Another 'amazing year' for relentless Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo was able to look back on an amazing season – again having helped Real Madrid to back-to-back UEFA Champions League titles and been voted man of the match after becoming the first player to score in three finals.

The Portuguese star scored the first and third goals of Madrids latest triumph in Cardiff – his first goal the clubs 500th in the UEFA Champions League – and was named man of the match by the UEFA technical observers, who chose him for his clinical and decisive finishing in an impressive Real Madrid team performance.

Ill go as far as I can, said Ronaldo. This season has been fantastic again – weve won the league and the Champions League.

The squad has been great, and its been good for me individually too. I prepared myself well for the final part of the season and I scored some important goals..

Ronaldo was presented with his award by Sir Alex Ferguson, his manager when Manchester United won the 2008 final, who described honouring his former charge as one of the best jobs Ive ever had.

Nine years on from that success over Chelsea in Moscow – in which Ronaldo also found the net – he is now 32 but showing few signs of slowing down: Im very happy, Im motivated and my age is just a number.

I feel like a young boy!.

The final margin of victory may have been comfortable, but Ronaldo said: It was a very even game. Juve played very well in the first half, created some opportunities, but in the second half Real Madrid were very impressive.

I think this has been the best second half weve had to a season. The Champions League is always hard to win, especially against a team which had let in only three goals so far this season.

Twelve goals in this continental campaign – including ten in the last five games – make Ronaldo the UEFA Champions Leagues top scorer for the fifth year in a row, and helped to add a third European triumph in four seasons to the Merengues newly captured Spanish Liga crown.

Again, I had an amazing season, he laughed. Me and my team-mates have done the double. The numbers dont lie. Im very happy – an amazing season, weve won trophies.

This is one of the best moments of my career – I have the chance to say this every year!.

AARON MOOY has become one of the most wanted men of the summer. The Manchester City star helped loan club Huddersfield to the Premier League this week.

Rex Features Aaron Mooy is wanted by Prem rivals after helping Huddersfield up on loan from Man city. The Terriers are keen to land the Aussie on a permanent deal.

But fellow Prem new-boys Brighton are also after the £10million-rated midfielder. And now Southampton have entered the race for the player, 26, who has never started a game for City.

The entrance of Southampton into the manhunt may be significant as City are also keen on their Dutch centre-half Virgil van Dijk and could offer Mooy in part-exchange.

Both Liverpool and Everton are hot on Van Dijk, who will be at the centre of a massive tussle in the coming weeks.

Rex Features Aussie midfielder Aaron Moy helped Huddersfield into the play-offs after penalty shootout wins over Sheffield Wednesday and Reading.

Rex Features Huddersfield want Aaron Mooy to stay but face stiff competition. However, Mooy is turning into a similar tug-of-war figure just days after helping the Terriers beat Reading in the Championship play-off final.

Huddersfield should have good news from Liverpool about a return for keeper Danny Ward, one of their play-off heroes.

The Terriers won their semi-final against Sheffield Wednesday on penalties and beat Reading in a shootout — with Ward making crucial saves in both.

I also went to the zoo.

There were so many animals.

It was such a fun day.

Hi once again all, and welcome to 'One

English Tip in One Minute for Speakers

of Indian Languages' (the many Indian

languages) where each week I talk about,

in detail, one common English mistake

made by people from India, and this is

video number 32.

As I'm very fond of saying, nice

going on working to improve your English.

It's a very smart, cool and practical

thing to do. In these videos I show

you a slide, and on the slide there are

two sentences: One is the correct way

that an English speaker would say it, the

other is the wrong way that many people

from India say it. Your job is to

decide which one is correct. Do that

now. Read the sentences, pause the video

(as you will almost certainly have to),

think about your answer and I will talk

about that answer -- the right answer -- in

the slide that follows this slide.

How did that go? Was it easy,

and you didn't have to think about it

very much...and you are sort of insulted

that I would need to ask you such a

question? If so, then it means you don't

have to study this very much. But if you

got it wrong -- or you happened to guess

right -- it means you do have to start

studying it. To start you off on that

path -- it's a very simple beginning -- but

I've given you some sentences you can

study from. Study the whole sentences,

review them -- really drill them into your

brain -- and put into practice what you've

learned through speaking or writing or

both. Just keep repeating that

process until that mistake is gone, and

you get this totally correct all the

time.
