percent of the population of the world lives in a country

with a central bank, and almost every nation on the planet has some form of income tax.

It is a global system that is designed to create as much debt as possible, and I recently

shared with my readers that the total amount of debt in the world has hit a staggering

all-time record high of 152 trillion dollars.

Interestingly, the Bible actually foretells of a time when rich men would hoard wealth

in the last days.

The following are the first five verses of the Book of James in the Modern English Version…

Come now, you rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you.

2 Your riches are corrupted and your garments are moth-eaten.

3 Your gold and silver are corroded, and their corrosion will be a witness against you and

will eat your flesh like fire.

You have stored up treasures for the last days.

4 Indeed the wages that you kept back by fraud from the laborers who harvested your fields

are crying, and the cries of those who harvested have entered into the ears of the Lord of

Hosts.

5 You have lived in pleasure on the earth and have been wayward.

You have nourished your hearts as in a day of slaughter.

So much of the time we focus on the other great sins that we see all around us, but

the truth is that one of the greatest sins of all in our world today is the sin of greed.

The borrower is the servant of the lender, and the global elite have used various forms

of debt to turn the rest of the planet into their debt slaves.

As debt levels race higher and higher all over the planet, the elite are using the magic

of compound interest to grab a bigger and bigger share of the pie.

Given enough time, those at the very top would have virtually everything and the rest of

us would have virtually nothing.

The middle class is shrinking all over the globe, and the gap between the wealthy and

the poor continues to grow at an astounding pace.

But the vast majority of people out there have no idea how money, debt, taxes and central

banks really work, and so they have no idea that this is purposely being done to them.

So please share this article with as many people as you can.

The truth is that we don't have to have this much global poverty, and if we correctly

identify the root causes of this poverty we can start working on some real solutions.
