Hope is coming to fight drug addiction in Warren - Duration: 1:52.

Addiction cost Julia Wike a lot

in her life. She didn't know

there was help available

when she was addicted. She

recognizes that there is a major

drug

crisis now in Warren and

throughout the Mahoning Valley.

She's ready to provide help, one

woman at a time.

In the heart of Warren --- hope

is coming to fight drug

addiction.

God's Refuge House is getting

some final touches.

Wike was getting her first tour

of

the renovation taking place. The

rooms still need furniture and

final

touches, but she expects it to

be open in August.

Julia took ONE pill when in

junior high and got hooked. Her

addiction lasted until

she was saved from the streets

31-years ago.

She knows what it takes to

recover and that change is

possible.

enhance the city. we want to see

change in the city. Julia says

God's Refuge House will be a

family home, not a facility.

It will even serve people who

don't go to church. Two men on

the recovery road have done a

lot of the work.

life as well. the house is kinda

doing what it's

supposed to do already. it's

given so much meaning to what we

do.

The house will find a way to

teach women how to escape their

personal

addiction...individually and in

a group. It plans to address

the physical, mental

and spiritual issues....to

provide the hope the women need

to beat the addiction.

Ang buhay daw niya parang isang plato ng spaghetti yung noodles hindi alam kung san nagmula hindi niya alam saan patutungo and the boy says, "what does it all mean?"

Kung walang saysay ang buhay bakit ka pa mabubuhay di ba?

You have to find out the why in your life.

For me passion is loving every bit of what you are doing for yourself and for others.

Sa akin kasi ang teaching is learning, so kapag nagtuturo ka mapipilitan kang magaral.

so pag nag aral ka mas natuto ka sa iyong propesyon.

Being a teacher you would be, you will amass yourselves with richness of lives that cannot be held, cannot be put in the pocket

But these are things that are considered as ROI as changing touching the lives.

Transforming a person.

Creating individuals who are successful in life.

Throughout the day pagod ka kasama mo yung mga bata.

Tinuturuan mo sila.

Sumakit man yung ulo mo or umitim man yung balat mo at the end of the day masaya ako.

Lagi mong tinitignan yung positive effect

kahit hindi natin maiiwasan na may mga negative

yung hindi ka susuko kaya pa rin yan

dadaan din yan bukas iba nman yung mangyayari

so just look at the positive side

dapat ang pagiging isang teacher hindi lang mo iisipin yung trabaho.

Kailangan hindi lang utak kailangan mayroon kang puso.

We always go out of our ways, our regular jobs kaming mga sundalo para lang gawin itong football makapagturo sa mga bata.

I always ask my student to always aspire for quality.

Do not be a mediocre worker.

If you are going to do something do it in the best possible way.

We should always be doing our best all the time.

If you are really a teacher at heart there's always passion that keeps burning.

Kung magturo ka maging expert ka

hindi pwedeng gradable

hindi pwedeng average

Excellent ka talaga otherwise you have no business teaching.

If you feel that you no longer have the passion we should not allow these poor kids suffer in our side, in our classroom.

Dapat kailangan isipin mo na lang kaya mo ito ginagawa kasi gusto mo at gusto mong makatulong hindi dahil gusto mo lang kumita.

If your reason for teaching is because wala ka ng ibang mapasukan.

What kind of a teacher will you be?

What kind of a teacher will you be?

The sooner it's over the better it is.

Because the most important question you can ask in life is, "bakit ko ginagawa ito?"

You lose your "Why", you lose your "Way".

Love your calling with passion.

It is the meaning of your life.
