Love Island's Gabby Allen is hiding a tragic secret – even from new 'boyfriend' Marcel Somerville

The Love Island contestants may all look like they are having a completely carefree summer – but one star is said to be harbouring a tragic secret.

Garbielle Allen has been keeping secret the fact that her father died four years ago – according to a report by the Daily Star.

Viewers of the hit ITV2 reality dating show have watched as 25-year-old Gabby has grown close to former Blazin' Squad star Marcel Somerville, 31.

But the Daily Star reports Gabby is showing signs of not letting Marcel fully in and suggests the reason behind her hesitance could be down to her tragic family history.

Gabbys dad passed from brain cancer 4 four years ago when she was at college," the Daily Star reports a source close to the show telling them.

The report says Gabby and her family had little notice following diagnosis before her father passed away.

Her dad was her best friend, she has an incredible family, her mother and brother and Gabby have supported each other immensely the past few years, the source continued.

It is believed the love hopeful has brought a memento of her father to the island. Were aware the sunglasses Gabby wears on the show were her fathers and theyre her good luck charm," the source said.

While Gabby is finding love on the ITV2 reality show, she is holding back the heartache that her father died four years ago.   Marcel and Gabby get cosy on Love Island in the secret hideaway.

Earlier this week, viewers looked on as Gabby and Marcel spent a night together in the Hideaway. The quite love pad was granted to the pair after Marcel convinced her they should spend some time together away from the other contestants.

"Obviously me and Gabs, we're getting along really well. I'm not trying to force nothing or anything like that, but is it possible for me to get the Hideaway tonight?" Marcel requests in scenes that aired on Sunday night.
