We are so busy rushing around with our daily lives that we often don't stop to notice

what's going on around us or to see if anyone needs our help.

If we would just take a minute to remove ourselves from the busyness of life and patiently help

our fellow man in need, the world would be a much better place.

Spring Herbison Bowlin saw someone do just that recently and she was so touched by the

kindness she saw that she knew she had to share it with others.

Spring was standing in the checkout line at Walmart behind an elderly gentleman who was

getting his items scanned.

The cashier gave him his total and he looked back at Spring apologetically as he started

taking handfuls of coins out of his pockets.

He started going through the change but then realized he had miscounted and started to

get flustered, knowing he was holding up the line behind him.

"I'm so sorry," he muttered, his hands and voice shaking.

While many people watching such a situation unfold might get impatient, or even angry,

the cashier at the register did the exact opposite.

She took the man's hands in hers and then dumped all the change onto the counter.

"This is not a problem, honey," she told him.

"We will do this together."

The man continued to apologize as both Spring and the cashier reassured him that there was

no problem.

After he paid, he took his items and shuffled away.

As Spring got up to the register, she knew she had to say something to the woman to acknowledge

her kindness.

"Thank you for being so patient with him," Spring told her.

That's when the woman said something that left an inedible mark on Spring's heart.

"You shouldn't have to thank me, baby," she said.

"What's wrong with our world is we've forgotten how to love one another."

How true those words are.

If we would only take the time to love one another, so many of the wrongs in our world

would be righted.

When thinking of this cashier's kindness, we can't say it any better than Spring did

herself:

"I want to be more like her."

We all have a little good inside us.
