Waching daily Jun 3 2017

It was a long hard winter. Lots of ice storms and big snowstorms

here in Skamania. I spent a lot of time inside. Had a heavy workload for my job

and it was good. I also gained a lot of weight, so I'm working on burning that

off. In the last chapter of searching for Austin Oldfield I said that I thought he

was still alive. I'm going to give you the reasons why I think he might be

alive and then some of the reasons why he might not be. First of all, several

people have said that they've seen him. Second of all, there was a viewer who's

kind of an online sleuth and was talking with some people from the rainbow family

and he had this conversation with them- he said, Hopefully he's among the family. And

the person responding said, He is no worries.

And this man responded, He is with your group of people? And about 30 minutes

later she said, Oh I misunderstood. Sorry. No word of him. This, the sleuth that was

looking into this said that he felt like she was trying to cover up, like she

realized she'd made a mistake and then went back on her word. And then the most

compelling reason that I think Austin is alive and is because his ex-wife, and

mother of two of his children, said that on July 29 she got a notice from Google+

and she shared an account with Austin and her daughter and they were the only

ones on the account, and she got a notification

saying that she got.... that... she... there was a video posted by Austin. The first one was

July 29 of 2016 and then the second one was September 14 of 2016. She commented

on both of those posts and said, Where are you. Please respond. We want to know

you're okay and you're safe. And there was no response. Then in

December those links were deleted. Sometimes online posts, or different

companies will put promotionals for, for movies and stuff, on your account I

haven't known Google+ to do that, and that's what makes me suspicious,, and also,

that they were deleted. And that is the number one reason why I think Austin

Oldfield is alive. The cons to that are: with this online

investigator said when he talked with one of the rainbow family members, it's

very likely that that could have just been an accidental slip of the tongue

that she did just honestly misunderstood so none of this is conclusive proof that

Austin Oldfield is alive. The biggest thing that doesn't fit with Austin still

being alive is that his disappearance doesn't fit the MO of most people that

disappear usually you'll just find their car and their stuff at the end of some

trail when they're trying to disappear. That's the last of you you hear of them.

But with Austin we found a few days later, after he was into his trip, some

people pick him up he's looking for water. That's really unusual and that

part is the biggest evidence I see for Austin still being out there in the

woods somewhere. To be honest with you the thought of him being alive

discourages me from looking for him anymore.

For some reason thinking that he posted on his Google account and then took it

down and that he's just one of those people that disappeared, I don't want to be

looking for somebody like that. A I don't have time to go out and

investigate across the country. There's somebody who thinks, says they saw him in

Tennessee. His sister, Austin's sister Pamela has said that she's gotten a lot

of false alarms of people that would claim they've seen Austin.

It's all speculation. A lot of people say when they read my... watch my videos, that

you're projecting a lot on Austin and that's really true, and that's not what I

enjoy, actually. I want to try to just know enough to know where to look for

him or where to look for the missing person, and to be honest that's getting

kind of tedious for me going off in that direction and even trying to investigate

in the tri-cities where people claimed... it's a long ways way... and I just don't

have the time to go out to those places and invest in that kind of a search.... OK

let me just say, a few months ago I got news that Austin had posted on his

Google+ account and at first I was... that made me about 80 percent sure that he

was alive. Then when I recorded the video that you were just watching, I was about

50/50 in my decision about whether Austin was alive or no, because I

thought maybe these ads were just... or these posts were just automatic ads

placed.... and so I emailed Austin's ex and asked her what the content was and she

responded by saying, "The first one was called Lemon Tree Passage. It was a link

to a B movie about some kids whose car broke down in the woods and an evil

spirit is getting them. Yeah it creeps me out too but it was a b-movie he loved

those I think it was Australian the second was a kids movie Ice Age I think.

When I think about it, it was in French. I don't have a clue. I was totally thrown

for a loop. This was on the Google+ that he had set up with me and my daughter on

her tablet. He would send her messages or message stickers he would send her

messages. I don't know at first I thought it was just that it had just been hacked

or that maybe some one was messing with his iPad, but that's in police evidence

right??? We were only there we were the only three connected. We have no other

people on this account. I will send you a screenshot,

but not home right now." and so far she hasn't sent me a screenshot. When I got

that response it really changed my mind about whether or not

Austin was alive or whether I believe he is... and I do believe he is... and I'm about

98 percent sure because those video links were so specific.

I believe that Austin is suffering from some sort of psychotic break possibly

brought on by drug abuse. There's different things in life... stress genetics

drug abuse or drug use can lead to altered states of mind that are

permanent and I believe that something like that happened to Austin that is

making him experience delusions hallucinations and paranoia and that

he's most likely still alive. And here's why I think that that is the case for

him. First of all, one of his friends posted on his sister's Facebook page

that, um, they were sad to hear about Austin and that I thought it was odd

when he was visiting that he would often take drugs, and I think possibly had

taken drugs, he or she, I could... don't remember if it was a male or female,

couldn't get him to come into the house because he was chasing mystical creatures.

Also the people who dropped him off at the lake said he was chasing a red balloon

with a magical ship under it. He also left his iPod wrapped in tinfoil in his

car, and that's how they the police found it, which doesn't make sense because he

was smart. He was tech savvy. If he was really trying not to let people track

him he could have... it's harder on an iPad... but you could remove the battery or

completely leave it behind or somewhere else. Wrapping in tinfoil isn't really a

logical solution... so there's that. I think that that's the paranoia I see in it. And

then the video he sent, I believe like I said before, of these kids whose car

broke down out in the wild and then he was haunted or they were haunted... it's so

parallel to his... and I mean, his battery was dead and so he was kind of trapped

out there.... and, uh. I believe he was kind of on a

Vision Quest like I thought in the first place, but I think he was so far past

being able to save himself and pull himself back in from these delusions

that it also explains to me why he didn't just leave. He wasn't necessarily

trying to disappear, at first, or even at all, because people like that will kind

of stay connected here and there. You hear from them every once in a while.

It's not just a straightforward- I'm trying to disappear. They're just trying

to disappear from their fears and their hallucinations this is very similar,

like I've said before, to one of viewers that sent in, and said that their brother had

disappeared in the same way. Abandoned their car at a forest service trail and

then they he turned up about three months later when he was arrested for

arson, and that he disconnected the family because they he thought that they

were after him too. Also, in my personal experience, I had a woman contact me,

my business, wanting me to create a documentary for her about downloading

top... well... it was basically about this evil organization that was worldwide and

they were downloading documents to her brain and she wanted to expose them for

who they were but she wouldn't give me her full contact. She would only call me

and she wouldn't give me an email address or a phone number or a mailing

address because the police could track her down, or not the police, this

Authority. However she did have a website and a phone number.

and she sent me some of the documents that had been downloaded to her brain

and they were kind of just gibberish and tons... like directions and

receipts, but in somebody's mind that is going through this... those things all make

sense, perfect sense, and although they're just jumbled facts to the rest of us.

And this woman called me several times. I talked with her at length.

And to me.... the similar... their experiences are so similar and the things that she

was talking about in the fear, it's so similar to what I... I see... these little

fragments from Austin. I could be wrong I'm not a professional.

He hasn't been evaluated, but from my life experience, that's I'm saying. That's

what I feel happened and I'm about 98% sure or, you know, they're about. Because of

that I am going to switch gears a bit and start searching for somebody else.

And that doesn't mean I'm not going to keep looking for Austin and, there will

be future chapters on searching for Austin Oldfield as well, but for me I want

to expand a little bit more about who I'm looking for.

And I've thought about several of the different options of people have gone

missing here in the county, and there are a number of high profile cases, but the

ones that are a little bit more quiet, uh, are more interesting to me ,and that's

why what I am going to focus on next is the story of a winter storm that came up

here in Skamania County in 2013, I believe, in at the end of September and

it was a bad storm. Unexpected heavy heavy rain. Four people went missing.

Heavy rain in the valleys and snow in the mountains, and when the

search-and-rescue team was out is raining so hard they had trash can out

and it filled up I believe within 24 hours with water. All of those people

were found except for one. One man who'd been out with a friend and they were

going to be meet back in just a few minutes... and nobody has heard anything

from him since. And it takes place out in the big lava bed which is also a

fascinating area to me.

It's unexpected. You don't even notice it until you get into it and then it's

almost like being in a cross between a desert and a maze. I hope you all join me

as I begin a new story the story of the search for Christopher Ziztewitz.

-------------------------------------------

Adjusting Your Subwoofer Gain For More Dynamics, Kick, and Oomph! (use subtitles if it's too quiet) - Duration: 10:07.

okay guys today I want to do a video on subwoofer gain and this may seem like

kind of a simple video but actually I've learned a lot about the gain

issue and how it reacts in different subs, so this will be

kind of specific to the SVS products, but I think it will carry over depending

on how flat your subs response is and all that kinda stuff

but anyway I guess I'll point this more towards SVS products but again how much

this will translate depends on your particular setup, but one of the

things I want to talk about is where you set this dial at, okay? Now I

did a video about apartments and how if you run your gain a little bit lower and you turn the AVR gain up on

your amplifier for the subs you know, you'll get a little less bleed over

in the next room and stuff like that and basically you're limiting the

amplifier and so that's good for people that want to run a little less you know

they want to be a little more considerate for the neighbors. Now you don't want to do

this too much because if you crank the AVR, like you know, at a positive eight

and then you turn this way down you can get some amplifier clipping and stuff

like that. So generally in my opinion you want to keep your AVR subwoofer trim at

0.0 or lower. Now the trick, at least in my experience, I don't know how

many of you guys can tell me different, but what I found is that the higher you

run the gain, okay so you turn it up, and then the lower you run the AVR trim to

compensate to get it back to the same balance, the more dynamics you get out of

your subs and so it's... the bass hits stronger it's more powerful you're

giving the amplifier more room to work I guess

is one way to look at it. And so you know for me at the time right now you can see

I've got the PB-16 over there, and again this kind of this varies because you

know the the PB-16 Ultra has a range goes from -60 to 0 and so

it's a different scale than this. Like on the PB-2000 you know

I've run at about 60 to 65 % gain where is on this it's -13, so

it's kind of a different scale. But anyway... by the way, having this remote for

the PB-16 Ultra, it's kind of cool and one of the reasons it's cool is because

you point to this sub that'll turn this sub up, you point to that sub turn that set

up, so it's kind of directional it seems like it has a narrow beam. I don't know

if that's a happy accident or what, but it allows me...you can see...

I can just change the sub going up and down. So I've been able to

really experiment with this whole idea, and indeed the higher I run the gain

on the subs, the more powerful the bass is overall. If I run it down

lower, the bass is softer. It's... you can still have it balanced, but it's just a

matter of how how hard that impact is when you have an explosion or something

like that. So...and one of the drawbacks to running your sub gain higher and your

AVR lower is that you can have a problem with triggering, and that's when your sub

is auto on or auto off. If you... like right now I have my amplifier (subwoofer trim) at

-10.0, so it's really Rocking! So you know, that means that less

signal is going to the subwoofer to actually trigger it to turn on. Now I

haven't had an issue with the SVS subs they're trigger on is pretty good and

pretty sensitive, so it hasn't been an issue for me. But this is where I talk

about other subs where you may not have the same good response when it comes to

running the AVR (Subwoofer) trim lower and your subwoofer gain

higher, it may cause triggering issues with your subs Auto on feature so you

may have your subs turning off in the middle of a movie or something.

And that can happen if you have a real quiet movie anyway,

but you know it can happen more with running your gain higher on the sub and

AVR (subwoofer) trim lower on the amplifier. So I just want to kind of give you guys my

perspective on and how I see it. Because when I crank up, you know, the

subwoofer gain and turn it down on the AVR, you know... get it balanced to the

same level. Because I don't listen to it you know... the PB-16 Ultras are

not... I don't listen to it that much louder than before, it's just the bass is

stronger when it comes at you, it hits you harder you feel it more in your body as

opposed to the PB-2000's.

I'll go more into that when I do the full review of the PB-16 Ultra. But anyway,

you know, having that remote and everything has really allowed me to mess

around a lot easier. Because... you know there's another thing I should talk

about is, when you're setting your gain, is that you want to have, particularly

when you're running duals, you're going to want to have, you know, your volumes

probably going to be different on this sub, compared to that one. So on this sub

I run -13 at the moment, and on the sub over there it's -16.

I think that has something to do with corner loading. It seems to

put out more, like it's folding the bass wave... anyway. So, you have two level match.

So, for me to go in behind these subs every time, and turn it up turn down

without having it really matched was kind of the pain. So I did it a couple

times and I was able to really kind of figure it out. But having it to where I

could, you know, do it from my chair and make all the adjustments very quickly

it really kind of sealed the deal for me as far as the whole gain issue. And so...

that part has helped, you know having the remote has really helped, and as far as

figuring that out. But really if you're looking for more oomph out of your subs

and you're only running your subwoofer trim at, say -3...

you can try giving your subs a little more gain and taking it down on the AVR. Now

of course there are caveats here. If your subs start complaining because they're

putting out too much power and they're starting to make bad noises, well then

you need to back it down. If you just turn your gain up

and don't compensate for the AVR subwoofer trim, then it's just going to

be way too much bass. So it's not going to be as good that way. So, you know, with

each adjustment you've got to dial it back in. You know, I like listening to

like Norah Jones and stuff like that to get to the bass dialed in to the right

level. So that helps me. By the way, something I found recently is

Metallica's "Lords of Summer" I've been using that a lot more to get the subs

dialed in. I don't know, I really like the way it kicks, and for me when I

have it adjusted right, it provides plenty of kick, but it's not too much... I

don't know, for some reason that song has a really balanced, in such a

way that it allows me to make the adjustments a lot easier and a lot

quicker. So maybe I should go into a video about how I do that too? But anyway

I just wanted to that quick video on adjusting the subwoofer gain. I'm curious

what you guys think. You know particular people that are playing different subs I

know that if you've got a sub that doesn't have a great amplifier, you

might be pushing it to that extreme but I don't know I'm curious what you guys

think and what your experience is. If you turn up the gain on the sub and turn down the AVR

trim, do you get more dynamics? I sure did.

And I actually measured it. I stuck a microphone in the garage and by

turning down the the gain and turning up the AVR trim, I

got less bleed over into the garage. So that's where I came up the whole thing

as far as the apartment video goes. But going the opposite direction for people

that want more, which is a lot more fun, you know cranking up the gain. Now

another thing too, if you're using something like a mini DSP 2x4 to get

your subs dialed in... that tends to take out some of the gain, and so you have to

run your gain higher on your subs to get the same amount output. Because the way

,as I understand it, a 2X4 (MiniDsp 2x4) works it basically works by shaving off

response rather than adding to it I mean it does out a little to it if you do

that but generally it's going to take some of the signal away so you have to

run your gain a bit higher and what I found is when I tried it on these is I

had to run the game almost as public 75% from what I recall yeah it was about

about there so that's what I had to run on to get the same amount of output in

the same balance when running the 2x4 so again there's all these caveats to go

with all this but from my experience at least with the subs I've been working

with the higher you run the gain on the subwoofer itself the more dynamics you

get out of it so curious what you guys think let me know and please subscribe

50 HUGELY CURIOUS ELEPHANT FACTS FOR INTERNATIONAL ELEPHANT IN ZOOS DAY! - Duration: 7:03.

Welcome back!

Today the whole world should think about elephants in honor of International Elephant in Zoos

day and to kick things off – here are 50 hugely curious facts about the world's largest

land mammal – the elephant!

Now, just looking at an elephant tells you its heavy but how heavy is truly stunning.

An African Bull Elephant can stand up to thirteen feet tall and weigh 13,000 to more than 16,000

pounds.

That's more than some mobile homes!

The tusks alone are huge with a males pair able to weigh more than 440 pounds.

Tusks aren't just heavy though – they're useful.

Elephants use them as shovels, rippers, scrapers and weapons.

Curiously, scientists believe that elephants can be right or left tusked just like humans

are right or left handed.

Elephant's ears are another cool part, literally!

They will often flap them in an effort to keep cool which is super important because

elephants don't have any sweat glands but that's not the most awesome thing.

An elephants ear, which can be about six feet by four feet can weigh up to 100 pounds and

some elephants will heave them forward to nearly quadruple the size of their head making

them look super scary.

The trunk is pretty awesome too!

It can grow as long as seven feet long and weigh up to 500 pounds but for all that, the

trunk is a delicate part of the elephant used to touch and stroke as well as slap depending

on the elephants need.

See, the elephant's trunk contains 40,000 muscles.

The human being only has 639 muscles in their entire body.

All those muscles mean the trunk is able to lift three hundred pound trees out of the

way or pluck delicate and tiny treats with equal efficiency.

The trunks also a good snorkel.

The elephant's nostrils are located on the tip of their trunk and they can use it to

smell, breath and even draw water.

I said earlier that the elephants sense of smell is better than any other creatures but

I didn't tell you that the elephant can even smell water form up to twelve miles away!

That's really far.

See, elephants like water.

In fact they swim and actually snorkel like humans using their trunks to breath as they

wander along underwater.

They can also use their trunk to hold water, with the asian elephant being able to carry

over two gallons of water in its trunk.

Speaking of water – elephants drink a lot!

The adult elephant needs more than forty two gallons of water every sing day.

That's actually not very much when you consider that they also need about 660 pounds of food!

Imagine – that would be like you eating more than two thousand six hundred quarter

pounders every single day!

***Of course, with all that food, its no surprise that elephants pooh – a lot.

In fact, the average adult elephant makes up to eighty pounds of pooh each and every

day!

Elephant dung is actually a benefit to farmers given that it often contains enough seeds

to plant about 2,000 new plants each and every day which is estimated to be enough for a

240 acre farm!

Plants aren't the only thing elephants do with their pooh.

If you are thirsty – all that elephant pooh can be put to good use making you a nice,

relaxing cup of Black Ivory coffee.

In Thailand, a herd of 20 elephants are being urged to pooh and pooh lots to make the latest

and greatest new coffee.

That's right – coffee!

Arabic beans are hand picked then mixed with rice and fruits before being fed to the herd.

Once inside the acids in the elephants stomach break down the proteins that cause the bitter

flavor in some coffee.

After that, a reaction in the elephant's gut helps to ferment these beans with the

fruits and sugars giving the coffee a unique, earthy-fruit like flavor that will cost you

a bit more than $35.00 a serving.

Don't' worry about the elephants getting over caffeinated.

Apparently the founder of this unique coffee business had a veterinarian run blood tests

to show that the elephants don't absorb any caffeine during the process.

TO my knowledge, no one has figured out a good use for elephant urine yet, but they

do produce about thirteen gallons each day so I'm sure someone will think of something

soon.

Okay – on to something less weird.

It's also said that elephants can hear each other's trumpeting calls as much as five

miles away!

That's some long distance communication.

You probably wouldn't hear much of those long distance calls though because elephant

long-distance communication uses a combination of sounds that are too low for human ears

to hear.

Of course, it also includes foot stomping and you might notice something that huge stomping

around!

Elephants also have eyes located on the sides of their head to give them good peripheral

vision so that they can see things heading their way from the sides or behind.

Those eyes also have long eyelashes and a third eyelid that acts like a windshield to

protect the eye's when the elephant feeds, swims or dusts itself.

They can also smell each other since the African elephant is said to have the best sense of

smell of any creature in the animal kingdom.

****That's important since female elephants usually live in herds of about ten and share

babysitting duty.

If you've ever had to babysit you know when your shift is over, you want to locate the

alternate sitter quickly!

Male elephants are usually more solitary than females and usually don't take part in the

baby sitting duty at all.

Elephants also have two curious features.

The first is that elephants are the only mammal other than humans to have a chin!

Not a jaw but a real, actual chin.

That's kind of cool.

Then there are the feet.

Elephants actually have four toes but you cannot see them because they have large gristle

pads under each heel that helps to absorb the enormous shock of holding up all that

weight.

Given that massive weight, its no surprise that elephants always have at least two feet

on the ground holding them up even when they walk or run.

What is a surprise is that if you peeped inside those gristle pads, you'd see the elephant

walks on its tip toes.

All the time!

However, elephants aren't as tough as one would think.

They actually have incredibly think skin and can get sunburned.

That's the reason you sometimes catch elephants rubbing sand on themselves – sand is the

elephant's version of sunscreen!

Its no surprise that elephants figured out sunscreen since they have the largest brain

of any land animal.

It actually weights about eleven pounds which makes it nearly four times the weight of a

human brain!

That big brain allows the elephant to feel a wide-range of emotions including humor,

cooperation, and playfulness.

Even fear.

Of all things, elephants are also afraid of teensy tiny bees!

And of course they are smart.

In fact elephants are so smart, they have passed the mirror test which means they can

recognize themselves in the mirror.

Most animals can't so that alone makes the elephant very impressive!

Elephants go much further than self-recognition though.

Elephants can tell the difference between men and women and even between different ethnicities

of human beings.

Next time you see an elephant think about that big brain and then consider that the

elephant brain actually contains three times the number of neurons as a human beings and

scientists have no idea why the elephant isn't smarter than the human.

Or is it?

Now click subscribe because I'll be back tomorrow with some new, curious facts to share.

In the meantime, if you know something curious, tell me about it.

Maybe I can put it into a video.
