LOVE Island's Marcel has hinted that the show is staged and producers tell islanders what to say. - Duration: 3:33.

Love Island came under fire recently after former islander Tyla Carr suggested that the show is "staged" and bosses told contestants what to say and made them re-film scenes to make things more entertaining

While the ITV2 dating show refuted claims that scenes were fake, branding them "completely untrue", Tyla's co-star Marcel Somerville has now also come forward, further hinting that things aren't completely as they seem

Speaking on talkRADIO, Marcel hinted that during his 2017 series, producers played a key part in encouraging conversations between contestants, and telling them what to discuss when the cameras were rolling

"Say, for instance, there's been a drama going on and you've had an argument with someone, the producers will say to you, 'can you two go and talk about your situation and get everything cleared up?'," he explained

"They'll say to you, "can you have a chat?" but they'll have it so they can shoot the chat

"They're only doing it so the cameras catch everything that needs to be caught

Marcel's allegations echo Tyla's, after she shocked fans when she revealed to the Daily Star Sunday: "What viewers don't see is there is always a producer on site, they don't live in the villa with us but someone generally comes in every hour to have a chat

"They tell you what they want you to talk about, and who with.  "You have to tell the producers on site if you are planning to have an important chat or do something, so they make sure the microphones pick it up and the cameras get it, if you forget they would call you in and ask you to film it again

"   Whilst Tyla hastily added that the villa residents were never asked to do anything they didn't want to do, the reality TV star continued: "Basically, if you've had three separate conversations with someone they may ask you to have the conversation again all in one go to make it better viewing

"  The brunette beauty even alledged that Olivia Attwood had to dump her partner at the time, Sam Gowland twice so that ITV bosses could capture it on screen, branding the re-run as "embarrassing"

Responding to allegations, ITV added: "The opinions they have and the relationships formed are completely within the control of the Islanders themselves
