Sony 1000XM2 Vs Bose QC35 II - Which Is The Best Noise Canceling Headphones (Late 2017) - Duration: 9:51.

You knew it was coming, so lets get to it…

Bose QC 35 II versus the Sony 1000XM2.

These two are perhaps the most popular options right now when it comes to noise canceling

headphones.

And both of these headphones have their own strong and weak points.

But more importantly, which is right for you?

We're about to find out, don't forget to like comment and subscribe and you can

watch both of these headphones individual reviews here after you're done watching

this video.

Both of these headphones retail for $350 and both of these headphones come in two color

ways.

The Bose QC35 II come in black and silver and the Sony 1000XM2 come in black and gold.

And they both come included with a hard shell carrying case, a micro USB cable for charging,

and an audio cable.

The Sony 1000XM2 come included with an airplane adaptor, while Bose decided to leave out their

plane adaptor for the Bose QC35 II.

If you want to pick either of these headphones up I'll have links in the description and

I'll keep them updated so you can't the best deal possible.

Both of these headphones are relatively identical on the outside to their predecessors the Sony

MDR-1000X and the Original Bose QC35.

And just like before the Bose QC35 II have far superior build over the Sony 1000XM2.

The panels on the Bose QC35 II are made out of glass filled nylon which are more durable

and lighter than the plastic ones on the 1000XM2.

The plastic panels on my 1000XM2 haven't had the cracking issue that was fairly common

on the 1000X but its still too early to tell if the cracking issue is gone.

The plastic panels on the 1000XM2 are snapped into place while the panels on Bose QC35 II

are screwed in so if you flex the headband on the Bose QC35 II theres really no squeaking

or cracking and the panels stay in place better.

Where as if you flex the headband on the 1000XM2 too much you risk the panels snapping out

of place.

Both of the headphones are using synthetic leather on the ear cups and headband and they

both have plush padding.

But the padding on the Bose QC35 II is just a little softer and it stays cooler for a

little longer than the 1000XM2.

The ear cups on the Bose QC35 II are also larger than the 1000XM2 so they encase your

whole ear while the ear cups on the 1000XM2 might rest on your earlobes if you've got

bigger ears.

What this means is the Bose QC35 II have a far superior build quality and slightly better

comfort over the Sony 1000XM2.

But like I've said before, the Sony 1000XM2 forego build quality in favor of features.

First off, the 1000XM2 have a better battery life than the Bose QC35 II.

The Sony 1000XM2 should last you a little more than 30 hours with noise cancelation

on, while the Bose QC35 II have a battery life of 20 hours with noise cancelation on.

And they both have quick charging, if you plug in the 1000XM2 for 10 minutes you should

get 70 minutes of playback time.

But if you plugin the Bose QC35 II for 15 minutes you should get 2.5 and half hours

of playback time.

Concerning sound quality, I prefer the 1000XM2 over the Bose QC35 II.

The highs on the Sony don't crash like they do on the Bose and theres much less distortion

at higher volumes on the Sony.

Although the Bose QC35 II have a little bit more depth, the bass just leave you hanging.

Where as The 1000XM2 have clean bass and you can adjust their EQ through Sony's headphones

app.

And you CAN'T do that with the Bose QC35 II unless you use a third party app.

If you're debating between these two headphones chances are you're mainly interested in

the Active Noise Cancelation.

And I've got to say, Sony has really improved their Active Noise Cancelation technology.

When you activate the ANC on the Sony 1000XM2 you feel no cabin pressure on your ear drum

and they don't cause any head aches.

And the 1000XM2 are also really good at rejecting wind noise.

Where as if the microphones on the Bose QC35 II get hit by a little breeze you're going

to get some white noise.

And I've been very vocal about this in the past but the ANC on Bose QC35 II have a lot

of cabin pressure and cause headaches.

And its just not me, I've passed the Bose QC35 II around to a few people and they all

said they hurt.

If ANC is on on the Bose QC35 II and you're not playing music you're going to hear a

constant hissing sound where as with the 1000XM2 there isn't but you're still blocking

out the sound.

And when it comes to over all performance, the 1000Xm2 is better at blocking out more

sound than the Bose QC35 II.

And the 1000XM2 also give you more control of your active noise cancelation settings

thanks to their ambient sound feature.

If you just want to block out everything you can just have your standard noise cancelation

turned on.

But if you set ambient sound to low the 1000XM2 will pump in some outside sound so you can

be aware of whats going on around you if you're walking in the city.

They can also specifically only let in people's voices.

And if you want more ambient sound in you can just raise the ambient sound setting.

And they can even adjust your ambient sound setting automatically depending on what you're

doing.

With the Bose QC35 II you only have three options to choose from concerning your active

noise cancellation.

You can either choose from High, Low or OFF.

But the coolest feature the Sony 1000XM2 have that the Bose doesn't is quick attention.

If someone is talking to you while you're playing music on the 1000XM2 you don't have

to take your headphones off.

All you have to do is cover the touch pad on the right ear cup and the head phones will

automatically lower the volume of your music and pump in all of the outside sound.

Where as with the Bose, if someone tries to talk to you, you have to take your headphones

off.

This isn't as sleek as the Sony.

The only addition to the new Bose QC35 II is the new Action button on the left ear cup.

And you can either have this button do one of two things.

Either you can activate google assistant or toggle through your active noise cancelation

settings.

Like I said in my initial review, you can use google assistant with an iPhone, but its

not as useful as it would be if you used it on an Android device.

If you tap the action button once, google assistant will tell you the time and any notifications

you might have.

But if you press and hold the action button you can talk to google assistant.

And having the action button on the Bose QC35 II is useful if you're a power user of google

assistant.

It really stream lines the process of talking to your assistant.

And with the Bose QC35 II you can use the action button on the left to activate google

assistant and you can use the multipurpose button on right to activate siri if you're

using an iPhone.

So you get two assistants at your beck and call.

And I like that cause sometimes google is better at more complicated questions than

Siri.

And here are a few minor things to take into consideration.

The Bose QC35 II can connect to two devices at the same time, so switching from your phone

to your laptop like I always do is super easy.

Where as the Sony 1000XM2 can only be connected to one device at a time so you cant just hot

swap.

And like I said in my initial review, premium head phones like the 1000XM2 should be able

to connect to multiple devices at the same time.

But, the Sony 1000XM2 have been updated with Aptx HD audio so the wireless audio quality

is better than the Bose QC35 II when streaming off of the same device.

And I'm not just saying that cause its on a spec sheet… you can really tell a difference.

So, if you're trying to decide between the Bose QC35 II and the Sony 1000XM2… get the

Bose if build quality and comfort are your top priorities.

Even though the new action button is nice, its not a must have feature cause you can

still just activate google assistant straight from your phone.

But for everything else I would pick the Sony 1000XM2.

They sound better, they have more features, they have a better battery life and the Sony

headphones app gives you so much more control over them.

Not to mention, the noise cancelation on the 1000XM2 is better than the Bose QC35 II.

Theres no hissing and theres no cabin pressure… but they still manage to block out more sound.

Remember, this isn't a full review for either of these headphones I'm just trying to point

out the most important differences between them so I can help you with your purchase

decision.

Hello there.

Are you a disabled person who uses the Internet?

Then this video is for you.

Shoutout to Firefox for sponsoring this video.

I have a few questions for you.

When it comes to accessibility, what Internet browser do you like to use?

Or what Internet browsers do you think are accessible?

Do you know of any accessibility features in the browsers that you are using?

Obviously, I'm someone who has been talking about the importance of accessibility on the

internet, right?

From mostly captions for deaf and hard of hearing people like me and otherwise, to image

descriptions for blind and visually impaired people.

(That doesn't sound like a lot of variety when I put it that way, does it?)

But the Internet is used by so many people nowadays.

For a lot of people, especially disabled people, it's how we find jobs, or it is our job.

It helps us do research on topics we want to know about and helps us out with necessities

in life.

I mean, getting a job or starting my own career wasn't possible until I used the internet

to my advantage.

And because of that, it's important to make browsers as accessible as possible because

what's accessible for me might not be accessible to another disabled person beside of me.

So Firefox, made by Mozilla, a not for profit, came to me and told me a little bit about

their accessibility features and what if I told you… that Firefox has a lot of accessibility

features in their browser?

In fact, their message is, "Firefox is made for people, not for profit."

But, first, let's back it up a little bit to when its parents birthed it back in 2002

as the "original alternative".

It was a browser created to be "open to innovation and competition", meaning that

anyone could come in and change it and improve it if they so wished to.

So, already, they were doing things that other browsers don't really do.

And in 2017-

Wow, it's really been that long?

Feels like it's still 2007.

In 2017, Firefox made some major improvements to keep it more reliable and to stop it from crashing.

Which is great 'cos we all hate it when our browsers crash in the middle of something

important, right?

Firefox launched Electrolysis, or E10s, which took up less memory than Chrome and had some

pretty awesome ways to keep your stuff private.

Now back to the accessibility stuff.

To sum it all up really fast, the list of features looks like it caters more to people

who are blind/visually impaired and those who have limited ability to use a keyboard

or mouse so if you fit into those categories, Firefox just might be for you.

With that said, anyone can use these features in order to make an Internet experience easier

or more efficient.

You obviously don't have to be disabled to use them.

So let's go ahead and talk a little bit more in detail about these accessibility features,

shall we?

If you're someone who has limited mobility and can't use the mouse or trackpad a lot,

Firefox has keyboard shortcuts that you can use to get around more quickly.

For example, in the navigation, there are shortcuts for back, forward, home, open file,

reload, and stop.

Of course, it doesn't end there.

You'll find shortcuts for the current page you're on, editing, searching, your history,

and more.

A link to all the shorts will be listed in the info box below.

For blind or visually impaired users, you can have the ability to change the font, font

size, and colour.

So if there's a font or a colour that you see better than others, you'll be able to

use that feature to your advantage.

Background colour can also be changed.

Also for blind or visually impaired users, as well as those who may be learning disabled,

you may be using a ScreenReader which allows text on the computer screen to be read to you.

This is why you might see some of us on social media writing a caption explaining what the

picture is.

I know some people have been very confused by my captions on Instagram.

I've been asked, "Why are you writing what the picture is when we can see it?"

My blind friends are the reason.

Anyway, so Firefox has a list of ScreenReader software it works with which includes VoiceOver,

Proloquo, WebAnywhere, and Screen Reader Add-ons for Firefox.

Also, the Zoom option which makes web pages bigger is there if you need it.

More detailed information about the things I just talked about will be available in the

info box below.

Accessibility on the internet is very important and I'm glad to see that Firefox not only

has accessibility features, but has what their accessibility features are listed so you don't

have to play the guessing game in order to figure it out.

be talking about freezes oscar-worthy

performance in Dragon Ball super episode

107 I was so pissed off by that pink

whale I actually skipped my episode

review this week but the freezer segment

was really cool he played frost so good

it was fun to watch freeze I was like

yeah I see you're a cunt

but I'm the master of all the cunts

Gohan also did quite well as a

supporting actor like cruel and pointed

out at the end although all this was

cool to watch it wasn't really

surprising because the week before most

of us also predicted that Frieza will

not really cheat for multiple reasons

even plot wise making him turn this

Harley wasn't gonna make any sense

either in my previous video someone

asked why free suggestion eliminate

frost right away it's not like Frost is

stronger and he had to be created in

order to be caught off guard I mean yeah

I see how they gave the audience as a

fun time trying I guess if Frieza was

gonna cheat for real

but that's external what's the reasoning

within the plot well a simple one it's

just the way Frieza plays it is his

style of getting shit done but another

reason could be Frieza

initially did consider frost since his

from his race but was annoyed by how

weak frost is people keep forgetting

that Frost is actually a really weak

character he was knocked out by a single

punch from Super Saiyan Vegeta so he was

a poor representation of freezes race

could it be possible that Frieza

actually wanted to kill Frost but it

wasn't possible under the tournament

rules so he triggered frost to such an

extreme level that he would try to

attack him even after getting eliminated

and Frieza counted on Zeno should do the

rest that would be one hand way of doing

things of Frieza also this was able to

catch his Eno's attention Frieza is a

character with many motives you never

know what he's trying to do maybe he

even has plans regarding Zeno like he

certainly try

do something with the gods he expressed

his interest about that

anyways that's a topic for another video

now the question is after what happened

in the last episode is it now safe to

trust Frieza for this battle royale at

least well what I can say is Frieza is

someone who you can trust to not be an

idiot and it is in the best interest of

Frieza himself to not betray universe 7

in this battle royale the bottom line

Frieza is too smart to do anything

against universe sevens interest in the

battle realm and thus he can be trusted

for now like Frieza could overflow with

emotions keep working with frost just

because he's from his race and just

because he wanted revenge on the Saiyans

but he didn't do that because he's not

dumb firstly Frost was really weak and

the only person to get any benefit from

this partnership would be frost and his

universe which does absolutely no good

to Frieza besides if Frieza was to get

annihilated from existence forever even

defeating the Saiyans had two minutes of

glory wouldn't be great at all so all

this would more or less remain the same

till the end of the battle for Frieza

ensuring the victory of universe 7 would

be the best course of action for him he

might plot evil stuff afterward but I

don't really think he will turn against

you 7 in the background that's the

likely outcome however if it does it

could be at the very end if he is in a

position where he is sure to win the

super Dragon Balls and super Dragon

Balls are even capable of killing a god

of destruction although unlikely it

could probably even harm the great

priest or xenos who knows countless

possibilities a lot will depend on that

do you think there's any possibility

that Frieza might actually have a real

change of heart and become a genuine

good guy restless like an antihero

historically goku and the gang turned

some of the evilest guys into

good the takeaway from saying saga was

Vegeta from cell saga Android 17 and 18

from bull soccer majin buu and so on

even some of the previous characters are

coming back and starting to turn like

the pilaf gang now they've already

encountered Frieza

multiple times Goku did give him a

chance on a mech and this was more than

good enough for someone like Frieza for

Goku to even give him any kind of

opportunity so do you think Frieza might

end up becoming a different person

he might not become as good as Vegeta or

piccolo has become but he could be

better that how we currently know him I

surely would not expect him to live on

earth that would be super weird and in a

way we're in the character entirely I

would rather have him live somewhere

else and up here occasionally like he

did for the tournament of power also we

have seen him as the bad guy I don't see

him adding any unique value if he were

to appear again as the same he is

however having all that same I

personally don't think Frieza the

emperor of evil will become a good guy

or anything of that sort but I'm really

eager to see what he's trying to do with

the gods

what kind of master plan had developed

for the time like Littlefinger sees

chaos is a ladder Frieza is just trying

to create chaos and might be able to

find a ladder for himself among all that

and impact all the gods there's a pole

capture all of the amazing things that can happen when you take a few weeks to travel

abroad as a teen.

Case in point, high school study abroad is a pretty awesome experience.

And one we'd recommend to just about any teen with an eye towards the world.

So we're here to answer ALL of your FAQs about high school study abroad.

And tell you a little bit about our own experiences as modern globetrotters.

I'm Gabriella Comp, I'm graduating in 2020 and I went on a service learning trip

to Ecuador for 11 days.

Hi, I'm Michael, I graduated in 2017 and I traveled abroad to Brazil in high school.

My name is Maria Peden, I'm graduating in the year 2021 and I've been to 38 countries

in Asia, Australia, North America, and Europe.

I'm Erin and I actually spent the summer between my junior and senior year

of high school in New Zealand.

Because if we can do it, you can do it too.

So, how do you FIND high school study abroad programs anyway?

We got a lot of stuff in the mail.

Like, a lot.

There were dozens of brochures, all with amazing photos that I was just DYING to take myself.

I didn't even know people still made catalogs? But here they were, stuffing our mailbox.

And, I had a couple people come talk to us in class at my high school.

They were really, really cool, and definitely inspired my wanderlust.

So, (then) we hit the interwebs!

Yeah, I went online and compared all of the different programs.

I checked out their websites and DUH, their Instagram accounts.

Once I started sifting through the bells and whistles,

I really zeroed-in on some pretty awesome experiences.

Reviews definitely helped me understand the differences and find *the one.*

What kinds of high school study abroad programs are there?

There are LOADS of awesome programs out there.

I was almost overwhelmed by all of the options.

There's teen volunteer abroad— great for understanding the complexities of

the world, doing some good while and having some fun,

while checking off those community service hours.

Then there's cultural immersion programs,

which focus on getting you up close and personal with your host culture.

If you never thought you'd learn the Haka...

Think again! (I'm not super great at it…)

Language immersion programs, because, let's face it,

Seniorita Porta is awesome, but a couple hours

of Spanish a week just isn't gonna cut it.

There are homestay programs, gap year programs,

GAP YE-AH!

Outdoor education programs full of trekking and camping.

And, you can even find short term jobs abroad for teens.

But, I guess the program I did ended up being a little combo of all of these.

When I was in Brazil in high school I studied Portuguese everyday at a Portuguese language academy.

My trip to Ecuador was a very rewarding volunteer trip that also allowed me to really enjoy myself.

I've volunteered in Jamaica, Costa Rica, and the Philippines.

I did get to live with a homestay.

I still keep in touch with my host family, they're incredible,

and I would really recommend opting into a program with a homestay option.

Tu t'es bom!

How long are high school study abroad programs?

Most of my friends travel in the summertime.

Especially if they, like, play basketball or do other extra-curriculars.

Summer is a really awesome time to travel.

You can go abroad for just a couple weeks in summer,

you can take your whole summer.

Usually, programs start in June and run through July or August.

You'd have to double check though.

And they go everywhere!

And, if you're a super bad@$%, you can do

a high school exchange or full year program,

where you're actually enrolling in a foreign high school.

These are pretty hardcore, but if you're gungho to truly be immersed and live abroad,

they're probably the right path.

I know I spent a summer abroad and I wish that I could've spent a semester or a whole year.

Getting buy-in from your parents is prrreeeettttty

essential when it comes to traveling as a teenager.

So how do you actually do it?

Make an in-depth powerpoint presentation.

It sounds really nerdy, but it works! I did it.

Write a formal letter? (Worked for me!)

Compile a list of your favorite celebrities and world leaders who ALSO studied abroad.

You know, like the Pope.

Last, but not least.

If all else fails,

you can always get on your hands and knees and...

beg them.

No, in actuality, our best advice for getting

mom and dad on board is to be transparent with your goals.

Ok, wait—the first step is to actually have goals.

And not like, frilly ones, like petting a koala or having a lit Snapchat.

(But let's face it, that's definitely going to happen).

But, serious goals, like you want to check out this type of work as a potential career path.

Show them how you plan to connect your travels

to bigger picture goals.

We're talkin' 'bout college!

This is a great time to show them and tell them

It's also important that you invite your parents into the planning process.

They want to be involved and support you, so let 'em!

Because, you know, they're your biggest fans.

They want you to succeed and they want what's best for you in life.

In fact, bragging is probably my favorite thing to do

when I come back home from a trip.

It was pretty fun to surprise my family and friends with the news that I was going to travel.

They all loved it and were super happy for me.

There were…My teachers,

my parents,

my friends' parents,

people from my church,

guidance counselors, college advisors,

employers—

I can only assume future employers are going to be really stoked to see that I've had this experience—

my volleyball coach,

my piano teacher,

the butcher,

the baker,

the candlestick-maker,

Kimmy Schmidt—actually, believe it or not,

my uncle,

(and) Barack-freaking-Obama.

I'm just kidding, I wish! Barack, if you're watching this...

I love you and I hope you're impressed that I studied abroad.

What about FOMO?

Pffffft. What about it?

I mean, okay. So, it is tough to be away from your friends

for a whole summer and that was probably one of the hardest parts for me.

But, it was still sooo worth it.

Studying abroad for a few weeks may feel like

dog years in time away from friends, but it's only a few weeks.

Plus, not that you don't have super cool friends, but like, you'll survive without

them and probably won't miss them NEARLY as much as you think you will.

(Sorry, Becky, it's just true! Still luv u tho.)

And, FOMO is in all in your head! There's going to be be plenty of things

to do, and parking lots to hang out in, and Snapchat streaks to start over when you return.

Plus… You can start NEW snapchat streaks with your study abroad buds!

SNAPCHAT STREAKS ACROSS OCEANS.

I did miss catching up with my friends all the time

but putting down my phone and just enjoying the trip was completely worth it.

Here's the big Q— Would you do it again?

ABSOLUTELY.

I would absolutely do it again. In fact, I would sign back up in a heartbeat.

Yeah! I would do it again. It was awesome!

I had a great time, learned a ton about Brazil and myself as a person.

I'd recommend it to anyone.

The memories I made and the experiences I had

just can't be had back home.

It solidified so much of where I want to go in life,

and I wouldn't have known that had I not

studied abroad in high school.

As fans of the hit series understand well, the show has a way of inciting some tears unexpectedly. Well, even Jimmy Dave the Sound Guy had a tough time holding back during an emotional scene between Kate (Chrissy Metz) and her brother, Randall (Sterling K.

Brown). As are many scenes on the show, this one was emotionally heavy as Kate confided in Randall, blaming herself for their fathers death.

Im the reason that dad died and you know it, she told him. However, the poignant moment was interrupted by the sound of mysterious sobs. Turns out, Dave couldnt keep it together. .

Take after take—upwards of 21 of them—Dave broke out into weeping, interrupting the actors and causing them to break character.
