5 Tips in 5 Minutes for Keyboard Shortcuts for After Effects CC - Duration: 4:14.

Hey guys Flat Pack FX here and

welcome to five tips in five minutes

with me Flat Pack.

All right so people are always asking me

for tips to speed up their workflow so

in this video I'll be expanding on our

keyboard shortcuts with quick keys to

speed up your workflow now I also

guarantee that most of you will learn a

few new shortcuts so stick around to the

end tip number one the basics some of

you may laugh at these but time and time

again I still get people asking for

these basic keyboard shortcuts just

simply using these basic shortcuts will

save you a heap of time in the long run

so if you learn nothing else learn these

now if you press command S that will

save your project command Z will undo

your last action command D will

duplicate your layer and the spacebar

will play through your timeline now I

always make an effort to avoid using

shortcuts in my tutorials to give you

the best possible chance to follow along

but hopefully after this video you'll be

so good you can just follow along just

fine tip number 2 layer properties

you're going to find yourself constantly

adjusting these things here your layer

properties now to save time from

manually adjusting them one at a time

you can simply use the corresponding key

for short quick access he is for

position S is for scale R is for

rotation and t is for opacity tip number

three keyframes key frames again is

another fundamental part of operating

After Effects so to save time here's

some fast keyframe keys to simply create

a keyframe first move to your desired

position and then hit option and the

corresponding property care you desire

so if I hit option in P this will create

a keyframe for my position property if

you also select the keyframe and hit f9

on your keyboard

you can quickly change your keyframe to

easy ease to quickly pull up keyframes

you can simply tap you to bring up

keyframes for that particular layer and

also if you double tip you it will bring

up all the changes for that layer tip

number four timeline so After Effects is

built around using a Windows grid-based

layout so this means you can

expand and move windows around as you

desire now did you know if you select a

particular window you're working on and

hit the tilde key this will expand that

selected window to be full screen

another two useful keys for when working

inside your timeline is to create an in

and out point for your composition if

you tap B on your keyboard you can

create an endpoint and if you tap n you

can create an endpoint tip number five

here's some of my favorites so here are

some of my favorites I've left them till

last if you select a layer at a certain

point and hit command shift D this will

split your layer but you can also chop a

layer quickly by hitting option in this

key to chop the beginning and this key

to chop the end you can also quickly pre

compose a layer by first selecting your

layer and then hitting command shift C

you can also replace layers in the

timeline by holding the option key and

dragging that new layer on top you can

also hit option shift H to toggle hide

mask and shape path visibility another

useful tip is if you hit the command

option and home key this will quickly

reposition the anchor point to the

center of that layer so that's five

quick tips for optimizing your workflow

Hello, this is Enna.

I filmed Kid's singing festival before.

I try new recording setup.

And result was ok.

So I'll tell you about it.

I'll show you some footage.

It would be better take headphone or earphone on.

Find differences.

You may find differences A between B.

I just add some recording eqipment in stage.

It makes differences.

So I'll show you my setup.

Setting A is SONY NX100 and ECM-XM1 shotgun mic only.

Recording with this shotgun mic.

I was about 15~20m far from stage.

It collects straighten sounds but can not block all ambient noise like people talking.

If loud talking people is near camera. It suffers me throughout filming.

Event hall's situation is not like my mind.

I thought I could record all sounds with mixer master output.

But sound was seperated and could not record at once. I tried but half of sound was recorded.

Same situation now.

And there were many people but stage's mic gathers just kid's voice front of mic.

So I used setting B.

It's not expensive or enormous thing.

This one.

As you know, it's Zoom H1 stereo recorder.

I installed this behind smile ballon.

This recorder did not record directivity sound, so I merged shotgun mic(ecm-xm1)'s sound little and keep balanced.

It's a stereo mic so I installed it on the stage and it makes singer's sound louder and ambient noise lesser.

I'll use this setting next time.

I have more expensive recorder like Zoom H5,

But it's not safe far from me.

Someone can hit or destroy recorder.

Zoom H1 is sturdy, cheap and have nice recording quality.

So I used it and it makes good result.

It may record unexpected footstep sound

But it makes good result better than shotgun mic only.

I wanted to show you this output.
