Liverpool have no plans to move for strikers if Kylian Mbappe is unattainable
Liverpool have been one of a handful of clubs linked with a move for Monaco's forward sensation Kylian Mbappe, but no other forwards are being considered.
That's the view of James Pearce of the Liverpool Echo, who was undertaking a Q and A with Reds fans on Thursday.
Mbappe, who is already a full France international at 18 years of age and took the Champions League by storm last term, is rated at anywhere up to £100 million.
Real Madrid, Arsenal and PSG are among the other clubs interested in snaring him, and while the Reds would be fully prepared to go all-in to land the starlet, Pearce says he's a one-off.
Rumoured interest in the likes of Alexandre Lacazette, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and any other forwards are wide of the mark.
"There is no alternative to Mbappe. That was always a long shot and with him seemingly out of reach, [Jurgen] Klopp is happy to push on with the striking options he's already got.
"If Mbappe wanted a move to the Premier League, Liverpool would be prepared to bid for him, but I don't expect that to happen. "[I'm] not aware of Liverpool showing any interest in either [Lacazette] or Aubameyang this summer.
"I think the only way we'll see Liverpool buy a striker this summer is if [Daniel] Sturridge says he wants out. With Roberto Firmino being handed the No.
9 shirt, Danny Ings working his way back to full fitness and any rumours over a Sturridge exit having quietened of late, it seems the Reds will head into the 17/18 season with the same centre-forward options as one year ago.
