Hello, I'm Rob Kerr and this is the national weather for New Zealand.
Here's our pressure map showing that low centre tracking away off to the
southeast and it's just a little low so it's gonna linger along the west coast
during the course of Friday and the remaining front moving over the upper
North Island during Thursday evening and into Friday then clearing the
country Friday morning. We will see this cold front moving up the East Coast
during the course of Friday and that's gonna bring showers as well. So let's
look at our region's then. Top of the north remaining warnings and watches
will clear out whilst this front moves away and we turn to cooler drier
Southwest but still a few showers although they will clear and
ease as the day goes on especially for these inland areas. We'll still see some
showers affecting parts of Gisborne in that southerly flow. For
the lower North Island a similar story once that front moves out
it's cooler drier regime, mainly fine behind
the front but once the cold southerly change moves up there from about
lunchtime onwards we will see some showers affected parts of Wellington and
the Wairarapa. So top of the South Island we've still got that low center
moving up it's going to bring plenty of rain. Once the flow turns southeast in
behind that low Center particular for the west coast who will
see some fine weather developing there and blue skies although that southerly flow
and cold front moving up the east coast is going to bring showers to the
likes of the Kaikoura region. Lower South Island then
and that southerly flow is going to bring plenty of
showers in the morning though it will become fine for a time we'll see some of
those showers return into the likes of Canterbury Plains and some coastal
showers lingering all around the south and east corner but
becoming nice and dry in the west. Looking at the Saturday then we've got a
ridge starting to build over the country that's going to be an improving trend right
across most region so though we'll see that cold front bringing
some showers to the likes of Hawke's Bay and Gisborne through the day and
little trough is gonna linger over the upper parts of the North Island so some
showers still for Auckland and Northland. Take a look at those overnight
minimums we will see start to see some relief from the hot and humid
nights we've been having recently. That's it for me keep up with the latest at
