Alliance for Understanding Re-Traces Civil Rights History in the South - Duration: 4:18.

- When you feel like you can't do anything,

go pick up that rock and hold it in your hand,

and take from it the strength

of the ordinary people who stood on that rock.

- [Briana] When we were at Brown Chapel A.M.E.,

Joanne Bland took us to...

a park that is attached to the housing development.

- And she had us all pick up a stone

that's from right around there as this...

as this ... this little piece,

this weight that we were supposed

to carry with us to remind us.

- And she's going through

the history, so to speak,

in our hands by saying,

"This was Julian Bond's stone."

"This is a stone that he was standing on

when the Civil Rights Movement took flight."

"This is my stone."

- Just to keep it with us

to remember ... standing ...

in the grounds of where these incredible activists stood.

- [Briana] And so that whenever we felt like we needed

an extra push to do the right thing

or the extra push to speak up,

we would always have the stone nearby.

- The students start to embody that piece of history.

So, "I'm carrying this rock, this little rock from

the ground, I'm carrying this rock

and it's John Lewis's rock."

Nobody throws their rock down afterward.

(contemplative piano instrumental)

- [Naomi] There's just something really powerful about going

to where history happened to understand what it means.

It really just brings a new level of understanding.

Change happened by real people or students

and it's really empowering to think that...

It's just, it's not necessarily so different

from what you could potentially do,

but you need to be able to create that.

- [Valerie] What they get from the program is a real ...

opportunity to delve deeply into ...

pieces of this history.

It's not a course for credit,

so we can't promise sort of a comprehensive read

on the history of the Civil Rights Movement,

but what we can do is give them

some real ... deep understanding

of little pieces of the movement.

- [Briana] For me, really, it was a moment to reflect

and to understand how powerful...

driven ...

and sacrifice-oriented you have to be

in order to affect change.

And there were moments where I cried,

there were moments where I felt an intense sense of pride,

there were moments where sometimes it just felt surreal

that, you now

It goes from being history

and this just abstract idea about Civil Rights

and a boycott and sit-ins to...

going to the museum

and sitting in the simulation of what

the sit-ins would be like and I cried.

I don't think that I would have been that person.

I could cry now.

I don't think I would be that person.

It just made me very grateful.

- [Valerie] Many Penn students are not history majors,

but they want to understand a little bit

about their country's history and they want

to also be able to think about,

"Well ... if this happened

for people in the not-so-distant past,

what might I be able to do?"

So, the other thing that they gain from

the program is an ability to think about

their own role as change agents.

- [Briana] Something that really touches me personally

as a black woman in a very...

in a predominately white space is a simple fact that

anti-Blackness, anti-Semitism, Islamophobia,

homophobia and all the -isms and phobias

that you can think of,

are and have been prevalent for a very long time.

And so, when I went on this trip

it really wasn't just about that specific moment in time.

It was about the simple fact that

the work that was done then is not far off

from the motivation for the work that needs to be done now.

Gold Prices Alert Why New Target of $2,500 for Gold Is Very Close - Duration: 2:46.

It has been a very good year for gold so far, with gold prices up about nine percent year-to-date.

But I believe that the biggest gains for gold are still ahead, with a target price of $2,500

an ounce by the end of this decade.

It's more than possible.

Factors Behind Gold Prices Going up

At the core of the issue, gold prices tend to move higher because of three main factors:

uncertainty (political or economic); inflation; and currency devaluation.

And, as it stands, all three of these factors are currently in gold's favor.

Gold could be one of most undervalued and ignored assets right now.

7 Areas of Concern Affecting Gold

Here are just seven current areas of concern: 1.

The Middle East is becoming more divided with each passing day;

2.

The future of U.S.–China relations and the future of North Korea's nuclear program

are unclear; 3.

Brexit's impact on the European economy is uncertain;

4.

In terms of monetary policy disparity, the U.S. Federal Reserve is raising interest rates

while other major central banks continue to keep rates low and print more paper money;

5.

The U.S. Congress has been unable to get any meaningful legislation passed;

6.

If it were not for the Federal Reserve raising interest rates, the U.S. dollar would be in

a free fall; and 7.

All those trillions of dollars that the Fed printed to "save the economy" after the

credit crisis of 2008 will come back to haunt us in the form of rapid inflation.

Yes, the performance of gold prices this year has beaten the performance of the Dow Jones

Industrial Average (DJIA).

We need to keep in mind, however, that the increases in interest rates by the Federal

Reserve (three rate hikes so far since December 2016) have actually been good for gold prices.

And I can't see why the Fed's proposed two additional rate increases for the rest

of 2017 wouldn't also be good for gold.

A Great Year for Gold & Gold Stocks

No investment ever goes up in a straight line.

Yes, gold will have its ups and downs this year.

But, with decreasing supply and increasing demand for the commodity (see: "India: What

Is It Doing With All That Gold?"), it will be a great year for gold.

With all this in mind, I continue to see the shares of quality junior and senior gold producers

as a bargain at their current "cheap" prices.

Rabbi Jason Kimelman-Block & Rev. Dr. William Barber Pray for Justice at US Capitol - Duration: 2:04.

>>Rabbi Jason Kimelman-Block:

Let us pray.

>>Rev. Dr. William Barber:

If you can kneel and you want to,

don't hurt yourself.

However you want to do in your tradition.

>>Rabbi Jason Kimelman-Block:

Eternal one, we ask for your strength,

for your wisdom,

and for your mercy

to flow through each and every one of us

in this circle, in the outer circle

in this city, and throughout this nation.

We are facing a very serious time,

very serious challenges.

We know that it will not be easy,

we know that this is a long, long road,

but we know that you are on the side of justice,

you are on the side of humans

everywhere who suffer.

We pray that your strength and your energy

will flow through us.

That you will give us the courage

to stand up to what is right,

to dismantle the walls of oppression

throughout this society,

and to build a just and holy society

as you have commanded us

through your prophets and in your scriptures.

We pray that this beautiful tapestry of people

who find many ways to you,

who call you by many names,

who have many ways of expressing

their connection to each other, to your creation,

to the universe, to the force that binds us all together.

That each of us recognize

that we are part of you

and through that recognition,

we know that we will overcome

all the forces of suffering and injustice.

Let us say amen.

[Crowd says "amen"]
